"I wonder if they were able to protect that mirror." Elizabeth said.
"We will find out eventually." Brooklyn said. The new Mirror that arrived at the Museum was interesting and Elisa was assigned to protect it. Elizabeth didn't understand why. The door opened and Elizabeth looked to see Goliath coming in.
"How did it go?" Elizabeth asked.
"Demona tried to take the mirror. She got away but somehow the Mirror was still taken." Goliath said. Brooklyn let out a low growl. Brooklyn and Elizabeth cleaned up the cards as they heard the stairs come down and the Gargoyles gathered around Hudson, who was sitting in his chair. Elisa came up the steps.
"Well, Captain Chavez just confirmed it. Demona was a decoy. Thieves took the mirror while we were chasing her around the park." Elisa said, coming up to the Gargoyles and Elizabeth.
"I should've expected such deviousness from her." Goliath said.
"So... How bad is this? What can she do with an antique mirror?" Elizabeth asked.
"Its not just a mirror, lass." Hudson said. He turned of the television and turned to look at Elizabeth and Elisa. "It's Titania's Mirror." Elizabeth felt like the name was familiar.
"Titania?" Elizabeth asked.
"Titania was Queen of the Third Race." Hudson said.
"Third race?" Elisa asked.
"You know. Gargoyles, humans, and Oberon's Children." Broadway said.
"I thought everybody knew this." Lexington said
"Yeah that guy Shakespeare wrote a play about them. A Midsummer Night's Dream." Brooklyn said.
"You actually pay attention when I read out loud when you and Lexington are playing games." Elizabeth said with a smirk.
"Scotsmen call them the Fair Folk. The Vikings call them Dark Elves. They are changelings, shape shifters, creatures of pure magic. And their possessions, like the mirror, are vessels of great power." Goliath explained to the girls.
"Wait, wait, wait. Shape shifters, elves, fairies. You mean they're real?" Elisa asked.
"As real as I am, if the stories are true." Hudson said.
"Wouldn't that be awesome to be able to turn into anything. Especially a gargoyle." Elizabeth said, with a look in her eyes.
"Or a human to walk among them and go on a date without hiding." Brooklyn said, earning a smile from Elizabeth.
"I like our privacy." Elizabeth said.
"We could make new friends and maybe love." Broadway said.
"Be careful what you wish for, lad and lass." Hudson said. Elizabeth and Brooklyn shared sad looks.
To Demona. She was standing dealing with a Dark Elf, known as Puck. Puck was wrapped in chains. Demona stood with her arms crossed.
"Well, let's just get this over with, shall we?" Puck asked. He flew around the room. How can I be of service? Hmm? Out with it. I haven't got all night." Puck came to a stop in front of Demona with a smirk on his face.
"You've got all Millennium, if I choose." Demona said, swinging at Puck, who moved away. He flew around her as Demona thought. "I'm to vulnerable during the day. I don't want to turn to stone anymore."
"Of course, you want to stroll down 5th avenue in the sunshine. I'm sure you'll fit right in." Puck said, in a sarcastic voice.
"I could if there were no blated humans." Demona said, agrily. Then she realised what she wanted and smiled. "Yes, Puck. I want you to get rid of the humans. All of them." Puck landed next to the Mirror.
"Does this look like Aladdin's lamp? I have limits after all. What is it you really want?" Puck asked. He touched the mirror and a green light came from the glass and a swirl until an image of Goliath appeared. "How quaint. After all these centuries, you're still carrying a torch. Well, if that's what you want, I can make him love you again. Piece of cake, given your charming personality." Elisa came into the mirror along with Elizabeth. It looked like the girls were talking to Goliath.
"That's it! That's what I want! If you cannot get rid of all the humans, than at least rid me of those two humans. Elisa Maza and Elizabeth Xanatos." Demona said, eyes glowing red with anger.
"Did you sat those two humans?" Puck said. Demona growled and raised her fist to hit Puck. "Oh, nevermind I'll figure it out. This just might be fun, after all." Puck flew up to the Mirror and only a image of Elizabeth and Elisa showed in the Mirror. Puck closed his eyes. "Thy sight Deomona Doth offend. So Puck will hasten to amend." Puck's hair started floating. "Begone, Elisa and Elizabeth, human born." His eyes open and they shown white. "And be no more as you were formed." Light blasts at the two girls.
Back at the clocktower.
"Mirror or no mirror. Demona's no match for us together. We just have to wait till she makes her move." Elisa said. Green light surround Elizabeth and Elia ans pull them away from the Gargoyles.
"LIZ!" Brooklyn shouted.
