"So, we've been working in tension filled silence for a good twenty minutes. I think it's time to address the giant pink elephant in the room." I said nonchalantly as I could as I turned around to face Dr Deaton with my arms crossed over my chest. The veterinarian sighed slightly as he turned around to look at me on the other side of the examination room out the back of the animal clinic. . I was wearing my LIJA Cinergy Scoop Neck Tank Top, NAKED AND FAMOUS ultra-soft stretch jean and CONVERSE Womens Black Classic High Top Sneaker with my hair up in a ponytail because I was working. "I want to know the details of being a True Druid."

"I can only tell you what I know, which I admit, isn't a lot." Deaton informed me calmly as he crossed his arms over his chest and I nodded at him in understanding as I jumped up on to the metal examination table so that I was comfortable.

"Just tell me what you can. Please."

"You know that the Darach is sacrificing five main groups of people. Virgins. Warriors. Healers. Philosophers. And Guardians. With each ritualistic human sacrifice, the Darach gains strength but they also absorbed traits from its victims."

"What does this have to do with me?" I asked warily with a frown as I folded my hands in my lap and he looked at me with a soft smile on his lips.

"This affects you because, as a True Druid, you have access to the same level of power without committing any ritualistic killings. You are also the embodiment of all five key traits." He said proudly with a warm smile as though I had accomplished something marlaceous and I frowned at him in confusion as I fidgeted with my fingers.

"And I'm confused again."

"You are a virgin, a warrior, a healer, a philosopher and a guardian." He told me calmly as he lifted an eyebrow slightly at my completely bewildered expression and I was sure that my mouth had fallen open in shock. "You are exceptionally skilled at hand to hand combat, martial arts and weapons. That compared with your increased speed, strength and agility, are the traits of a warrior. As a philosopher, you are a foundation of knowledge and strategy, history and wisdom. Your werewolf attribute of supernatural healing, as well as your wish to become a veterinarian, are what makes you a healer. And it's your desire to protect everyone around you, especially your loved ones, that is makes you a guardian."

"What about a virgin? Because I can assure you, that ship has sailed." I muttered quietly as I avoided his eyes out of embarrassment and Deaton chuckled softly as I nibbled on my lower lip nervously.

"In this case, I don't think it refers to sexual purity. I'm working under the assumption that it refers to the fact that you haven't spilt innocent blood."

"Does that mean if I kill someone, I'll lose my True Druid status? Like the True Alpha?"

"I'm not sure. Like I said, Sophie, I only know so much." Deaton reminded me apologetically as he shrugged his shoulders and I sighed in frustration but nodded with a small smile in understanding. "I can tell you what being a normal druid entails."

"Ooh! Yes, please." I exclaimed enthusiastically as I sat up straighter on the table with a grin and he chuckled at my expression as he walked over to a cabinet to the side of the room.

"This all the information on druids that I've collected over the years." he told me coolly as he reached up to grab a small leather bound book from the cabinet and I perked up in interest as he strolled over to hand it to me with a small smile. I grabbed the book from his hand eagerly as I bit my lower lip and I opened the small book to the summary page at the front.

Druid (Wise Oak)

The user can utilize the nature-based magical arts of the druids, the Celtic priestly class, that were said to possess great influence over nature.

The Celtic druids were close to nature and believed that they kept it in balance. Each individual druid comes into their nature born ability in adolescence and learns to control one of the four main elements: Fire, Water, Earth or Air.

They were philosophers and scholars that aspired to gain as much knowledge as possible to pass on to the next generation of druids.

I looked up from the summary with my eyes wide as I forced my mouth to close and I licked my lips nervously as I stared blankly at Dr Deaton with my hands shaking.

"Power over the elements? I can't have control over the elements! I'm too reckless. Too irresponsible. I can't have that kind of power." I practically shrieked in horror as I jumped down from the table and I slammed the book down on the surface as it turned to face my mentor.

"Sophie, you are not reckless. You are not irresponsible." Deaton said firmly as he narrowed his eyes at me and I scoffed incredulously as I started pacing the length of the examination room. I could feel his eyes burning into me as I ran a hand though my hair in frustration but I ignored him as I thought about how completely stupid it was for me to have any kind of responsibility. The only thought running though my head was something that would have made Stiles proud, 'With great power, comes great responsibility.'

