Frenemy:

Only moments after the revelations that Jackson was actually the kanima, Derek took off after him while Boyd dragged Isaac and Erica back to the train depot. Allison was ordered to take a very confused Lydia home while Scott, Stiles and I tracked down Jack. Since I was still in my outfit from school, I quickly got changed into a Finejo Women's Heart Pattern Long Sleeve Crew Neck T-Shirt, White Stuff Salvage Printed Leggings, Onyx with a BOYFRIEND SLOUCHY BEANIE BLACK and Keds Champion Oxford Sneakers. Stiles and I were currently sitting in the human's jeep as we tried to our best to follow Scott who was trying to chasing after Jackson on foot. We eventually came to a stop outside of a familiar club called Jungle and I quickly climbed out of the car as I looked around wildly for any sign of either my twin or best friend. I caught sight of Scott's back near the edge of the club and grabbed Stiles wrist as I started heading in his direction. Scott didn't hear us as we crept up behind him quietly and Stiles gently touched his shoulder making him spin around to face us in surprise with wide dark brown eyes.

"Wha - sorry, I'm sorry. Did you see where he went?" Stiles asked hopefully as he peeked around the side of the building and I pushed pass him to see a queue of people outside the front of the club.

"I lost him." Scott told us dejectedly as he shook his head sadly and I pursed my lips together in annoyance.

"What? You couldn't catch his scent?"

"I don't think he has one."

"All right, any clue where he's going?" Stiles asked in exasperation as he threw his arms in the air and I leaned my head against the brick wall as I bit my lip to stop from saying something I would regret.

"To kill someone." Scott said as though it was obvious and I rolled my eyes at the two of them as I ran a hand through my hair in frustration.

"Ah. That explains the claws, and the fangs, and all that. Good. Makes perfect sense now." Stiles spat out sarcastically from behind us and we both turned to glare at him for the comment. "What? Guys, come on. I'm 147 pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, okay? Sarcasm is my only defence."

"Just help us find it."

"Not "it." Jackson." I snapped harshly as I stood up straight to glare at him through narrowed eyes and he gulped as he stepped away from me with wide eyes.

"Yeah, I know. I - I know." Scott stuttered as I tried to control my anger because I was sure my eyes might be flashing bright amber and pinched the bridge of my nose as I breathed deeply.

"All right, but does he know that? Did anybody else see him back at your house?" Stiles asked nervously as he ran a hand over his head and shifted uncomfortably on his feet as he glanced around the corner of the building.

"I mean, I don't think so, but he already passed Derek's test anyway."

"Yeah, but that's just the thing. How did he pass the test? Maybe it's like an either - or thing. I mean, Derek said that a snake can't be poisoned by its own venom, right? When's the kanima not the kanima?" I asked them as though it was obvious while leaning against the brick wall and they both looked at me with slightly opened mouths.

"When it's Jackson." Stiles stated in realisation as he nodded rapidly in understanding and Scott pursed his lips together as he thought it over. I sighed at their lack of knowledge as I peeked around the corner of the building for any sign of Jackson and felt a surge of panic when I spotted a long green scaled tail disappearing into the nightclub.

"Uh – guys. Did you see that?" I asked them warily as I pulled back to lean against the wall and the two of them shook their heads with frowns. "He's inside." I told them sullenly as I pinched the bridge of my nose and Scott's head snapped up as he sniffed the air.

"I know who he's after." Scott said quietly as he looked around the edge of the building and I frowned in confusion as I sniffed the air delicately. A familiar scent invaded my senses as I stiffened slightly in realisation and I pushed Stiles out of the way to try to see the person who I associated with the aftershave.

"Armani." I murmured softly as I caught sight of Danny heading into the nightclub and Scott placed a hand on my arm to try to comfort me.

"Aw, come on. All right, maybe there's, like, a, uh - like, a window we could climb through, or some kind of - Handle that we could rip off with supernatural strength. How'd I not think of that one?" Stiles asked sarcastically as I ripped the handle off of the backdoor to the club and gave him a pointed look as I waved him inside with a tight smile. Scott smirked at me as he waked through the opened door and Stiles sent me a wary glance as he passed me. The inside of the nightclub with filled with pulsing florescent strobe lights and males dancing provocatively to techno music coming from the overheard speakers.

"Dude, everyone in here's a dude. I think we're in a gay club." Scott shouted over the loud music as he frowned in confusion at the same sex couples making out on the dance floor. I rolled my eyes at his obvious comment as I looked around the familiar club for either Danny or Jackson.

