Well, hey, guys! Long time no see :D
I've been gone for a few reasons: (1), I needed to work on my spiritual life; I was spending WAY too much time on SpongeBob to the point of it becoming an idol (I actually left the fandom altogether at one point but decided to return to it as a hobby), and (2), I experienced a massive loss of creativity last year and even this year.
For a long time now, I've developed the terrible habit of jumping from story to story in my documents, feeling stuck on each story, trying to start a new one, and then feeling stuck AGAIN and abandoning it. Lots of self-doubts sprinkled in there. It's been a vicious cycle. But, thank the Lord, I've written this tragic mess of a poem. Lol.
I've been getting deep into poetry lately and I recently got the idea for this while watching "To Love A Patty." Why the heck was I watching one of the most-hated episodes, you may ask? 'Cause, uh… I have a weird, nostalgic liking for wildly unpopular episodes, I guess. Anyway XD
I thought of the title "Wandering Pencil" because I pictured SpongeBob writing a poem in his diary or whatever after the whole Patty incident and just letting his thoughts drift all over the place, eventually leading them to a certain someone. *wink wink*.
So, anyway, please keep in mind I don't consider myself to be a perfect or even a great poet. I know there's always room for improvement. I'm just glad I've FINALLY written something that isn't a big, long, hangin' story. I also feel like writing this has recharged my creativity a bit. I hope you enjoy it. :) Thanks for reading and God bless :D
Disclaimer: I do not own SpongeBob SquarePants or any of its characters.
A Wandering Pencil
Oh, my dear, sweet Patty,
How I loved you so!
Your warm and fluffy buns,
Your tender meat also.
If only I had had
A few more hours with you,
My heart would have been glad,
Oh, but dear Neptune!
I could not stand your fumes.
I will always remember
The way you made me feel;
Lettuce, cheese, and tomato,
You made the perfect meal.
On top of all that,
Sandwich pun intended,
You filled my tummy full,
Until it was rejected.
And now when I think back
On all the mold that grew,
My tummy tells me that
The nausea isn't through.
Gosh, this makes me sad!
And now I want to puke.
Sweet Mother of all things blue,
This almost makes me mad.
'Cause what's a sponge to do?
Oh, my dear, sweet Patty,
If only you knew.
In all my years of cooking,
I have never, ever met,
Someone who might be looking,
My way, and then– oh, wait!
Now that I think of it,
There is a certain someone,
I've known a long, long time;
But not as long as Patty.
No, not you,
The one who eats everything of mine.
You see, this girl I'm talking about,
She's always been there for me.
Like a rainbow over a cloud,
Her kindness plays out like a scene.
What kind of scene, you ask?
Well, let me tell you.
The scene that makes me cry,
Raindrops, waterfalls, oceans!
She makes me stutter, too.
A smart-sounding sentence I can't even try.
I chew up my words,
Like snails eating Snail-Po do,
She smiles, and then I blush,
A little bit cliché,
But hey, it's truly true!
Ooh, ooh, ooh!
Oops, I've rhymed the "oohs" a few too many times.
I must think of something new,
Oops, I did it again!
I guess I'm in a Patrick mood.
Anyway, about the subject before,
This girl also loves karate,
Science and acorns galore!
She's really, really smart,
That's something everybody knows.
She follows the Texas wind in her heart,
And goes where no fish goes.
"Y'all ain't seen nothin' yet!"
She told me just last week,
While helping her with an experiment,
She told me I was sweet.
Well, tee-hee-hee!
That really makes me smile.
I love visiting her tree,
After walking all those miles.
Whew, boy, does it hurt my feet!
But that's okay,
She's always worth the wait.
Sometimes when I sleep,
I dream we're on a bea-u-tiful date.
Within that sleepy hour,
We're talking, grinning, giggling,
Till there's food to devour,
My heart just keeps on singing.
And when the night is over,
She tells me the fun she's had.
In the corridor, she leans over,
And kisses my cheek red.
I place my hand against it,
As she closes the door.
"Wow, I must be dreaming!"
Then, right as I faint,
I'm suddenly awake,
"Oh, barnacles! I need more!"
It's always too bad when our dreams together end,
But maybe this Valentine's Day,
A pretty card to her I will send!
Oh, my good friend Sandy,
I wish you were here right now.
If only I'd listened to you about Patty,
I wouldn't have thrown up,
And made those awful sounds.
Oh, my dear, sweet Sandy,
How I love you so!
You're awesome, fun, just dandy!
I want to let you know.
That though you find me goofy,
Annoying, clumsy, and jerky at times,
Maybe even a tad bit stupid,
My love comes not from lies.
So, what do you say,
If your schedule's free, of course,
To a Krabby Patty this Saturday?
Small, medium, or large,
The choice is totally yours.
And I promise not to take
My eyes off you that night,
In favor of a pretty, new patty,
'Cause you're the prettiest girl in sight.
If the answer is a "yes,"
Let our hearts be filled with joy!
And if we get a Krabby Kid's Meal,
Then we can share the toy.
See you then, my dear, sweet, beautiful, fluffy Sandy,
I can hardly wait!
To give you flowers, hugs, and candy,
And to laugh with you all day.
Oh, Sandy, Sandy, Sandy,
You sure do make a sponge happy.
And now, thanks to you,
I've forgotten all about–
Wait, who's Patty?
