Elizabeth sat at the table with the Maza family that night. The Maza family always had considered her family with her dating Derek even after the break up and being friends with Elisa. The Trio would be picking her up later for a rock concert in the park after the supper. Elisa brought to the table some food and set it on the table. Elisa's sister was visiting for college so it was a family get together.
"Mmm. That smells good, Elisa." Elizabeth said with a grin.
"Not bad, sis. A cop who can cook!" Beth said, earning a laugh from Elizabeth.
"Liz helped as well. We should have our own cable show." Elisa said. She started scooping out a bowl for her father. "Its your favorite, dad. Mom's Chicken Mole." Mr. Maza took the plate from her. Elisa handed plates out to Elizabeth and the family and then sat down.
"Remember how Derek used to call dibs on the pot?" Beth asked. Elisa looked down sad as Elizabeth took a bite out of her food, looking down. "Oh, me and my big mouth. I take a break from school and my brain goes into neutral."
"Habe you heard from your brother?" Mr. Maza asked.
"Not yet, but I'm sure he's fine." Elisa said.
"What about you, Elizabeth. Even after both of you broke up, you stayed close." Mrs. Maza said.
"Nothing yet, but you know what Derek's like, he'll check in when he's ready." Elizabeth said.
"One more week and filing a report." Mr. Maza said.
"Now, dad, don't get." Beth gasps interupting her sister. "What's wrong?" Beth pointed to the window.
"I thought I saw someone looking in the window." Beth said.
"We're on the top floor, Beth." Elisa said.
"Well, it looked like it had wings." Beth said.
"Right and I have webbed feet." Elisa said.
"And a great duck impersonation." Mr. Maza said, making wings with his arms and quacks, making everyone laugh. Elisa and Elizabeth shared worried looks, wondering if Goliath stopped by.
"So Elisa says your seeing someone. Did you ask him to join us?" Mrs. Maza asked.
"He's out working tonight and couldn't join." Elizabeth said.
"Hope he treats you good. Sad what happened with you and Derek." Mr. Maza said.
"He is, dad. I told you." Elisa said.
"Derek and I just had differences. We are just good friends." Elizabeth said. Mr. Maza nodded. They ate in silence as they enjoyed the food.
The Mazas left and the Trio arrived as the girls were putting the food away.
"Hey Elisa, Liz." Broadway said.
"Hey guys." Elizabeth said.
"Did any of you three stop by tonight?" Elisa asked. The Trio shared confused looks.
"No we just got here." Brooklyn said.
"What's going on?" Lexington said.
"My sister saw someone at the window and said they had wings." Elisa said.
"Weird." Elizabeth said.
"I'm gonna head to talk to Goliath." Elisa said.
"Ready to go to the concert?" Brooklyn asked. Elizabeth nodded.
"Go have fun you four." Elisa said. The four head onto the porch and Brooklyn picked up Elizabeth as they jumped on the ledge and flew towards the park.
"I wonder." Elizabeth said.
"What is it?" Brooklyn asked.
"If it wasn't you three and possibly not Goliath. Could have it been Derek at the window." Elizabeth said.
"We haven't see the Mutates since they were at your brothers." Brooklyn said.
"They might be back. Goliath said they were back by your brother." Broadway said. Elizabeth groaned.
"I want to enjoy the night. I don't want to think of my brother." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn gave a nod as they landed across the lake from the park. It was an outside park so there was no where for the Gargoyles to hide. The band was starting and the Gargoyles sat listening to the music. Elizabeth stood in the water with rocks and skipping the water. Her body was swaying to the music.
She squealed as Brooklyn came up behind her and spun her around. He twirled her and brought her to him and dipped her. She laughed.
"You looked like you needed a distration." Brooklyn said.
"Thank you." Elizabeth said, putting her hand behind his neck and pulls his head down to kiss him. She returned the kiss.
"Will you two get a room!" Broadway called. Brooklyn pulled away and Elizabeth rolled her eyes at Broadway.
"You guys are more then welcome to leave." Elizabeth said as Brooklyn pulled her up straight.
"We're good." Lexington said.
"Then stop complaining." Brooklyn growled, sending a stone at Broadway as he took a bite out of some food.
"Ow." Broadway said. Elizabeth chuckled.
"Maybe one day they will find someone to love and will understand." Elizabeth said, hugging Brooklyn.
