Chapter 16 City of Stone

The Trio and Goliath flew through th sky. Elizabeth was in Brooklyn's arms. Elizabeth had got a call from Elisa that robbers were holding hostages at a bank. Sirens were getting closer.

"We're almost there." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles land on the roof and get in. Goliath went to the level where the hostages were being held and the four got on the ceiling above them. Yells came as Goliath had entered. Brooklyn wrapped an arm around Elizabeth and jumps and they crash through the ceiling bringing down a few of the men. Elizabeth kicked the gun out of one of their hands as the Gargoyles pin them to the ground. Elizabeth grabbed money bags and tossed them to the Trio to start tying the men up. Elizabeth turned to the hostages. It was a couple and three kids that stood behind them. Lexington approached the couple.

"Relax folks. Your safe now." Lexington said.

"Get away." The man said, getting behind the woman.

"Don't come near me." The woman said. Elizabeth sighed. This was getting old.

"Don't gush all over us, ok? It's kind of embarrassing." Brooklyn said, coming over to Elizabeth. Goliath came out of the vault carrying the leader of the gang. He tosses her to the ground in front of her

"We will go now. The police can deal with them." Goliath said, walking by the three kids. The three stepped forward.

"The cause is everything until her own life is threatened. Still, it's good that you saved her." The black haired girl said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth looked at the children, wondering who they were.

"If you forget what she's forgotten, that every life is precious, then you'll be no different from her." The yellow haired girl said. Goliath made a motion to the leader.

"I'll never be like this terrorist." Goliath said.

"We were not talking about this terrorist." The white haired girl said. Then the children were gone.

"The children. Where did they go?" Goliath asked, looking at the couple.

"Whats going on." Elizabeth asked.

"What children?" The man asked. Brooklyn went over to touch the ground where the children were.

"Oh, come on. They were right here a second ago." Brooklyn said.

"Please, there were no children here." The women said.

"If there were no children, then what did we see?" Elizabeth asked. The Gargoyles shared looks as they walk out. "There was children there. The couple must of not seen them."

"But who were they talking about?" Broadway asked. The others nodded in agreement. Brooklyn picked up Elizabeth and they flew back towards the clock tower. It was near sunset when they landed. Brooklyn pulled Elizabeth into a hug and kisses her.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Brooklyn said, pressing a quick kiss to her lips and helps her from his perch.

"Sleep well." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn turned to face the sun and turned to stone with the others. Elizabeth went to get ready for bed. She was tired as she grabbed her blanket and pillow. She laid out on the couch and curled up with her book as she read till she passed out.

"Liz. Liz. Wake up." Elisa's voice pulled Elizabeth out of her sleep towards sunset. Elizabeth rolled over. She was having a good dream of being with Brooklyn.

"Elisa... Why are you waking me up?" Elizabeth asked, rubbing her eyes.

"Its Demona." Elisa said.

"What.. About her?" Elizabeth asked, sitting up.

"She was on the tv, on every channel. She was speaking in a different language and..." The sun rose and Elizabeth gasped as Elisa turned to stone in front of her.

"What in Avalon's name." Elizabeth said. She threw off her blanktet as she heard the roars from Gargoyles. Elizabeth ran to the door. "Guys come quick." The Trio jump off their perches.

"Liz. What's wrong?" Brooklyn said.

"Its Elisa." Elizabeth said. Goliath and Hudson follow the Trio in. They gasp when they see Elisa now a statue.

"What happened?" Goliath asked.

"She woke me up saying that Demona was on television on all the channels speaking in a different language." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles shared worried looks.

"You didn't watch it, did you?" Brooklyn said. Elizabeth shook her head.

"I wanted to read before I fell asleep and had the tv off." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn sighed in relief. Goliath looked worried.

"Broadway. You and Bronx guard Elisa. The rest of us will patrol the city." Goliath said.

"I'm coming with." Elizabeth said, earning a nod from Goliath. They headed out to the balcony.

"What are we looking for?" Lexington asked. Goliath let out a low growl.

