Alexis was standing a ways away from her brother Atticus, who was just staring out the window of the academy hallway.
Jaden: Hey Alexis, how's your brother doing?
Alexis turned to the side and saw Jaden, Chazz, Banner, and a man wearing an eye patch walking up to her.
Alexis: So-so. I mean, he's out the hospital, but he still doesn't remember much of what happened.
Jaden: I'm sure he'll come around soon Alexis.
Alexis: Anyway, what brings you all over?
Banner: The law actually. Children, this is Detective Zaloog.
Zaloog: It's nice to meet you.
Banner: You see, since two of the keys have been lost, and two others almost taken, the academy though it best to call in the police.
Jaden: By the way Lex, where's your key?
Alexis: Right here around my neck.
Chazz: Same here.
Jaden: Same with me.
Zaloog: That's exactly what I was afraid of. You see, all the shadow duelists have to do to find your keys is to find you. The best course of action would be to hide your keys.
Jaden: I guess that makes sense.
They went around to everyone's rooms to hide the keys, starting with Chazz's room, Chazz opting to hide his key under the sink in his room.
Chazz: No one'll think to look here.
Zaloog: Just be sure to keep it a secret Chazz.
Suddenly a thud was heard outside Chazz's room.
Zaloog: What was that?
They looked outside and saw a large man in a janitor's uniform painting the railing.
Jaden: Oh that's just Gorg, the janitor.
They moved on to Jaden's room next, and he put it in his desk drawer.
Jaden: It should be safe in the junk drawer.
Zaloog: Good, no one will find it in all that clutter.
They then heard shuffling outside Jaden's door. When he opened it, he saw a Slifer Student with spiky yellow hair and a red sweatband.
Zaloog: Who is he?
Syrus: Hey CK, you lost again?
Jaden: Your room is down there.
CK: Oh yeah, my bad.
Chumley: CK is a new transfer student. He's a nice guy, but he gets mixed up about which room is his.
Next they went to Alexis' room, where she hid her key inside her jewelry box.
Zaloog: Just make sure you keep the key in a safe place Ms. Rhodes.
Just then, Meanae, one of the nurses came in.
Meanae: Sorry if I'm interrupting, but I just thought you might want to hear your brother is doing just fine Alexis.
Alexis: Thanks.
Finally, they arrived in Michael's room, where both he and Lily hid their keys in the safe in his room.
Michael: I got this safe at the start of the year to keep important items in. It's solid steel, and it's small enough to hide under my bed.
Zaloog: Good, and what about the key?
Michael: I always keep it on this string around my neck.
Just then, one of the security guards walked past Michael's room.
Zaloog: Who is he?
Lily: That's just Cliff, one of the guards.
Michael: Well I guess we can all sleep a bit more soundly now.
Zaloog: Yes, quite soundly. I suggest we all head to bed. You all must be exhausted.
That night, while everyone was asleep, their rooms were broken into one by one, and their spirit keys were taken. The thieves then took the keys to the Spirit Gates, but when they inserted them, nothing happened.
Thief 1: I don't understand, we have the keys, but the gates aren't opening.
Thief 2: We must have to do something else.
Thief 3: But how do we know what that is?
Thief 4: I bet I know who does.
Thief 5: Those kids. So much for doing this the nice way.
A few minutes later, Chazz woke up in his room to Jaden and Syrus saying something to him, but he couldn't' hear what they were saying because of the earplugs he wears in his sleep.
Chazz: Uh morons, see these things in my ears? They're earplugs, now start over.
Jaden: Your key has been taken Chazz! Look!
He pointed behind him to Chazz's door, which looked like someone had taken a battering ram to it. He checked his hiding place and his key was gone.
Chazz: What in the- No, it can't be! How did this happen?
Jaden: Those earplugs make it so you can't hear when your door is being smashed in. It looks like the Shadow Riders are back. Come on, we have to tell everyone.
Later on, everyone had gathered in Chazz's room.
Chazz: So all your keys are gone too?
Alexis: Afraid so.
Chazz: See Jaden, and they weren't wearing earplugs.
Zaloog: We'll figure this out.
Everyone turned to the door and saw Detective Zaloog, Gorg, Cliff, CK, and Meanae standing in the door.
Lily: What's going on detective?
Zaloog: I rounded up some suspects to get to the bottom of this most serious crime.
Syrus: So you're going to question them?
Zaloog: In due time. But there are some questions I need to pose to you first.
Jaden: Whatever. After all, he's the detective, right?
Michael & Chazz: Wrong.
Jaden: What do you guys mean?
Michael: What we mean is, they're behind this.
Meanae: What? Where's your evidence?
Chazz: You all left behind rather incriminating clues.
Jaden: Like what Chazz?
Chazz: It would've taken someone pretty strong to bust my door in, someone like Gorg.
Michael: And when I checked Alexis' room, there was a press-on nail on the floor. I suppose it could've been Alexis', except it's the same design that Meanae wears. And in my room, there was a set of boot prints leading to my bed, boot prints that match the boots Cliff always wears.
Chazz: And if that's not enough to convince you, I hid one of these cards everywhere we hid our spirit keys, and they saw you take them.
Ojama Black: Caught ya red handed!
Ojama Green: We certainly did!
Ojama Yellow: You are so busted!
Lily: So they were all in on it?
Zaloog: You're mistaken, it's not just them, it's me too. For you see, we are the criminal organization known as The Dark Scorpions!
Everyone: Never heard of you.
Zaloog: Of course you haven't. We've been deep undercover at your school for years now, waiting for our chance to nab those keys. And now, we finally have them.
Chazz: So what? I order to use them, you'll have to beat one of us in a duel, and that one will be me, Chazz Princeton!
Jaden: Why you?
Alexis: I'll take them on.
Lily: What about me?
Chazz: Hey, Gorg kicked my door in, so this is payback time!
Zaloog: Of course, that's why the keys didn't work. Well then, prepare to duel!
Chazz: Let's go Shadow Rider!
Everyone went outside to watch the two of them duel.
Both: Duel!
Chazz: 4000 LP
Zaloog: 4000 LP
Zaloog: I'll win this as easy as we stole your keys. I summon Golem Sentry in defense mode!