"Maybe." Brooklyn said, wrapping an arm around her and hugs her close.
It was a few hours before the concert was over. Elizabeth was so happy to spend time with the Trio as the Gargoyles flew back to the tower. Brooklyn led the way as they land on the balcony. Brooklyn set Elizabeth down.
"Whoo! That guaitarist can really wail." Brooklyn said, pretending to strum a air guaitar.
"And the music was incredibly loud! Even from across the lake!" Broadway said. Elizabeth saw no one coming out to greet them.
"Hey. Where is everyone? I thought Hudson was staying in tonight." Elizabeth said. Something wasn't right.
"Hudson? Bronz?" Broadway called, running for the door..
"Look out, lads, lass. It's a trap!" Hudson yelled. Ligths came like electricity came and Hudson yelled in pain. The Tiger Mutate jumped out and tackled Brodway into a rail. Elizabeth put a hand to her mouth.
"Welcome home." Elizabeth and the others turn to see the Cougar like mutate standing on a building waiting for them. He flies towards them. "Isn't it past your bedtime." He punches Lexington sending him flying into the wall and Elizabeth jumps on him. He yells and grabs Elizabeth by the hair and send her flying into the ground. Elizabeth grunts as she hits the ground. She looks up to see him about to send Electricity at her.
"Don't touch her!" Brooklyn growled tackling him off the building. Elizabeth gets up to see Brooklyn and the panther take off in the air and fly. Elizabeth ran towards the door.
"Hudson!" Elizabeth called. She saw him chained and Bronx chewing at the chains to break Hudson free. A lion was standing there. "Maggie?" Maggie turned and eyes widen. "Why?" Maggie shook her head.
"Come out and fight like a man." Elizabeth turned to see Brooklyn fly by the door and the Couger come flying up. Brooklyn flew over one of the clock hands as the Couger flew towards him.
"I'm not a man. I'm a gargoyle." Brooklyn said. He flew down and kicked the Couger to the ground. Brooklyn pinned him as Elizabeth ran over to help him. "You alright?" Brooklyn looked at her.
"I'm fine." Elizabeth said. Broadway roars and sends the Tiger into the railing, bending it. Lexington and Broadway wrap him up in the rail.
"Are Bronx and Hudson ok?" Brooklyn asked as he and Elizabeth stood up and went towards the door. Bronx ran to the door with chains in his mouth and dropped them to the ground. Hudson came out pullign Maggie.
"Here's the one that led them to us." Hudson said. Maggie looked down. Brooklyn and Elizabeth shared looks.
In the clock tower. Brooklyn had tied up the Couger in chains. Bronx sat guarding them as the Tiger woke up. Bronx growled. Brooklyn and Elizabeth stood around Maggie as she sat in Hudson's chair.
"Look, you've gotta get over this persecution complex." Brooklyn said.
"We aren't your enemies." Elizabeth said.
"But Talon says Goliath and Sevarius planned it all together." Maggie said. Elizabeth nearly facepalmed. She was gonna beat her brother to a pulp when she got her hands on him.
"Maggie, you know I wanted to be your friend." Elizabeth said. Maggie looked at her with sad eyes. "Goliath and Brooklyn were there to save you, not hurt you. If Sevarius has a parnter, its Xanatos." Maggie stood up with anger in her face.
"There you go again! Mr. Xanatos is our only chance for a cure." Maggie walks away as she talks. She turns and looks at Brooklyn and Elizabeth. "If you'd lie about him, you'd lie about anything." Elizabeth puts a hand to her face.
"So now I have to prove, I'm trustworthy, huh?" Brooklyn said with a sigh. Brooklyn goes over and grabs Maggie and pulls her up the steps with Elizabeth behind him. "Take them outside." The Gargoyles did what they are told and they step on the balcony. Brooklyn freed them as the others wait for him but Elizabeth stood with Brooklyn. "You're free to go. Return to Xanatos if that's what you want."
"But don't turn your back on him." Elizabeth said. Maggie looked at them and saw that Elizabeth was serius. The Mutates took off. Brooklyn put a hand on Elizabeth's shoulder as they step into the clocktower.
"You sure you're doing the right thing, lad?" Hudson asked as they stepped in.
"My brother can't keep up the pretense forever." Elizabeth said. Brooklyn nodded in agreement.
