Chapter 8
At loss was how Hinata had felt when she woke up and learned that she had amnesia. She didn't know a thing about herself, even her name was told to her by Sasuke. She could remember the pain in her head, the cold of the water, the swirling of her blood, and the darkness at the bottom of the sea but nothing could provoke any memories of how she had gotten herself into that situation.
Safe was how Hinata felt when she was with Sasuke - the man that had saved her life. She couldn't remember how she had gotten herself into that situation where she nearly drowned to death, but she remembered how safe she had felt within his arms. Even when she learned that he got turned on by her, she was shocked and embarrassed, yes, but never scared. And secretly, she even felt flattered that she could attract him in that way.
Her feelings for him had grown so naturally that she didn't even know when it started. All she knew was that she loved being with him, seeing his rare smiles, the way his eyes lit up when he ate her origini, how his arms wrapped so securely around her waist, and how a spoiled kid he looked when he rested his forehead on her shoulder. But she knew very well he was no kid. She remembered how hard he had been, how much heat he had been emitting, how heavily he had been panting, and how painfully he had struggled to reign it all back.
Sasuke was the epitome of perfectness. He was good-looking, the heartthrob of the town, educated, and on the road to becoming a great lawyer. He had everything that she could never have. So why did he want her, a girl that had nothing, to be his girlfriend? Hinata found it hard to believe. She thought it must have been a dream but if it was a dream, why did it persist even when she was awake?
Her pale eyes were staring at his dark eyes, unblinking. He had looked so serious when he asked her to become his girlfriend again, this time emphasizing that this wasn't a dream by gently pinching her cheek.
They were lying next to each other on his bed. Hinata guessed she must have fainted when they kissed earlier and he had brought her home. Just thinking about the kiss made her flustered but she tried to keep calm, choosing to focus on the present situation instead. Right, become his girlfriend... Could she? Her insecurities were telling her she didn't deserve him. He deserved so much more, like someone who would soon become a doctor, a girl that was so bright and vibrant she attracted everyone's attention, a childhood friend who had been around him long enough to know every little thing about him like his favorite dish, his dream, and his past. But there was a small voice in her head that was trying to tell her it didn't matter.
She didn't deserve him but he wanted her. Sasuke wanted her to be his girlfriend. Of all the girls flocking after him, he had chosen her. So what if she was just a baker? She was doing what she loved and bringing people happiness with her desserts. She wasn't that beautiful to demand people's attention wherever she went but Sasuke had never liked the attention. He found happiness in his solidarity. She didn't have a past but she would build a future with him.
Her emotions were so overwhelming that she was at loss for words, so she decided to use actions to show him. So tentatively, she moved closer to him until their faces were just a few inches apart. They were so close that she could feel his warm breaths on her skin. He was a little startled by her sudden move, but remained still, waiting for her next move.
Her hand rose to touch his face, brushing a few stray hairs away. His dark eyes were so alluring that she felt pulled into their darkness and could never come back. Mustering all of her courage, she kissed his lips.
It was just a brief kiss. Sasuke didn't even get to feel her lips before she pulled away and blushed brightly. The urge to shyly look away and avoid his eyes was terrible but she tried to fight it. Instead, she looked straight at him, hoping he would understand what she wanted to communicate with that brief kiss. No girl would kiss a man that wasn't her boyfriend so he would understand that she wanted to become his girlfriend, right? Hinata hoped so because she didn't think she could trust herself enough to say anything right now. She would probably stutter terribly and it would be very embarrassing.
His hand touched her chin, gently tilting her face up. His movements were slow so she was very prepared for the kiss. It was another light kiss, maybe a little longer than their earlier kiss but still enough to make her blush. She felt his hands slide into her long hair as he put his forehead against hers. "I know my girlfriend is timid."
And Hinata smiled. The look he was giving her was loving with his dark eyes focusing entirely on her, his lips pulling into a small smile of contentment. Hinata couldn't imagine a happier sight.
Sasuke pulled her closer to him, feeling her body fit snugly against his. It had been a long time since the last time he was this content.
She lost her memories but she found him.
The smell of food woke Sasuke up, as usual.