"I wish I knew." Goliath said. Goliath took off as Brooklyn picked up Elizabeth and they flew after Goliath. The city was quiet as they flew around Manhattan. No horns or sirens. They flew twoards Hudson's friend, Robbins house.

"There's the house of my friend Robbins." Hudson said, pointing it out.

"Its so quiet." Elizabeth said.

"No horns. No sirens." Brooklyn agreed.

"Let's take a closer look." Goliath said. They flew towards the driveway and landed. There were people frozen in stone on the sidewalks.

"Statues." Elizabeth said.

"Yes. Just like the one of Elisa." Goliath said. Elizabeth bit her lip.

"Something just isn't right." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles nodded as Hudson went to his friends door and knocked on it. A barking came from inside.

"Hey what's gotten into you?" A man said as he opened the door and a dog peaked out. A man opened the door wider and Elizabeth realized he was blinde with the dog being a lead dog. "Who's there? I must apologize for my dog. She's not usually..."

"It's me, old friend." Hudson said with a smile. The dog came over as Hudson bent down to pet the dog. Elizabeth grinned.

"Hudson. I should have known by the way Gilly barked. Come in! Come in!" Robbins said, motioning for them to come in.

"My friends would be more comfortable outside." Hudson said. Robbins closes the door and comes out to where the others were. Elizabeth bent down to pet the dog as it comes up to her.

"I'ms so glad you stopped by. I was getting jumpy. I can't reach anyone by phone. And it's so quiet out here. Preternaturally quiet" Robbins said.

"We noticed." Hudson said.

"How long has it been like this?" Brooklyn asked.

"Your friend is impatient." Robbins said. Elizabeth giggled.

"The curse of youth. But something odd is happening." Hudson said.

"Anything you can tell us would help." Elizabeth said. Robbins looks in her direction then nods.

"Well, it got quiet at sunset. I wonder if it had anything to do with that odd broadcast." Robbins said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth shared worried looks.

"What broadcast?" Goliath asked.

"Well it's still playing. Come listen." Robbins said, turning towards the house and they follow him. They enter the living room through a glass sliding door. Demona's voice came and she was speaking in Latin. Elizabeth didn't look at tv as she stayed by door.

"Demona!" Brooklyn said with a growl in his voice.

"Lexington. Turn off the sound! Now!" Goliath said. Lexington quickly muted the tv. Elizabeth came more in the house after knowing it was safe.

"I like to listen to the news on tv, but today this woman broke into the signal and began chanting in Latin. It's been repeating nonstop on every channel ever since." Robbins said.

"Good thing I decided to read yesterday instead of watch tv." Elizabeth said, rubbing her temple. Brooklyn gave her a nod.

"We have to go." Goliath said. Elizabeth headed to the door as the others follow. Brooklyn picked up Elizabeth as they climbed the wall. Hudson soon joined them and they flew off. They flew through the city. They saw some more people turned to stone.

"Avalon." Elizabeth breathed.

"Everyone in the city. I didn't know she had this kind of power." Goliath said.

"I wouldn't put anything past Demona." Brooklyn said.

"Why wasn't your friend affected?" Lexington asked, looking at Hudson.

"You have to see and hear magic for it to touch you. A blind man is immune." Hudson said.

"We'll have to split up to find Demona." Goliath said.

"Right. Liz and I will go north." Brooklyn said.

"No. We'll search in pairs. Liz, Brooklyn. Your with me. Hudson, Lexington. Stop back at the clock tower. Tell Broadway what's going on. He and Bronx should search as well." Goliath said.

"What about Elisa?" Elizabeth said.

"Demona doesn't know where she is. Elisa's safe in the tower as anywhere. Hudson and Lexington went towards the clock tower as Goliath and Brooklyn flew the other way.

"How are we going to find Demona? She could be anywhere." Brooklyn said.

"I fear that finding her will be all to easy." Goliath said. They flew and Elizabeth gasped seeing piles of broken rocks of humans. Goliath and Brooklyn land. Elizabeth held onto Brooklyn, who kept an arm around her.

