Yo!

It has been a while again... I already apologized for it two times, once on discord and once on pat-reaon, but I might as well do it again. So I would like to apologize to those that waited long for this chapter or even voted for it on pat-reon. IRL and my thesis defense decided to fuck me over and take almost a month out of my life. Thankfully, I managed to push through it all and pass everything I had to. I'm done and I hope that in the nearest future I will be able to accomplish everything I planned in writing.

Unfortunately with this chapter and AN comes another disappointment for the fans of this story. It is once more going on hiatus. For how long? I don't know, though I hope it won't be longer than 2-3 weeks. That is due to the fact that I can't focus on writing this story. I had to force myself to finish this chapter and that isn't healthy in writing. It still came out pretty well, I'm even happy about the second half of this chapter, but I still need some more time to reevaluate what to do with "Forgotten". Sorry again and I really hope that I won't have to abandon this. If you have any questions about this story, what happened etc, just contact me via PM or join my discord.

That's it for today's AN. Again sorry for the long delay. Enjoy.

PS: Links for my discord server, pat-reon, and my original story will be available at the end of the chapter.

Chapter 11. The Daughter

[Sirius Orion Black, the Dogfather (Rank: E/D)

Race: Wizard

Power: 8312 (Recovering: 43%)

Sirius Black is the last alive male of the once prestigious House of Black. Unfairly tossed into the deadly Azkaban prison, he barely managed to keep his sanity thanks to his animagus form and the hope to once again see his precious daughter and godson. Despite everything the man went through, his maturity still remains questionable.]

Daughter? Harry frowned as the various Wizengamot members slowly left the chamber. From the research he and Charlus did in the past few weeks, they found not even a single mention about a possible family that Sirius could have. Not that they looked for such things, but they still performed quite extensive research about the man and his actions in the last war. Did he hide her? And what about the mother? The description doesn't say anything about a wife or someone close.

Waving the information away, Harry turned his gaze towards Charlus who left his seat and descended towards the center of the chamber. There Sirius was still looking around with eyes wide, probably still not believing that after almost ten years he once again was free. As much as Harry wanted to join them and ask his many questions, his grandfather warned him against it. Charlus wanted to talk with Sirius alone and give the man a quick rundown of the events in the last few years.

And so Harry just sat there, his gaze jumping from one person to another. His 'Observe' maybe didn't give him that much information about their lives, but even the small snippets could be useful in understanding more of the wizarding world. Reading books about the history of this hidden world was one thing, experiencing everything in person was a completely different case. Besides Harry was curious about the Power levels of the most important wizards and witches in Britain.

The majority of them didn't break the twenty thousand power range. Hell, some didn't even reach the ten thousand mark so that was saying something about the capabilities of the "presumably" powerful governing body. Though Harry didn't really have any other beings to compare with. The demons he encountered were as strong as normal humans and he couldn't use 'observe' during his visions to check the power of the Akiari children and teachers. At least from what Harry managed to find out during his trip to Diagon, most of the magical kids ranged somewhere between hundred and a few thousand Power.

Maybe inspecting some magical creatures would be a good idea. Harry mussed, falling back into his chair. At this point, the chamber was almost empty with Charlus and Sirius talking in the center while Dumbledore along with Madam Bones waited by the exit. I wonder what the two want. Some Ministry business?

Harry sighed and crossed his arms, none at all impressed that he had to sit here while the adults talked. Oh he knew that Charlus would tell him anything important later, or so the boy hoped, but it didn't change the fact that it had been more than an hour since the trial started and Harry had enough of just sitting still. He had to constantly stop himself from summoning a small ball of darkness to occupy his mind. Who knew if wizards had any sort of surveillance around. Something to ask his grandfather about later.

Minute after minute passed as Harry drummed his fingers on the armrest while he tried to make out what the heated discussion down below was about. His grandfather had his eyes narrowed as he glared down at Sirius who tried to make himself as small as possible. Harry frowned, withholding a growl. Just what is going on down there?

His gaze wandered to the door to his left that led to the stands within the chamber. Harry tried to find the possible pros and cons of just going through and joining the conversation, but he stopped himself yet again. Charlus was good to him until now and Harry really didn't want to break the trust they established in the past few weeks. But please for the love of gods, can you hurry up?! Harry screamed internally.

As if the heavens heard him, down in the chamber Charlus released a heavy sigh before he turned towards the visitor window. A single nod from his grandfather was all Harry needed to jump off his chair and rush straight for the door. He had half mind to just slam it open for making him wait for so long. In the end though, Harry took a deep breath and just slowly slid past the door and descended towards his supposed godfather and grandfather.

The ex-convict's head snapped towards Harry the moment he stepped into the chamber while his eyes grew wide. Why? Harry wasn't so sure. It could be because he just saw his godson for the first time in years. Or it could be because of Harry's current appearance. After all, he looked a bit different than the public expected, adding to that his mismatched eyes that Harry had no reason to hide and everyone could be a bit surprised by his appearance.

"H-harry?" the gaunt man stuttered, his eyes flickering in every direction. Maybe searching for a way out, suddenly not ready to meet Harry. Whether that was the case or not, the boy had no clue.