Since Hinata moved in with him, Sasuke didn't need to set the alarm anymore because she would wake him up every morning with the smell of the foods that she was preparing. Sasuke thought he must have gained a few pounds now.
Entering the kitchen, he watched as the girl stood by the stove, lightly stirring the pot. She was probably preparing some kind of soup. Many girls had asked him what his type was and Sasuke had never had a clear answer for that question. He didn't really care or even think about it until now. Long hair, petite frame, love cooking, soft-spoken, shy, patient... Overall, his type was Hinata.
Sasuke had never thought much about his love life. In fact, he had even planned to stay single for the rest of his life and in the end die alone. He didn't feel the need of having a romantic partner. He considered Naruto his family, Sakura his friend, but he knew for a fact that wasn't love. He didn't know that feeling... until he met Hinata. It was the feeling of peace she brought to his dull, boring life. It was how he wanted to keep her for himself, to be the only man to know her intimately. It was how he wanted to protect her both emotionally and physically at all costs.
Hinata just fit right into his life as if she was born into it and now Sasuke couldn't imagine a life without her. A life without her delicious food, her soft voice calling his name, her calm presence, her body fit snugly against his when they slept together? No, he didn't think so.
Sasuke was well aware that Sakura was right. He didn't know who Hinata truly was. He didn't know if she was single or already taken but as he had said to Sakura, that didn't matter. As long as Hinata didn't regain her memories he could keep her for himself. It sounded so selfish but sometimes, you got to be selfish.
"O-Oh, Sasuke! Sorry. Did I wake you up?" Hinata squeaked lightly as she felt his arms wrap around her waist and his forehead put on her shoulder, rubbing gently like a spoiled cat.
"You did. More specifically, your food did." She heard him mumble.
Smiling, she turned to face him, still within his arms. "I made your favorite dish with a new recipe. It's still cooking and will be ready soon."
"I think it's ready now."
"No. It should be 10 more minutes... Ah!" She couldn't finish her words as his lips covered her in a passionate kiss.
It was very much like their first kiss last night and it made Hinata flustered like crazy. Right, they were a couple now. Sasuke was her boyfriend so these kinds of things should be normal but as much as she tried to tell herself that, her face still exploded and her whole body froze.
"Don't faint." She heard him say as his lips left hers. His hands rose to cup her face, tilting it up towards his. His palm felt her soft skin as his thumbs stroked her cheeks comfortingly. He wouldn't have her fainting the third time. "Take a deep breath."
And she did. Hinata felt her breaths regulated, her heartbeat stable, and her mind more focused. Looking into his dark eyes, she felt assured that she could make it.
"Kiss me," Sasuke whispered once he was sure the girl had calmed down.
When she stared at him with startling eyes, he gave her an encouraging look. She had initiated a kiss last night, she could do it again. Taking another deep breath, she tiptoed, aiming for his lips. It was a light kiss just like last night, but Sasuke wasn't having it. He wanted a deep, passionate kiss that would leave her breathless.
Holding her waist, he deepened the kiss, asking for an entrance to her mouth, which she shyly granted. His tongue tied with hers, exploring her mouth, licking her lips, and sending a shiver down her spine. He gently bit her bottom lips, sucking at the soft flesh that was slowly becoming swollen with how deep he was kissing her. And if her mouth wasn't busy kissing him, she would have screamed when she felt his hands slide under her shirt, hiking up the fabric.
His move was slow as if he was giving her time to stop him, which she didn't. His hands felt the soft skin under her shirt, moving higher and higher until they reached her breasts. Sliding under the bra, he cupped her breasts with both of his hands, squeezing gently.
"A-Ah, uhm..." She moaned into his mouth as she felt her nipples harden between his fingers. It was so embarrassing but it also felt good. Hinata had never known her breasts could be this sensitive.
Sasuke was panting. He was feeling just as much as her. Leaving her lips, he looked down to have a full look at her breasts for the first time. They were round, soft, big, and luscious. Judging from how the girl was trembling, they must be very sensitive too.
