Chapter 16
Everyone in the room froze. Poppy grabbed the AED machine and attached it to Harry. Severus grabbed some more gauze, taped it down and began CPR. Poppy yelled, 'Clear' and everyone moved his/her hands from the bed and Harry. Nothing happened. She pressed the button again. The same thing happened nothing. The button was pressed a third time. Just then Hermione and Draco walked in. Hermione saw the blood everywhere and the AED machine and began to cry. She ran to Harry's side and grabbed his hand. She looked at his face and whispered,
" I love you Harry!" Then Harry's heartbeat came back up and he began to breath. Everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief. Poppy attached the oxygen mask to Harry and turned it on. Severus then said,
"He must have gone into shock when I inserted the needle into his abdomen." Poppy then asked,
"What do you think it was Severus?"
"I don't know. The way it was bleeding it makes me think it was a blood clot. I am not sure what to do. I might have to add yet another scar to his stomach I hope not though." Everyone in the room stared at Severus. Hermione sat down in a chair that had been brought over and held Harry's hand while rubbing it. Draco sat next to Hermione with his hand on her arm.
Meanwhile in Percy's room, Ron and Percy sat talking.
*Conversation between Ron and Percy*
"Have you seen Harry lately Ron?"
"No I haven't, not since we beat him up and left him down in the dungeon three weeks ago. Do you think we killed him Percy?"
"God I hope not because Lucius and the Dark Lord would be furious with us."
"What happens if he snitches again this time to one of the professors?"
"If that happened I want you to play dumb. I am going to take the blame. Do you understand me?"
"Oh so now you want to take the blame? What happened last summer when I got in trouble and had to scrub the bathrooms at the ministry by hand? You didn't then what changed?"
"That yes well I should have taken some of the blame but mom and dad's punishment is nothing compared to what awaits us now. We would end up in Azkaban that is why I am going to take the blame."
" But what if they try to use my memories or force me to drink Veritaserum (truth potion)?"
"First of all Veritaserum is illegal to use and second I am going to remove all the memories of you hurting Harry. I will place them in a bottle and after/if they take me open the bottle and the memories will come back. I also want you to apologize to Harry and tell him that I had you under the Imperious Curse and that all along you just wanted to be friends and I wouldn't let you. You are to befriend him and gain his trust. Then once Fred and George graduate go back to beating him up. Do you understand me Ronald?" Ron nodded. Percy took out a bottle and put Ron's memories of hurting Harry and closed the bottle. He then made it disappear.
"Where did the bottle go Percy?"
"It is in your trunk." Just then there was a knock on the door. Percy put his finger to his lips and opened the door. He was surprised to see Professor McGonagall standing there looking very cross. Percy said sarcastically, "Hello Professor McGonagall and how are you doing this evening?"
"Hello Mr. Weasley, I am troubled actually. Tell me do you happen to know where your brother Ron is?"
"He is in here with me I have been helping him with some homework." Percy lied. Minerva then said,
"I need to speak with both of you in my office immediately." Percy and Ron followed Professor McGonagall to her office. On the way they ran into Bill and Charlie. Percy smiled and said,
Hey bros what are you doing here?" Charlie said,
"We have a bone to pick with you two." Minerva then said,
"Why don't you two join us in my office." So Bill and Charlie followed Minerva, Ron and Percy to her office. Once they were all seated Minerva began by saying, "Ron Percy you have been brought here to discuss an issue and several complaints that I have received from several Gryffindor students. I first thought they were just rumors from several students that have now been confirmed that both of you boys have been beating up a fellow Gryffindor student since his first year here." Ron looked at Percy and then at Bill and Charlie then at Minerva then said,
"Are you saying that Percy and I are being accused of being bullies?" Minerva then said,
"I heard it directly from the student who has bullied."
"Who is it?" Ron asked. Minerva looked at Bill and Percy who were looking at Ron confused. They both looked at Percy who was sitting there very quietly staring off into the distance not saying a word. Bill stood in front of Percy and said,
"Percy you are being awfully quiet do you have something to say?" Percy looked at his brothers and Minerva and said,
"It was all me. I am the one to blame for everything that happened to Harry. The only reason that Ron did anything to Harry was because I had him under the Imperious Curse." Ron turned to Percy and said,
"You did what now? You had me under the Imperious Curse and you made me beat up Harry Potter." Percy nodded. Minerva then said,
"Ron are you saying that you have no memory of hurting Harry and you had no idea that this was going on?" Ron nodded then said,
"This is the first time that I am hearing anything about this." Minerva then said,
"Ron do you swear that you have no memory of hurting Harry?"