"What…what element do you control?" I asked him warily as I stopped pacing to look at him with a small frown and he smirked at me as he reached into his white coat pocket to pull out a small lighter. I quirked an eyebrow at him curiously as I crossed my arms over chest and he flicked the lighter one so that a small flame appeared. He moved his hand over the flame in concentration and I watched as the flame transferred to his other bare hand.

"Come here." He urged me with a small smile as he placed the lighter back into his pocket and beckoned me closer as I watched the flame dance on his skin with wide eyes. I shuffled forward absently as I stared at his hand with wide eyes and he grabbed my hand in his as he guided me towards the naked flame. My heart was racing as he placed my hand next to his and transfers the flame to my hand as I gasped at the completely numb feeling under the blaze.

"Oh, my god."

"It's an amazing feeling, isn't it?"

"It's indescribable." I said softly as stunned tears sprung to my eyes and I gasped slightly in astonishment as the fire flickered in my hand. I opened my mouth to say something but I was interrupted by the sound of the bell over the door in the foyer ringing and Deaton quickly closed his hand over mine so that the flame was extinguished. We both turned towards the door as I quickly grabbed the small leather book from the table and Deaton headed towards the door with his professional mask back in place.

I stopped in the doorway to my Mom's bedroom with a small smile on my lips as I looked at Isaac and Scott's sprawled sleeping forming on the floor at the end of her bed. The three of us had agreed not to let mom out of our sight the night before because we were concerned that she might be the next Healer sacrifice. I had woken up earlier curled up next to Isaac on the floor but had woken up to make coffee and get dressed for school without the boys trying to get in the bathroom. I was wearing Rut&Circle Price Flower Strap Singlet, WASHED SKINNY JEANS and Chinese Laundry Two Stops - D Camel Kidsuede with my hair out in loose waves. I sipped the coffee in my hand as I strolled over to the edge of the bed and gently nudged mom's shoulder with my hand until she blinked her dark brown eyes tiredly at me. I smiled at her gently as she pushed herself up into sitting position and I handed her the other coffee mug I was holding as I sat down next to her.

"You might want to wake them up." I commented lightly as I lifted my coffee to my lips and nodded my head the boy's direction as she followed my gaze with a frown.

"Really, boys? Boys!" Mom shouted as she shook her head at them and I held back a smirk as they jumped to their feet in surprise as though there was going to be an attack. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Uh, we were watching over you." Isaac answered her tiredly as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly and I chuckled lightly as I sipped my coffee.

"We wanted to make sure you weren't the third sacrifice." Scott told her with a small smile on his lips and mom looked at them in confusion.

"But both of you were asleep." She pointed out with a quirked eyebrow as a smile pulled at the edge of her lips and I placed my empty coffee cup down on the bedside table.

"You were on watch last." Scott murmured to Isaac accusingly as he looked at the Beta and Isaac frowned at him as he shook his head in denial.

"What are you talking about? You were on watch last."

"No, you were on watch last."

"I might've been on watch last."

"My heroes. Wait, didn't you say that they were all doctors? I mean, I haven't had an M.D. Recently attached to the end of my name, so I think I'm in the clear." Mom said to them with frown on her lips as she drank some of her coffee and I looked at her like she was crazy to be saying that.

"Yeah, but it could just come under any kind of healer, Mom, and you were definitely a healer last night." I reminded her pointedly with a proud smile as I laid my head on her shoulder and she rolled her eyes at me as she laughed disbelievingly.

"Yeah, well, I'm not gonna be anyone's human sacrifice today, so all of you get your butts to school."

"Mom, this is serious."

"So is school. Go!" she told me sternly as she pushed gently on my shoulder and I rolled my eyes at her with a sigh as I pressed a kiss to her cheek before climbing out of her bed.

"Isaac, if you want a ride to school, hurry up." I told my friend playfully as I sauntered out of the room with a smile over my shoulder and he grumbled under his breath as he trailed after me. I chuckled at him as I practically skipped down the stairs and out of the door as I strolled towards my Camaro. I slipped into the driver's seat with a sigh as I waited for Isaac to come outside and I turned the car on as he came running out of the house with his schoolbag over his shoulder.

"Thanks for the ride." Isaac said breathlessly as he closed the door with a slam and I pulled out of the driveway as I smiled at him. "Do you think you can drop me off at Derek's loft?"

"Why?" I asked him curiously with a frown as I turned towards Derek's apartment building and he sighed heavily as he leaned back in his seat.