His fingers gently pinched her nipples, eliciting a moan from the girl. Her face was all red and flustered, lips trembling as she tried to hold back her moans but failed miserably. He kept playing with her breasts, fondling, squeezing, and pinching the little nubs. Then, he leaned down abruptly, taking a nipple into his mouth. The move ripped a squeak from her throat but it was quickly drowned in the suckling sound emitting from his mouth.
He sucked her nipple, savoring the soft flesh on his tongue before his teeth came down for a gentle bite, and then, as if to comfort her, he would lick her, covering the little nub with his saliva. He did all of that with his mouth while his hand kept fondling her other breast, pinching the nipple.
He shuddered lightly as he felt her hands slide into his hair, gently stroking, caressing his head as if encouraging him to continue. Looking up from her breast with her nipple between his teeth, he watched as the girl panted, lips apart to let out cute, little moans that he loved to hear. Her face was red, flustered but he knew she was enjoying it. She loved to have her breasts touched.
"S-Sasuke... I t-think we..." She tried to say but couldn't when she looked down and was met with the sight of him devouring her breasts like that. His dark mane was between her mounds, moving slightly as he devoured her breasts.
"Hmm?" He looked up from her breasts with questioning eyes and the sight was even hotter than before. He was still having her nipple in his mouth and he looked genuinely pleased with her reaction.
Hinata couldn't control her body. She bit her lips but her moans kept coming out, her back arched in an embarrassing way to push her breasts towards him, her hands stroked his hair, feeling his dark stands between her fingers, and something was feeling wet between her legs.
The heating coming from him was too much it was near burning. His mouth left hot kisses on her skin, tracing the swell of her breasts before engulfing the little nipple with his lips and tongue. His left hand was caressing her other breast, while his right hand was moving downward, passing her waist and finally dipping between her legs. The move sent Hinata into a high alert state as her eyes opened wide, her mouth gasping for air.
Her trembling legs unconsciously closed, trapping his hand between her thighs, and creating a sweet friction that made her moan out loud. Her panties felt even wetter as, despite her closed legs, his hand managed to fully cup her, fingers gently caressing her over the fabric of her pants.
One of her hands left his hair to put on his hand, trembling fingers wrapped loosely around his wrist, to stop him or to encourage him, she wasn't sure as her mind was clouded by a mist of lust and she couldn't think. All she could do was feel the pleasure he was giving her.
The hissing sound of the boiling pot startled both of them and Hinata opened her eyes, squeaking as she pushed Sasuke away to turn off the stove and check her soup. "T-Thank God, it's not ruined." She breathed out as she lightly stirred the pot with a spoon. This was her new recipe that she had spent weeks developing.
"But my mood was." Sasuke sounded exasperated as he once again wrapped his arms around her waist, fitting her back snugly against his front. Burying his face into her hair, he took in a deep breath of her lilac scent and whispered. "Sorry. Did I take things too fast?"
"U-Uhm..." Shyly, Hinata turned around, looking up at him from under her bang. She was having an urge to touch her fingers together but she forced herself not to. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his waist, returning his hug. "It's okay. I l-liked it."
That put a smile on his lips as he leaned down, kissing her gently. The light kiss was still enough to make her face tinted red and Sasuke couldn't get over how cute she looked when she blushed.
"Let me help you set the table." He said, reluctantly letting go of her. As much as he wanted to keep cuddling her, they both had jobs to do. Besides, her breakfast was looking and smelling good and his stomach was grumbling.
Hinata nodded her head, stepping out of his embrace. As they sat down at the table, Sasuke decided to tell her about his plan. "Naruto and I will go to Konoha next week to look at an apartment. He found a great apartment thanks to someone from his college."
"That's great. You two are gonna be roommates."
"Yes." Sasuke nodded his head. This was something they had planned a long time ago. Naruto was like a brother to him so of course, they would be roommates when they went to college. Naruto's business school wasn't too far from Sasuke's law school so it would be convenient and more affordable for both of them to live together. "Somehow I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it."
It seemed Naruto had been too excited for college to wait and had gone to his college even before the school admission day to have a tour around the campus. Apparently, he had even made friends with some of the students there and one of them had referred Naruto to the landlord. It never ceased to amaze Sasuke how Naruto could make friends with literally anyone he met.
