Lunar Eclipse:

Sixteen hours.

Sixteen hours Lydia, Isaac and I had been sitting in the back room of the animal clinic helplessly staring at our love ones lifeless bodies, silently praying that they woke up. Isaac and I were sitting side by side on top of the counter to the side of the room as Lydia leant against the opposite wall and idly filed her perfectly manicured nails as though she didn't have a care in the world. I stifled an affectionate smile as I ducked my head because even in the middle of a life and death situation, surrounded by the supernatural, Lydia Martin found time to make sure she looked her best. I had taken a few minutes at the start of the night to get changed into the Even&Odd Print Tshirt, WASHED SKINNY JEANS Ally Fashion and Even&Odd Cowboy/Biker boots coral that I kept at the clinic in case of emergencies.

"They're just being dramatic." Lydia drawled in a bored voice as she rolled her green eyes subtly and I chuckled lightly as she glanced up in our direction with a small smile.

"Scott and I had to have something in common." I replied teasingly with a cocky grin as I winked dramatically at the strawberry blonde and she smirked back at me as she shook her head before going back to her nails. I sighed slightly as I glanced at the three metal tubs in the middle of the room and I leaned into Isaac's side as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

Hours passed us by slowly as we took turns napping on the uncomfortable couch Deaton kept in his office, finishing the homework we'd been assigned pry to learning that our English teacher was a psychopathic murder and Lydia and I grilling Isaac about his relationship with Allison.

"Oh my god!" I shouted angrily as I stood in the middle of the examination room with my hands on my hips and I glared at the lifeless bodies of Scott, Stiles and Allison as though they were personally responsible for every wrong in the world. "How hard is it find a freaking Nemeton!? The thing is huge!"

"Hey! Leave them alone, alright? They're risking their lives doing this for us. Be a little more grateful. I don't see you in a bucket of freezing cold water." Lydia snapped in irritation as she pushed herself off of the wall she was leaning on with her arms crossed over her chest and I immediately rounded on her with a scowl on my lips.

"I volunteered! I begged and begged for Scott to let me be the one who did this! Deaton told us if I died it would start me on the path to become a Darach. Excuse me if I wanted to avoid turning into an evil psychopath like the one we're currently dealing with!"

"What do you mean turning?" she mumbled to herself as she strolled over to the bench in front of the tubs but I easily heard her with my werewolf hearing and gasped slightly at the insinuation as I narrowed my eyes at her.

"What was that? I'm a psychopath? How do you figure that?"

"Hm. Maybe I was referring to you being 'evil'. I mean, you are sleeping with one of the murderous Alpha's trying to kill us all, right?"

"Yeah, uh huh. And who was it that was sleeping with a homicidal lizard?" I asked her condescendingly as I tilted my head to the side in mock confusion and she spun around to glare at me with her green eyes flashing with anger at the reminder of her ex-boyfriend. "Oh, and speaking of being evil, who was it who poisoned us all with wolfsbane at her birthday party?"

"Because I was being controlled by a complete and total pyscho! One you think of like a father figure, by the way!" Lydia shouted at me angrily as she pointed one of her manicured fingers in my direction and I silently shook my head as she spoke while I glowered at her furiously.

"Enough!" Isaac snapped loudly from the counter he was sitting on as I opened my mouth to retaliate and we both spun around to glare at him as he jumped down from the counter top with scowl. "Both of you are horrible, bitchy people! Do you really want to have a competition on who is worse?"

"Don't talk about her like that!" Lydia and I both demanded at the same time as I stepped forward threateningly and the strawberry blonde glared daggers at him as though they could kill him where he stood.

"Like you're one to talk anyway! Let's count the number of people you've beat the crap out of, huh, Isaac? Or how about the time you tried to kill Lydia over a simple misunderstanding?" I asked rhetorically as I quirked an eyebrow at him pointedly and Isaac glanced between us in confusion as he frowned slightly.

"You guys were just yelling at each other!"

"So?" Lydia asked him in a clueless voice as she looked at him incredulously with her arms crossed over her chest defensibly and I tilted my head to the side with my lips pursed as she walked over to stand next to me.

"We're best friends. We're allowed to yell at each other and call each other names but we never stop loving each other. We've been best friends since elementary school. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for her." I explained to him as though it was a completely obvious statement and the strawberry blonde nodded rapidly in agreement as she slipped her hand into mine. I smiled slightly as I glanced down at our conjoined hands and I squeezed a little as I looked up into her pretty green eyes. "I'm sorry. I love you. Thank you for standing by my side when times get hard, through all this supernatural bullshit. Thank you for making me laugh when I didn't even want to smile."

"We're best friends. Of course I'm going to be here for you. I couldn't imagine my life without you in it and I seriously don't want to. I love you, psycho."

"I love you too, psycho." I told her honestly as I laughed lightly with a huge grin on my lips and I pulled her into a tight embrace as she squeezed me back just as hard.