"Sooner or later, they'll find out what he's really like." Brooklyn said. The gargoyles nodded in agreement.
An hour later. Elizabeth and Brooklyn were curled up on the couch watching tv when Elizabeth got a phone call.
"What is it Elisa?" Elizabeth asked.
"Can you and Brooklyn meet me at one of the old labatories of Gen-U-Tech? I'll explain when you get here." Elisa asked. Elizabeth looked at Brooklyn. He nodded.
"We'll be right there." Elizabeth said. Elisa sent the cordinants Elizabeth and Brooklyn run to the balcony. Brooklyn picked her up as they run and they flew to the underground labatory of Gen-U-Tech. Elisa was waiting as Brooklyn landed.
"What's going on Elisa?" Brooklyn asked.
"Goliath has Sevarius prisoner here. I think to make a cure for Talon and Mutates. I just need you here in case Talon shows up. I get a feeling Xanatos is gonna tell him. He listens to you more then me." Elisa said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth nodded. They head down and into the underground area for the labatory. They found Goliath and Sevarius working a la
"I really dislike working with someone hanging over my shoulder." Sevarius said, turning to look at Goliath. He sees Elisa, Elizabeth, and Brooklyn in the doorway. "Oh Wonderful. Now there's four of you." Goliath turned to see his friends behind him. Goliath approaches as the three step in.
"How did you find me?" Goliath asked.
"When I found out you'd taken Sevarius, I knew you'd need a place for him to work. Where else would you go?" Elisa said. Goliath looked at Sevarius.
"Don't stop on our behalf, Doctor." Goliath growled. Sevarius gets back to work.
"Goliath. You've kidnapped this man. What were you thinking?" Elizabeth asked.
"I did it for Elisa." Goliath said.
"Me?" Elisa said.
"You were in so much pain, I oculdn't stand by and do nothing. Besides I feared what would happen if Talon got to Sevarius first." Goliath said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth were watching Sevarius work. Elizabeth wondered if he was making a cure for the Mutates or a poison. She didn't trust him."I doubt the doctor would have survived long enough to find a cure."
"We're not gonna get a cure this way, either. We can't trust Sevarius." Elizabeth said.
"I agree." Brooklyn said. Elisa nodded.
"How would we know that his cure was safe? Who would we test it on?" Elisa asked. She put her hands on Goliath's shoulders. "Look. I know your heart was in the right place, but this isn't the answer. Even if it works the ends can't justify the means. That's the way Xanatos behaves, not you."
"She's right Goliath." Elizabeth said. Goliath sighs a he looks at Sevarius.
"You're right, of course. We'll release him" Goliath said. Sevarius turned, holding up a vile.
"By George, I think I've. Talon broke through the door and entered the room.
"Talon!" Elizabeth said.
"Elisa, Liz! I knew Goliath and Sevarius were in this together, but I can't believe you're helping them!" Talon said, pointing at the girls.
"Derek, that's now how it is. Listen to me!" Elisa said. Brooklyn had to grab the girls and pull them out of the way as Talon attacked Goliath and sent them flying into the glass.
"Derek! No! Stop." Elizabeth shouted. Brooklyn ran towards Goliath and grabbed Talong, trying to pull him off as the two wrestled. Sevarius went running put the Cougar grabbed him and held him up.
"Going somewhere." The Cougar said. Talon sent energy flying at Goliath as the Tiger ran to help and threw Brooklyn off. Elizabeth grabs Talon.
"Stay back Liz. Claw hold her!" Talon said. Claw grabbed Elizabeth and Elisa and held her in place. Goliath goes to get up but Talon comes up and picks him up and throws him into the wall. Brooklyn struggled to get up.
"Talon please." Elisa said as Talon lit up and started shooting the wall then cealing bringing debree onto Goliath.
"Goliath!" Brooklyn called. Claw brought the girls up to Talon as the Cougar which Elizabeth heard Maggie say Fang bring Sevarius over.
"Bring Sevarius here. They can die together." Talon said, his hands lighting up.
"NO!" Elizabeth shouted.
"Derek. You can't." Maggie said as Fang let go of Sevarius.
"He won't." Sevarius said. He held up the vile. "This is the antidote. There's only enough for one, but I can make more. Enough for each of you. All I want in return is my safety and my freedom."
"I'm long past caring about your antidotes." Talon said.
