Elizabeth and Brooklyn laid curled up on the couch. Brooklyn had his wings wrapped around himself as they curled up watching tv. Hudson was in his chair as Bronx laid next to the chair. Goliath and Lexington went to meet Elisa. Broadway was cooking dinner. Elizabeth laid her head on Brooklyn's chest as they watched whatever Hudson had on telivision.
"Where Goliath and Lexington going?" Broadway asked.
"To try some new technology that the police department got. Its called RECAP" Elizabeth said. Broadway nodded as he went back to cooking. Brooklyn was running his claw through Elizabeth's hair. Elizabeth relaxed at his touch.
"Foods ready, love birds." Broadway called, earning an eye roll from Elizabeth and Brooklyn. Elizabeth and Brooklyn litterly jumped off the couch and ran to get their plates, before Broadway could eat all the food on them. Elizabeth and Brooklyn sat eating.
"How was class today?" Brooklyn asked.
"Good. Love learning of the Middle Ages. We are learning more of Arthur." Elizabeth said.
"Whatever happened to him?" Hudson asked.
"He was badly wounded by his son Mordred what they think and his body was taken to Avalon where he waits for when his country will need him again." Elizabeth said.
"Interesting." Broadway said, with a mouthfull of food, earning a laugh from Brooklyn and Elizabeth. They finished the food and Brookly took the plates to the counter to be washed. Elizabeth was laying on the couch, relaxing as Brooklyn sat in front of her. Their relationship was getting strong and Elizabeth couldn't be more happy. Brooklyn was happy to be with her.
"We defently love learning the history from you, Liz." Brooklyn said. She smiled at him as she sat up and leaned against him as they watched some more tv. Brooklyn kept his arm protectively around her as he laid his head against hers. She sighed in content. It was a few hours before they heard Gargoyles land on the balcony. Hudson turned off the tv as they stood. Goliath and Lexington came in. Elizabeth gasped seeing Coldstone with them. Bronx started to growl.
"He survived." Elizabeth whispered. Brooklyn nodded as Coldstone approached them. Lexington joined the four. Hudson comes up to him.
"Welcome home lad." Hudson said as he went and embraced the robot gargoyle.
"Ah. Mentor. It does my heart good to see you survived." Coldstone said. He turns to Goliath. "There is only one other I have missed more. I.." He stopped. Elizabeth's eyes widen as his eye started to flash. Something wasn't right.
"Brother?" Hudson asked.
"Are you alright?" Goliath asked. Coldstone pushes the two Gargoyles away and walks forward. He looked angry then confused.
"Where am I?" Coldstone asked. He turned to Goliath. "Goliath? My leader?" Coldstone puts his hands on Goliath's shoulder.
"Do you not reconize me, brother?" Goliath asked.
"Brother? Can you not see it I'm.. My voice, its different." Coldstone said. He walks away towards the living area.
"Something isn't right." Elizabeth said. Goliath goes after Coldstone.
"What is this place? This is not the castle." Coldstone said.
"I told you, brother. This is our home." Goliath said.
"Why do you keep calling me..." Coldstone said. He caught a glimpse of himself in the telivison screen and yells. Coldstone takes off running. Goliath goes after him.
"What are you doing?" Goliath asked. Coldstone takes off and the Hudson and Goliath go after him.
"What was that about?" Brooklyn said.
"Beats me." Broadway said.
"Something is going on in Coldstone's head." Elizabeth said.
"I think I know how to find out what." Lexington said. Elizabeth, Broadway, and Brooklyn shared worried looks. The four go to the balcony. Brooklyn picks up Elizabeth and the Trio take off in the air as Lexington got his headset on. They found where Elisa was and land on a roof near the crime scene. "Elisa its Lex." Lexington called to Elisa on the headset. It took a bit for Elisa to answer. Elizabeth put in one of the ear communicators that Elisa got her to listen.
"What's up, Lex?" Elisa asked.
"The creature your looking for is Coldstone." Lexington said.
"I guess that. Witnesses said he tried to steal data from these files. But he picked the wrong computer to tap into." Elisa said.
"What did he tap into?" Elizabeth asked.
"It was full of Goverment defence spec for top secret weapons." Elisa said. Elizabeth put her hands to her face, having a bad feeling of what she was going to say next. "So they protected it with a powerful new computer virus capable of whipping out any unfamiliar computer program it effects."
"That explains everything." Elizabeth said, looking at Brooklyn, who nodded in agreement.
"That explains a lot. Listen Elisa. I need a favor." Lexington said. Lexington explained his plan. Brooklyn grabbed Elizabeth and they jumped down to where the RECAP system the cops were using were. No cops around. Elizabeth grabbed two of the visors for the RECAP
"Why two?" Brooklyn asked.
