Venomous:

I was standing in front of the full length mirror in my room wearing a Coral Button Through Tie Front Top, Coral Aztec Mini Skirt and Sueded Side Bow Mary Jane Pump when I noticed Scott leaning on the door frame waiting to get my attention.

"Hey, twin. What's up?" I asked him with a smile as I moved to stand in front of my vanity table across from the door and I noticed that he was nervously fidgeting with the edge of his shirt.

"I need your help." He told me tentatively and I paused in my movement to raise an eyebrow at him in question before continuing to apply my mascara. He sighed dramatically as he took a step into my bedroom and headed straight over to my bed to sit on the edge tentatively while I finished my make up in the vanity mirror. I turned around to ask him what it was he wanted when I noticed his second hand laptop sitting open on his lap and I frowned in confusion as to what it was he needed my help with.

"Scott, what's going on?"

"Last night, Allison, Stiles and I broke into Gerard's office and stole the USB drive that has the bestiary on it but it's it another language so we need you to translate it." Scott explained to me quickly and I felt my eyebrows rise in surprise before I hurried over to the bed to take the laptop from his hands.

"This is in Archaic Latin!" I exclaimed in surprise as I stare wide eyed at the unrecognisable words typed on to the document in front of me before I looked up to give Scott a pointed look.

"Exactly. This is why we need you to translate it for us."

"As flattering as it is that you think I can, little brother, I can't read Archaic Latin." I protested with a scowl as I scrolled down the document to see if I could see any words that I could recognise.

"I thought you could read Latin." Scott said incredulously as he stood up from the bed and I rolled my eyes at his naivety as I handed him back the laptop.

"I can. But there's a difference between Latin and Archaic Latin. Non idem, fratris." I told him in fluent Latin as I collected my bag from the chair near the door and I saw him rolled his deep brown eyes at me from the corner of my eye.

I walked into chemistry class later that day with a happy smile on my face when I saw the newly proven innocent Isaac sitting at one of the desks with Erica. I hadn't seen Isaac yet so I ran up behind him and wrapped my arms around his neck with a squeal.

"Whoa." Isaac exclaimed in surprise as I giggled into his ear and Erica smirked at us from her seat beside him. Isaac chuckled at me as he reached up to touch my arm with his hand and I pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek as I let go of him.

"Good to see you out of your manacles." I teased him with a cheeky smile as I moved to lean my hip against the desk and he smirked at me as Erica quirked an eyebrow.

"I have a feeling you like a little bondage." Erica whispered almost seductively as she leaned forward with a smile and I raised my eyebrows at her in surprise at her candour but I was happy to see her acting more confident now that she was a werewolf. I blew her kiss as I pushed myself off of the desk and both of the betas smirked at me as I passed them to sit down next to Allison at the desk next to them.

"Einstein once said, "Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity; And I'm not sure about the universe." I myself have encountered infinite stupidity." Mr Harris said as he walked down the space in between the desks and patted Stiles on the shoulder as he passed making me smother I laugh into my hand. "So to combat the plague of ignorance in my class, you're going to combine efforts through a round of group experiments. Let's see if two heads are indeed better than one. Or in Mr. Stilinski's case, less than one. Erica, you take the first station. You'll start with - I didn't ask for volunteers. Put your hormonal little hands down. Start with Mr McCall. All right, next two." Mr Harris said to the class and I tuned out as I moved to seat next to someone that I didn't know.

"If you harm one perfect strawberry blonde hair on her head, I'm gonna turn your little werewolf ass into a fur coat and give it to her as a birthday present." I heard Stiles say from his desk near the front so I frowned in confusion as I glanced up to see him sitting next to Isaac and I brushed a piece of my hair behind my ear so that I could listen closer to their conversation.

"Really? I've never actually been to one of her big, invite-only birthday parties. I did ask her out once though." Isaac replied to Stiles casually and I froze in my seat in surprise because I hadn't known that.

"Sounds like the beginning to a heartfelt story. I'm gonna pass, thanks."