"Man, nothing gets past those keen werewolf senses, huh, Scott?" Stiles called back drily from behind us and I turned around to see him being fawned over by a group of transvestites. I let out a laugh as I shook my head at his luck and smirked as I walked over to stand in front of him.

"Come on, ladies! This one's taken." I told them pointedly as I waved a hand dismissively and they pouted as they groaned in disappointment. I placed a protective hand on Stiles shoulder as he scrambled away from the drag queens that were running their hands over his thin body. I gently pushed the human towards my brother and the two of them walked over to the bar in the middle of the club as I looked around carefully.

"Two beers." I heard Stiles call to the bartender over the counter and I rolled my eyes at him knowing that he wasn't going to get what he wanted.

"IDs." A familiar voice told him doubtfully and I smiled slightly as I turned around to see the brown haired bartender studying Scott and Stiles' fake IDs. "How 'bout two cokes?"

"Rum and coke? Sure. Coke's fine, actually. I'm driving anyway."

"Ryan!" I called over the music as I sauntered up to the bar next to my twin brother and the bartender broke out in a full on grin.

"Sophie, hey! I didn't see you there, hon. Do you want your usual?" Ryan asked me as I leaned over the bar to press a kiss to his lips and I giggled as I pulled away from him while shaking my head in answer. He sent a sceptical look over at the two boys next to me that were gaping at me with open mouths and then went to get their drinks.

"You've been here before?" Scott asked me almost accusingly as he crunched his forehead up and I quirked an eyebrow at him as I nodded.

"Yeah, I come here all the time with Danny. I'm his wingwoman." I explained with a playful wink as I laughed softly and Scott's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Come on, Scott. You have get out of the house more." I scolded him as I shook my head in exasperation and reached over him to pick up Stiles' fake ID from the counter. The picture on the card looked as though it had been stuck on with glue and I scoffed in disbelief as I rolled my eyes. "You need a new card, man. I brought mine from Oliver Carbone, and I've never been turned away."

"Maybe that's because you look like a freaking supermodel and not a pale-faced teenager like me." Stiles countered as he snatched the card out of my hands roughly and I chuckled at him as I held up my hands in surrender.

"That one's paid for." Ryan announced to Scott as he set the drinks down on the counter in front of us and I turned at smirk at my brother as he grinned sheepishly.

"Oh, shut up." Stiles said as he scoffed in disbelief that he hadn't been the one that got hit on by a gay guy and glared at the smug smile on Scott's face.

"I didn't say anything." Scott protested weakly as he picked up his drink and I chuckled lightly as I turned around to look around the crowded dance floor.

"Yeah, well, your face did."

"Guys, concentrate. If you want to know who's more attractive to gay guys, we can come back when people's lives aren't in danger and we can parade you around and see which one of you gets the most phone numbers. Or offers for a quickie in the club bathroom." I told them in a slow placating tone as I smirked and leaned my elbows back on the bar counter. They both made disgruntled, slightly disgusted sounds as they turned around and began looking for any sign of our friends. My werewolf hearing was making the music in the club even louder than it actually was and I had to stop myself from cringing.

"Hey, I found Danny." Stiles called loudly over the music as he tugged on my arm to get my attention and I spun around on my heel as I looked around wildly for my friend. I sighed in relief when I caught sight of my dark haired friend dancing with a hot guy in the middle of the dance floor.

"I found Jackson." Scott murmured to us as he pointed a finger at the ceiling and I looked up to see the kanima crawling over the roof towards the middle of the club. "Get Danny." Scott ordered me sternly as he placed a hand on my arm and I nodded mutely in understanding and relief because I really didn't want to be the one who went up against my best friend, even in lizard form.

"What're you gonna do?" Stiles asked him incredulously as his face pinched together and Scott looked at me with a quirked eyebrow. I smirked at him smugly as I nodded in understanding and at the same time we both let our hands transform into claws. "Works for me."

"Come on, Stiles." I whispered as I grabbed onto the hood of his sweatshirt and started pulling him towards the dance floor where Danny was dancing with a hot guy. We maneuverer our way through the crowd of people on the dance floor as the fog from the machine turned on and made it harder to see where we were going. I tried to keep my focus on Danny but it was hard to do when people were grabbing at you and trying to get you to dance with them.