"It's like the massacre at Castle Wyvern." Brooklyn said. Goliath looked at the rubble.

"Has Demona learned nothing? Every life is precious." Goliath said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth walked by a toy star where 3 kid statues stood. Elizabeth eyed them.

"One of these could be Elisa. Or worse." Brooklyn said, looking at Elizabeth. Elizabeth clutched her heart. He was right. She could be one of them too.

"NEVER!" Goliath growled. Elizabeth and Brooklyn looked at Goliath. "We will put an end to Demona's evil. Once and for all."

"Yes she must be stopped." Elizabeth turned towards the three kids in the door of a toyshop. One was speaking. Elizabeth saw all three were holding babies.

"But remember your own words, Goliath. Every life is precious." The middle said.

"Take care not to become what you fight against. Vengeance begets nothing but a vicious cycle of further vengence." The right one said. Elizabeth walked up to them and poked the left one. It crumbled to dust and the other two followed. Elizabeth turned and looked at her friends. Brooklyn looked on in shock as Goliath turned and walked away. Brooklyn held out his claw for Elizabeth and she took it. They followed Goliath.

"Where would the broadcast be coming from?" Brooklyn asked. Elizabeth sighed.

"Only place. I could think of. The Pack Media Studios." Elizabeth said. Goliath nodded in agreement as they walked towards the Pack Media Studios. Goliath tore off the door to enter. They walked into a few destroyed studio. Xanatos stood at the controls and Owen was a statue just like Elisa.

"Ah The cavalry has arrived." Xanatos said.

"Xanatos." Goliath said.

"I'm afraid you've missed all the fun. Demona took off after someone she called the Hunter." Xanatos said.

"Hunter?" Elizabeth said, crossing her arms.

"Then you were partners in this sorcery?" Goliath asked.

"I wanted to believe what she promised. So I gave her access to the studio." Xanatos said.

"Your a fool for trusting her, brother." Elizabeth said shaking her head.

"I should make you pay for all the lives she's destroyed." Goliath said.

"Do you want vengeance or a solution? This is bigger than anything either of us has ever faced. We'll have to work together to stop her." Xanatos said. He held out his arm for Goliath. "Truce?" Elizabeth and Brooklyn share looks. Goliath sighed and shook Xanatos' hand.

"Agreed." Goliath said, shaking Xanatos' hand. Elizabeth looked at her phone.

"Its an hour before sunset. Why don't you all come to the castle and stay. For my sister's sake. I won't harm any of you while me, Elizabeth, and Owen come up with a solution." Xanatos said. Goliath looked hesitant.

"Goliath. I will make sure he doesn't harm all of you." Elizabeth said. Goliath nodded. Goliath picked up Owen as they head out. Elizabeth looked at Xanatos. "You harm them in anyway. You will loose me completly." Xanatos nodded knowing she was right. Elizabeth turned and headed out. Brooklyn picked her up as Goliath jumped on top of a car to take off. Elizabeth wrapped her arms around Brooklyn's neck and he climbed the wall. She was telling the Gargoyles in their communicator to meet them at the Castle. Brooklyn took off and followed Goliath towards the castle.

"Brooklyn. Your so quiet." Elizabeth said.

"Its nothing Liz. Seeing the piles of rocks that use to be humans made me fear what if it was you." Brooklyn said. Elizabeth hugged him gently.

"It wasn't. We got lucky." Elizabeth said, pressing a kiss to his check. Brooklyn smiled as he flew towards the castle. The others were waiting for them.

"Why are we here, lad?" Hudson asked.

"We made a deal with Xanatos. We're gonna work together against Demona to bring everyone out of the spell." Elizabeth said as Goliath carried Owen in and to Xanatos' parlor.

"You sure on this, Liz?" Lexington asked.

"He won't hurt all of you. I'll make sure of it." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles nodded as Bronx bumped her hand and she pet him. Xanatos came up. Bronx growled. "Easy boy."