"Elisa?" Goliath said. The girls were flipped in the air and the Gargoyles were blinded by a huge blast of light. The light disappears.
"Avalon." Brooklyn breathed. Elisa stood, but she was not in her human form. She was in a Gargoyle form, brown body with wings and everything. Elizabeth stood in a all white Gargoyle form with her auburn hair out of her braid and with wings. Brooklyn's jaw dropped at the site of his girlfriend. She was gorgous in Gargoyle form. Elizabeth put a hand to her head as Brooklyn approached her. Goliath approached Elisa. "Liz?" Brooklyn put his hands on her shoulders. She was about his height now when he was taller then her in her human form.
"She ok?" Lexington asked.
"What. What happened?" Elizabeth asked, looking at Brooklyn.
"Broadway. Bring a mirror." Brooklyn said.
"Goliath! This is wondreful." Brooklyn looked to see Elisa hugging the Leader. "You've been changed into a gargoyle."
"Oh boy." Brooklyn said.
"What?" Goliath said. Elizabeth looked at Elisa.
"Gargoyle? Then does it mean?" Elizabeth said as Broadway rushed over with a mirror and Elizabeth gasped at her form. "Oh Avalon. I'm a Gargoyle."
"I hope this isn't a dream." Brooklyn said.
"I hope not. Though its probably not permenant." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn's smile disappeared.
"How come Elizabeth remembers she's human, while Elisa doesn't?" Lexington said.
"I don't know. The mirror must have some how transformed us." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn was still looking at her. Her human clothes had morphed to fit her Gargoyle body. He couldn't believe this had happened to Elisa and Elizabeth and why.
"We've always been Gargoyles. You and Liz are the ones who's been changed." Goliath said.
"Probably by Demona." Elizabeth said. Goliath nodded at her response.
"And the Mirror." Goliath said.
"I've always been a Gargoyle. I think I'd know if I wasn't." Elisa said. Goliath looked surprised.
"Let's go outside." Goliath said. They walked out towards the balcony. Brooklyn stayed close to Elizabeth. Goliath turned to Elisa, taking her hand. "How did we first meet?"
"I fell off a skyscraper and you glided down and caught me." Elisa said.
"Think. If you've always had wings, why did you need me to catch you?" Goliath said. Elisa thought for a minute.
"She's starting to realize." Elizabeth said.
"Uh. I can't glide with these. Can I?" Elisa asked.
"Yes you can." Goliath said. He grabbed her as he jumped onto the railing and took off with Elisa.
"Oh Avalon. What am I getting into." Elizabeth said, looking over the railing. Brooklyn jumped on the railing.
"Come on, Liz. I'll help you." Brooklyn said, with a smile. Elizabeth jumped on the side.
"Are you sure on this, Brooklyn?" Broadway asked. Elizabeth took Brooklyn's arm.
"I'm sure." Brooklyn said as he jumped off with Elizabeth on his arm. The others followed behind as they followed Goliath and Elisa. Elizabeth held Brooklyn's arm tigtly. "Relax. I won't let you fall." Elizabeth smiled at him.
"Thank you." Elizabeth said.
"You look beautiful as a Gargoyle." Brooklyn said.
"Not when I was human?" Elizabeth said. Brooklyn shook his head.
"I think your beautiful both human and Gargoyle." Brooklyn said. Elizabeth felt the wind. She looked at Brooklyn.
"Can I try and fly on my own? You can stay close." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn nodded as she moved one hand down and took his as she moved away, but kept her hand in Brooklyn's. She looked at Brooklyn who gave her an encouraging smile and she let go of his hand. She felt unsteady at first but got the hang of catching the wind current. She laughed.
"You got it, lass." Hudson said, with pride in his voice.
"This is fun." Elizabeth said.
"Their landing." Lexington called as Goliath and Elisa flew towards a roof. Brooklyn and Elizabeth flew towards them and land. Elizabeth landed and almost fell. Brooklyn caught her before she hit the ground.
"Easy." Brooklyn said.
"Did you see? Everyone is Manhattan's been turned into a human." Elisa said. Elizabeth facepalmed.
"No, no, no." Goliath said.
"Look!" Hudson said. Elizabeth looked at the World Trade Center to see Green light coming from one of the towers. A huge flash of light fills the air and Elizabeth puts her arm up to block the light. It diappears and they look to see the light gone.
"What was that?" Elisa asked.
"It could only be Demona." Hudson said. Elizabeth jumped on the side with the Gargoyles and they take off towards the towers.
"Wait!" Elisa called.
"I take it she's still not ready to fly." Elizabeth said as they flew towards the Towers.
