Does anyone else think Young Chris Argent was… what's the word? Scrumptious!
Silverfinger:
"I can't believe you!" I shouted angrily as I shook my head rapidly with a scowl on my lips and I crossed my arms over my chest as I glared at Isaac from across the room. After waking up from my creepy random demonic ninja induced unconscious state, Allison, Scott, Isaac and I went to the Argent's apartment because apparently, Chris knew something about our new enemy. We had arrived to find Chris passed out in the hallway and Allie was now stitching up his head wound as I dragged Isaac into Allison's bedroom to yell at him for not telling me he had been attacked.
"Sophie…" Isaac started to say meekly with a pleading glint in his steely blue eyes but I just held up my hand to cut off his argument before he could make it.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me! You were attacked by shadow dwelling, sword swinging, demonic ninjas and you didn't think to tell anyone about it?!"
"I did! I did think to tell you about it, but then Chris asked Allison and I not to say anything for twenty four hours." He admitted sheepishly as he held both his hands up in surrender and I scoffed in annoyance as I turned my head away from his imploring eyes with my lips pursed together. "Come on, Sophie. You know I hate it when you're mad at me. Please forgive me?"
"You were attacked by creepy, supernatural creatures dressed in black and you didn't tell anyone."
"Please forgive me?"
"You were attacked by random, mask-wearing beings and you didn't tell anyone."
"Please forgive me?" Isaac begged me quietly as he clasped his hands in front of him in a begging motion and I stared back at him blankly as he sighed heavily with guilt written all over his face. "How about I tell you what happened between me and Allison?"
"Something happened between you and Allison?" I asked him eagerly as I snapped my head around to look at him and a small smirk spread across his lips because he knew that I was intrigued with the new topic. He slowly walked backwards until he was sitting on the edge of Allison's bed and his smirk widened as he tapped the spot next to him in invitation for me to join him. I hesitated a moment before my curiously got the best of me and I groaned to myself as I walked over to sit down next to him on the bed. "Stop the stupid smug smirk and tell me what the hell happened?"
"Alright, alright." He murmured softly as he bent his leg underneath him on the bed and I shifted to get comfortable as I tilted my head curiously to the side. "So, the two of us were reading about flies in the Argent's bestiary and I might have sort of tried to kiss her."
"Ah! Really?" I asked excitedly with a bright smile as I grabbed his hands in mine and he chuckled at my enthusiasm as he nodded slightly with a grin on his lips.
"Yeah, yeah, I did but she didn't let me. She completely freaked out actually. Started yelling about how I must be crazy to think she'd ever kiss another werewolf. I pretended that I didn't want to kiss her either and I, uh, I stripped off my shirt."
"What?!"
"Hey! It worked, alright?" he defended himself with an amused chuckle as I tried to control the laughter that threatened to escape my lips and I nodded sagely with a mock serious expression as I cleared my throat gently. "Allison stripped her shirt off too."
"Nice." I complimented him with a giggle as I held my hand up for a high five and he laughed at me as he slapped his hand against mine.
"Thanks, but you haven't heard what happened next. Her dad walked in."
"Oh, my god." I whispered in a voice filled with a mixture of amusement and horror as I stared at him with wide eyes and he winced at the memory with a grimace as he nodded in agreement to my sentiment.
"He walks in and says, 'Allison. Can I see you in my office? ... Where I keep my guns.'" He recited in an impressive imitation of Chris' gruff voice and I covered my mouth with my hand to block the laughter that slipped out of my mouth. "It wasn't funny. As soon as they were out the door Chris shouted, 'Another werewolf?!' I swear to god, the windows vibrated with the sheer force of his voice."
"It couldn't have been that loud." I protested weakly as I shook my head at him with a smile on my lips but he just shook his head in disagreement as he leant forward to emphasis his point.
"I swear that they did. It was terrifying. And embarrassing."
"And hilarious."
"No! No, it wasn't!"
"You really need to rethink your definition of hilarious. Because that? That is basically is the definition." I told him teasingly through the giggles that were slipping out from between my lips and he scowled at me playfully as he pushed my shoulder gently in reprimand.
"Does this mean you forgive me?" he asked me softly with a pitiful pout as he grasped my hands and I scrunched my nose up in mock thought as I rocked my head from side to side.
"Yeah, okay." I agreed with a grin as I launched myself into his arms and he caught me as we both fell back onto the bed while in peals of laughter.