"Me too. I like this body." Fang said.
"I just want to see you pay for your crimes." Talon said, coming nose to nose with Sevarius. Brooklyn stood up and walked over to Claw.
"Let the girls go." Brooklyn growled. Claw let the girls go and moved away.
"What about what we want?" Maggie asked. She went up to Talon. "Please Derek. Is your vengeance more important than our humanity?" Talon turned his back on her.
"Give it to her." Talon said.
"Why let her take it? You deserve it more." Sevarius said. Elizabeth eyes widen. She had a feeling.
"What do you care?" Fang said, grabbing the cure and tossing it to Maggie.
"Good question." Brooklyn said.
"If he's gonna make enough for everyone, why care who takes it first?" Elizabeth said.
"She's right. That's not a cure. It's a poison. He wants me out of the way." Talon said.
"No, it is a cure! It has to be." Maggie said.
"Maggie for once. Listen to us." Brooklyn said.
"Of course it's a cure. You must trust me." Sevarius said.
"I think that ship has sailed Doctor." A blast comes knocking Fang off his feet. Elizabeth and Brooklyn turn to see Xanatos standing in his red Gargoyle suit with the steal clan.
"David." Elizabeth said. He pulls off his helmet.
"You always overplay your hand, Anton." Xanatos said. Talon looked towards Goliath as he was shaking the rubble off him.
"I don't believe it! Goliath wasn't Sevarius' partner. It was you all along!" Sevarius goes running. Talon points a finger at Xanatos. "I truste you. You turned me into a monster and I defended you!" Talon goes to approach Xanatos and Xanatos shoots the floor in front of Talon.
"I am sorry things turned out this way." Xanatos said.
"No your not." Elizabeth said, crossing her arms. Xanatos looks at her and looks back at Talon.
"We'd all be happier if you'd remained in the dark, but I can't let you damage Anton. He's a bit of a bother, but his mind represents infinite possibilities. He's the scientist. You're just the experiment." Elizabeth rolled her eyes as Goliath stood up, rubbing his head. "Oh, Hello, Goliath. Didn't even notice you there." Sevarius started backing towards the door.
"You know, that could be a vial of poison. Of course. There's only one way to find out." Sevarius said, leaving. Xanatos goes right behind him. Elizabeth and Elisa walked up to Talon.
"Oh Elisa, Liz. I'm sorry." Talon said. The girls put hands on his shoulder.
"Hus its all right." Elisa said.
"You were fooled by my brother. We all were." Elizabeth said. Talon smiled.
"He just tryign to scare us." They turn to see Maggie, still holding the vial. She holds it up to her mouth.
"Maggie no!" Talon said, running up to her.
"Don't you see? Sevarius doesn't want his experiment to end, but this is the cure!" Maggie said.
"You don't know that. The risk is too great." Talon said.
"Any risk is better than living as a monster." Maggie said. Talon grabbed her chin. Elizabeth smiled. She had a feeling the two were seeing each other.
"I am a monster." Talon said, giving her a sad look. Maggie turned away from him.
"But you're strong, stronger than me. I can't live this way." Maggie said, shaking her head. Talon grabbed her gently and turned her to face him.
"I couldn't either. Not without you. Maggie. We're not strong alone. We're strong together." Talon said. Elizabeth looked at Brooklyn and saw him watching the two. He looked at her and she smiled. Talon was right. Maggie handed him the vial.
"What do we do now?" Maggie asked. Elizabeth and Brooklyn join Goliath and Elisa.
"Return with me to the clock tower. Join my clan." Goliath said. Elizabeth and Elisa smile.
"You. You would accpet up? After how I've treated you?" Talon asked.
"Elisa and Elizabeth are already part of our clan." Goliath said.
"That make you all family." Brooklyn said. Goliath nodded.
"Thank you, Goliath." Talon said, wrapping an arm around Maggie and Claw and Fang join him. "But it seems I have my own clan and my own family." Talon said. Elizabeth ran over and hugged him.
"Glad your back." Elizabeth said.
"Its good to be back." Talon said.
"Me and Liz are gonna head back." Brooklyn said.
"We'll join you later." Goliath said. Brooklyn and Elizabeth leave and head home.
AN: So I'm gonna join part of Avalon and Kingdom together. Elizabeth won't be going with. Figure it be easier