"Looks like it." Broadway said. They neared and Hudson tackles Demona to the ground. Demona roars and kicks Hudson off her.
"Your to late, old soldier." Demona said as Hudson got up. The Gargoyles land on the building. Elizabeth put a hand on her hip as they looked at Demona.
"You can't fight all of us, lass." Hudson said. Demona's eyes land on Elizabeth and her eyes widen when Elizabeth smirked, realizing who she was. Elizabeth saw a person laying on the ground. Demona picked him up along with the mirror.
"Curse you, Puck. This is no time to sleep." Demona said. Elizabeth raises an eyebrow when she reconizes the name Puck. Demona tosses the mirror off the side.
"No! The Mirror!" Elizabeth shouts. Hudson runs to the side and dives after the Mirror. The Rest of the Clan take off after Demona. Elizabeth saw Hudson catch the Mirror and she sighed in relief. They flew over the street and Elizabeth gasped. All humans were Gargoyles.
"Demona has gone crazy." Elizabeth said as she saw Demona fly into a Subway entrance. Brooklyn and Lexington fly in first and they fall to the ground. Broadway was next and falls to the ground. Elizabeth and Goliath land at the top of the steps and both wrap their wings around them as Broadway sat up, tapping the ground.
"Even with you new to flying, your getting the hang of it." Goliath said as they walked down the steps. The Trio picked themselves off the ground and they head into the subway. Gargoyles were all around them.
"This is like trying to find a needle in a haystack." Broadway said.
"I don't see her." Elizabeth said, looking around. Three female Gargoyles walk by. The blonde at the trio and winked. They continued walking. Broadway and Lexington watched them go with interest. Brooklyn rolled his eyes at his brothers.
"It's too weird. Kinda fun, but weird." Lexington said.
"With Demona involved, it's more than wierd. It's dangerous." Goliath said, putting his hands on Broadway and Brooklyn's shoulders.
"We should get back to Elisa. I'm sure Hudson took the Mirror back to her." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles nodded and they left the Subway. Brooklyn showed her how to climb a wall so that they could fly towards the building where they left Elisa.
Back to Elisa. They stood around the mirror.
"Alright. We got the Mirror. Now what?" Brooklyn asked. Hudson was sitting on a box and he stroked his chin.
"That was one of Oberon's children with Demona. No doubt about it." Hudson said.
"Ah. She called him Puck." Goliath said.
"In Shakespeare's Play, Puck was a harmless trickster." Elizabeth said.
"What happened below, wasn't harmless. Come, we must continue our search for them." Goliath said. He walked over to the edge and jumped on the side. Elisa looked over the edge.
"I'll never get the hang of jumping off rooftops." Elisa said.
"Its easy." Elizabeth said with a smile.
"I'll alwyas be there to catch you." Goliath said. He jumped off and circled around and stopped flapping in the air. "See? It's easy." Goliath gave an encouraging smile at Elisa. A green glare caught Elizabeth's eye as the Mirror started to glow.
"Not again." Elizabeth said. She gasped as green light surrounded the Gargoyles. "NO!" Goliath yell pulled Elizabeth to the side to see Goliath falling in human form. "Human?" Elisa jumps on the edge calling Goliath's name as Elizabeth turned to the others. "Oh Avalon." They were all human. Broadway and Brooklyn ran to the edge and they watched as Elisa flew down and grabbed Goliath and flew towards the top, grabbing the side. Broadway and Brooklyn helped them up onto the rooftop. Elizabeth looked at Brooklyn, who had a pointy chin and long white hair. He looked so different as human. Hudson grabs a sheet and walks to the mirror.
"We don't want anything else jumping out from this thing." Hudson said, throwing the sheet over the Mirror. Elizabeth turned to Goliath, who was sitting on the ground.
"A light blinded me, and then I fell. I've never fallen before." Goliath said. He shook his head as he talked. He looked up and saw Elizabeth and Elisa looking at him in Gargoyles form. "Elisa. Liz." Goliath jumps to his face. "You've changed back to normal."
"No, we haven't. You've changed." Elisa said.
"You're a human. You fell because you don't have wings." Elizabeth said.
"Elisa, Liz. We've always been humans." Brooklyn said.
"Aye. We've never needed wings to glide before." Hudson said. Elizabeth was ready to facepalm over this. Lexington almost looked like a kid in his human form as he walked over to them.
"Uh, wait a minute. We must've used wings. How else would we glide?" Lexington said.