I climbed out of my Camaro at the front of the high school as I glanced up at the building and I fought the scowl that crept its way onto my lips as I slammed the door closed. I placed my hands on my hips in my French Connection Tetris Check Jumpsuit, Black Buckle Strap Calf High Shoe Boots with my hair in a French twist and I thought about how ridiculous it was to be going to school when we had to worry about demonic ninja's. I turned my head to the side as three motorbikes parked next to my car and they all took off their helmets to reveal Aiden and Ethan on either side of Scott.
"Boyfriend. Brother. Boyfriend's brother. Good morning." I greeted the three of them brightly as I walked over to Aiden's side and they all turned to me as I came to a stop next to my new boyfriend. Aiden smiled at me as I leaned down to press my lips against his passionately where he sat still on top of his motorbike and he cupped the back of my neck as I rested my hand on his shoulder to steady myself. I pulled back with a satisfied moan clawing its way up from the back of my throat and I smirked slightly at the lust in Aiden's chocolate brown eyes as I quickly pecked his lips once. "So, what's going on?"
"They followed me to school." Scott explained in exasperation as he stored his helmet on the back of his motorbike and I frowned in confusion as my brother turned his attention from one twin to the other with a raised eyebrow. "You guys going to be doing this all day?"
"All day." Ethan responded calmly with an amused grin as he dipped his head in sort of a nod and I bit the inside of my cheek to stop from laughing at Scott's annoyed expression.
"All night." Aiden added in the same tone as he wrapped an arm around my waist and I folded my hands together on top of his shoulder with an amused purse of my lips.
"Is this about being in my pack?" Scott asked them in a tired voice as he looked between them and Aiden smirked at him slightly as he shook his head in denial.
"This is about you being the target of demonic ninjas."
"You mean the demonic ninjas that pulled swords out of their chests and completely kicked our asses?" Ethan asked in mock confusion with a frown as he looked over at us from Scott's other side and I breathed out a laugh as Aiden nodded at his brother with a small sarcastic smile.
"Yeah. Those demonic ninjas."
"I don't need anyone to protect me." Scott told them firmly as he shook his head at them and I rolled my eyes at him as I hid my face in the crook of Aiden's shoulder so that my brother wouldn't see.
"They were looking right at you when the sun came up." Ethan reminded him pointedly as I lifted my head back up with a small pout on my lips and
"And they also disappeared. Argent thinks that they could just come out at night."
"Since this is our first experience with demonic ninjas, we're thinking we should play it safe."
"All day." Aiden repeated cockily with a smirk on his lips as he climbed off of his bike and Scott rolled his dark brown eyes at him as Ethan climbed off his own bike.
"And all night." I finished with a matching smirk as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I lifted my hand up to link our fingers together as Scott climbed off his motorbike. My brother sighed in resignation as he nodded in defeat and he started stalking towards the front of the school as the twins and I trailed after him dutifully.
"Are you okay after last night?" Aiden whispered in a concerned voice as he leaned down so that his lips brushed my ear and I ignored the shiver that ran down my spine as I instinctively leaned into his touch.
"I'm fine. Are you?"
"Nothing to worry about." He assured me quietly as he pressed a lingering kiss to my temple and I chuckled lowly with a soft smile as I ducked my head slightly at the affectionate gesture. I noticed Ethan roll his eyes at us on Aiden's other side as he smiled slightly to himself and I stuck my tongue out at him childishly when he glanced over at us with a smirk. He just rolled his eyes at me as we came to a stop in front of Scott's locker and the twins immediately glanced around to make sure there was no threat in the area as I fought the urge to roll my eyes at them.
"Okay, one thing first. I need to talk to Stiles and let him know everything that happened last night. Without you." Scott said firmly as he opened his locker door with a frown and Aiden tensed slightly next to me as he immediately scowled the back of my brother's head.
"No."
"Yes. And I don't want you listening in. No wolf hearing."
"How would you even know?"
"I'm a true Alpha. You have no idea what I can do." Scott stated vaguely without actually answering the question as I pressed my lips together to stop from laughing at the twin's perplexed expressions.
"Scott, that's not how you get people to do what you want." I scolded him lightly with a mocking frown on my lips as he turned around to look at me with a raised eyebrow and I grinned wickedly as I spun around to plant my lips onto Aiden's. He immediately kissed me back with equal passion as he wrapped an arm around my waist and I cupped his chin with one hand as his other hand found its way to my hip. I reached behind me to where his hand was as I linked our fingers together and slowly slid his hand down to my ass before making him squeeze gently as I sucked his lower lip in between my teeth. I pulled back with a small moan escaping my lips as I rested my forehead against his breathlessly and my lips grazed back over his in a whisper of a kiss as he tightened his hold on my waist. "Please…"
"Yeah, okay." Aiden murmured absently in a distracted voice as he stared at me with heated chocolate brown eyes and I grinned victoriously as I pulled back slightly to pat his cheek with my hand.