"Danny!" Stiles shouted over the music as he kept pace with me and pushed people out of the way. I snarled under my breath at one persistent dancer when he grabbed my arm and he immediately let go of me. One of the guys dancing in front of me sudden dropped to the ground and I paused for a second in shock. Another guys quickly followed suit as I started rushing forward again just in time to see Danny collapse onto the ground. Someone started screaming at the top of their lungs when they saw the seven fallen guys and I looked around the club for some sign of Scott or Jackson. Stiles skidded to a stop next to me as he looked around with wide shocked eyes and I frowned slightly when I saw Scott disappearing into the back of the club. I grabbed Stiles' wrist as I started running towards the same door my brother had gone through and ignored Stiles' huffing as he tried to keep up with my fast pace. The cold night air hit me fast when we exited the building and found ourselves in the parking lot. I looked around wildly for any sign of where Scott had disappeared to and saw a trail of blood on the asphalt in front of us.

"What the hell?" I muttered to myself as I slowly started to follow the trail of blood and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear nervously. Stiles and I followed the trail further into the car park and until we saw Scott crouched down next to a car with a naked Jackson unconscious next to him. "What happened?" I yelled as I rushed to their side as fast as I could and landed on my knees, ripping my tights in the process.

"Derek slashed the kanima's throat and then he ran out here. When I found him he'd turned back." Scott explained as he shrugged out of his jacket and covered the bottom half of Jackson's body. My hands hovered uselessly over Jackson's body as I blinked back tears and nodded shakily in understanding.

"We have to get him in the jeep." Stiles told us as he looked around the car park nervously like someone was going to appear out of nowhere and catch us. Scott carefully hurled Jackson over his shoulder effortlessly in a firemen's hold and started towards the jeep that was parked a few car spaces away. Stiles searched through his pocket for the keys as he scrambled to catch up and I rushed forward to open up the back door so that Scott could place Jack in there. I scrambled in after him and rested Jackson's head on my lap as I brushed my fingers through his sandy blonde hair worriedly. Stiles climbed into the driver's seat as Scott poked his head into the open backseat door and licked his lip nervously as he looked over at the people exiting the club. Paramedics were carrying out the paralysed victims as the police took witness statements from some of the other people who had been in the club.

"I've got to go check on Danny. I'll be right back." Scott told us apologetically as he backed away from the car and glanced over his shoulder at the ambulance.

"Just hurry back, alright? I don't want him lizarding-out in my jeep." Stiles spat scornfully as he looked into the seat at Jackson's unconscious form and I glared at him as my hand froze in its movements. Scott rolled his eyes at him as he closed the door before running over to talk to Danny and I heard Stiles sigh impatiently as I used my werewolf hearing to listen to the conversation between my brother and my friend.

"Danny." I heard Scott call as he jogged over to the side of the stretcher Danny was lying on and I looked over at them as I bit my lower lip in worry.

"McCall, what are you doing here?" Danny asked him in a weak voice and Stiles shifted in the front seat as he turned to look them as well even though he couldn't hear them.

"Just, uh, seeing if you're okay. And, um, I'm wondering if anything weird happened to you today. Besides being paralysed from the neck down. Are you okay?"

"Did it happen to my ex too?"

"Yeah."

"Then I'm great." Danny assured him with a small crooked grin before the paramedic loaded the stretcher into the ambulance. I stole a quick glance over at another of the ambulances to see Danny's ex-boyfriend Sean being loaded into it and had to smirk slightly at the silver lining Danny had found in his situation. Jackson made a small groaning sound in the back of his throat and I snapped my head down to see him grimacing in his sleep. I ran my thumb gently over his sculpted cheek bone as Scott climbed into the front seat of the jeep and closed the door behind him.

"Couldn't get anything out of Danny." Scott informed us as he sighed and bridged the bridge of his nose in a mixture of irritation and anxiousness.

"Okay, can we just get the hell outta here now, before one of my dad's deputies sees me?" Stiles begged feebly as he tried to duck down in his seat and Scott nodded in agreement as another police car pulled into the car park. "Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Could this get any worse?" the human asked quietly in a manic voice when he saw his father behind the steering wheel of the police car and Jack made another moaning noise as he shifted on my lap. Stiles spun around in his seat to glare at the unconscious guy in the backseat. "That was rhetorical."

"Get rid of him."

"Get rid of him? We're at a crime scene, and he's the sheriff. I can't lie to him, Scott, okay? My dad can always tell when I'm lying."