"Girls are crazy." I heard Isaac mumbled to himself as he jumped back up onto the counter while shaking his head and Lydia and I both chuckled at him as we loosened our hug but kept our arms around each other.

Suddenly, we all heard the obvious sound of water splashing as we spun around in shock and I noticed all three of our friends moving under the water as though they were struggling to get free of something.

"Deaton! Something's happening!" I called loud enough for the emissary to hear me from where he was in his office as I rushed to kneel down besides Scott's metal tub and I frowned in panic as my brother thrashed desperately. Deaton ran into the room with a sage frown on his serious face as Lydia and Isaac hovered near their respective partners with matching worried expressions. "What's happening?!"

"They're waking up." Deaton explained calmly with a small smile on his lips as he checked them over and I breathed out a sigh in relief as I glanced over my shoulder at the others with a bright smile. Allison, Stiles and Scott all lurched forward out of their water bathes at the exact same moment as they gasped for oxygen and coughed to get the water out of their bodies.

"I saw it. I know where it is." Scott explained breathlessly as he looked around at all of us frantically and I couldn't help but chuckle in relief as I heard his voice because there were a few moments while we were waiting that I doubted I would ever hear it again.

"We passed it. There's- There's a stump, this huge tree. Well, it's not huge anymore. It was cut down. But it's still big, though, very big." Stiles informed us through chattering teeth as he slowly stood up from the tub with Lydia's help and I carefully assisted Scott out of his as he smiled shakily at me in reassurance.

"It was the night we were looking for the body."

"Yeah, the same night you were bit by Peter."

"I was there too, in the car with my mother. We almost hit someone." Allison told them as Isaac wrapped a dry towel around her shoulders on the other side of the room and I noticed her leaning close into the Beta's side for warmth.

"It was me. You almost hit me." Scott said softly in realisation as he pulled the towel I'd given him tighter around his shoulders and I rubbed my hands up and down his arms to warm him back up. "We can find it."

"What?" Allie asked us in confusion as the four of us that hadn't been unconscious shared a nervous glance with each other and I cleared my throat gently as I ducked my head to avoid their gazes.

"You guys were out a long time." Isaac informed them reluctantly after a moment of tension filled silence and I was internally grateful that I wasn't the one who told them.

"How long is a long time?" Stiles asked in an anxious voice as he frowned at us and Lydia rubbed his back soothingly as she looked at me in concern.

"Sixteen hours. And the full moon rises in less than four." I said softly as I placed my hand on Scott's arm to comfort him somewhat and everyone stared at me blankly as we soaked in the almost helpless situation we were in.

"We have to go back to the Alpha's." Scott murmured softly in my ear as he slipped the towel off of his shoulders and I scowled slightly in realisation but nodded my head in agreement.

"No, dude, you guys are not going back with them." Stiles protested firmly as he shook his head rapidly in denial with an appalled expression and my brother pursed his lips together as he looked over at his friend.

"We made a deal with Deucalion."

"Does anyone else think that sounds a lot like a deal with the devil?"

"Why does it matter, anyway?" Isaac asked us incredulously as he crossed his arms over his chest and I noticed that he was looking directly at me when he spoke.

"Because I still don't think that we can beat Jennifer without their help." I answered him easily as I crossed my own arms over my chest and

"They trust you more than anyone. Tell them they're wrong." Allison pleaded with Deaton with wide dark brown eyes as she stepped forward slightly and I sighed heavily as I licked my lips nervously before turning to look at the huntress.

"Allison, we're not wrong. Circumstances like this sometimes require that you align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies."

"So we're gonna trust him, the guy that calls himself Death, Destroyer of Worlds? We're gonna trust that guy?" Isaac asked me incredulously as he walked forward to stand in front of me with a look that suggested that I was completely insane and I placed my arms on his upper arms gently as I shook my head at him.

"I wouldn't trust him, no, But you could use him to your advantage. Deucalion may be the enemy, but he could also be the bait. It's like the saying, 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'" I explained calmly as I shared a knowingly look with Deaton over Isaac's shoulder and the older emissary nodded at me in approval as he smiled slightly. The chimes over the front door of the animal clinic rang throughout the back room and we all shared a concerned glance because the clinic was closed as Deaton walked out to greet whoever was there.

"I'm looking for Sophie." I heard Ethan say honestly from the front of the clinic as I snapped my head up at the sound of his voice and I hurried out to the front with a confused frown on my lips. I came to a stop in the doorway just behind the Mountain Ash barrier that the clinic was lined with and I eyed the Alpha twin warily as I crossed my arms over my chest. I hadn't had much contact with Ethan other than the one time I had helped him clean up on the bus trip to the cross country meet and I was a little cautious about what he wanted from me.

"What do you want?"

"I need your help."

"With what?"

"Stopping my brother and Kali... from killing Derek." he admitted almost sheepishly as he met my eyes with chocolate brown ones that matched his brothers and I bit my lip as I slowly nodded my head in consideration.