"I'm going to help." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn had her climb on his back and he climbed the wall to the roof. He picked her up and the trio took off to find Coldstone, Goliath and Hudson.
"How are we suppose to find them?" Brooklyn asked. Elizabeth heard blasting and looked towards an island past the Statue of Liberty.
"There." Elizabeth said, pointing in that direction. Red blasts could be seen from the island. "I hope we aren't to late." The Trio nodded in agreement as they flew towards the island. Coldstone was in the air, yelling in pain as he sent the blasts. Broadway flew towards him and knocked him out of the sky. The two fell and land on the roof. Brooklyn and Lexington flew down and land on the roof. Brooklyn set Elizabeth down, but kept her close to him. Lexington plugged both visors into Coldstone. Elizabeth took one.
"Please. I beg you. Be quiet." Coldstone said.
"Who is he talking to?" Brooklyn asked.
"Somehow." Elizabeth turned to see Goliath and Hudson joining them on the roof. "He is being tortured from within." Lexington held the controll.
"And if we want to save him. Someone will have to go inside to save him." Lexington said.
"I'm going in. Maybe I can be some help." Elizabeth said.
"I don't like this." Brooklyn said.
"I'll be fine. I can handle myself." Elizabeth said. Goliath saw the other one Lexington was holding up.
"Don't worry Brooklyn. I'll be going with her." Goliath said. Elizabeth smiled. Brooklyn hugged her. Elizabeth and Goliath sat on the ground next to Coldstone.
"This isn't a good idea. I'm most qualified to go." Lexington said as he put the visors on Elizabeth and Goliath. Brooklyn stood behind Elizabeth.
"That is exactly why I want you to handle the equipment. In case something goes wrong." Goliath said. Elizabeth adjusted the visor so it was more comfortable on her face.
"Stay safe." Brooklyn said, putting a hand on Elizabeth's shoulder. She smiled.
"I will." Elizabeth said. Lexington goes and pushes a button. A flash of light comes and Broadway, Brooklyn, and Hudson gasp. Elizabeth, Goliath, and Coldstone were glowing with a white energy.
"I hope that worked." Lexington said. Brooklyn looked nervous. Elizabeth opened her eyes. She was standing next to Goliath in what looked like a computer network system. A thunderstorm was raging and the castle was in front of them.
"Avalon." Elizabeth whispered. The ground shook and white light burst through holes in the floor. Elizabeth and Goliath were knocked to the ground. Elizabeth looked up to see what looked like moving cords moving through the air and an ornage swirl where where the floor use to be. "The virus." Goliath nodded. It was tearing the floor and dropping it down. Elizabeth and Goliath stood up. A bridge appeared in front of them. They ran across the bridge till they reached the front of the castle. They looked up at one of the towers to see three gargoyle statues on top of one of the towers. A lightning struck and a version of Xanatos stood in between the gargoyles.
"Welcome. You didn't expect to explore Coldstone's mind without my permission." Xanatos said. Elizabeth groaned.
"Of course. There's always a catch." Elizabeth said.
"Xanatos." Goliath said, with a growl in his voice.
"No. Mearly a computer program designed by him." Xanatos said.
"What is happening here?" Elizabeth asked.
"Colstone was created by a combination of science and sorcery. The magical energy has merged with the cybernetic systems to make up his mind. My primary directive to enslave Coldstone to Xanatos' will, but the computer virus has stopped me." Xanatos points towards the virus. Elizabeth and Goliath turn and look at the virus. "As you can see, its slowly devouring everything." More of the virus grabs parts of the castle. One bursts through the floor under Goliath and Elizabeth. Goliath grabbed Elizabeth and they jump out of the way as the floor they were standing on disappears.
"This is not good." Elizabeth said. Xanatos appears next to them.
"Careful. You might be next." Xanatos said. Goliath growls and jumps at Xanatos, who disappears and Goliath hits the ground. Stone cracking comes and Elizabeth looks up to see the Gargoyles waking from their stone slumber. One was a female and then there was Coldstone and another gargoyle. The brother went up to Coldstone, who had put hands to his face.
"Let me help you, brother." The brohter said. The girl jumped on the perch and took off towards Elizabeth and Goliath.
"Goliath!" The female said. She was a beautiful gargoyle with brown skin and gold hair.
"Rookery sister?" Goliath said. She lands and Goliath runs to hug her. "How can this be?" She pushes him away.
"Coldstone is created from different pieces of Gargoyles. Now all our souls are trapped inside." The girl said.
"That explains things." Elizabeth said. The female looked at her.
"Who are you?" The female said.
"This is Elizabeth. She's our proctector. She's a friend and she's here to help. Liz. This is my roockery sister." Goliath said.
"NO!" Coldstone yells, flying towards them. Goliath pushes his sister and Elizabeth out of the way as Coldstone kicks him off.