"I swear. All I ever wanted was to be his friend." Minerva then said,
"Okay Ron you may go." Ron stood up and Percy stood as well to hug his brother. Percy then whispered in Ron's ear.
"Remember what we talked about." Ron gave Percy a squeeze and left Minerva's office. Once Ron had closed the door, Percy said,
Ron only did what I told him to do. Also before you ask I was the only one who raped Harry on the train." Minerva then looked at Bill and said,
"Please floo to your father's office and bring him back with you." Bill nodded and walked over to the fireplace, picked up some floo powder, threw it down and said ' Arthur Weasley's office.' Bill landed in his father's office. Arthur looked up and said,
"Hello Bill to what do I owe this surprise visit?"
"Minerva wishes to see you in her office immediately." Arthur nodded and the two of them flooed back to Minerva's office. Bill came through first followed by his father. Arthur stepped through the fireplace and saw Percy sitting in a chair with Charlie standing next to him. Arthur then said,
"What is going on here?"
"Percy go ahead and tell your father what you told us." Minerva said. Percy looked right at his father and said,
"I am the one that has been beating up Harry since his first year. I used the Imperious Curse to get Ron to help me. I am also the one that raped Harry on the train at the beginning of the school year." Arthur just stood there in shock for a few minutes then he said,
"What on earth would make you do something like that?"
"I was instructed to do so." Percy said without hesitating. Minerva then asked,
"And pray tell who would instruct you to do something as horrible as beat up a defenseless student and rape him. Not to mention use the Imperious Curse on your own brother? Also grab a girl on the train bind her, gag her, and lock her in a train compartment?" Percy smirked and said,
"The mudblood was in the way and…" He pulled the sleeve of his robe up and then pulled the long sleeve on his left arm up to his elbow, tapped it with his wand and revealed the Dark Mark. Everyone in the room gasped. Arthur turned to Bill and nodded. Bill flooed out and came back a few minutes later followed by Moody and Kingsley. Arthur then swallowed stood straight up and said,
"By the power vested in me by The Ministry of Magic as the Minister of Magic I hereby place you Percy Ignatius Weasley under arrest on the following charges… (Moody grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill and wrote them down) using the Imperious Curse on a minor, raping a minor, and being in league with Lord Voldemort." He then pulled out his wand and made handcuffs appear on Percy's wrists. Kingsley stood behind him and placed one hand on Percy's shoulder. Moody rolled up the parchment and placed it in his jacket pocket. He then went and stood on the other side of Percy. Arthur then nodded and flooed back to his office followed by Kingsley and Percy and then last Moody. Once they all arrived they led Percy to the elevator. They took it all the way back and all the way down. Arthur led the way to a holding cell, which he unlocked with his wand. Kingsley and Moody stepped inside with Percy. They took off his robe and searched him from top to bottom. After doing this they shook out his robe. Once they had finished searching him they gave him back his robe. Arthur then asked for his head boy badge and his wand. After handing both of them over, the handcuffs were removed, everyone but Percy stepped out and then Arthur said,
"You will remain here until your trial. Do you have any questions?" Percy shook his head. Arthur then locked the door. He stepped aside and leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. Tears began to roll down his face. Kingsley gave him a hug and wiped away his tears. Arthur nodded and walked back to his office. Moody and Kingsley went back to the Auror School. Arthur walked into his office and sat down at his desk. He placed Percy's wand in his desk drawer and placed the Head Boy Pin on his desk. He would take it back to the school later. He then tried to focus on his work but couldn't get anything done. He then decided to go home.
After Arthur, Moody, Kingsley, and Percy left Minerva's office, Bill and Charlie decided to go home and tell their mother what had happened and to wait for their father to come home knowing that he would. Once Minerva was alone again she went back to the hospital wing. She walked in to find Hermione asleep with her head on the bed and her hand in Harry's. Harry was lying in the bed with an oxygen mask on asleep. Draco was on the other side reading a book. Poppy, Tonks, Remus, and Severus were over in a corner talking. Minerva walked over and asked,
"What happened to Harry and why is there blood on the sheets?" Severus explained what had happened. Minerva thought for a minute then said, "Is it possible that it was just a normal blood clot that popped when you inserted the syringe? Those can be pretty painful and sometimes the pain stops after it is popped. Severus thought for a minute them said,
"That is possible! I will check and see when he wakes up." Just then Harry began to stir. Draco closed his book and Hermione sat up as Harry squeezed her hand. The adults walked back over to the bed and Poppy turned off the oxygen machine and removed the mask from Harry.