"Yeah, that sounds like a valid reason to go with you." I quipped uneasily as I glanced over my shoulder at my friends who had gathered behind me protectively and I looked over at my brother with a quirked eyebrow in question to see if he was okay going to Deucalion without me.

"I'll be fine. Go help save Derek." Scott assured me as he stepped forward to squeeze my hand reassuringly with a small smile and I nodded gratefully as I started walking out of the reception area but Lydia grabbed my arm tightly.

"Wait." Lydia said quietly in a strained voice as she blinked at me once like she was just returning to reality and I frowned at her in concern as she looked at me with a determined expression. "I'm coming with you."

"Lydia…" I started to protest with a shake of my head but she tightened her hold on my arm and shook her head quickly to stop me with continuing.

"I'm coming. I don't know why but I have this feeling I'm meant to go with you. I mean, I get that I'm some kind of, like, human Geiger counter for death, but... I don't know how to turn it on and off yet. Just please trust me, Sophie."

"I trust you. I trust you with my life, Lyds." I told her softly as she smiled at the use of her childhood nickname that I hadn't used in years and she nodded at me gratefully as she linked our fingers together.

I pulled the sliding metal door to Derek's loft open as Ethan and Lydia followed close behind me and I strolled in like I owned the place as I looked around for anyone. I hadn't heard from any of the Hale's since I left the hospital with Deucalion and Scott but Isaac had informed me that he had left Derek's pack when the Alpha refused to leave an unconscious Cora's side.

"Hopefully not all for nothing. The moon is rising, Derek. You drained your battery all the way to the red, And there is a fully charged alpha on her way to rip you limb from limb." I heard Peter's voice echo around the loft from the back where Derek's bed was and I quirked an eyebrow to myself as I headed in that direction as quietly as possible.

"I'll be fine in a few hours." Derek murmured in a strained voice as I heard some shuffling and I frowned in confusion as to why his voice was so weak. I waked closer to where they were and I saw Derek on the floor with his back against the wall as Cora helped him drink from a water bottle while Peter stood in front of them.

"I sincerely hope so, because a few hours is all that you have."

"Well, that's why we're here." I announced our presence with a smirk on my lips as Cora and Derek spun their heads around in surprise but Peter just smirked smugly as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Cora! You're awake!"

"What is he doing here?" Cora hissed angrily as she stood up from her crouch with a snarl escaping her throat and she pointed an accusing finger at Ethan as he tensed, ready for a fight if it came to that.

"He's here because I said so. Now, back down!" I ordered sternly as I flashed my bright violet eyes at her to further my point and she flinched slightly as she slowly nodded at me with a frown on her lips. "Okay, now, what the hell did you do?" I asked in a scolding tone as I turned to look down at Derek with a quirked eyebrow and placed my hands on my hips as he struggled to his feet with Cora's help.

"I gave up being an Alpha to save her. I'm a Beta again." Derek explained to me in a strained voice as he sunk down onto the end of the bed Cora had lead him to and I raised both my eyebrows in surprise as I looked between the siblings.

"Omega, actually." Peter corrected his nephew thoughtfully as he tapped his chin with his finger and both Derek and Cora glared at him as I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"So are you." I pointed out cockily as the smirk fell from his face and he scowled at me as I smiled back innocently. I turned my attention back to Derek as I walked forward with Lydia and Ethan both echoing my movements and Cora narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the Alpha twin as I crossed my arms over my chest. "Ethan came to warn you, Derek."

"We know about the lunar eclipse, so don't think Kali's gonna sit around waiting for it to level the playing field. She's coming, and my brother's coming with her." Ethan told them pointedly when I gestured with my head for him to speak and Derek's head shot up with a solemn expression on his handsome face.

"His warning is good enough for me, Derek."

"You want me to run?" Derek asked me with a lifted eyebrow as he looked over at me with a slightly surprised expression and I scoffed in disbelief as I nodded my head.

"No. We want you to stay and get slaughtered by an alpha with a psychotic foot fetish." Peter answered sarcastically as he rolled his teal coloured eyes with a scoff and I held back a snicker as I smirked in amusement at his words. "Of course we want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town."

"If you want to fight and die for something, that's fine with me, but do it for something meaningful." Cora added firmly as she looked at her older brother almost pleadingly and he stared at her for a long moment as he studied her expression.

"How do you know I'm gonna lose?" Derek asked in a faint smirk on his lips as he stood up from the end of the bed and I rolled my eyes at his cockiness.

"We don't, but I'll bet she has an idea. Don't you, Lydia?" Peter asked pointedly as everyone turned their attention towards the banshee in the room and Lydia shifted uneasily on her feet as the man that tortured her dreams took a step closer to her.

"I don't know anything." The strawberry blonde murmured in a small voice as she looked pointed away from the ex-Alpha and I winced at how unlike herself she sounded in that moment as I positioned myself protectively in front of her.

"But you feel something, don't you?"

"What do you feel, Lyds?" I asked her softly as I placed a soothing hand on her elbow and she looked at me with wide green eyes as she licked her lips nervously.