"It was the first day of freshman year –" Isaac started to explain as he ignored Stiles and I leaned forward in my seat to listen more closely.

"And you thought everything was gonna be different for you in high school, but she said no." Stiles interrupted spitefully as I bit my lower lip in confusion as to why they were even talking about this in the first place.

"Yeah. Yeah, she even laughed. Told me to come back when the bike I rode to school had an engine, not a chain."

"Mm, unrequited love's a bitch. Maybe you should write about it in English class, you know? Channel all that negative energy."

"Nah, I was thinking I'd channel it into killing her. I'm not very good at writing." Isaac said almost gleefully as he stood up from the desk and I froze again in shock as my eyes widened in horror at his words.

"Swap!" Mr Harris snapped impatiently from the front of the classroom and I frowned to myself as the person next to me stood up to move to a new station. I looked down at my workbook as I felt someone sit down on the stool next to me and I tensed when I recognised Isaac's scent.

"Sophie." He greeted me calmly and I could hear the smirk in his voice so I rolled my eyes without looking away from my book. "Are you okay?"

"Peachy." I replied in a clipped tone as I turned the page of my book and he leaned his elbows on the table so that his mouth was by my ear.

"I don't believe you." He whispered lowly so that the other werewolves in the room couldn't hear him and I sighed slightly as I turned my body to face him without looking at him.

"I don't care what you believe, Isaac."

"Then why won't you look at me?"

"I'm not looking at you because if I do I might end up slapping that smirk right off your face." I hissed at him harshly as I finally lifted my head to glare at him and he jerked his head back in surprise at the venom in my voice. "I heard what you said to Stiles."

"And you're angry about Lydia." He guessed with a heavy sigh as he looked away from me and I shook my head at him as I pursed my lips together.

"That's not the part of the story I'm pissed about." I corrected him softly as I started writing in my book and he crinkled his forehead in confusion at me.

"Swap!" Mr Harris called out again irritably and I quickly stood up from my seat at the same time as Isaac did.

"You never asked me out. I was nice to you, we were friends, but you liked queen bitch Lydia? I guess that says more about you than me." I said with a frown on my lips as I leaned close to Isaac's ear so that no other werewolves would hear me and he turned his head to look at me with wide eyes as I turned away from him. I walked over to sit down next to Stiles at his station as Isaac moved to sit next to Lydia at the front and I shook my head in frustration.

"Do you know about them testing Lydia?" Stiles asked me quietly as I sat down next to him and I threw him an offended look.

"Of course not!"

"Sorry, just making sure." He defended himself as he held up his hands in surrender and I rolled my eyes at him as I added the chemicals into the beaker on the table.

"Time. If you've catalysed the reaction correctly, you should now be looking at a crystal. Now for the part of that last experiment I'm sure you'll all enjoy - You can eat it." Mr Harris said from the front of the class and I looked down at the clear crystal in the beaker on the desk. I grimaced at the mess of crystal in front of me as Stiles grunted unintelligently and I carefully picked it up with a pair of tweezers.

"Lydia!" Scott called out loudly from the front of the classroom and my head snapped up instantly to see him standing up from his seat. I looked over at my strawberry blonde friend as she turned around in her seat next to Isaac and frowned at my brother in confusion.

"What?" she asked him incredulously as she haughtily flipped her hair over her shoulder and Scott glanced around wildly as everyone stared at him like he was a crazy person.

"Nothing." He said meekly as he sat back down in his seat and tried to avoid everyone's gaze as he looked steadily down at the table. I rolled my eyes at him as I turned back to face Stiles who was staring in disgust at the crystal in front of him. The bell echoed loudly throughout the classroom and everyone began chatting as they stood up from their seats. I quickly grabbed my books with one hand and Stiles' arm with the other as I stood up from my seat.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! Werewolf, werewolf, werewolf." Stiles reminded me as he gasped in pain and tried to ply my hand off his arm as I dragged him out of the room behind Scott and Allison. I rolled my eyes at his yelping as I loosened my hold on his arm and paused as Scott opened the coach office door discreetly. I pushed Stiles shoulder forward gently as I held the door open for him and followed him in after looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was watching us.