"Goliath!" Elizabeth shouts. The female stops her from jumping off after Goliath.
"Don't. You'll be lost forever if you fall. He will be fine." The female said. Elizabeth nodded. Goliath climbs up to the side and gets knocked off by Coldstone.
"Oh for heaven's sake." Elizabeth said. The female jumps off to help Goliath. Elizabeth ran to the side and looked down. She looked up and gasped to see the castle almost cut apart from the virus. Elizabeth could see the female holding Goliath as Coldstone lands on the gate.
"Do you think me blind. I know why you come to his defence." Coldstone said, pointing at the female.
"My love for you is eternal." The female said. Elizabeth's eyes widen. The female was Coldstone's mate. "And Goliath is not your enemy, but your brother and true friend. He has decieved you." Elizabeth looked at the other Gargoyle, who was watching them. "He has set you against Goliath like he has done a thousand years ago. Try to remember." Elizabeth looked down at the others as the Virus was trying to pull them down into the void. Coldstone puts a hand to his face.
"My memories are clouded. Why should I trust you?" Coldstone asked.
"If you can't trust me, then trust your heart." The female said.
"Listen to her Coldstone. She's right." Elizabeth called. The virus wraps around them and pulls Goliath from the female's grip. "Goliath!" Elizabeth screamed. Coldstone grabs him. He pulls Goliath from the Virus's grip and tosses him back on the gate. Elizabeth sighed in relief.
"Our enemies conspire together to gain control of this mind. We must hurry." Goliath said.
"To late." The other Gargoyle said. Elizabeth gasped as she was grabbed along with the female Gargoyle by the other Gargoyle. Elizabeth watches as Xanatos and the Gargoyle combine and he smiles at Elizabeth and the female. Elizabeth gritted her teeth. Coldstone and Goliath jump off the rock they were on and flew towards the Gargoyle. He switches Elizabeth to where the Female Gargoyle was and slammed his hand down knocking Coldstone and Goliath into the rock and pick the two up. The Gargoyle brings the girls to his face.
"Merge with me, sister. Then we can always be together like I always knew we should be." The Male said.
"Don't listen to him." Elizabeth said.
"Why do you fight me, my love. We are destined to be together for all eternity." The male said.
"I will choose, who I love." The female said. She bit the Male's hand. He yells. The female grabs Elizabeth before she falls and tosses Liz on her back as the Gargoyles start circling. Elizabeth, who was surprised to see she had her gun took some shots at the Gargoyle as they flew around the male and he swipes at them.
"Watch it. Here comes the Virus." Elizabeth said, seeing the cords come and wrap around the male. It pulls him into the void. Elizabeth sighed as the Gargoyle yelled as the Gargoyles watch as he disappears. The Gargoyles flew and land on the bridge. Elizabeth climbs off the female's back.
"Thank you." Elizabeth said. The female nodded at her. The Virus started destroying more of the bridge.
"You two must return to your body." Coldstone said, pointing towards the exit. Before the vortrex consumes everything." Coldstone said.
"What about you?" Goliath asked.
"We are finally together. That is all that matters." The female said. Elizabeth smiled. The two were happy and it reminded her of her and Brooklyn.
"If we can stop the virus, so be it." Coldstone said. He took the Female's hand. "If we fail, we will be united for all time." They move out of the way as the virus takes out the bridge. Goliath and Elizabeth ran across the bridge heading for the hole that was their exit. THe virus takes out the bidge in front of them and Goliath picks up Elizabeth as they head for the exit.
Lexington watched as the glow in Coldstone's eye go out and the glow around Elizabeth and Goliath diappear. Brooklyn, Broadway, and Hudson, who were dealing with the cops land on the roof.
"We can't hold them off any longer." Brooklyn said. They turn as the helicopters got closer.
"Then let's leave this place." Goliath said. The trio and Hudson turn to see Goliath and Elizabeth taking off the visors. Goliath was holding Coldstone. Elizabeth smiled tiredly as she tossed the visor to the ground. Goliath did the same. Brooklyn sighed in relief as she ran up to him and hugged him. He returned the hug. He picked her up as Goliath walked towards the edge of the roof. The Gargoyles took off, behind their leader. Elizabeth explained what happened.
At the clocktower. The Gargoyles and Elizabeth, who was in her pajamas stood around Coldstone.
"Some day I'll trust you will find your way back my brother, my sister. And when you do I want you to be among friends." Goliath said. Goliath picked up Coldstone and went to put him with the rest of their stuff. The Gargoyles headed to the balcony. Brooklyn kissed Elizabeth on the check as she stood in the door. Elizabeth watched as they jumped on their spots and let the sun freeze them to stone. Elizabeth looked out in the horizon. Another beautiful day. She shut the door.