Gulping, Harry straightened up and gave the Black a polite nod, just like Charlus taught him. "Hello, Mr. Black." Sirius' gaze darted from Harry to Charlus and then back to the boy a few times. Only when Harry spoke again did Sirius' stare stop on him again. "Mr. Black?"

A loud sigh came from Harry's left. "You will need to forgive Sirius, Harry, but he is still in a daze from everything that happened today. Add to that his long stay in Azkaban and well... You get this," Charlus said, eyes narrowing as he pointed at Sirius. "And you lad say something or I will kick your arse."

"Harry," Sirius finally managed to get out. Harry almost snickered when he noticed Charlus rolling his eyes and muttering something under his nose. If the young boy had to bet it definitely was some kind of a curse. Harry already learned a few new ones just from living with his grandfather for a few weeks. The man was like a thick compendium of curses and Harry had to wonder where he learned all of them. Not even Vernon and his dirty mouth could match Charlus on a bad day.

"I'm sorry," Sirius said again, snapping Harry out of his musings. "I'm so sorry. If only I wasn't so stupid to chase the damn rat. Charlus told me where you had to live and this is all my fault. I lost years of watching you and my daughter grow because I was so bloody stupid. I'm sorry Harry. I know that words won't repay you for everything you had to go through, but please can you forgive me and give me a chance? A chance to be the godfather that Lily and James wanted me to be?"

Tears flowed freely down Sirius' cheeks and Harry froze, not sure what to do here. The man obviously regretted what had done, but it wasn't like every tragedy in Harry's life was Sirius' fault. It was just the combination of a lot of unfortunate events and decisions. Oh sure, Sirius could have handled the aftermath of James' and Lily's death a lot better, but like they say "What's done is done".

Besides...

Grimacing, Harry looked the Black straight in the eyes. "There is nothing to forgive, Mr. Black. You did what you thought was necessary and paid the price. If what grandfather has told me about Azkaban is true, then in the last decade you suffered a lot more than any innocent should."

Sirius' body shook with another sob and in the corner of his vision, Harry saw Charlus giving him a nod. "You are wrong," Sirius muttered. "I deserved everything I got and more, but I won't throw this chance away. I will do everything to repay you for the years lost as soon as I find my daughter. I need to know what happened to her."

Harry frowned, the subject of the mysterious daughter coming up again. Glancing at Charlus, he saw the man give a deep sigh. "Apparently your godfather here has a daughter that should be somewhere around your age. How the hell goblins missed that, I have no clue," he finished in a mutter. "And you Sirius are not going anywhere until you recover. I won't have a half-dead wizard running around the world he doesn't even understand, searching for a needle in the haystack," Charlus snapped at the cowering Black.

"But-" Sirius tried to speak up, only to be shot down by another glare.

"You created enough mess boy, now let people smarter than you fix it," Charlus growled. "You will go to St. Mungos and stay that until you recover. And trust me you won't leave until you are healthy, I will make sure of that. As for your daughter," he added, probably noticing Sirius regain some of his courage and opening his mouth again. "I'm going to find her. I have some people that still owe me and might be of use in searching for a little witch. I just need any information you can give me about her and the mother..."

Like a switch was flipped, Sirius paled, his body freezing in a matter of seconds. "Oh no," he mumbled. "She will kill me. I'm a dead man walking."

"Bloody hell," Charlus sighed. "What in the gods' name are you blabbering about now!?"

Suddenly Harry was glad that everyone already left the Winzegamot chamber. At least there wouldn't be any witnesses when his grandfather finally had enough and decided to murder Black. Even Dumbledore and Madam Bones left, though they probably waited at the other side of the entrance door. No way that they gave up so easily.

Somewhat recovering from his panic attack, Sirius glanced all around, his eyes flickering to the door and the observer box. Charlus apparently understood the actions as he fished out a small stone out of his robes and grabbed it tightly. Almost instantly Harry shivered as a wave of magic washed over him. A ward. Privacy?

"Here. Now talk, Sirius, and leave nothing out. Understood?" Charlus glowered, earning a quick nod from Black.

"Charlus you know how I was with women in school and after right?" Sirius said, glancing at Harry for a second for some reason. A reason that he suddenly was very curious about when Charlus sighed.

"Sirius, I swear to god, I will kill you if you try to spin a tale about one of your conquests. I don't care about your intimate life and neither does Harry. Just tell us what we need to know." Charlus growled and Harry gaped as everything clicked into place. He might be a ten-year-old, but a very curious one, though he mostly learned about sex from his aunt Petunia who just couldn't help herself but rant about her neighbors every bloody day. The rest was history and Harry couldn't understand why Sirius was so uncomfortable about it. There must be something I'm missing...

Another glance from Sirius confirmed that thought, but Harry pushed it to in the back of his mind. He could wonder about it later. Adults could be really weird sometimes and overcomplicate things without a reason.

"Not that long after you went into a coma and the war began to rage through entire Britain, Dumbledore decided that it might be wise to get help outside the country by ourselves as ICW wasn't too helpful in that area. Some in the order thought it was a waste of time, but we went along with the plan anyway. It wasn't like we had any better ideas..." Sirius finished with a mutter.