"I feel like... I'm standing in a graveyard." She admitted quietly in a stronger voice than before as she blinked at me earnestly and I nodded sagely as I rubbed her arms gently with a small reassuring smile.

"Enough for you, Derek? You're leaving. Go pack a bag. You too, Cora." I ordered firmly as I pointed a finger at the metal spiral staircase to the side of the room and Cora nodded in agreement as she stood up from the end of the bed but Derek didn't move.

"I'm not going to just leave you all here to deal with the Alpha pack and Jennifer on your own." Derek argued with me as he shook his head with a serious expression and I pursed my lips together in annoyance as I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You're still weak from healing Cora. You'd be more of a hindrance than a help at the moment, Derek. Plus, you're a Beta now so if you don't move your ass up those stairs and pack a bag, I'll beat the living shit out of you. And if you still doubt my abilities, which is an incredibly stupid thing to do, I'll give Ethan permission to kick your ass, and you know he can." I said threateningly in a sharp voice as I stepped forward so that I was only a few feet away from him and everyone was silent as they stared at me in shock, except for Peter and Lydia who both smirked. "Why are you still standing there?"

"Fine. I'll go but you have to call me if anything happens."

"Fine. now, go back a bag." I said in a softer tone as I smiled slightly now that I had won the argument and he nodded once as he smirked faintly at me before following Cora up the stairs case to the second floor.

"I can see why my brother likes you so much." Ethan murmured in amusement as he shook his head slightly in awe at me and I turned around to look at him with a smirk as I hummed in acknowledgment to his statement.

"Lydia, are you sure you want to stay here? I'm not what's going to happen but I know it's not going to be good." I told my friend in concern as I tilted my head to the side and she immediately shook her head in answer that she wasn't going to leave as she frowned slightly. "Fine, but if I tell you do something, you do it. Okay?"

"Okay. But, um, after this is all over, please tell me we can have a relaxing afternoon at a day spa." Lydia joked with a serious edge to her voice as she looked at me with a smirk playing on her lips and I chuckled lightly as I nodded in agreement with her request. I heard footsteps coming down the steps and I turned around to face the Hale siblings as they walked towards us with a duffle bag each.

"Ready to go? Great!" I said enthusiastically I clapped my hands together once with a bright smile and they both gave me a matching funny look as they walked pass me towards the front door. I grabbed Cora's arm as she strolled passed me and she looked surprised as I pulled her into a tight embrace. She chuckled softly as she wrapped her arms around my waist in return and I smiled slightly at the thought of hugging my childhood best friend after years of thinking she was dead. "Please don't go missing for another six years."

"I won't. I don't think you'll let me." Cora murmured in amusement as she pulled back to looked at me and I nodded seriously in agreement with a straight face before breaking out in a grin as she laughed along with me. "Bye, Sophie."

"Bye, Cora." I said sadly as my smile dimmed slightly and she nodded once with a small smile before heading over to say goodbye to her uncle. I watched her retreating back for a second as I cleared my throat before turning to face Derek with a bright smile and he stepped towards me with a faint smirk on his lips. "You better call me when you're safe. Or else I'm going to have to track you down and I promise you, Derek Hale, it will not be pleasant for you."

"I got it." he assured me with an amusement smile as he grabbed my arm and pulled me into a hug as I wrapped my arms around his waist with a chuckle. I pulled back slightly to look at his handsome face as he held me tightly around the waist and I placed a hand on his cheek as I pressed my lips against his softly. He deepened the kiss as he tangled his free hand in my brunette hair and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer so that I was flush against his muscular body. Our lips moved together in perfect synchronisation as I pushed myself up on my tiptoes slightly to give myself better leverage and I pulled away with my forehead against his as we both breathed heavily. He pressed a lingering kiss to my forehead as I ran my hand down his chest with my eyes still closed and I bit my lip slightly as my skin tingled at his touch like never before. I opened my eyes to smile at him as he pulled away and squeezed my hip affectionately as he brushed his thumb over my swollen lip. "Stay safe."

"You too."

"As fun as it is to watch my nephew and the girl look at like a daughter make out in the middle of the room, can you please go before the homicidal Alpha with a foot fetish gets here to kill you?" Peter asked sarcastically in a dry voice as he narrowed his eyes at us from the doorway and I stepped away from Derek as I gave the older ex-Alpha an unamused look that he ignored. Derek rolled his greenish eyes at his uncle as he lifted the duffle bag he'd dropped and started strolling towards the front door with Cora and Peter following behind him. I closed my eyes for a moment as I buried my emotions down deep so that I could concentrate on what needed to be done here and held my chin up defiantly as I turned back around to face Lydia and Ethan with a determined expression.