"I'll go with you. Come on." I told him as I carefully opened the door of the backseat and climbed out without disrupting Jackson too much. Stiles scrambled out of the front seat as I met him at the front of the car and together we walked over to Sheriff Stilinski.

"Hey." Stiles called out to his father as we jogged over to him and John turned around with a confused frown on his face.

"What're you doing here?" John asked us in a voice laced with confusion and irritation as he ran a hand through his hair.

"What do you mean what am I doing here? What? It's a club. It's a club, we were clubbing, you know? At the club."

"Not exactly your type of club."

"Uh - well, dad - There's a conversation that we – "

"You're not gay." John interrupted Stiles loudly as he rolled his eyes at his son and I pressed my lips together to stop from laughing.

"Wha - I could be." Stiles protested in a offended tone as he waved his hands slightly in the air and John raised his eyebrows at him.

"Not dressed like that."

"Well, what's - uh – "

"This is the second crime scene that you just happened to have shown up on. And at this point, I've been fed so many lies, I'm not sure I know the kid standing in front of me. Now, what the hell is going on?" The sheriff asked him in annoyance as he stared at his son with a look that made me cringe a little and Stiles opened his mouth but nothing came out. John sighed as he looked over our shoulders at the jeep and I turned my head to see Scott waving to us.

"Well, the truth is that we were here with Danny. Yeah, 'cause he just broke up with his boyfriend, so, you know, we were just trying to take him out and get his mind off things. That's - that's it." I lied as I turned back to face the sheriff with a straight face and Stiles exhaled in relief next to me. John looked between the two of us in silence for a moment before sighing in exhaustion.

"Well, that's really good of you guys. You're good friends." He told us with a small smile and Stiles shrugged a little as he licked his lip nervously. "Listen, one of you will need to come down to the station and give a statement about what happened."

"I'll come with you. Um, just let me tell Scott." I said to him with a smile and he nodded in understanding as he turned to go talk to one of his deputies. Stiles slouched in relief as he ran a frustrated hand over his head and I closed my eyes for a second before running back over to the jeep.

"What's going on?" Scott asked me through the open window with a frown on his lips and I offered him a reassuring smile as Stiles climbed into the front seat of the jeep.

"I have to go down to the station to give a statement. Just take Jackson home for now and we'll work out what to do tomorrow, alright?" I told them as I glanced into the backseat at my unconscious best friend and Scott made a sound of affirmation as he nodded absently. I patted my brother's arm before I turned away from the jeep and walked over to the police cruiser.

I was walking down the hallway at school the next day with Lydia in my LIJA Cinergy Scoop Neck Tank Top, Monki Mini denim skirt with a Kenneth Jay Lane Gold and Red Faceted Stones Bib Necklace, 20, Stylish Hollow Out Cross Buckles Decorated High Heel Sandals Red and my long brunette hair in a messy side plait.

"This guy just appeared out of nowhere?" I asked her a little sceptically when she finished explaining what had happened between her and a mystery guy that she had meet the night before. Lydia stopped in front of her locker and gave me patronising look as she spun in her locker combination.

"It's not like I invited room into my bedroom. He just brought Prada back and gave me a flower." She told me with a small wistful smile on her lips and I sighed in exasperation as I leaned on the locker next to hers.

"Well, did you keep the flower?" I asked her with a quirked eyebrow and she bit her lower lip as she ducked her head in embarrassment. "I'll take that as a 'yes'."

"Shut up, okay? He was kind of cute."

"Alright, alright. I suppose all women do stupid things for cute guys."

"I'd hate to see what we do for hot men." Lydia said with a roll of her eyes as she got her books out of her locker and I chuckled in agreement as I nodded my head.

"Just wait, Lydia dear. When we take over the world, men will fall down before us on bended knee." I declared dramatically as I pushed myself off of the lockers and Lydia glanced at me with a smirk as she closed her locker door. I giggled slightly at my own comment and she laughed along with me as she linked her arm through mine. It felt good to be doing something as normal as walking down the hall with my best friend instead of dealing with all the supernatural crap and I sighed slightly in relief as I gave Lydia's arm a small squeeze.

"Sophie!" a voice called out to me from behind us and Lydia and I turned around in surprise to see Sheriff Stilinski walking towards us with a stern expression on his face. I frowned in confusion as I shared a look with Lydia before walking forward to meet John halfway.

"Sheriff? What's going on?"