"I promise me and Elizabeth will figure it out before you wake tonight." Xanatos said. Goliath eyed Xanatos, still not trusting him. Brooklyn pulled Elizabeth to him and hugged her. She retured it. Brooklyn smiled sadly at her as he jumped on his perch as the sun rose and the Gargoyles turned to stone. Elizabeth and Xanatos turn and enter the study and watch as Owen turns back to human

"Demona's going to turn everyone to stone. We must..." Owen paused when he saw Xanatos and Elizabeth standing in Xanatos' study. Elizabeth crossed her arms. "Ah. Good morning."

"Are you aware of what's happened?" Owen asked.

"It's fairly easy to deduce." Xanatos said.

"You stopped the broadcast I presume?" Owen asked.

"With a little help." Elizabeth said with a smirk.

"Goliath and Elizabeth have agreed to work with us." Xanatos said.

"Like we had a choice." Elizabeth said, leaning against the desk.

"Then i suggest searching the Grimorum Arcanorum. There may be a counterspell that.." Owen started.

"Would finding one help? None of us ars are practicing sorcerers and I'm told mixing magics is dangerous anyway." Elizabeth said.

"Then perhaps a scientific cure?" Owen said.

"Perhaps. What was the exact translation of Demona's spell?" Xanatos said.

"All who see this, all who hear this, turn to stone throughout the night. Until the skies burn." Owen translated. Elizabeth put a hand to her face.

"Then we'll just have to set the sky ablaze." Elizabeth said. Xanatos and Owen nodded.

"I suggest we hurry. There's only 12 hours before sunset." Owen said. Xanatos nodded.

"Liz. Get some sleep. You look like your going to fall asleep on your feet. I left your room alone." Xanatos said. Elizabeth didn't argue as she headed to her old room. Xanatos was right. Her room was still the same. She fell on the bed and sighed as she rolled over and let sleep take her.

An hour before sunset. Elizabeth walked into the lab to see Owen working on the steal clan and Xanatos in his gargoyle suit.

"Got one for me?" Elizabeth asked.

"I figured you stay here and keep an eye on the timer." Xanatos said. Elizabeth groaned.

"I hate being left behind." Elizabeth said.

"I know, but need someone watching the computer in case someone comes and tries something." Xanatos said. Elizabeth nodded.

"I hope your plan works David." Elizabeth said as he went to the packs.

"It will. Stop worrying." Xanatos said. Owen lifted his face shield.

"We'd best hurry. It's nearly sunset. The packs for you and the Gargoyles still need to be prepared." Owen said. Xanatos and Elizabeth picked up the packs and put the ones on the Steal Clan. A beeping came and Elizabeth and Xanatos tured to see Elisa on the screen as she was coming up in the elevator.

"Ah! The charming Detective Maza." Xanatos said.

"David. Be on your best behavor. She is still my friend and ally to the Gargoyles." Elizabeth said as she went back to the packs to get them ready for the Gargoyles. Bronx she knew would be staying with her. Elisa stepped out of the elevator. She seemed surprise to see Elizabeth there.

"What are you doing here?" Elisa asked.

"Xanatos and the Gargoyles are working to end the spell Demona casted." Elizabeth said. Elisa looked uneasy as she turned on Xanatos. Elizabeth rubbed her temples. This wasn't going to end well.

"Demona's broadcast originated at Pack Media studios. You own it. So as usual. This is your fault." Elisa said as Owen walked up to her.

"Mr. Xanatos is trying to fix things and his sister is here to help." Owen said. Elizabeth watched as the sun go down in the horizon as Elisa grabbed Owen to fight and they both freeze to stone like they were fighting.

"Well. That's one way to settle an arguement." Xanatos said as he went back to working on his robots as Elizabeth finished getting the packs ready. Elizabeth prayed that this would work as the Gargoyles came into the room.

"Perfect timing." Xanatos said. The Gargoyles spotted Elisa and Owen.

"What's Elisa doing here?" Goliath asked. Brooklyn eyed Elisa.

"She doesn't look happy." Brooklyn said.