"Cora messaged us. Apparently, the Alpha pack left there symbol on their window this morning. Kali's coming after Derek tonight. Boyd and I are going over there to protect him. Boyd came up with a plan. He was thinking about the time Gerard had him and Erica locked up, tied up with electrical wires pushing current through them. He figured out how we could do something like that... But on a bigger scale. In a pool of electrified water, it can take up to 50 milliamps to kill a normal human, less than the power it takes to turn on a light bulb. If we disable the circuit interrupter in the building's electrical room, the current will keep coming, and anyone who steps foot in here, they'll get a pretty shocking surprise."

"Especially someone who's barefoot." I commented lightly with a smirk on my lips as I pulled to a stop out the front of Derek's loft and Isaac laughed at me as he glanced out the windscreen. "You know, Isaac, you're looking a little pale. Maybe you shouldn't go school today."

"Hm. Maybe you're right, Soph." he agreed with a fake serious expression as he fought a smirk and I grinned innocently as I leaned over to kiss his cheek. Isaac winked at me as I sat back in my seat and he climbed out of the car with a wave as I started to reverse.

"Good morning. As you all know, Mr. Harris is still missing... I mean, sick. Anyway, I'm filling in while we all hope and pray for a more qualified substitute to take my place. Okay, so let's get started, shall we?" Miss Blake announced cheerfully as she stood in front of our chemistry class with a huge smile on her lips and I narrowed my eyes at her unusual peppiness as I leaned my elbow on the table. I almost gasped out loud in realisation but bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself and I smiled coyly as I shook my head to myself.

"Derek!" I called out loudly as I entered the loft with my heels clicking on the ground and I glanced around the room almost frantically. My gazed landed on the Alpha standing in front of the large windows facing me with his arms crossed over his chest and I sighed in relief as I started rushing towards him. I threw my arms around his neck tightly in an embrace as he instinctively wrapped his arms around my waist and we stumbled back a little under my weight as I buried my head in the crook of Derek's neck. "Oh, thank god."

"Hey. I'm okay." Derek said softly as I pulled back slightly to look at his handsome face searchingly and I cupped his cheeks gently as I looked over his body for any remaining injuries. "Sophie, I'm fine."

"Excuse me. I just spent two days thinking you were dead, give me a minute to appreciate the fact you're alive." I said pointedly as I rolled my eyes at him with a small smile and he chuckled lightly as he ducked his head with a nod. I swept my gaze over his body seriously as I gripped his upper arms in my hands and I looked up at him with a small smile on my lips when I was happy enough that he was unharmed. He raised his eyes at me questioningly as he smiled faintly and I punched him as hard as I could in the face with a scowl on my lips.

"What was that for?" he asked me questioningly as he reached up to touch the drop of blood at the corner of his lip and I narrowed my eyes at him as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"What is with you Hale's? For the love of god, stop pretending to be dead! It's messing me up emotionally."

"I wasn't pretending to be dead. I was seriously injured – "he trailed off when I held my hand up to silence him and I took a step back from him as I looked at him with my head tilted to the side. I gasped in realisation when I realised what was different about him and he frowned at me in confusion as I smirked slyly.

"You had sex." I stated knowingly as I pointed a finger at the middle of his chest with a coy smile on my lips and he stared at me blankly as I chuckled until I thought occurred to me. "Hey, wait a second. Scott, Isaac, Stiles, Boyd and I spent the last two days thinking that you were dead, we spent the night in a creepy motel, got poisoned with wolfsbane, experienced our worst nightmares and tried to kill ourselves, all the while you were getting laid?!"

"How do you know I slept with anyone?" Derek asked me dismissively as he wandered over to the bed to the side of the room and I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I followed after him.

"Because the last time you looked like you do now was when we slept together. Now spill, you'd you sleep with?"

"I'm not telling you."

"Oh, so it's someone I know." I murmured thoughtfully as I fell down on my back at the end of Derek's bed with my legs dangling off the edge and he sighed heavily as he sat down next to me as I leaned up on my elbows. "Just tell me who it is. You know I'm going to find out sooner or later."

"Why are you so interested?" he asked me curiously with a small smile as he lay down next to me and I turned my head to look at him with a quirked eyebrow as he did the same.

"Who else are you going to talk to about this? Peter? Cora? Face it, I'm the lesser of two evils." I reminded him playfully as I winked at him with a smile and he rolled his greenish eyes at me but didn't deny the accusation. "Now, come on. Who was it?"