"I need you to come with me to the principal's office for a minute." John told me apologetically with a small smile and I panic overwhelmed me as I looked at him in concern. He must have seen my expression because he placed a reassuring hand on my arm and squeezed it gently in a fatherly fashion. "I just need to have a word with you. That's all."

"Okay…" I said reluctantly as I nodded slowly and I turned around to give Lydia a reassuring smile as I waved a hand dismissively. She gave me a small smile as she nodded once before wandering off to class and I turned back around to look at the sheriff. John sent me a smile as he started leading me towards the administration office and I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear nervously. John opened the door for me when we reached Gerard's office and I walked in to see David Whittemore sitting in front of the principal's desk with Gerard gazing at the door in came through expectantly. When I saw Jackson's father in the office, panic shot through me and I instantly felt dread enter my heart that something had happened to my best friend. "Mr Whittemore? What's going on? Is Jackson okay?"

"Sophie." Gerard greeted me as he stood up from his seat behind his desk and offered me a small smile that looked creepy on his face. I barely even glanced at him as I walked forwards without taking my eyes off of my best friend's father.

"Is Jackson okay?" I repeated with obvious panic in my voice as David stood up from his seat and I walked over to stand in front of him as he pulled me into a brief fatherly hug. I had spent a lot of time at the Whittemore's house over the years and Jackson's parents had become sort of like substitute parents for me.

"Jackson didn't stay at your house last night?" David asked me gently as he released his told on me and looked into my eyes as I shook my head mutely in confusion. He sighed gently as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked over at Sheriff Stilinski with a hard expression I had seen him wear when he was working in the courtroom. "Something's happened to my son." He said as he held his cell phone out to the Sheriff so that he could read the screen and john frowned as he read whatever David was showing him.

"Mr. Whittemore, maybe I'm missing something, but, uh, this doesn't exactly spell foul play." John told him unsurely as he glanced at me quickly and I sat down on one of the vacant seats as David sighed impatiently.

"It reads, 'Stayed at friend's house last night. Everything fine. Love you.' Now, while we're as close as any family can be, there are certain things Jackson has not been able to say since the day we told him he was adopted."

"Things like what?"

"Jackson never says, 'I love you.'"

"Never?"

"Not once in 11 years. At least not to us." David informed him sadly as he sat down next to me and reached over to grasp my hand in his for comfort.

"Then who?" John asked curiously as he crossed his arms over his chest and raised his arms in disbelief that Jackson wouldn't tell his parent's he loved them but I knew that it was true.

"Me. Jackson loves me." I told him in a small voice as I squeezed David's hand to either over him some comfort or gain some myself I wasn't sure. John looked over at me in surprise as Gerard stood up from his seat and strolled around the desk to stand in front of me.

"Where were you last night, Miss McCall?" Gerard asked me in a polite tone but I could sense the subtle suspicion of a hunter under the principal mask and I blinked at him for a second before plastering an innocent look on my face.

"I went out with some friends last night. My brother, Stiles and Danny."

"Sophie, you can go back to class now. I don't want you missing any lessons. I'll call you with anything happens, okay, sweetheart?" David instructed me in a fatherly voice as he stood up from his seat and fixed his suit jacket sleeves. I nodded in understanding as I stood from my seat and smiled at the men in the room before I walked out of the room. I shook my head as anger filled my body because I knew that this must have had something to do with Scott and Stiles. My breath was coming out short as I marched down the hallway towards my locker and pulled my cell phone out of my pocket angrily. I hit speed dial one before holding the phone up to my ear and waited for Scott to answer.

"Hello?" he answered after a moment and I scoffed loudly at how casual he sounded as I came to a stop in front of my locker.

"What the hell are you playing at? Kidnapping Jackson? Have you completely lost your mind? Don't answer that! I know you've completely lost your mind." I ranted quickly as I looked around the hallway in case someone came into the empty hall and leaned my hip against the metal locker next to mine.

"How did you know about that?"

"That's what you decide to ask?!"

"They know Jackson's missing?"

"They know."

"No, they can't. Stiles has been texting his parents since last night. They don't have a clue." Scott protested with irritation in his voice and I rolled my eyes angrily as I placed the phone near the locket before slamming the door shut. Scott let out a yelp at the sudden noise that he could easily hear with his werewolf hearing and I smirked in satisfaction as I held the phone back up to my ear.

"You two are idiots. Fix it before I find you and kill you in a very creative fashion." I warned him seriously as I pursed my lips into a straight line and then I hung up the phone before he could reply.