"Derek's outside waiting for Lydia." Scott announced to the three of us with a serious expression on his face and I crossed my arms over my chest as I leaned back against the wall.

"Waiting to kill her?" Allison asked in a small voice as she bit her lower lip and Scott deliberated for a second before nodding his head.

"If he thinks she's the kanima, then yes, especially after what happened at the pool."

"It's not her." Stiles protested adamantly as he shook his head in denial and I quirked an eyebrow at him as I bent my knee up to balance on the wall.

"Stiles, she didn't pass the test, man. Nothing happened." Scott said sympathetically as he looked at his best friend with wide dark brown eyes and I scrunched my eyebrows up in confusion as to what the hell they were talking about.

"No, it can't be her."

"It doesn't matter, because Derek thinks it's her. So either we can convince him that he's wrong, or we've got to figure out a way to protect her." I interrupted loudly as I pushed myself off of the wall and stood up straight in front of them with a serious expression.

"Well, I really don't think he's gonna do anything here, not at school." my brother replied easily as he started to pace the small length of the coaches office deep in thought and I shook my head at his naivety.

"You obviously don't know Derek. if he thinks Lydia is a threat to the pack, nothing will stop him."

"And what about after school? What if we can prove that Derek's wrong?" Allison interjected quickly when Scott went to protest and I glanced at her with a grateful smile because now really wasn't the time to be arguing.

"By three o'clock?" Stiles asked pessimistically as he ran a hand over his buzz cut hair in frustration and Allie leaned her hip against the desk as she sighed in defeat before perking up again with a hopeful expression.

"There could be something in the bestiary."

"Oh, you mean the 900 - page book written in archaic Latin that none of us can read? Good luck with that. Seriously, Soph? I thought you were meant to be all knowing."

"I'm all knowing in how to kick your ass." I replied with a pointed look to his sarcastic comment and he paled drastically as he backed away a few steps away from me.

"Actually, I think I know someone who might be able to translate it." Allison murmured thoughtfully as she rubbed a hand over her forehead and looked over at Scott expectantly.

"Uh, I can talk to Derek, maybe convince him to give us a chance to prove that it's not her." Scott suggested quietly as though he already knew that outcome and I frowned at him because I also knew that there was no way that Derek was going to give us any chance to change his mind about Lydia. "But if anything happens, you guys let me handle it, okay?"

"What does that mean?" Allison demanded softly as she stood up from the desk and looked him straight in the eye defiantly as I scowled at him for doubting my ability.

"That you can't heal like I do. I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I can protect myself." Allie insisted as she dug one hand into her large handbag and we all looked at her curiously as she searched the bag before pulling out a miniature crossbow from its depths. I smirked at the smug expression on her pretty face as I placed a hand on my hip and Stiles leaned over to look at the weapon over Allison's shoulder. Scott looked at her like a wounded puppy as he sighed miserably and she frowned in anxiously as she placed the crossbow down on the table. "What? Did something else happen?"

"I just don't want you getting hurt. Seriously, if anything goes wrong, you call me, okay? I - I don't care if your dad finds out. Call, text, scream, yell, whatever. I'll hear you and I'll find you as fast as I can."

"Oh, god." I uttered under my breath as they stared into each other's eyes like romantic fools and rolled my dark brown eyes at them. I clapped my hand once in front of me to get their attention and they both jumped in shock as they turned to face me with wide eyes. "As utterly romantic and sickening as this all is, Scott, Allison is a badass werewolf hunter and I am a werewolf trained in martial arts and weaponry. If you want to worry about anyone, worry about Stiles."

"Hey!" Stiles squawked indignantly from besides me as he placed a hand over his heart and I shrugged innocently as I smirked at him.