"They'll be here soon." Ethan told me in respectful tone of voice as we all walked over to the table in the middle of the room so that we could watch the front door and I nodded in understanding as I smiled slightly at him. I leaned my back against the table facing the door with my arms crossed over my chest as Lydia and Ethan stood on either side of me in the same positions. It was only a minute or two later that the alarm system Derek had installed started blaring a warning and I immediately tensed as I narrowed my eyes at the door. The heavy metal door slid open to reveal Kali with a menacing smirk on her lips and she kicked the alarm off the wall with her barefoot as she stepped into the loft. There was a moment of tense silence after the alarm stopped ringing as Kali glanced around the open area loft for Derek and snarled when she couldn't see him before narrowing her eyes at the three of us.

"Where is he?" the female Alpha demanded harshly as she walked further into the room and Aiden appeared in the doorway behind her as his chocolate brown eyes searched the room before landing on the three of us with a confused frown.

"I think he said he was heading out to do some shopping, run a few errands, The usual...werewolf afternoon." Lydia answered her sarcastically as she snapped her fingers as though she was trying to remember and I smirked slightly in amusement as she glanced at Ethan and I but I was a little surprised and worried that she had drawn attention to herself.

"Who do you think you're talking to?"

"Someone in desperate need of a pedicure. I'd be happy to give you a referral." I told her mockingly as I tilted my head to the side with a false innocent expression and Ethan tensed besides me as Kali growled threateningly in the back of her throat. Kali started stalking towards us but Aiden growled menacingly as he stepped forward and I looked over at him to see that his eyes were glowing bright Alpha red.

"Oh, really?" Kali asked him in a patronising voice as she turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow and I reached down to grip Ethan's hand when he started to growl in the back of his throat. "Did someone take their little assignment too seriously?"

"She is not the problem." Aiden insisted as he glanced in my direction for a second before looking back at the female Alpha and she scoffed slightly as she slowly circled around him like he was prey.

"Maybe the problem is where your loyalties lie."

"Oh, god. Is this about to get really violent?" Lydia asked in a frightened voice as she entwined our fingers together on my other side and squeezed tight enough that I would be concerned if I didn't have the supernatural ability to heal.

"Probably." Ethan and I both answered casually at the same time as I nodded my head slowly and she sighed slightly as though she already knew the answer before she asked the question. The sound of cracking filled the room moments before the skylight overhead crumbled inwards and the glass shards started to fall into the loft as we all froze in surprise. I pulled Lydia with me as Ethan grabbed onto my arm and pushed us down onto the ground with his body covering us from the scattered glass shards falling from the sky. I looked over my shoulder with a frown as I covered Lydia's head and I saw Jennifer crouched in the middle of the room on a pile of broken glass.

"So who wants to go first?" Jennifer asked tauntingly as she glared a shell-shocked Kali and the female Alpha was knocked out of her astonished state by the sound of her voice as she snarled angrily. Kali rushed at the Darach as she threw skilled punches and kicks but Jennifer easily dodged every move with a combination of expert blocks as they battled it out in the middle of the loft until she used her control over air to throw Kali to the other side of the room. Aiden growled threateningly as he ran towards Jennifer and Ethan swore under his breath as he climbed off of us before ripping his shirt straight off his body. I sat up with my arms wrapped tightly around Lydia as Ethan ran over to his brother and they began to merge but Jennifer grabbed their throats before they could as she ripped them apart. The twins each flew into opposite sides of the room as she smirked evilly at the mayhem she was causing and I squeezed Lydia protectively to my side as we slowly scooted backwards against the concrete pillar. Kali climbed to her feet with a grunt of pain as she glared at the Darach with hatred in her eyes and the two of them stared at each other as though there was no else in the room.

"That's right, Kali. Look at me. Look at my face. Do you know what it takes to be able to look like this, to be able to look normal?"

"I don't care."

"It takes power. Power like this." Jennifer told her menacingly as she smirked almost victoriously and the wind started blowing like a hurricane was coming as all the glass shards in the room started to slowly elevate into the air. I pushed my hair out of my eyes as I slowly climbed to my feet with a slightly terrified feeling in my stomach and I gestured with my hand for Lydia to stay down as I tried to focus on the air around the glass shards. The glass shards wavered slightly as I concentrated on keeping them still because I didn't want Jennifer to do whatever it was she was planning on doing. I could feel my eyes changing colour as I struggled to catch my breath because of the wind and I placed a hand on the pillar behind me to keep balanced. A few of the glass shards shattered under the pressure of competing against the two controlled elements and Jennifer frowned in confusion as she whipped around to look at the glass. "What's happening?"

"You're not the only one with power." I said to her as I gasped slightly for breath and she slowly turned to face me with a small smile on her lips.

"Hm. I forgot you were here, Sophie. You have no idea how truly powerful you actually are. It's too bad you're still beginning to learn how to control it." she taunted me as she raised her hands out in front of her with a smirk and I gasped for breath as all the air in my lungs suddenly disappeared. I struggled to breathe as I reached up to clutched my throat with my eyes beginning to water and my legs felt like jelly as I collapsed onto my knees next to Lydia. My vision became blurry as I felt Lydia kneel down beside me while asking panicked questions but I couldn't hear exactly what she was saying to me because everything sounded like white noise. I choked on nothing as I tried to catch my breath and black spots appeared in my vision as I struggled to stay upright. I crumbled onto the ground when I couldn't keep myself up any longer and I vaguely heard someone scream my name before everything went completely black.