"Owen sometimes has that effect on people." Xanatos said with a smirk. Goliath and Brooklyn came over to the steal Clan. Elizabeth started handing out the communicators to the Gargoyles. She already had hers in. Brooklyn smiled at her.

"Why have you brought out your robots?" Goliath asked.

"They're an integral part of the plan." Xanatos said.

"The spell is designed to end when the sky burns." Elizabeth explained.

"And you can make that happen?" Goliath asked.

"We can. We'll fly over the city carrying these packs." Xanatos said, nodding towards the packs set on the table. "They've been rigged to dispense a harmless hypergolic gas. Elizabeth will stay here monitoring it in case Demona shows up to try something." Xanatos said. The Gargoyles started putting the packs on. Elizabeth made sure they were secure. "At the preset time, the packs will detonate, and the gass will ignite." Elizabeth went to the computer and typed in 25 minutes. Bronz walked up to a tapestry and sniffed it, letting out a low growl. "I'll loose all my robots, but I can afford it. For 10 seconds the sky will appear to be on fire."

"Hopefully it will break the spell." Elizabeth said, looking up from the computer. Bronx started clawing at the tapestry. Elizabeth got a bad feeling as Brooklyn came up to her.

"That Tapestry's from the 12th century. Quite rare adn valuable." Xanatos said.

"Go lie down, Bronx. We'll be back soon." Brooklyn said. He hugged Elizabeth and kissed her check. "I hope." Bronx ran away.

"He's got me. He'll be fine." Elizabeth said, hugging Brooklyn back. "Stay safe."

"And are we to be sacrificed with the robots?" Goliath asked. Elizabeth shook her head.

"No. You'll have 25 minutes. Just make sure you're out of the upper atmosphere before the time runs out. I'll let you know when your getting close." Elizabeth said. Xanatos put on his helmet.

"Very well. This has to work." Goliath said, looking at the Elisa.

"I'll keep an eye on them Goliath. Don't worry." Elizabeth said. The Gargoyles headed out.

"Now." Xanatos said and Elizabeth hits a button as the Gargoyles left. Elizabeth looked out the window and watched as her brother and the steal clan took off in the air and the Gargoyles soon followed.

"I hope this works." Elizabeth whispered. Elizabeth turned and nearly gasped as Demona stepped out from behind the tapestry. She didn't seem to notice Elizabeth.

"There are secrets about this castle even you don't know, Xanatos." Demona said. She walked towards the computer. "And so nice of him to leave this computer online. That will make it easy to spoil his plans." Elizabeth saw that she was holding a mace and approached slowly so that Demona didn't see her as Demona turned to eye Elisa's statue. "But first, I'll take care of some unfinished business. I thought I'd rid myself of you long ago, human." Demona slowly approaches the statues. "Fortually that mistake is easily rectified." Demona's eyes glowed as she raised the mace. Elizabeth ran and tackled Demona to the ground. The mace was knocked out of Demona's hands. Elizabeth reached for it and Demona kicked her off. "YOU! I thought you would be with the Gargoyles." Demona said as her and Elizabeth got up.

"I can't fly like the others." Elizabeth said, charging Demona as she dived for the mace. Demona turned and swung the mace hitting Elizabeth hard in the stomach. Elizabeth felt a crack and cried out in pain as she felt some of her ribs crack. She hit the ground, clutching her stomach.

"You and that other human have been a thorn in my side since I met you. And now to find out that your in love with one of the Gargoyles. Its not natural." Demona said, approaching Elizabeth.

"You kill me, Brooklyn will hate you more." Elizabeth said, rolling onto her side, groaning in pain. Her eyes widen as Demona lifted the Mace to finish her off when Bronx charged and knocked Demona towards the Computer. "Good boy, Bronx." Demona smiled at Bronx and started petting him. Elizabeth sighed.

"It's alright my pet. Shh." Demona said. She threw down the mace. "There. Your little human friends are safe." Bronx jumps down and runs to Elizabeth, nudging her. "For now. I can keep occupied by destroying Xanatos and Goliath instead."