"Excellent." I chirped brightly as I stepped back out of his arms and he blinked once in confusion as I spun around on my heel to look at my brother. "Let's go, Scott."
"Hey, wait a second!" Ethan called after us as I dragged my brother down the hall quickly with giggle and Scott laughed out loud as he jogged to keep up with my fast pace. I glanced over my shoulder to make sure the twins weren't following us and I saw them standing in the same place with annoyed expressions as I blew them a mocking kiss. We took off towards the chemistry rooms where Stiles was going to meet us and saw him nervously pacing in front of one of the labs doors.
"Stiles, hey!" Scott called in greeting as we approached him and the human's head snapped around in surprise with wide eyes as he paused in his pacing.
"I gotta tell you guys something." Stiles said abruptly as he shook his head a little with a slightly manic glint in his eye and I frowned in confusion as he opened the door to the chemistry lab for us.
"What is it?" I asked him in concern as we followed him into the chemistry room and
"So, last night I was talking to that girl Caitlin, the one whose girlfriend was ritually sacrificed by Jennifer, apparently she likes guys and girls so we were making out on the stairwell – "
"Stiles!"
"Right, right. So then she starts talking about phosphors and the mysterious key I found on my keychain yesterday having chemicals on it, right? And so that made me think of the chemistry closet and the fact that someone had to let Barrow in…" he trailed off as he stopped in the middle of the classroom and stared at the blank blackboard at the front of the room where it had previously displayed Kira's name. "It's gone. Okay, it doesn't matter though. It doesn't matter. I've still got the key." He murmured to himself as he hurried over to the storage cupboard door and searched through his keychain almost frantically. "What the hell? I had it I had it here. I had it here this morning, I swear to God, I had it this morning."
"The key you were talking about last night?" Scott asked him in concern as he frowned sympathetically at his best friend and I wrapped my arms around my stomach as I leaned back against the table behind me.
"Yeah, I showed it to you, right? Didn't I show it to you?"
"No, you just told me about it. I never actually saw it."
"You never even told me about it." I stated apologetically when he glanced at me with pleading eyes and he visibly slouched in defeat as he rubbed his hand down his face.
"I was here a couple of hours ago. And the message left to Barrow spelling Kira's name was right there on the board in my handwriting and I had the key to the chemistry closet." Stiles said desperately as he pushed pass us on his way to the front of the room and I watched him in concern as he twitched more than usual with wracked breaths escaping him.
"So you unlocked the chemistry closet so Barrow could hide in it from the cops and then you wrote him a message to kill Kira?" Scott asked him unsurely as he followed him down the aisle and I trailed after them with a concerned frown on my lips.
"I know how it sounds, but look at this. This is the news report that came out about Barrow when they caught him, okay? About the shrapnel bomb that he used. See this?" he asked us frantically as he reached into his pocket for a crumbled newspaper article about William Barrow and I moved to stand next to Scott to look at the article in his hand. "See what he did? He put nuts, bolts and screws. And then he hid the bomb and the detonator in a box that he wrapped as a birthday present. What does that sound like to you? The joke we played on Coach. That was my idea. You remember? That was my idea. That's no coincidence. It can't be."
"I still need to kick your ass for that prank. That was very inconvenient for me." I murmured absently as I read the words in front of me and Stiles scoffed slightly in frustration as Scott rolled his eyes at me. "I don't want to sound like I'm trying to tell you that you're wrong. But I don't think you're trying to kill people either. You don't have any reason to want Kira dead. Other than her taking time away from your bromance with Scott."
"It was here. It was all here." Stiles whispered to himself quietly as he walked a few feet closer to the blackboard and I shared a concerned glance with my brother as I licked my lip nervously.
"Dude, are you feeling okay? You're looking really tired." Scott told him softly as he placed his hand on his friends arm and Stiles nodded absently as he turned to his back around to look at us.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just haven't been sleeping really."
"Why don't you go home? Take a sick day or something."
"You need some sleep, Stiles. If you don't get enough REM sleep your neuro-receptors lose their sensitivity to seratonin and norepinephrine leading to impaired cognitive function." I explained sympathetically as I rubbed small circles on his back and he scrunched his face up at me as he shook his head at me with a small smile.