"Sophie! Sophie, wake up!" someone called in a desperate voice as they shook my shoulders but I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes to see who it was.

"Is she awake yet?" another person asked from further away in the same concerned tone of voice and I knew somewhere in the back of my mind that I needed to wake up to see the owner of those voices.

"Would I still be doing this if she was?"

"Well, then try something else!"

"Please, don't kick my ass for this." the first person murmured in a whispered voice as they paused in shaking me and I felt my head loll to the side as they let go of my shoulders. Pain erupted on the side of my face as I gasped for breath and I jerked my head up as I blinked my eyes furiously. Cora leaned over me with a relieved expression on her face as I glanced around in confusion and she smiled brightly at something over her shoulder as I reached up to rub my aching cheek with my hand.

"You hit me!" I accused her in a surprised voice as I glared at her with narrowed eyes and she laughed at me in relief as she helped me slowly sit up. The events leading up to me passing out suddenly came rushing back to me and I pushed Cora away from me in confusion as I looked around the loft. "What happened? Where's Jennifer? Where's Lydia?"

"Sophie…"

"What happened!?"

"Sophie, I'm right here." I heard Lydia say in a shaky voice on the other side of the room and I snapped my head around as I let out a sigh of relief at the sight of the banshee crouched down over someone. I frowned in confusion as I looked down at the body next to her and my eyes widened in horror when I recognised him.

"Aiden?" I whispered in dismay as I started crawling across the room over the broken glass and Lydia glanced at me sympathetically as I knelt down next to him. "What happened? Is he alive? Where's Ethan?"

"They're both alive for now. Ethan's just over there." Lydia told me softly as she nodded her head over to the other unconscious twin and I sighed in relief as I nodded my head in understanding. "Once you passed out, Jennifer killed Kali and the twins attacked her in their merged form. Jennifer snapped their neck and I thought that they died. She made me scream, like, banshee scream. Derek and Cora came back here just like she wanted."

"Okay, you and Cora need to take the twins to Deaton at the animal clinic. He'll help them."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to find Scott. The moon is nearly at its peak, we need to be ready. Can I borrow your phone? Mine's still at school." I told her with a slight roll of my eyes at my own stupidity and she nodded in understanding as she handed me her phone. I dialled Scott's number by memory as I held the phone up to my ear but the line just rang out until it went to voicemail and I hung up with a frustrated sigh. I ran a hand though my hair as I closed my eyes for a second before I shook my head to myself and told myself to focus on the task at hand, on what needed to be done in front of me instead of worrying about everyone else. Scott was a True Alpha. He was capable of handling this on his own and I was capable of handling this on my own. I took a deep breath as I opened my eyes with a nod of my head and I looked over at Lydia as she looked at me expectantly. "Cora, can you carry Ethan on your own down to the car?"

"Yeah, why? Where are we going?" she asked me curiously as she started lifting Ethan over her shoulder with her supernatural strength and I pushed Lydia back a little as I did the same with Aiden.

"The animal clinic. If anyone can help, it's Deaton."

"Why are we helping them again? They did help kill Boyd!"

"Because Ethan warned us about Kali to save Derek and Aiden tried to protect us against Jennifer. Now, stop bitching and let's go." I told her firmly as I started carrying Aiden's unconscious body towards the front door and Cora grunted in annoyance as she followed behind me with Ethan while Lydia trailed behind us. When we had just placed the twins in the backseat of Derek's SUV out in the car park, a loud roar ripped through the air and I immediately frown in fear as I turned in the direction it had come from. Panic surged through my body as I tried to remember all the places that were in that direction and one very familiar location came to mind. I turned around to look at Cora, knowing that she had also heard the roar and she nodded at me as she silently held up the keys to the SUV. "Lydia, go with Cora. Be safe."

"Okay?" she said in confusion because she was the only one not to have heard anything and I smiled at her as I ran over to my Camaro before slipping into the front sit with only one destination in mind. The abandon distillery outside of town.

I slowly crept around the outside of the distillery so that I didn't alert anyone inside of my presence and I listened carefully to the conversation taking place for my cue to enter the main area where the others were. I stopped next to the large entrance as I placed the heavy duffle bag down at my feet and slowly crouched down to look at the variety of weaponry it held thanks to the Argent's.

"Now kill her. Your parents are dying. That storm you hear, she's burying them alive. It's her connection to the telluric currents. Kill her, and it ends." I heard Deucalion taunt my brother as I peeked around the corner and I saw a wolfed out Scott kneeling on the ground as Deucalion in his werewolf Alpha form standing over him with a fist full of Jennifer's hair. The Alpha's eyes were glowing brilliant scarlet and I knew from Scott that he was able to see when in werewolf mode.

"It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you kill everyone you love. It's what he does." Jennifer informed Scott breathlessly with absolute hatred lacing her voice and I felt my blood run cold with anger at the sound of her voice but I stayed focused on not losing control of the elements.