"We have until 3:00." Scott told us sternly as he glanced at us as though he would never see us again and then turned to face Allison with such a loving look in his dark brown eyes that I had to look away because I felt as though I was intruding on something intimate. My brother cleared his throat uncomfortably as he looked away from his girlfriend and starting walking towards the door when a hissing sound echoed throughout the room. Scott quickly spun around to face us as an arrow flew straight towards his face and he caught it only an inch before it made contact as he breathed heavily. We looked turned to face where the arrow had come from and saw Stiles standing sheepishly with the mini crossbow in his hand as he grimaced guiltily.

"Ah. Sorry. Sorry. Sensitive trigger on that." Stiles apologised quietly as he handed the weapon over to Allison and I shook my head at him in amusement as I walked past him with a small smile.

"Come on, buffy-boy. We're going to find Lydia." I said to the skinny human over my shoulder as I opened the door and he mumbled something under his breath about there not being any vampires as he dutifully followed me. Stiles and I walked quickly down the hallway towards the library where I knew that Lydia was going to be after her mandatory counselling session. "How did you find out that Derek was going to test Lydia anyway?" I asked Stiles curiously as we walked into the library and he frowned like he had a disgusting taste in his mouth as he looked at me sideways.

"Jackson."

"Jackson?"

"Yeah. Apparently, they tested him first and he passed and then he overheard Isaac talking about testing Lydia." Stiles informed me helpfully as I nodded in understanding and felt guilt in my stomach about not being there for my best friend when he needed me just because I was pissed at him. Jackson had been my best friend since elementary school and I knew that nothing could tear us apart for long, at least in my opinion. "Oh, there she is."

"Do you have like a Lydia-radar or something?" I teased Stiles playfully as I looked in the direction that he had pointed and saw the familiar strawberry blonde walking into the library. Stiles sent me a sarcastic smile as he started waving his way over to her and I followed behind him with an amused smirk on my lips. "Hey, Lydia."

"Hey, Sophie. Sophie's friend." Lydia greeted us brightly as we approached her and I saw Stiles face fall when she didn't greet him by name.

"We're having a study group. Let's go." I told her politely as I looped my arm through hers and started practically dragging her out of the library with Stiles following after us.

"What?!" Lydia exclaimed in surprise as I pulled out of the library doors and saw Allison and Jack waiting for us in the hallway. I nodded at them as Allison grabbed onto Lydia's other side so that the shorter girl was sandwiched between us and I risked a quick glance at Jackson as we hurried down the hall. "If we're doing a study group, why didn't we just stay in the library?" Lydia asked us in confusion as she flipped her hair over her shoulder and tried to gain some control over the situation because she hated being treated like a damsel in distress.

"Because we're meeting up with somebody else." Stiles answered her after a moment of hesitation as he looked over his shoulder to make sure no one was following us.

"Hmm, well, why don't they just meet us in the library?"

"Oh, that would've been a great idea. Too late."

"Okay, hold on – "

"Lydia, shut up and walk." Jackson ordered sternly as he pushed gently on her lower back to propel her forward and I let out a small chuckle at the indignant noise that she made.

We all climbed out of Stiles jeep in front of my house and hurriedly began making our way up the pathway when I grabbed onto Jackson's arm to stop him from gong any further. Allison noticed our suddenly stop as she stepped onto the stairs and sent me a questioning look but I just waved for her to go on. Jack looked down at my hand on his arm and then into my dark brown eyes as I cleared my throat nervously.

"Thanks for doing this." I said sincerely as I gained some of my usual confidence and look into his familiar hazel eyes.

"I needed to talk to her anyway." he replied with a dismissive shrug of his shoulders as he glanced up at the house and tried to play it as though he didn't care but I knew him too well.

"That's not why." I mutter quietly under my breath as he looked back at me and he sighed deeply as he ran a hand over the back of his neck. "I don't know why you're pissed at me. Usually when we fight, I know exactly why you're angry but not this time. I get why I was mad at you and I'm over it but I don't get why you're mad at me. So, unless you want to spend the rest of our lives like this..." I said as I waved a hand in between our two bodies to demonstrate, "…just tell me what it was that made you so pissed off."