"You wouldn't." Elizabeth said as she used Bronx to pull herself up so she was sitting. It was hurting to stand as Bronx laid down and let her use him as support. Demona shot her an evil smirk and she feared for the Gargoyles.

"I hope they like surprises because they are going to get a big one." Demona said, wrapping her wings around herself and turns back to the computer. She starts typing. "Their gas packs will explod too soon to ignite the sky and break the spell. And far to soon for them to survive." Bronx let out a growl and bark.

"Your insane." Elizabeth said. Demona turned on her and Bronx.

"Won't that be fun? And once the others are gone, my laser cannon will take care of you two and Owen and especially her." Demona said with hatred in her voice as Elizabeth struggled to get to her feet, using Bronx for support. Demona backs towards the tapestry. "And there will be no one left to stop me." Demona pushed the tapestry back. Another figure stood behind it.

"No one, Demona?" A man came out with a mask that had three red claw marks on it. Demona backed away in fear. "You've forgotten about me. With the inhabitants of the city frozen in stone. It wasn't hard to spot all those robots and Gargoyles taking off from the world's tallest building. So I investigated and found exactly who I was looking for."

"You're too late." Demona said, pushing a button on the computer.

"NO!" Elizabeth shouted as the time was cut short. It was getting hard to breath from the pain and her eyes were watering.

"You can't save them. No one can!" Demona said.

"I'm not here for them. I'm here for you. I want it over between us." The man said.

"What is he talking about." Elizabeth whispered.

"I have hunted you through the centuries for my vengence." The hunter said. Demona crossed her arms as Elizabeth's legs gave out and she fell to her knees. Bronx stayed close to her.

"Take off your mask. You aren't fooling anyone... Macbeth." Demona said. Elizabeth looked up as MacBeth took off the hood to reveal it was him.

"Liz. Its me. Checking on the time." Brooklyn said. Elizabeth grabbed her commincator as MacBeth and Demona circled.

"Brooklyn. Guys. Demona's here. I got injured trying to protect the time. The times changed and now MacBeth is here facing down Demona." Elizabeth said.

"Xanatos and I are on our way." Goliath said in her ear.

"Goliath. I'm coming with." Brooklyn said.

"No. Help the others. Finish off what needs to be done. Xanatos and I are going to stop this." Goliath said.

"I wear this as a reminder of your treachery." MacBeth said, tossing the hood to the ground. Elizabeth wondered what really happened between the two that made each other hate each other so much.

"Let's not start that again. You blame me, I blame you. Are you tired of talking about it?" Demona asked, walking towards MacBeth.

"I'm not here to talk." MacBeth said.

"Then what? You know the rules. Killing me will gain you nothing but your own death." Demona said. Elizabeth's eyes widen at her words. So if Demona died so would MacBeth. They were somehow linked. Macbeth pulled out a gun and pointed it at Demona.

"After this long a lifetime, I have no fear of that and no desire to live in the kind of world you're creating. Revenge is a dish best eaten cold, Demona." MacBeth said. Demona started backing away from MacBeth. "And I have waited 900 years for this meal." He shot at Demona and she flew out of the way. Elizabeth sighed as the blast misses the computer. Demona jumps off a wall and flies at MacBeth, knocking him to teh ground. Bronx and Elizabeth watched the fight.

"Liz. We're getting close." Goliath said in her ear.

"Good. Cause MacBeth and Demona are fighting." Elizabeth said wathcing at the two rolled. They stood up, facing each other.

"My turn old friend." MacBeth said. He kicked Demona and both of them flinched from the pain. It confirmed Elizabeth's suspisions that the two were connected. MacBeth and Demona ran for the gun. MacBeth picked it up and him and Demona started wrestling for the gun. The gun went off, hitting the chandaleer and it crashed into the floor. Another shot was fired and hit the ground in front of Bronx and Elizabeth.

"Avalon." Elizabeth said as the floor crumbled under them. Bronx grabbed Elizabeth by the back of her shirt and she grunted as Bronx jumped away from the crumbling ground and on floor that wasn't crumbling. "Good boy." Elizabeth petted him as he let her go. Elisa and Owen's statue were starting to fall. Elizabeth heard the door open and turn to see Goliath and Xanatos quickly enter. Goliath ran towards the statues and grab them before they fell. He pulled them back up onto the floor. Xanatos helped his sister stand and they looked towards Demona.