"I'm still not telling you."

"Was it a guy or a girl?" I asked him jokingly in a serious voice as I smirked coyly and he glared at me through greenish eyes as I laughed lightly.

Miss Blake walked to stand in front of the board as I smirked knowingly at her back and I tilted my head to the side as I took in her freshly felt-up glow with a purse of my lips.

"Hey, my dad said that the E.R. attending wasn't strangled but did die from asphyxiation. They just don't know how." Stiles whispered quietly to Scott in the row behind me and I leaned back in my seat so that I could hear them better.

"Do you think the on-call doctor could still be alive?" Scott asked his friend softly as I tapped my fingers on the table top carelessly and I nibbled on my lower lip in concern for the hospital staff.

"I don't know... But, Scott, there's got to be at least 20 other doctors in that hospital... at least, you know? Any one of them could be next."

"You know, there are different ways to die of asphyxiation." I whispered quietly so that only Scott could hear me with his werewolf hearing and I turned my head slightly to the side as he leant forward with a curious frown on his lips. "They could have been smothered. Or they could have been electrocuted. Or if they were suspended in the air by their wrists. Hanging like that, it means they would have to keep lifting their bodies up in order to breathe. Eventually, they would lose strength and they wouldn't be able to lift themselves up. It's how people used to die from crucifixion."

"You think that's how they died?" Scott asked me quietly in a mixture of confusion and horror as I licked my lips nervously and nodded my head subtly in answer. My phone vibrated in the pocket of my jeans as I glanced down at my leg in confusion and I slipped it out as I checked the caller ID in concern.

"Hey, doc. Sorry, I'm in class right now. Can I call you back later?" I asked quietly as I held the phone up to my ear with a frown and I narrowed my eyes at the students that turned to face me.

"Unfortunately, no. I honestly thought I might never have to burden you like this, but I'm afraid, at the moment, you're my only hope. I'm going to be taken. I need you to find me." Deaton told me in his normal calm voice but I could hear the slight tremor in his tone and I frowned in confusion as I looked over my shoulder at Scott.

"Doc, doc, doc, doc? What's happening?" I asked in a panic as I heard the ringtone in my ear and I quickly jumped up from my seat as I ran out of the room ignoring the calls from Miss Blake. I heard footsteps hurrying after me as I raced to the parking lot and I assumed it was Scott and Stiles that had followed me. I slipped into the driver's seat of my car as I tried to get my heart rate to slow down and I caught sight of Scott and Stiles standing at the edge of the car park as I drove away. I tightened my hold on the steering wheel as I sped towards the clinic and I silently hoped that I was too late to save my mentor from being taken. I pulled to a stop outside the animal clinic and saw that police cars were already there. I scrambled out of the front seat as I took off towards the front door and I saw the Sheriff there with some of his deputies. John turned to face me with a sympathetic smile as I looked around the room frantically but I knew that I was too late and I sighed as I turned back to the sheriff. "How did you know?"

"Stiles called me as soon as you left school. I'm sorry. Your boss's car is still here, and the back door was wide open. Sophie... I need you to tell me everything." John said softly as he placed a hand on my elbow and led me over to the side of the room where there were seats. I pinched the bridge of my nose as I closed my eyes tightly and I tried to think of what to tell me because I knew that I couldn't tell him the truth of what was going on. The bell over the door rang as I opened my eyes and I saw Scott and Stiles rushing into the room with panicked expressions.

"Sophie!" Scott exclaimed in relief as he ran to my side and I smiled up at him weakly as he crouched down next to me with his hand on my arms. Stiles walked over to speak with his father as my brother wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I leaned into his side grateful for the comfort.

"All right, we're doing everything we can. Right now, the best thing you can do is go back to school." john informed us sternly with a sympathetic smile as he dragged Stiles over towards where we were sitting and I stood up with a sigh as Scott shared a look with Stiles.

"Stay here. I'm going to talk to Stiles." my brother whispered in my ear quietly as he squeezed my shoulders gently and I nodded absently as he nodded silently for Stiles to follow him towards the cat clinic so that they could speak privately. I watched silently as they disappeared behind the closed door and I licked my lips nervously as I walked over to the sheriff.

"John." I said softly as I tapped his shoulder gently with a small smile and he turned around to face me with a soft smile. "I know you're going to do whatever you can to find Alan. And I don't want to pressure you or anything, but you and he are the only father figures Scott and I have."