"Some of us got sent to countries all over Europe, others traveled across the pond, while I was forced to travel to Japan's wizarding community... It was a pain. They didn't want to hear a word I said. Apparently, they finished dealing with some smaller Dark Lord not that long ago and wanted nothing to do with another war," he sighed, running a hand through his long, greasy hair.

"And so a day before my scheduled return I decided to hit the city, have some fun, forget about the war waiting for me back home... It was the day I met her, charming and beautiful beyond measure, a goddess on earth," for the first time since Harry saw the man, his eyes glowed with unnatural intensity as if finally coming back to life. And the chuckle he let out was full and throaty, though the boy sensed the tint of a hollowness within. "I didn't know how right I was until much later..." Sirius suddenly added.

Both Harry's and Charlus' eyes grew wide. "She was a true goddess?" The elder Potter voiced both of their thoughts, though Harry's mind also began to slowly wander to a person he spotted not that long ago.

Demigoddess and witch. And the last name. It can't be a coincidence.

"Indeed," Sirius nodded, bringing Harry back to reality. "Amaterasu, the Shinto goddess of the Sun. The most beautiful and wonderful person in the world and the first woman who seduced me, not the opposite."

To Harry's left, Charlus snorted. "Serves you right... Now get to the point. I understand the girl is a demigoddess born from this meeting, but it doesn't explain why no one knows about her."

Sirius sighed, his shoulders slumping. "Amaterasu left before I even woke up after our night together and only appeared in front of my house almost two years later, a small bundle in hands. She then explained to me who she really was, that she could only raise her daughter for the first year due to the laws placed on her pantheon, and that now I had to take care of Alya... Which I of course did with some rare visits from Amaterasu, but I never told anyone about her, not even James. I wanted Alya to be as safe as she could, and only I, Amaterasu, and my house elf knew about my little girl... And because I didn't trust anyone with my biggest secret, now I don't even know where she is."

Once more tears freely flowed down Sirius' face as he slowly slid towards the floor, not that Harry even registered this fact. He had a much more important thing going through his mind. A confirmation. Alya Black. Demigoddess and a witch. Lives in one of the Children's Homes in London. Harry withheld a groan. Yeah, no way it was a coincidence that we saw each other. Maybe Amaterasu is trying to help her daughter? Could she? Could she know that I have the ability to recognize someone with just a glance? I don't get it...

Gasping, Harry turned to the hand that landed on his shoulder. "Everything alright, Harry?" Charlus' voice was soft and quiet, but the narrowed gaze told Harry enough. He had been found and his grandfather wouldn't leave without some kind of answer. Not that Harry didn't want to give one, just not now and with Black creating puddles on the Wizengamot's floor.

Nodding towards the still sobbing Sirius, Harry whispered. "Yes, just something I remembered suddenly."

Charlus frowned but nodded nonetheless, "Guess we will talk later." Turning again the elder Potter growled, "Get off the floor, Sirius. Don't act like a child, we are going to find her and you will see her soon enough. Though how you will explain your idiocy to a Shinto goddess is entirely up to you." Sirius only sat there, his eyes wide and skin going paler than it already was. Which in itself was quite an accomplishment in Harry's opinion.

Charlus evidently didn't agree or he just had enough of Sirius' mood swings as he almost instantly yanked the Black by his arm and began to drag him towards the doors. They had to stop for a minute and exchange a few words with Dumbledore and Madam Bones, but from there, things went pretty smoothly. Not even an hour later the Potter duo was leaving St. Mungos with Sirius left in the good hands of Charlus' friend. Though for some reason Harry doubted that Black would enjoy his stay there.

"So Harry," Charlus spoke as the two walked back into muggle London. "What happened back in the Wizengamot chambers?"

Harry grimaced, his mind racing. He had to give his grandfather the information about Alya's whereabouts, but he had to do it without revealing the existence of the System. He really didn't want to explain that. Explaining Rigna's existence and actions was hard enough...

Taking a deep breath, Harry looked up to his grandfather. "You remember how I explained that my race possesses some unique abilities?" Charlus nodded. "And how I'm even more special than normal Akari?" Another nod. "You see I have an ability that Rigna gave me so I would never rush into battle without at least some kind of information. It pretty much allows me to look at someone and learn basic information about them."

"Truly?" Charlus hummed, stroking his chin. "A pretty useful ability, but how does it explain your reaction? Did you find anything after you checked Sirius?"

Harry shook his head, "No. When Sirius mentioned his daughter's name and status, I remembered someone I checked when you led me into Leaky Cauldron for the first time... Alya Black, a girl about my age, with my ability practically screaming about her divine aura. She was traveling alongside a large group of children and I think I know where we should start our search."

Harry's story might have not been the best and he had to reveal another ability of his, but the look he received from his grandfather in return was well worth it. Grinning, Harry sped up a bit. They still had to get dinner before their task and this day was beginning to get very interesting.

The wizarding world is truly the epitome of madness.

And that's it.