"They're dying, Scott. Your mother and the parents of your best friends. Kill her now, and it's over. Become the alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer."

"They're not dead yet." Scott insisted firmly as he glared up at the Alpha with glowing amber eyes and I reached behind me to grab a miniature crossbow with flashbang arrows.

"And who's going to save them, your friends?" Deucalion asked him mockingly as he sneered slightly over the word and Scott glanced over at me as I cocked the arrow into place with a smirk on my lips.

"My pack." He answered in a confident voice as he climbed to his feet with a small smirk and I took that as my cue as I stepped into the doorway so I'd have a clear shot. I fired the bolt directly at Deucalion's feet as Scott dived backwards and the arrow exploded as they all covered their eyes against the bright sparks flying around. I fired another one just to be sure that he was completely blinded as the lunar eclipse began and I felt myself weaken slightly as all the other werewolves in the distillery reverted back to their human forms. I threw the bow to the side as I rushed into the distillery to help and Scott wrapped an arm around my waist as I stopped at his side while he looked around the area for a missing Jennifer. I opened my mouth to say something just as Jennifer entered the distillery in her scarred and battered form and I gripped Scott's arm tightly as she silently used her control over the air to send us flying backwards.

"Ah!" I cried out in pain as I landed on the ground because I wasn't as strong or durable as normal because of the lunar eclipse and Scott struggled into sitting position as I pushed myself up to my knees. Jennifer stalked over to Deucalion with purposeful strides and began repeatedly bashing his head into the cement floor.

"Jennifer!" Derek called out to her as he slowly approached her from the side of the room and she stopped immediately as she turned her head slightly towards him. "He doesn't know."

"Know what?" she asked him in confusion as she frowned at him slightly and Derek held up his hands in front of his body as he walked closer to her.

"What you really look like. He knows the cost of bringing kali into his pack, but he's never seen the price you paid."

"No. No, he hasn't." she agreed after a minute of tense silence as she slowly turned back to look at Deucalion and she gripped his face in her hands as she forcibly turned his head towards her. There were some grunts of pain from both of them as she healed his damaged vison and she smirked evilly as she went to strike him but faltered as she stumbled backwards into Derek's arms. "What is this?"

"Healing him made you weak, just like healing Cora did to me. You won't have your strength for at least a few minutes." Derek explained to her knowingly as he held her in his arms and she turned her face towards her with a pleading expression.

"Then you do it. Kill him."

"No. Like my mother used to say, I'm a predator. I don't have to be a killer." He told her passionately as he shook his head and she whimpered slightly as he wrapped a hand around her throat threateningly. "Let them go."

"Derek!" I called out in horror as Jennifer suddenly spun around his arm and shoved him backwards before punching him repeatedly in the face with a betrayed expression. Scott wrapped an arm around my waist to stop me from going to help him and I winced slightly in sympathy as Jennifer slammed him against one of the distillery barrels.

"Your fifteen minutes are up." Derek murmured as his eyes flashed bright blue and I felt the effects of the lunar eclipse stop as my strength returned to normal. He grabbed her by the throat as he tossed her into the middle of the distillery and I started to rush forward with Scott but she used her control over the air to send a ring of mountain ash around her so that we couldn't break through.

"Like I told you, Derek, either you or the parents. Well, I guess I'll just have to take them now. In a few minutes, they'll be dead, and I won't need a lunar eclipse, even to kill a demon wolf." Jennifer said confidently with a smirk as she held her chin up and I glared at her furiously as I clenched my hands in to fists at my side. Scott glared at her from his place next to me as he lifted his hands to the glowing blue repelling barrier and he started pressing down lightly on it as my eyes widened slightly. "You've tried this before, Scott. I don't remember you having much success."

"I have something I didn't have before." Scott told her smugly with a smirk on his lips as he dropped his hands to his side and she looked at him in confusion as he held his hand out for me to take. "Together?"

"Together." I agreed as I quirked an eyebrow at him in question but just he smirked at me with a knowingly glint in his dark brown eyes. We placed our hands on the glowing blue repelling barrier as we applied constant and steady pressure as I felt my eyes changing colour to a vibrant violet colour. I risked a glance at Scott and saw that his eyes were glowing a solid red and I turned back to look at a worried Jennifer as our hands started to push past the barrier. The repelling force seemed to snap as a release of pressure knocked Jennifer off of her feet and she sprawled onto the floor with an astonished expression on her face.

"How did you do that?" Jennifer asked breathlessly as she stared up at us with wide eyes and I smirked at her without answering as Scott stepped closer with a hard expression.

"I'm an Alpha now. And I have my emissary with me. We're stronger together. Whatever you're doing to cause this storm, make it stop, or I'll kill you myself. I don't care what it does to the colour of my eyes."