"You didn't even want it." Jack whispered harshly as he stepped closer to me so that we were only a few inches away from each other and I frowned in confusion as to what he was talking about. "The bite. You didn't even want it. But I did. I wanted it and I got it but it didn't take. How is that fair?"

"That's what this is about?" I asked him incredulously as I stared at him dumbfounded and he swallowed roughly as he nodded faintly. I felt tears prickle my eyes at the ridiculousness of the situation as I reached under my shirt and pulled out the pendent necklace with the wolf's footprint that Jackson had given me after I became a werewolf. "You gave this to me! You said it was to 'mark me becoming a werewolf' and I figured that meant you were okay with it."

"I am! I am okay with it. I'm just jealous, okay?"

"Be jealous! I don't care, but don't treat me like I'm the one with the problem!"

"You're right. I'm sorry." He apologised to me as he grabbed my arm to stop me off walking away and I froze with my back to him as I closed my eyes momentarily. "I shouldn't have shut you out like that. I apologise. I'm sorry." Jackson said softly as he stepped closer to my back so that I could feel the heat coming off of him and I nodded my head slowly before spinning around quickly to throw myself into his arms. His arms automatically wrapped around my waist as I buried my face in the crook of his neck and he pressed a kiss to the top of my head as he sighed slightly. I knew how hard it was for him to show emotion to other people and was glad that he felt comfortable enough with me not to hide from his feelings.

"Come on." I murmured as he released me for the embrace and I grabbed his hand to pull him up the familiar front steps to my house. Jack wrapped his arm around my shoulder as I opened the door and I smiled at the gesture because it was so normal for us. we entered the house to see Allison, Stiles and Lydia just standing awkward by the front door and I quirked an eyebrow at them as I closed the door behind me.

"Lydia, follow me. I need to talk to you for a minute." Jackson told the strawberry blonde pointedly as he let go of my shoulder and Lydia sighed dramatically as she started following him to the stairs.

"Seriously? What is going on with everyone?" Lydia muttered to herself as they went upstairs and I glanced over at Allie was I confused frown on my lips.

"Why are we standing near the door?" I asked them curiously as I walked into the living room and they both followed me as I moved to look out the window for any sign of Derek's pack.

"Oh, jeez. What are you doing?" Stiles asked suddenly as he knelt on the couch next to me so that he could see out of the window and I looked over at Allison to see her playing hesitantly with her cell phone.

"I think - I think I have to call my dad."

"No, but if he finds you here - you and Scott – "

"I know. But what are we supposed to do? They're not here to scare us, okay? They're here to kill Lydia."

"Yeah, but if you can the hunters, they'll kill me!" I reminded her in irritation as I pointed a finger at my chest and she blinked at me once as though she was just remembering that I was a werewolf as well.

"I got an idea. Just shoot one of 'em." Stiles suggested with a shrug of his shoulders as he looked between the two of us with wide eyes and I turned to look at him as though he had suggested that we run around in the underwear.

"Are you serious?" I asked him drily as I crossed my arms over my chest as glared at him and he held up hands in surrender as he opened and closed his mouth repeatedly.

"We told Scott we could protect ourselves, so let's do it. Or at least give it a shot, right? Look, they don't think we're gonna fight, so if one of them gets hit, I guarantee they'll take off. So just shoot one of 'em."

"Which one?" I asked him curiously to see which one he would choose as I titled my head to the side and he pursed his lips thoughtfully as he pondered the answer.

"Uh - Derek. Yeah, shoot him, preferably in the head."

"If Scott was able to catch an arrow, Derek definitely can." Allison told him with a quirked eyebrow as she gave him a pointed look and I nodded in agreement as I looked back out the window cautiously.

"Okay, uh, just shoot one of the other three then." Stiles said nonchalantly as he glanced around the living room and I frowned slightly when I caught sight of Erica, Boyd and Derek standing in the middle of the front yard.

"You mean two." I corrected him instantly as I let the curtain fall back into place and looked over my shoulder at them with a small smile on my lips.

