Undisclosed Location

Kagome narrowed her eyes, bow and arrow notched and ready to fly, as she observed her enemy. Although he had stealthily attacked, he hadn't been able to hide his massive golden aura from her priestess senses, which brought them to their current predicament. On either side, Archer and Lancer stood, poised and weapons drawn as they faced the seemingly young man dressed in biker clothes.

The King of Heroes. Gilgamesh.

There was no way to mistaken his identity. His golden good-looks, crimson eyes, and the sheer amount of power that poured off of his being spoke volumes. There was a reason why he was known for being a half-God. His very presence was breathtaking.

And his arrogance could part seas and move mountains.

"You do not stand a chance against someone such as me," Gilgamesh stated, his smirk growing wider as his eyes darkened with bloodlust. "Come, Priestess. Join me and be my queen. Your talents are wasted on these filth." He held out a hand, fully expecting to be obeyed. "I will even be so kind as to give you all of the riches in this world."

"No thanks," Kagome responded. "Becoming queen and owning the world sounds like a lot of paperwork."

Gilgamesh gave a full-body laugh, his amusement shining within his orbs. "You greatly amuse me, Priestess." His arm moved in a decisive manner, as if settling a debate. "I have decided: I shall bestow my love upon you until I grow tired of you. You should be honored."

Archer and Lancer grit their teeth, both aggravated beyond belief. Their hands tightened around their respective weapons, eager to shed some blood and beat the golden male standing before them black and blue.

"How dare you speak to Lady Kagome like that," Archer growled, eyes narrowing.

Lancer shifted the slightest bit, obviously preparing to attack at any second. "Please, Lady Kagome. Just give the word and I'll go teach this guy some manners on how to speak to women."

The King of Heroes chuckled darkly. He eyed the other two Servants like they were the dirt beneath his feet. "You two? Defeat me? That's laughable." With a flick of his wrist, several magic circles appeared behind him, each revealing a sword or spear aimed at the trio. "I will be generous and give you one last chance. Surrender now and the priestess comes with me."

"Are you acting on your own?" Archer demanded, widening his stance in preparation of a fight and to defend his lady. "Where is your Master?"

"That fool? He is none of your concern," Gilgamesh scoffed. It was a mistake that his Master had summoned him in the first place. He, who stood above all others – al other Servants – deserved a powerful Master, not one who only wished to gain power because their own was lacking.

Crimson eyes focused on the raven haired beauty, the orbs darkening with bloodlust and near drunk with the possibilities that lay before him with her by his side. The things they could accomplish… It nearly made him dizzy with excitement just thinking about it.

"Now then," Gilgamesh began imperiously, "I am done talking. Priestess, come to me this instant. I wish to leave this place and start strategizing how to gain the Holy Grail. If you refuse, you will leave me no choice but to annihilate these vermin and take you by force."

"Just try it, you bastard," Lancer growled.

"We won't let you anywhere near Lady Kagome," Archer added. He and Lancer may disagree on many things but that wouldn't be one of them.

"So be it." With a wave of his hand, the barrage of weapons were launched.

In the same instant, Kagome took careful aim with her arrow and fired.

Gilgamesh used one hand to tug on the string of enchanted beads that circled his neck, his expression fighting between amused and frustrated. The King of Heroes seemed to finally settle on amused as his crimson eyes landed on the raven haired beauty that sat across from him.

"I would not expect less from my queen. Truly a work of superb magic at its best."

"Flattery will get you nowhere," Kagome deadpanned. "And the only reason I placed those beads of subjugation around your neck is because you were about to obliterate my allies and I."

"Allies? Are those two not mere Servants?"

She displayed the red tattoos that signified her Command Seals for both Archer and Lancer. "Yes, they are Servants," she answered. "But they're more than that. I summoned Archer, and Lancer formed an alliance with us. That makes us allies."

His eyes narrowed, calculative and conniving. A few moments of silence passed before a smirk worked its way across his handsome features. "Very well, wife," he declared. "I shall do you the honor of also joining this so-called 'alliance' you are forming and lend you my gracious aid." With a self-satisfied expression, he sat back in the chair like it was a throne made of gold.

Lancer, who had been previously silent, shot off against the wall he'd been leaning against to shout, "Oh, hell no!"

Archer also objected, "Lady Kagome, I must insist that you decline."

Without looking at the two, the raven haired beauty raised a hand to halt further arguments. Her amethyst gaze remained locked on Gilgamesh.

She sighed. "I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to have another ally on our side, even one like you." It was meant to be an insult.

"In the upcoming battles, you will definitely see how far superior I am to these mongrels," Gilgamesh arrogantly stated.

Archer came to stand beside Kagome, his gaze imploring her to reconsider. It was bad enough he had fight with Lancer for her attention, but now with Gilgamesh thrown into the mix? It was a sheer nightmare unfolding before his very eyes.

"Are you absolutely certain about this decision, Lady Kagome?"

Lancer came up to her other side, the same worry gleaming in his eyes. "As much as I hate to agree with him, but Archer is right. Are you sure about this? I don't trust Goldie Locks over there about as far as I could throw him."

"As though I would ever let your filthy hands anywhere near my person," said 'Goldie Locks' sneered.

Kagome finally tore her attention away from the blonde to look at her other two Servants. She smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, you two. I have everything covered. Besides," she added, "I would rather have him on our side versus as an opponent. It's one less Servant to worry about when the others come for us."

Gilgamesh slammed a hand onto the table as if rendering judgment. "Listen to my queen and your Master and stop your quibbling. She has made her decision, has she not? You will follow her orders." Sitting back in his seat once again, he lifted both feet to rest, crossed at the ankles, on the tabletop. He snapped his fingers imperiously. "Now, fetch me the finest cheese and wine you have available in this country. I wish to break my fast with my wife, and only the best will do."

A tick developed above Lancer's brow. "We're allies now, you bastard. We're not your slaves."

"Allies? Slaves? Is there really any difference? You use each other in some way."

"There's a huge difference, actually," Kagome said, exasperated. What exactly had she agreed to? And what would it take to make Gilgamesh stop calling her 'his wife?' It was like dealing with Kouga, the Wolf Demon Prince, all over again.

Archer leaned closer to whisper in Kagome's ear, "It is not too late to reconsider, M'Lady."

She observed as Gilgamesh and Lancer continued to bicker. "I may have bitten off more than I can chew," she admitted.