"It won't change the colour of mine, so allow me." Deucalion said as he rushed forward with his claws extended and slashed her across the throat as her glamour wavered until she was back in her Darach form. The wind immediately dead at the same time that she did and I breathed a sigh of relief as I closed my eye for a split second. I looked over at Scott with a small smile as he called someone on his phone and I walked over to where Derek was sitting on one of the distillery barrels as we listened in on the conversation.

"Scott?" Stiles asked through the phone line as I sat down next to Derek and the now-Beta wrapped an arm around my shoulders as I leaned into his side.

"Hey, are you okay?" Scott asked his best friend as he ran a hand through his hair and I bit my lower lip as I waited anxiously for the answer.

"Yeah, we're okay. We're all okay. How about you, you okay?"

"Sort of."

"You think you can come get us?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Great, okay. Um, uh, bring a ladder." Stiles told him in a slightly joking, slightly serious voice as I heard people laughing in the background and Scott chuckled lightly before hanging up the phone. Derek and I stood up from the barrel as Scott turned to look at Deucalion and the Alpha shifted on his feet as though he was going to run or fight but we just stopped in front of him.

"My mother told me you were a man of vision once." Derek admitted in a sharp tone as he crossed his arms over his broad chest and Deucalion glanced up at the mention of Talia.

"We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again." I told him pointedly as I tilted my head to the side slightly with a small smirk playing on my lips and Scott slipped his hand into mine as he narrowed his eyes at the other Alpha.

"But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter, because you'll never see us coming." Scott promised him threateningly as he fought a smirk of his own and we all looked at the Alpha for a moment before strolling out of the distillery without a backwards glance.

I rushed into the back room of the animal clinic as I heard the beeping sound of an EKG and I pushed open the doors to see Ethan and Aiden both lying shirtless and unmoving on two of the exam tables. Cora was standing next to Ethan while Lydia hovered over Aiden and they both looked up in surprise when I entered the room.

"Hey. How are they?" I asked them in concern as I walked over to stand at the end of the table near Aiden's head and Lydia smiled at me sympathetically as she stepped away from the table.

"Deaton says they should be waking up any minute." Cora told me with a small smile as she looked over her shoulder at me and I nodded at her gratefully with a smile of my own as I placed my hands on Aiden's shoulders. A small groan came from the exam table where Ethan was lying and I snapped my head over to see him blinking repeatedly as he grimaced.

"What happened?" he asked groggily as he reached up to touch his forehead and Cora grabbed his hand to stop him as she shook her head. There was a weak chuckled from the table I was standing over and my head shot down to see Aiden smiling up at me.

"I knew." He stated in a strained voice as he reached up to place his left hand over my right one on his shoulder and I frowned slightly in confusion as I shook my head.

"What?" I asked him curiously as a smile overtook my lips when I saw the familiar mischievous twinkle in his chocolate brown eyes and he grinned up at me as butterflies fluttered in my stomach.

"I knew you liked me."

"Oh, god." I breathed out in a laugh as I shook my head at his cheesiness and he chuckled weakly as he kissed the inside of my wrist.

I was standing by my open locker as I thought about the quote from Heart of Darkness, 'seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness.' Those words perfectly fit the situation we currently found ourselves in. Deaton had warned us that Scott, Allison and Stiles would forever be tainted with darkness before the sacrifice and now I was wondering when we'd catch our first glimpse of that darkness. I couldn't help but feeling as though the peaceful limbo we're in was just that. The state between one thing and the next because I knew for certain that there would be a next crisis. I glanced over my shoulder as Ethan and Danny came out of a classroom at the other end of the hall holding hands and had to smile slightly as they strolled down the hall as though they didn't have a care in the world. I watched as they passed by Lydia's locker where she was standing flirting with an attractive sophomore and she must have felt my stare because she turned around to give me a wink before going back to her conversation. I giggled softly to myself as I turned back to my locker and placed my book inside as I heard Allison melodious laugh accompanied by Isaac's familiar chuckle from behind me. Someone closed my locker from the other side of the door and I jumped in surprise with a small gasp as I turned my head to glare at a smiling Aiden.

"What'd you do that for?" I asked him in exasperation as I turned around to lean my back against the now closed locker door and he leaned his shoulder next to me as he hummed in thought at my question.

"I just wanted to see if I could make you jump. Very nice werewolf reflexes, kitten." He taunted me drily as he tried to keep a straight face but a small smirk played at the edge of his lips and I glared at him for using that horrid pet name because he knew that I hated it.

"You know what else werewolves have? Supernatural stamina. Too bad you won't be able to see mine in action." I replied mockingly with a smirk on my lips as I pushed myself off of my locker and I patted his cheek patronisingly as the smirk fell from his face.

"What? No. Sophie, come on." Aiden complained with groan as I started walking down the hallway without a backwards glance and he hurried to catch up to me before falling into step besides me as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I stifled a smile as I turned my head to glare at him but he just grinned at me with a wink and I rolled my eyes playfully as I allowed him to keep his arm where it was. I saw my brother and Stiles standing near the entrance with genuine smiles on their faces and I ignored the hollowed pit in my stomach as I smiled back at them.