"I'm going to do everything I can to find him." John assured me softly as he placed his hands on top of my shoulders and I nodded feebly as he pulled me into a quick hug.

"Sheriff?" a familiar female voice asked calmly from behind us as we pulled apart and I immediately tensed as we turned around to see Ms Morrell standing there with a small smile.

"Ms Morrell, thank you for coming." Sheriff greeted her sympathetically as he shook her outstretched hand and she nodded at him slightly as with a perfect mask in place.

"Sophie." she greeted me warmly as she stepped forward to wrap her arms around my torso and I stiffened in surprise as I reluctantly hugged her back. "I need to speak to you." She whispered in my ear so that the sheriff couldn't hear her and I pursed my lips slightly as I nodded gently in understanding. Marin pulled back from me with a small smile as John gestured for her to follow him to the other side of the room and Marin looked at me pointedly over his shoulder as she trailed after him. I crossed my arms over my chest as I watched Marin speak quietly to John on the other side of the room and I saw the genuine worry in her eyes for her older brother even though they weren't close.

"Please, whatever you need, however you can help find my brother." Marin said honestly to the sheriff even though we both knew that there was nothing the police would be able to do. I noticed Scott and Stiles standing near the door to the cat clinic looking at Ms Morrell in surprise and I realised that they had no idea that Deaton and Morrell were related. I started walking over to them at the same time as Marin and she looked at us all sternly as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Okay, listen closely, all of you. No sheriff, deputy, or Detective is going to be able to find him."

"You don't have to ask us for help." Scott told her quietly as he eyed her suspiciously with a frown and she shook her head slightly with a small tight smile on her lips.

"Actually, I'm trying to help you, because, if you're going to find my brother, then you need to use the one person who might actually have an ability to seek out the supernatural."

"Lydia." Stiles and I murmured at the same time as Morrell nodded in agreement and I frowned slightly as I grabbed Scott's hand before leaving the animal clinic without another word.

Me: Lydia where the hell are you?

I sighed in frustration as I typed out the text message furiously on the keypad of my phone and I ignored the odd looks I was getting from the other students as I walked down the crowded hallway. I slipped my phone into the back pocket of my jeans as I approached Lydia's locker hopeful that the strawberry blonde would be there. I crossed my arms across my chest as I leaned my back against the cold metal locker and plastered an impassive expression on my face as the bell rang overhead.

"Hey. Can I talk to you for a second?" a familiar voice asked me as I turned to face them with a sigh and Aiden lifted an eyebrow at me suggestively with a smirk on his lips that made me want to slap him and kiss him at the same time. I rolled my eyes at him with a scowl on my lips because I knew exactly what he wanted to 'talk' about and I didn't have the time for sex when someone I cared about was in danger.

"I'm not in the mood, Aiden." I told him tersely as I pushed myself off of the lockers with a serious expression and I tried to walk pass him without another word but he grabbed my elbow with his hand to stop me.

"It will just take a second."

"Well, that's sad."

"Not that!" he exclaimed in outrage as he started dragging me down the now deserted hallway and I couldn't help the small chuckle at the disgruntled expression on his handsome face. He rolled his chocolate brown eyes at me with a smirk on his lips as he gently pushed me into coach's empty office and I turned around to look at him with a quirked eyebrow as he shut the door behind us.

"What's so important that you dragged me in here?" I asked him in annoyance as walked over to lean against the desk in the middle of the room and he sighed slightly as he glanced at the floor before looking back up at me with an emotion I couldn't name.

"I saw Scott and his twitchy little human friend running around looking for Lydia. What's going on?" Aiden asked me curiously as he strolled towards me with a frown and I licked my lip slowly as I looked away from him.

"Deaton was kidnapped by the Darach. He's going to be the next sacrifice." I admitted softly with a frown as I crossed my arms over my stomach protectively and I had no idea why I was telling Aiden about any of this because I highly doubted he actually cared. "Lydia might be able to find him."

"Why would Lydia be able to find him?" he asked in confusion as he approached me slowly and I snapped my head around to look at him with a blank expression because I wasn't sure that I completely trusted him with my friends secrets that they didn't even know. Aiden sighed impatiently as he rolled his eyes at my hesitance and he smirked at me as he placed a hand on either side of my body so that I was trapped between his body and the table behind me. I could feel his warm breath on the side of my neck as he leaned forward to press a small kiss just below my ear and I tilted my head to the side as my eyes drifted closed on their own accord. "You don't have to tell me. But you can."