"Elisa and Liz are right. We're supposed to be Gargoyles and we're not. Everyone else should be human, but thanks to Demona and Puck, they're not." Goliath said. He looked at Elisa and Elizabeth. They made plans to meet in a square that would be empty. The Gargoyles turned human would walk while the girls flew. Elizabeth and Elisa jumped onto the side.
"This feels so weird." Elisa said as they took off in the air.
"It does. I would love to stay Gargoyle." Elizabeth said. Elisa wasn't surprised.
"What is holding you back?" Elisa asked.
"Schooling. I want to finish. Maybe after, I'll find Puck and make this permanent." Elizabeth said.
"I'm not surprised. With how close you and Brooklyn are getting." Elisa said. Elizabeth gave her friend a smile. They heard a battle going as they reached the square. They land on a roof. Bronx was chasing Puck around in his dog form. The Trio was backing away from some humans and Goliath and Demona were facing each other.
"Help the Trio get Puck. I'll handle Demona with Goliath." Elisa said. Elizabeth nodded in agreement. Elisa and Elizabeth took off. Elisa headed for Demona. The trio started acting like they were growling at humans turned Gargoyle. Elizabeth landed next to Brooklyn.
"Impressive." Elizabeth said with a smile. He grinned.
"Your getting the hang of flying." Brooklyn said.
"I am. Let's get Puck." Elizabeth said, seeing Bronz with Puck cornered. Puck was just floating in the air as they apprach him from behind. Hudson had a trashcan in his hands as he got behind him and put the trash can over Puck, who let out a yell of surprise.
"Parties over." Brooklyn said. Elizabeth smiled seeing Goliath and Elisa had taken down Demona.
They return to the Trade Towers with the help of Puck. Demona was wrapped in chairs as Elizabeth stood with Brooklyn as Puck stood in the middle of them. Demona looked mad and Elizabeth couldn't blame her. They had beat her again.
"It ends now, Puck. Change everyone back to the way they were before Demona summoned you." Goliath said. Elizabeth and Brooklyn shared sad looks. "Do it and you'll earn your freedom." Puck bows with a smile.
"It will be my pleasure. But afterwards, I'm going to need a long nap." Puck said. He turned towards the mirror. "First, the humans I'll attend." Puck let green light fly through the mirror towards an attena to change the humans back. His eyes ablaze as he turned to Elisa and Elizabeth. Elizabeth saw him frown a bit like he was hiding something when he looked at her, but the frown disappeared into a smile as Lightning struck the two girls and they fell to the ground, back to their human forms. Goliath and Brooklyn come to their side and helped them up. Elizabeth smiled at Brooklyn. Green light surrounded Goliath and Brooklyn, pulling them back to the other Gargoyles. "Then the Gargoyles will I mend." Another flash of green light and Elizabeth smiled seeing the Gargoyles back to there normal self. Elizabeth ran to Brooklyn and jumped in his arms, hugging him. Demona watched the two and her eyes widen as they kissed.
"No. Human and Gargoyle together." Demona said, struggling against the chains. Elizabeth just gave her a smirk as Puck flew up to Goliath as Brooklyn held Elizabeth close to him.
"If his efforts you commend. Free Puck, let him homeward wend." Puck said. Goliath sighed and ripped the chains off Puck.
"You're free." Goliath said. Puck flew to Demona and grabbed her as he went into the mirror. Brooklyn and Goliath shielded the girls as lightning came and flash of green light and the Mirror was gone.
Back at the Clock tower. Elisa and Goliath were talking. Elizabeth stood with Brooklyn, who was sitting on his perch.
"I'm glad things are back to normal. It was nice to have you as Gargoyle for awhile." Brooklyn said, rubbing a claw down her check. She smiled.
"As soon as I'm ready and done with school. I will find Puck and make him change me into a Gargoyle permently." Elizabeth said. Hope filled Brooklyn's eyes as he smiled.
"Really?" Brooklyn asked.
"Really." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn kissed her quickly as he turned to face the horizon and turned to stone with a smile on his face. Elizabeth turned to see that Elisa had already left, which surprised her, but she yawned and went to bed.
Somewhere in Manhattan. Puck appeared in the park. He had been summoned to meet someone.
"Hopefully this doesn't take to long. I need a nap." Puck grumbled. A figure fully cloaked came out of the trees.
"Does the girl still not know the truth of who she truely is?" A female's voice asked.
"She remembered she was still human, but no she doesn't know. How long you plan on keeping this from her?" Puck asked. The female smiled behind the hood.
"Til the time is right." The female said and she disappeared.
AN: Hmm. I wonder who the lady is at the end. Like I said. I got plans for this story till the very end. Until next time.