Hinata laughed softly, totally understanding what he meant. According to Sasuke, Naruto was someone he would love to hate but couldn't.
"I will come back at least once a week," Sasuke said. "And I will call you every night."
"You don't have to. You will probably be very busy studying so I will come to visit you. I can take the bus."
The admission day was near and he would soon have to leave for college. He had almost finished preparing for college except for one thing. He couldn't prepare to leave her. He used to think leaving for college would be easy as he didn't have any family here, his two closest friends would leave for college with him, and there was nothing in this town for him to get attached to, but it was only like that until he met her. He will return every week and call her every night but it still seemed like it wasn't enough because he knew he would miss her terribly.
"No," He quickly opposed. "The city can be very dangerous. You can't go there alone."
"But I..."
"If you want to go to the city, just let me know and I'll drive you there." His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument because he knew he had a point.
"I don't want to bother you because you will be very busy with studying..."
"Hinata," He sighed, reaching a hand to cover hers, thumb gently rubbing the back of her hand comfortingly. "I'm your boyfriend now."
Hinata slowly nodded her head, squeezing his hand back. She knew he was just worried for her and he was right. The city could be very dangerous and she shouldn't go there alone.
They resumed eating breakfast and Hinata wondered what the city life would be like and then thought it didn't matter. As long as she and he could be together it didn't matter where they lived.
The friend from college that Naruto mentioned was a broody man. He looked like something was weighing on his heart. Whatever it was, it wasn't Sasuke's business.
The apartment was nice. It was a little small but still comfortable to live in.
"This place is good," Naruto exclaimed as he toured the apartment. He seemed very pleased and ready to sign the contract immediately. "Neji, thanks a lot. If it wasn't for you I don't know how I could find a nice place with affordable rent like this."
"You're welcome," Neji said, though there was no merry in his tone. "This apartment is my old PE teacher's, Might Gai. He should have been here today but something came up unexpectedly so he asked me to come to give you a tour instead."
"It's okay." Naruto grinned, folding his arms behind his head, a gesture that he had been doing since he was a kid. "We can meet later for further discussion. Today is just a tour."
"When can I call him?" Sasuke asked. The sooner he could get this over the quicker he could return to Hinata and help her at the bakery shop. Today was Friday, which meant her shop would be super busy.
"He is probably free tomorrow."
"Do you guys want to hang out tonight? I just found a place with great food." Naruto said, glancing between the two men, wiggling his brows. The guy looked comical in every possible way and Sasuke couldn't imagine he was going to be an adult soon.
"No, I'm busy tonight." Sasuke declined, preparing to leave.
"He's had a girlfriend for a week and already so clingy to her." Naruto sighed, his blue eyes following the man as he got into the car. "But who can blame him? She's a great girl."
"Must be a great girl to be able to tolerate a prick like him," Neji mumbled. He had just met Sasuke for a few hours and had already concluded that the guy was a total prick who was like him in some ways.
"So Sasuke is out, maybe we can call Tenten and Lee?"
"Sorry, I'm busy now. You can call them yourself if you want."
"Not you too," Naruto whined. He had been so looking forward to a boy out tonight and hoped that Sasuke could make friends with Neji. The two men were similar in some ways that could make them close friends. Helping Sasuke make more friends was Naruto's goal but he was failing miserably because it seemed even Neji wasn't interested in making friends with anyone. How someone could live without many friends was beyond Naruto's comprehension.
"Get in, Naruto. Or do you want to take the bus?" Sasuke called from his car.
"Ok, coming." Naruto quickly got into the car, not before waving goodbye to Neji first.
The car started moving and soon blended into the traffic.
Getting into his car, Neji let out a sigh. Honestly, he had been surprised to learn that the close friend Naruto mentioned was someone like Sasuke. The man seemed to be too broody for someone so energetic like Naruto. But maybe he shouldn't be surprised because Naruto could literally make friends with anyone. The blonde had become a close friend of Lee just after one meeting.
Starting his car, Neji quickly drove away. He had an appointment with a private detective that he hired last month. They would meet tonight to discuss what he had found. Probably nothing. Useless as always. Neji thought disappointedly.
But that didn't mean he would give up on her. Never, until the day he died.