Arthur walked into his living room and found Molly sitting in a chair crying with Bill and Charlie on either side of her. Arthur sat down and Bill went over to his dad. Charlie stayed with Molly who was crying. Bill said,
"Is he at the Ministry?" Arthur nodded. Molly blew her nose and asked,
"Did Percy really rape Harry? Arthur sighed and said,
"Yeah Poppy, Minerva, Severus, Tonks, and Remus heard Harry say it." Molly then asked,
"What about Ron? What is being done about him?" Charlie spoke up next,
"He claimed that he had no memory of hurting Harry." Molly turned to Charlie and said,
"He claimed that he had no memory of hurting Harry?" Charlie and Bill nodded. Molly then said, "You guys actually believed him?" Charlie then said,
"When Percy admitted to everything thing Ron dropped his jaw, turned to Percy and he yelled, 'you did what now? You had me under the Imperious Curse and you used it to make me hurt Harry Potter?' He swore that he had on idea that he had done anything to Harry." Molly looked at Arthur and said,
"He certainly had knowledge of it last summer when he got punished for it. He told us nothing was going to but we knew he was lying and I bet he is lying now. He also didn't look like he was under the Imperious Curse." Arthur let out a sigh,
"I will meet with all the teacher and tell them to please keep an eye on not only Harry and Ron but all the students too." Arthur stood up and hugged his sons and kissed his wife and flooed back to Minerva's office. Upon arriving and finding it empty, Arthur decided to go check the hospital wing. There he found Minerva, Severus, Remus, and Poppy talking with Harry.
*Conversation between Harry and Adults*
(M=Minerva, H= Harry, Sev=Severus, R=Remus, and P=Poppy)
M: How are you feeling Harry?
H: I am feeling better Professor McGonagall thanks for asking.
P: How is your stomach feeling?
H: It feels better.
P: That is good. Glad to hear that. You might be able to leave soon.
M: You won't have to worry about Percy hurting you anymore. As long as the jury finds him guilty at his trial, which they should, he will be in Azkaban for life.
H: What if the jury finds Percy innocent and what about Ron?
M: The chances of the jury finding him innocent is about as much of a chance as Sirius has of being proven guilty and ending up in Azkaban. As far as Ron goes he is going to be watched like a hawk. If he comes near you the adults will keep a close eye on the situation.
H: What if he comes up to me in the common room or in the hallway and there are no adults around?
Sev: You will never be alone. There will always be someone with you. Hermione, Neville, Ginny, Fred, and George will be with you in the common room. Draco and Luna will be meeting you outside the common room and walk with you to class. Ginny, Fred, George, and Luna will meet you at the end of each class. If he does talk to you listen and then come tell one of us immediately. If he tires to hurt you run to the nearest classroom and tell the professor there. If the classroom is empty use the floo to go directly to Mr. Weasley's office."
*End of Conversation*
Arthur walked into hear the end of the conversation. He walked over and said,
"Hey Harry how are you feeling?"
"Better. Madame Pomfrey said that I could get out soon." Everyone smiled as Harry smiled at this. He then said, "I am sorry that Percy is probably going to spend the rest of his life in Azkaban because of me."
"Harry it is not your fault this happened and Percy chose to do it. You had no control over what he did." Arthur then hugged Harry and said,
" You know that I have always thought of you as a son." Harry nodded.
Later that week Harry left the hospital wing surrounded by Hermione, Ginny, Luna, Fred, George, Neville, and Draco. The group of students walked to the Gryffindor Tower and went over to the corner in the common room to talk. They all sat down and Harry spoke first,
"How long was I out for this time?"
"About a month." Draco replied.
"Wow so I missed a lot of class work." Hermione then said,
"I am sure that the professors will give you time to make up the work." Harry smiled and then said,
"I am going to need a lot of the of help now." Everyone laughed and then the group saw Ron, Seamus, and Dean walk into the common room. The trio walked over to the corner where the group was sitting. Ron spoke first,
" Hey Harry. Look I am sorry for everything that I did to you. I didn't know that I was doing those things to you apparently Percy had me under the Imperious Curse. I never wanted to hurt you. Can you please forgive me and we call a truce and become friends?" Harry thought for a minute then said,
"I forgive you and as far as us being friends you will have to earn my trust. We can be acquaintances for now and once you have earned my trust you can be my friend. You will also have to earn their trust too." Harry pointed to the rest of the group. Ron nodded and he and Harry shook hands. Ron then said,
"See you in the morning buddy oh and I am glad that you are feeling better." Ron, Seamus, and Dean walked off towards the dorms and the whole group including Harry breathed a sigh of relief. The group decided to go and tell Professor McGonagall what had just happened before dinner.