Chazz: My turn! I play the spell card Fiend's Sanctuary! With this card, I can summon a Metal Fiend token to the field.

Chazz: And now I'll sacrifice my token to bring out Armed Dragon LV 5!

Chazz: Now attack his golem with Spiked Spinner!
His Armed Dragon spun its arms and smashed Golem Sentry.
Chazz: Next I'll place two cards face-down and activate my Armed Dragon's special ability. Since he destroyed a monster in battle this turn, I can send him to the graveyard during my end phase to summon Armed Dragon LV 7!

Zaloog: Level him up all you want, it won't matter. And you're about to see why. First, I play Pot of Greed, which means I can draw 2 more cards. And now I summon the one and only Don Zaloog! And when I saw one and only I mean it, because you see, I am Don Zaloog.
He placed the card on his duel disk and walked onto the field.

Michael: He's a duel spirit.
Zaloog: Now I play the spell Mustering of the Dark Scorpions! Since I am on the field, I can now summon all the Dark Scorpion monsters I have in my hand. Join me on the field. Scorpion roll call!
Gorg: Rolls? Who's got the rolls?

Zaloog: And now I play the trap Dark Scorpion Combination! You see Chazz, this trap can only be played when all five of us are on the field, and since we are, we can each attack you directly this turn.
Chazz: Say what?!
Syrus: If they do that, Chazz will lose.
Michael: Not quite Syrus. During the turn Dark Scorpion Combination is activated, your attacks can only deal 400 points of damage each.
Alexis: That may be so, but that still adds up to Chazz taking 2000 points of damage.
Don Zaloog: Go, Dark Scorpion Combination!
Chazz: 2000 LP
Jaden: Chazz!
Chumley: Oh man, Chazz lost half his life points in just one turn.
Zaloog: And that's not all Chazz. You see, each of us has a special ability we can activate when we inflict damage to your life points.
Chazz: What?
Gorg: First, your Armed Dragon returns to the top of your deck.
Chick: Then one of the cards on your field returns to your hand.
Cliff: Now you have to send the top 2 cards of your deck to the graveyard.
Zaloog: And then a random card in your hand is sent to the graveyard, and I choose the one on the left.
Meanae: And finally, a card with "Dark Scorpion" in its name can be added from our graveyard to our hand.
Zaloog: And I'll choose the card that started all this, my Dark Scorpion Combination. And next turn it'll end it all!
Jaden: Hang in there Chazz! You can win this!
Chazz: I know that Jaden, so just be quiet and let me duel. I play the trap Level Modulation! This card lets me summon a LV monster from my graveyard, ignoring any summoning conditions, and all I have to do is let you draw 2 cards, so return to the field, Armed Dragon LV 7!
Zaloog: Him again? Fine. I set two cards face-down and end my turn.
Syrus: I hate it when this guy plays face-downs.
Jaden: I hear ya Syrus. This should be interesting.
Chazz: My move. And I activate my Armed Dragon's special ability. By discarding one monster, all your face-up monsters whose attack are less than or equal to the attack of the monster I discarded are destroyed. I discard Despair from the Dark, and it has 2800 attack points.
Zaloog: Not so fast, Chazz. I play the trap Retreat of the Dark Scorpions! This card will return all the Dark Scorpion monsters on my field to my hand, so your dragon is destroying nothing.
Chazz: Even so, with no monsters on the field, you're wide open. Armed Dragon LV 7, attack him directly!
Armed Dragon charged an energy sphere in his hand before launching it at Don Zaloog.
Zaloog: 1200 LP
Syrus: Alright, Chazz wiped out most of his life points.