"Something's aren't mine to tell." I replied breathlessly as he grazed his lips down my neck towards my collarbone and I placed my hand on my shoulder as he sucked gently on my neck. My cell phone vibrated in my back pocket as I moaned in pleasure and I reluctantly pushed Aiden away from me with an apologetic smile as I pulled my phone out.

Lydia: I just finished 'studying'. Where are you?

Me: Coach's office. Meet me there. Ten minutes. Life and death.

"I have ten minutes." I told Aiden seriously as I pushed myself off of the desk with one of my hands on his chest and he frowned at me in confusion as I turned us around so that he was sitting on the edge of the desk.

"I thought you had to find Lydia."

"Do you want your ten minutes or not?" I asked him pointedly as I quirked an eyebrow at him questioningly and he smirked at me mischievously with his tilted to the side but didn't answer me. I sighed in irritation as I rolled my eyes at his stupid game and I smirked at him slyly as I pulled my shirt off over my head gracefully so that I was standing in just my jeans and lace dark purple bra. Aiden's chocolate brown eyes immediately darkened with lust as they drifted down my toned stomach and I placed my hands on my hips with a confident smirk. "So… Do your want your ten minutes or not?"

"Oh, definitely." He said huskily as he reached out to grab my hips and he grabbed me flush against his chest as I giggled in surprise at the sudden movement. My lips instantly melded against his passionately as he wove his hands into my long brunette hair and I reached my hands on his chest as ours tongues tangled together in a brief fight for dominance until he got the upper hand of the situation. My hands ran down his muscular body teasingly until I found the bottom of his shirt and I pulled back from him with a small moan in the back of my throat. Aiden grinned at me roguishly as I tore his shirt off over his head with smirk and I grabbed the side of his neck roughly as I leaned down to press a line of hot opened mouth kisses along his jawline. He slipped his hands down my back to rest on my ass as he squeezed gently and I gasped slightly against his skin as I sucked hard enough to leave a mark. The fire alarm suddenly started blaring shrilly as I jerked away from Aiden in surprise and he covered his ears with a scowl as I grimaced in pain before of our werewolf hearing. "Aw, man. Where you going?"

"It's a fire alarm." I said to him slowly as though he was a small child as I moved back from him with a sigh and he rolled his chocolate brown eyes at me as I bent down to grab my shirt from the floor.

"When in high school has a fire alarm actually been a real fire?"

"That's exactly the kind of thing you'd expect two dumbass students to say just before getting burned alive. I like being alive, thank you very much."

"Sophie, come on." Aiden said with a groan as he tried to grab my hips but I stepped out of reach of his hands with a small smile on my lips. I shook my head at him as I pulled my shirt back on over my head and he smiled softly as he watched me with a mixture of affection, sadness and another emotion I couldn't name in his chocolate brown eyes.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked him in amusement as I walked over to stand in between his legs with my arms draped over his shoulders and he placed his hands on my hips as he shrugged innocently.

"Like what?"

"Like this is the last time you're ever going to see me."

"I just like looking at you, I guess."

"Hmm. You first. Go." I said pointedly as I nodded my head in the direction of the door and he sighed in exasperation as he rolled his eyes mockingly.

"You're so bossy." He murmured quietly with a smirk on his lips as I tossed his shirt at him and he leant forward quickly to press a lingering kiss to the side of my neck as I stepped out of his reach with a laugh. I bit my lower lip to stop from grinning as he stood up from the edge of the desk and he slipped his shirt on over his head as I crossed my arms. The door to the office opened suddenly as I turned my head around in surprise and I saw Lydia coming into the room with a small smirk on her lips as she quirked an eyebrow at the two of us.

"You invited me here for a three-way?" Lydia asked me in amusement as she crossed her arms over her chest and I rolled my eyes at her with a smirk as Aiden grinned at the possibility.

"You should be so lucky." I commented drily with a smirk on my lips as I winked at my friend and I started pushing Aiden towards the door as he playfully hesitated to move. "Goodbye, Aiden."

"Ah, fine." Aiden groaned as he strolled over to the door with a wink over his shoulder at me and Lydia walked over to my side as he slipped out of the office discreetly.

"God, he's hot."