The rest of the year went by with very little problems. Harry managed to get caught of up in all of his classes with the help of his friends and professors. Exams were in full flight and everyone was running on adrenaline especially Hermione. Harry had just finished his transfiguration exam when Oliver Wood, who had gotten Head Boy after Percy got arrested, poked his head in and said,
"I am sorry to interrupting exams Professor McGonagall but I have a message for you from Professor Dumbledore." Minerva motioned for Oliver to come forward. He handed her the note. She thanked him and he left. She read the note it said,
Dear Professor McGonagall,
If you could please inform Mr. Potter that he is to return to his aunt and uncle's house for the summer as his request to stay at the school has been denied.

Albus Dumbledore
Minerva re-reads the letter and then grabs a quill and parchment paper. She wrote the following message,
Dear Remus,
Severus mentioned that you and Tonks convinced Harry to let you adopt him this past summer. My question is did you make it legal with signed papers from his uncle releasing custody?
Minerva
She folded the note and looked to see who had finished the exam. She saw that both Draco and Harry were finished. She said,
"Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy please come up here and please bring your exams." Harry and Draco grabbed their exams and walked up to her desk. Minerva then said, " I need the two of you to please take this note to Professor Lupin and then come straight back." The two boys nodded and quietly left the classroom. On the way they ran into Remus. Harry handed him the note and the boys walked back to the Transfiguration classroom. Remus read the note and went to his office. Upon arriving he walked over to his fireplace. He grabbed a handful of floo powder, stepped into the fireplace, and said, 'Auror school office'. Tonks sat at her desk doing paperwork when her fireplace began to glow green. Remus stepped through and approached his wife. He kissed her on the head and handed her the note. She sat quietly for a minute and then said,
"When I spoke with Arthur last week he was going to look into us officially adopting him without us having to go through his uncle." Remus then said,
"Have you heard back from him or checked back with him?" Tonks shook her head then she said,
"I will go talk to him as soon as I get done with what I am working on. You go back to the school and focus on getting your students through finals." Remus nodded and flooed back to his office. Tonks finished her paperwork and aparated to the ministry. She went straight to Arthur's office and knocked on his office door. Molly who was having lunch with Arthur opened the door.
"Tonks how nice to see you!"
"I am sorry I can come back later if now is a bed time." Arthur took a sip of his drink and said,
"No you are fine. What's up Tonks?" Tonks closed the door and said,
"Where are you in the process of Remus and I legally adopting Harry?"
"I spoke with the board this morning about it and they said that they will sign the papers if we can prove that Remus is his father."
"So basically all we have to do is get a DNA sample aka a blood sample from both Harry and Remus and they will sign off on it?"
"Yes! I just sent a letter to Poppy asking her to get a blood sample from both Remus and Harry and then send it to the Ministry for testing." Tonks nodded and left. She went straight to the castle and found Remus in his office. She told him to come with her to the hospital wing.