"No, I mean three. Where the hell is Isaac?" Stiles asked loudly as they both rushed to the window to see the pack minus Isaac standing on the grass and I paused as I heard a small crash somewhere in the house.

"Quiet." I ordered them quietly as I held up a finger to silence them and placed it in front of my lips as I looked around the house. "Allison, go check on Lydia. Take your crossbow. Stiles, stay here. You're basically useless against a werewolf without a weapon." I told them both sternly as they nodded in understanding and Allison got her weapon before walking out of the living room. I gave Stiles a reassuring smile as he looked back out the window and quietly walked down the hallway towards the kitchen.

"Sophie, Stiles, it's here!" Allison yelled at the top of her lungs from the second floor as I entered the kitchen and I glanced up at the ceiling with wide panicked eyes. my heels clicked on the tiles of the kitchen floor as I looked around for any sign of Isaac and listened carefully with my werewolf hearing.

"Your heels give you away." A voice said from behind me as I froze and I felt a smile tug at my lips as I slowly turned around to face Isaac.

"I'm not trying to be sneaky." I replied easily as I shrugged my shoulders with a smirk and he chuckled at me as he stepped closer. His handsome face hardened as he came to a stop a yard in front of me and I tilted my head to the side with a sad smile. The shy boy that I used to find adorable when he stuttered around me was now geared up in leather as he prepared to fight me and I couldn't believe how much he had changed in such a short time. Being a werewolf had been both a good thing and a bad thing for Isaac. "Oh, come on, Isaac, you've seen me fight. You know I can kick your ass in my heels and short skirt without ruining my manicure."

"Let's give it a try." Isaac said to me with a smirk on his face as he let his face transform and I scoffed slightly in disbelief as I prepared myself for his attack. He let out a loud growl as he launched himself at me and I quickly sidestepped him as I swept my leg out to trip him. Isaac caught himself before he landed and turned around to aim a punch at my face but I ducked down to avoid his fist. I lifted my knee up to hit his stomach and he let out a grunt of pain as he bent over. I elbowed the back of his neck as he tried to stand back up and he fell to his knees on the ground as I slammed his head into the side of the kitchen counter. Isaac's hazel eyes rolled back into his head as he collapsed onto the floor at my feet and I sighed heavily as I brushed the hair out of my eyes.

"Oh." I exclaimed in mock sadness as I held up my hand in front of me and examined my fingernails critically. "I was wrong. I did chip a nail. Oh well."

"Sophie?" I heard Scott call out to me from the living room as I looked down at Isaac's unconscious form and picked him up under the shoulder so I could drag him into the living room. in the living room, Scott was helping Allison carry a paralysed Erica down the stairs and Stiles was watching in awe from the bottom of the steps.

"Little help?" I asked Scott with a nod in Isaac's direction when he placed Erica down on the ground and he quickly ran over to help me lift the other werewolf's legs. Stiles held open the front door for us as we tossed Isaac on to the grass in front of Derek and Boyd before doing the same to Erica. Allison, Stiles, Scott and I all walked out on the front porch with smug expression as we looked at the Alpha and his one remaining Beta.

"I think I'm finally getting why you keep refusing me, Scott. You're not an Omega, you're already an Alpha of your own pack. But you know you can't beat me." Derek taunted my brother with a superior smirk on his handsome face and I rolled my eyes at his dramatics because Scott also had me and Allison to help him in a fight.

"I'm pretty sure we can take you but we don't need to. All we have to do is hold you off until the cops get here." I explained helpfully as I leaned against the porch beam with my arms crossed over my chest and Derek's green eyes swept over to me as the sound of sirens echoed in the distance. The sound of pattering feet came from the roof over us and we all looked up in shock at the sudden movement. The four of us on the porch rushed down onto the grass so that we could see the lizard-like creature the size of a human slithering on the roof.

"Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" a familiar voice screeched from the porch and we all looked over in surprise to see a distressed Lydia standing on the porch.

"It's Jackson." I whispered in realisation as my eyes widened in horror and I looked up at the creature that was my best friend as it/he hurried away to places unknown.