"Demona" Xanatos shouted. Demona kicked MacBeth off her. She aimed a gun at them and Xanatos pulled Elizabeth away as she shot a blast at them. "Get to the computer." Elizabeth gritted her teeth as she ran to the computer as MacBeth ran and tackled Demona and they fell where the floor disapepared. Elizabeth tried to put in the access password.

"Not good. She changed the access password. I can't change the time." Elizabeth said, turning towards Xanatos and Goliath.

"How early are they to go off?" Goliath said.

"Ten minutes early. We need the new password. Demona is the only one that can save the city and our clan." Elizabeth said.

"Bronx. Protect Liz and Elisa." Goliath said. Goliath and Xanatos jumped down the hole.

"I'm on my way back." Brooklyn said.

"But." Elizabeth said.

"The others got it handled." Brooklyn said. Elizabeth could hear the fighting down below and it went silent. Elizabeth turned to the computer.

"Goliath. You have less then two minutes to give the access code." Elizabeth said. It was silent for a few minutes. Brooklyn stepped through the door.

"The access code is alone." Goliath said. Elizabeth quickly entered the code and she changed the time to the right time. She sighed in relief.

"Liz." Brooklyn said, jumping over as Elizabeth felt her legs give out. Brooklyn quickly caught her. Xanatos brought over bandages and Brooklyn helped her wrap her ribs up.

"Looks like I won't be going on patrols with you guys till I'm healed." Elizabeth said, groaning as Brooklyn finished.

"Hopefully not to long." Brooklyn said.

"I'll have my doctor look at me in the morning." Elizabeth said as Brooklyn helped her up. They went to the wall of the castle. The other Gargoyles joined them as the timer was almost done. Brooklyn kept an arm around Elizabeth to hold her steady as they watched as the packs exploded along with the robots. The explosion ignited the gas and the sky burned with fire.

"It worked." Elizabeth said. Xanatos looked at his sister and they met eye contact. She gave him a nod and he knew that he had earned her trust. He knew he had more to prove to her, but it was a start. The Gargoyles hurried to the door to see Elisa and Owen turn to flesh. Elizabeth grinned.

"It worked." Brooklyn said. The Gargoyles ran to Elisa and engulfed her in hugs as Owen backed away. Elizabeth ran over and hugged her friend. Owen and Xanatos just shook hands.

"Goliath. What's going on?" Elisa asked.

"We broke the spell." Goliath said. Elisa smiled. The Gargoyles headed out the door. Goliath was stopped to talk to before they flew back to the castle.

As early morning put the Gargoyles into stone sleep. Elizabeth got ready for bed. Elisa had to deal with paperwork from the last two nights and was gone. She took a few tylonals for the pain. Elizabeth laid down on the couch. She was about to close her eyes when a flash of light. Elizabeth shot up and gritted her teeth as a shot of pain shot through her. The three little girls stood in front of her.

"What? What are you doing here?" Elizabeth said.

"To see you. For a girl that doesn't know your true parents are. Your life has always been surrounded by mystery." The Blonde said.

"But yet you found love and a family even after your brother's betrayal." The White haired girl said.

"But you still wonder who your true family is." The Black haired girl said. Elizabeth was shocked at what they were saying.

"You know who my true family is?" Elizabeth said.

"Its something you will have to discover for yourself." The White haired girl said.

"But the truth is closer then you think." The blonde said. The girls started glowing.

"Wait. Who are you?" Elizabeth said.

"You'll find out some other day." The black haired girl said and the three girls disappear. Elizabeth wondered what they meant by the truh is closer then she thought. Elizabeth laid down and passed out.

AN: That was a long write. Hope you all enjoyed. I think you'll like the truth when I'm ready to reveal it. All I can say its got a ways to go before you learn the truth. Till next time.