Meanwhile back at the school, Harry, Draco, Neville, and Hermione were on their way to lunch when Madame Pomfrey approached them. She said,
"Mr. Potter if you could please follow me. I will bring you to the Great Hall afterwards." Harry followed Madame Pomfrey towards the hospital wing. On the way they ran into Tonks and Remus. They followed Harry and Madame Pomfrey to the hospital wing. Once they all arrived Poppy told Remus and Harry to have a seat on one of the beds. Tonks then said,
"There is good news and bad news. The good news is that Arthur said that as soon as the Ministry gets the DNA results back they will override the Vernon's guardianship over Harry and he will be ours!" Remus opened his mouth but Tonks held up her hand to stop him. "The bad news is that the fastest and most effective way to get a DNA result is with blood work." Harry and Remus both swallowed and looked at each other. Then they both began to laugh. Poppy walked over towards the bed pushing a small cart. Harry looked at the cart and swallowed. Remus saw his cub getting scared and said,
"Harry buddy it will only hurt for a little bit. I will go first if that would help." Harry nodded. Tonks looked at Poppy and Poppy said,
"Don't worry I have already checked the needles and neither one of then are silver tipped." Remus held out his left arm. Poppy put on a pair of gloves and picked up an alcohol wipe and began to wipe Remus' arm at his elbow bend. She then picked up the needle and counted "1…2…3." Then she inserted the needle into Remus' arm and began to the blood. Once she had enough she picked up a cotton ball and then pulled the needle out and placed the cotton ball on the spot. She had Remus hold it in place. She then set the needle down and grabbed a band-aid and placed it over the cotton ball. Poppy then turned to Harry and held out her hand for his arm. Harry hesitated. Tonks came over and sat next to Harry and wrapped her arms around him. She held him close and Poppy gently took his right arm. She wiped it with an alcohol wipe. She then picked up the other needle and counted to three. Poppy then inserted the needle into Harry's arm. Harry buried his head into Tonks' chest and squeezed her trying not to cry. Poppy drew the blood and then placed a cotton ball on the spot as she pulled the needle out. Remus held it in place while Poppy grabbed a band-aid. Poppy labeled each blood sample and placed them in a plastic bag. Tonks held up Harry's head and wiped away the tears. Poppy handed to bag to Tonks who then kissed both Harry and Remus and flooed to Arthur's office. She handed the bag to Arthur and said,
"How long will it take to get the results back?"
"It will take about 3-4 days for the lab to run the DNA test results and then another day to get the board together and get them to sign the papers, so about a week."
"Exams are over Friday and the students leave Saturday to go home for summer. That is only 2 days away! Can it not be rushed?"
"Unfortunately not. The lab work takes time. It is my fault because I should have more time on this and spoken to the board sooner but things have been a little crazy around here. I am sorry."
"So where is Harry going to go on Saturday?"
"I will talk to the lab and see if they can push it through. I would talk to your sister and see if he can stay at the school until we get the results." Tonks nodded and left. She went to Minerva's office via floo. Tonks stepped thought the fireplace into her sister's office and asked her if Harry could stay at the castle. Minerva showed her the note that Albus sent her and then said,
"I don't have a problem with it but I don't have a say in the matter." Tonks then asked if she could take the note and show it to Arthur. Minerva nodded and Tonks flooed back to the ministry and went straight to Arthur's office.
Meanwhile Vernon had just arrived at home and sat down in his favorite chair with dinner when he noticed an owl at the window. Vernon sat his dinner down and got up and opened the window. The owl flew in and dropped the note on the couch and flew back out the window. Vernon picked up the letter and read it. It said,
Dear Vernon,
Your nephew showed up at the school after all. He will be returning to you for the summer vacation and you are not to let him go until I come and get him.

Vernon threw the note in the trash and sat down in his chair and turned on the TV.
Finals ended and the end of the school year feast went out with a bang as Gryffindor once again won the house cup for the 3rd year in a row. After the feast Harry went over to Remus and said,
"Thanks for everything you have done for me Professor Lupin. Please tell Professor Tonks and Teddy that I love them. I also love you too." Remus then said,
"You will only be there for a day or two at the most. Then the paperwork will be done and you will be ours."
"My uncle will probably kill me by then but thanks again for everything." Remus pulled him into a hug and said,
"He will not kill you, you are a wolf and stronger than that. See you in a few days cub." Then they left the Great Hall. The next day Harry and the rest of the Hogwarts students boarded the Hogwarts Express. Upon arriving at King's Cross station Harry saw his Uncle. He could tell that he was pissed off. Harry said good bye to his friends, kissed Hermione and said,
"Can you take care of Hedwig please?" Hermione nodded. Harry handed Hermione Hedwig's cage and said, "Bye Moine love you." He then walked over to his uncle's car and put his trunk in the trunk and climbed into the back seat. When they arrived at 4 Privet Drive Vernon put the car in park and turned around to face Harry and said,
"Go put your school stuff in the cabinet under the stairs all of it and go wait for me in the attic. You are in big trouble boy." Harry obeyed his uncle. He thought her knew what was coming but he was in for a whole new level of pain.
The Weasley's were just sitting down for a family dinner when a Ministry owl flew in and dropped a note on Arthur's plate. Arthur quickly grabbed the note and read it. He got a panicked look on his face and handed the note to Molly who also read it. It said,
Percy is gone!
Meanwhile at Malfoy Manor Lucius opened the door to find Percy standing there. He said,
"Percy good to see you come on in." Percy stashed his wand in his robe pocket and walked in.