Lily: Yeah, but he didn't destroy any of Don Zaloog's monsters, and I bet his face-down card is his Dark Scorpion Combination.
Michael: And since he has all his Dark Scorpions in his hand, if he draws another copy of Mustering of the Dark Scorpions, Chazz will lose.
Chazz: I place one card face-down and end my turn.
Zaloog: My move. I play the spell Alter of Restoration! By banishing the top two cards of my deck, I can add one card from my graveyard to my hand, and I choose Mustering of the Dark Scorpions.
Jaden: This is bad.
Alexis: If he plays it, he can use his Combination card and win the duel.
Chazz: No he won't, because I play the trap Ojama Trio!
Suddenly, Ojama Green, Yellow, and Black appeared on Don Zaloog's field.
Cliff: Wait a sec, why are they on out field?
Chazz: So that you can't be. You see Ojama Trio summons three Ojama Tokens to your side of the field, and they can't be tributed to tribute summon, and when they're destroyed, you take 300 points of damage.
Michael: Nice move. With those tokens out, Don Zaloog can only summon two more monsters.
Meanae: Do what you have to do boss.
Zaloog: Meanae, I'll never forget you for this. I summon myself in attack mode and activate Mustering of the Dark Scorpions to summon Meanae in attack mode. Next I play the spell Dark Scorpion – Tragedy of Love! When myself and Meanae are on the field, I can send Meanae to the graveyard to destroy all of your monsters!
Meanae struck Armed Dragon with her whip, causing him to explode, but she was caught in the explosion as well.
Meanae: Avenge me boss!
Zaloog: I will Meanae. I attack you directly with Double Blast Attack!
Chazz: 600 LP
Zaloog: Now my special ability activates, meaning you have to send the last card in your hand to the graveyard!
Chazz: Actually, it'd be my pleasure.
Zaloog: What?!
Chazz: You see, the last card in my hand is Ojamagic, and when this card is sent from my hand or my field to the graveyard, I can add the three Ojama Brothers from my deck to my hand.
Zaloog: Go right ahead, they don't scare me. I end my turn.
Chazz: I draw. And I play Pot of Greed to draw 2 more. Next I play Polymerization and fuse the three Ojama Brothers to summon Ojama King!

Chazz: Next up, I play the Ojamuscle spell card.
Ojama King: Ojama tokens, come to daddy.
He swallowed the tokens before his muscles swelled.
Chazz: Ojamuscle can only be played when Ojama King is on the field, and then it destroys every other Ojama monster on the field, while giving King an extra 1000 attack points for every monster destroyed.
Alexis: And since the Ojama tokens were destroyed, Don Zaloog takes 900 points of damage.
Zaloog: 300 LP
Ojama King: 0-3000 ATK
Chazz: Now Ojama King, attack Don Zaloog with Flying Belly Flop Drop!
Zaloog: 0 LP
Winner: Chazz
Zaloog: This can't be. We can't lose.
A bright light flashed from his eye patch and all the Dark Scorpions turned into cards.
Chazz: Well, I guess that's one less Shadow Rider we have to worry about.
Chumley: Well I say good riddance.
Syrus: That's what you get for trying to steal.
Michael: At least now we have the spirit keys back.
Alexis: Maybe, but what happened to Don Zaloog and the other Dark Scorpions?
Jaden: Don't know, but Chazz seems concerned. I wonder why?
Having reclaimed the keys, everyone returned to their rooms. Chazz put in his ear plugs before slipping into bed, his duel spirits hosting a welcome party for the Dark Scorpions, whose cards Chazz picked up after the duel.
Zaloog: You sure know how to throw a good party Ojama Yellow.
Yellow: And we're going all night long!
Meanae: Hey, where's Ojama King?
Yellow: He comes late, likes to make a big entrance.
Zaloog: That's dynamite.