"Oh, definitely. Now, what is it you wanted?" Lydia asked me curiously as we walked over to the office door and I opened it up slowly as I frowned over my shoulder at her.

"You don't have very good taste in guys, do you?" I heard Cora say from the other side of the door and I spun around to face my friend in surprise as I quirked an eyebrow at her sudden appearance.

"Is there a problem?" I asked her tensely as I narrowed my eyes at her and Lydia immediately tensed besides me when she caught onto the threatening atmosphere. I had only seen Cora once since she'd come back to life and it had ending in happy tears but the look on my ex-best friend's face was telling me that this encounter might end up in a different type of tears.

"Yeah, Derek would like to kindly ask you to stop seeing Aiden, which means that if I catch you with him again, I'm not going to pull the fire alarm. I'm going to pull your tongue out of your head."

"Okay, number one, if Derek wants something from me, he can speak to me about it himself. Number two, I'm not a part of his pack so he can't dictate what I can and cannot do." I said pointedly with a scoff as glared at the Beta in front of me and tried to ignore the anger flooding through me. I couldn't believe that Derek thought it he could control me in any shape or form and it was a little insulting that he hadn't even come to do the threatening himself. Cora lifted her chin defiantly at me as she narrowed her eyes with a frown and I didn't like the way her fist was clenched by her side like she was just waiting for an excuse to hit me. "And number three, sweetheart, my last best friend was a homicidal lizard, all my friends are werewolves and I'm werewolf. I think I can handle sleeping with an Alpha."

"Come on." Lydia murmured softly as she tried to walk pass Cora with narrowed green eyes and the Beta shot her arm out to grab her delicate wrist to stop her. I instantly tensed threateningly as I stepped forward and the strawberry blonde glared at the werewolf as she tried to jerk her wrist back. "Let go."

"Cora…" I uttered warningly as I placed a calming hand on the small of Lydia's back and Cora snapped her eyes over to me as I pursed my lips in annoyance.

"I said…"

"…Let go." Stiles finished for her lowly from behind us as we all turned to look at him in shock and Lydia's expression softened immediately at the sight of him as I sighed in relief. "She said, let go."

"Stiles. I found Lydia!" I exclaimed with mock cheer as I pushed Cora's hand away from Lydia's wrist and he smiled sarcastically as he walked over to stand next to us while looking Lydia over for injuries subtly.

"I have an idea on how to find Deaton. Why don't you go find Scott and let him know that we found Lydia? We'll go to the science lab and try out my idea."

"I can do that. Call me if you need me." I told them softly as both Lydia and Cora were looked between us in confusion. I pressed a kiss to Lydia's cheek as I passed her on the way out the door and I squeezed Cora's hand affectionately with a small smile as I exited the room. The hallway was empty as I hurried nowhere in particular and I looked around for my brother as I pursed my lip together. I heard the sound of shuffling, coupled with grunts coming from one of the music rooms and I fastened my pace as fear surged through me.

"Impressive, Scott." I heard Deucalion say in a slight impressed tone of voice as I skidded to a stop in the music room doorway and my mouth feel open when I saw Scott sprawled on the ground with Deucalion standing over him. "Hello, Sophia."

"Scott, are you okay?" I asked in worry as I rushed to my brother's side with a frown and he grimaced slightly as he held his bleeding shoulder but nodded slightly in what was supposed to be a reassuring way.

"Do you know what a metronome is, Sophie?"

"It's a tool to help you maintain a steady rhythm once you've set the tempo." I answered him instantly in a calmly voice as I narrowed my eyes at him and he nodded with a small smile on his lips as he folded his hand over the end of his cane.

"Something tells me the tempo of your life has sped up considerably in the last few hours. If you'd like, I could help slow it down to a more manageable pace by helping you find Deaton. You know I'm not the one slashing up innocent people, praying to ancient gods or gathering herbs, or whatever the hell druids are supposed to do. No offence, dear."

"None taken. The person 'slashing up innocent people' as you so delicately put it isn't someone I class into the ranks of a druid. They lost the right."

"I am part of a pack that wants Derek dead, though. Kali is coming him for him, so there's a difficult choice you're about to face, because someone is going to die tonight, and whether that's Derek or Deaton, that's up to you two." Deucalion told us in the same calmly tone as he tilted his head to the side and I shared a surprise glance with Scott as I quirked an eyebrow in question at my brother.

"Just tell us where he is." Scott demanded quietly as I placed my hand on his elbow and I helped him stand up as he leaned on me for support.

"I'll give you a very important clue. Let the current guide you." He said in a knowing voice as he slowly strolled past us with a smirk and I narrowed my eyes at his retreating back as Scott sighed heavily in frustration.

"Come on. Stiles has Lydia in one of the science rooms." I told Scott as I started leading him out of the music room and he nodded with a frown as we strolled down the empty hallway. "You know, we should probably talk to Danny."

"Why?" Scott asked me in confusion as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I leaned into his side as I bit the inside of the cheek.

"Well, because there had to have been a reason that the Darach went after him. He may not have been a sacrifice but he was still a victim."

"What? Why Danny?" I heard Stiles ask someone inside one of the science classrooms as we entered and I saw Cora, Lydia and Stiles sitting around one of the desks near the windows.

"Because... Last night, he was a target. But it wasn't a sacrifice." Scott announced our presence loudly as everyone turned to face us with surprised expressions and I nodded my head for them to follow us as I walked backwards out of the room.

"But isn't Danny still in the hospital?" Cora asked in confusion as she followed us out into the car park and I nodded my head in answer as Lydia linked her arm through mine.

"Yeah. That's where we're going right now." I said calmly as I opened the driver's seat of my car and Lydia slid into the passenger seat as Stiles and Cora headed towards his jeep together.

"I'll meet you there." Scott called out to us with a dismissive wave of his hand as he looked down at his phone screen and I shrugged indifferently as I gracefully slid into the driver's seat.

Stiles, Lydia, Cora and I rushed into the basement of Derek's loft building as quickly as we could and I had to grab hold of Lydia's wrist so that she could keep up with my werewolf speed. After finding out that Deaton was being held captive at the same abandoned bank that the Alpha pack had used to hold Cora, Erica and Boyd, Scott and I had played rock-paper-scissors to see which one of us went after Deaton and which one of us went to help the others. Boyd had texted Cora to let her know that the power had been cut off by Kali and that she was attacking Derek at that very moment.

"Okay, what do we do?" Stiles asked in a panic as we stood in front of the electric panel in the basement and I bit my lower lip nervously as I shrugged my shoulders.

"We pull them. Pull all of them." I muttered mostly to myself as I started flipping all the switches back on because I didn't know which one was which and Cora started helping me instantly. "Text Isaac and tell him the powers coming back on."

"On it." he said dutifully as he took out his phone from his pocket and typed out the text as quickly as he could before sliding the phone back. I sighed breathlessly as I stepped back a step to make sure all the levers were pulled and then grabbed Lydia's wrist with my hand as we started running up stairs to Derek's loft. The first thing I happened to notice when we reached the open sliding door to Derek's loft was Isaac and Ms Blake sprawled on the ground at the entrance as they stared mournfully inside the loft. I frowned instantly as Isaac tear-filled steely blue eyes snapped up to mine and he swallowed harshly as he silently gestured with his head into the loft. Cora pushed past me with a frown etched on her lips as her heart beat went wild with anxiety and I squeezed my eyes shut tightly as she let out a heartbroken sob the instant she entered the room. I took a deep breath to steady myself as I slowly walked further into the doorway and my gaze immediately landed on the gathering in the middle of the water covered loft. Derek was kneeling in the water with a completely distraught look on his handsome face as he stared at Boyd's unmoving body and Cora sobbed inconsolably onto his unbeating chest as tears filled my eyes at the scene in front of me. I covered my mouth with my hand to stop of cry from escaping my lips and I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear as I slowly walked into the middle of the room. Derek didn't even move a muscle as I knelt down next to him and slipped my hand into his blood covered shaking one as I silent tears ran down my cheeks. I knew that I wasn't feeling a smidge of what Derek and Cora were feeling from Boyd's loss because I technically wasn't a apart of the same pack but nevertheless, Boyd was my friend and it was painful to know that I would never see him again. I was so focused on Boyd's pale face that it took me a second to react when the Alpha next to me squeezed my hand tightly and I turned my gaze around to Derek to see crying silently with a devastated expression. My heart felt like it was being strangled by a boa constrictor as I clamped my lips together to stop from sobbing and I wrapped my arms around Derek as he buried his head into my shoulder while he cried for the loss of his Beta. I rested my cheek on his head as I soothingly ran my hand along his back even though I knew that nothing I did was going to help him at the moment. I only thing I could do for Derek was to be there for him as he mourned.