"Yeah, yeah, okay. I'm gonna go home. Get some rest." Stiles murmured quietly as he glanced at the blackboard once more and I smiled at him a little as he picked up his backpack from the floor. We the three of us walked out of the chemistry lab together as Stiles nodded goodbye to us and I linked my arm through Scott's as we headed back towards where we had left the twins. Aiden and Ethan were waiting together next to Scott's locker right where we left that and they immediately glared at us when we approached them but I just smiled innocently as I walked over to my boyfriend's side.
"That was mean." Aiden stated calmly with a raised eyebrow as he wrapped an arm around my waist and I rested my hand on his chest as I smirked up at him seductively.
"I am mean." I told him in a patronising voice as I slid my hand up to cup his neck and he smiled genuinely as he leaned down to press a kiss to lips. I chuckled a little when I pulled back from him as he entwined our fingers and we started following our brothers down the hallway towards Scott's next class.
"Did you tell him?" Ethan asked Scott curiously as he held open the doors and I smiled at him in thanks as we passed through.
"No. He's got enough on his mind right now." Scott said with a sigh as he shook his head to himself and I hummed in agreement as I thought about how odd Stiles was acting only minutes before.
"If they're coming for you in a few hours then so do you." Aiden reminded him pointedly as he squeezed my hand reassuringly and I bit my lip to stop the stupid smile that threatened to spread across my lips.
"What if it's not me? Okay? What if I'm not the one they want?" Scott asked suddenly as he spun around to face us with wide dark brown eyes and I frowned at him in confusion as he turned back around.
"Who else is there?" Ethan asked him cluelessly as he raised an eyebrow at my brother but Scott was distracted by something down the end of the hall and I followed his gaze to where Kira was standing near her locker.
"Kira? Yeah, fine, whatever, I don't care about her safety." I said with a scoff as I narrowed my eyes at the back of my brother's head and Scott spun around to look at me with a completely scandalised expression as though I had just admitted to killing a puppy.
"Sophie!" Scott scolded me sharply as he gaped at me for a second and Aiden snickered slightly as I quirked an eyebrow at my brother.
"What? Scott, come on. Twin brother I shared a womb with? New girl I've known two minutes?" I asked myself rhetorically as I used my hands to pretend to measure them on a scale and then dropped them to my side with tight smile on my lips. "It's not even a contest."
"We're not going to just let her get hurt if we can do something about it."
"Why not?" I whined with a pout as I took my hand out of Aiden's and crossed my arms over my chest as Scott rolled his dark brown eyes at me. "Can you at least think about it? For me?"
"I thought you liked Kira?"
"I do! But if it comes down to you or her, I'm going to go with you, baby brother." I told him honestly as I patted his cheek patronisingly with a smile and he scoffed at me slightly as I walked pass him with a laugh.
I was heading towards the parking lot after school when I caught sight of Scott and the twins approaching their motorbikes and I slowly down to watch them with a sly smirk on my lips as they climbed onto their respective bikes.
"Guys, I appreciate you wanting to protect me. But I have to be alone for a bit. So, sorry about this." I heard Scott say as he turned on his motorbike with a smirk on his lips and the twins frowned at him in confusion as he started backing out of his parking spot. Aiden and Ethan both tried to start their bikes but they both stalled as Scott drove to the other side of the parking lot where Kira was waiting for him. I chuckled to myself as I approached where the twins were silently staring in the direction that my brother had driven off in and I came to a stop next to Aiden's side as they turned to look at me.
"Looking for something?" I asked them in mock confusion as I reached into my back pocket and pulled out the two spark plugs that I had stolen from their bikes earlier. Matching grins broke out across the twin's handsome faces as I slipped my hand into Aiden's and deposited the spark plugs into his hand. "Thank you for your help today, boys."
"Why did you have us following Scott anyway?" Ethan asked me curiously as he climbed off of his bike and took the spark plugs from his brother's outstretched hand.
"Because if he thought he only had to worry about you two trailing him up close, he wouldn't think for a second that someone was following him from afar. Plus, I knew that he'd ask me for help escaping you, so I'd know where he was and what he was doing at all times."
"So, basically, you have three different people and yourself stalking your brother." Aiden stated sarcastically as he bent down to fix his bike and I rolled my eyes at him playfully as I leaned my hip against the side of the bike.
"If you want to make it sound horrible and creepy, then yes, that's what I'm doing. Those demonic ninjas were looking right at Scott when the sun rose, according to the people who were conscious at the time, and I'm not going to let anything happen to him just because he's being an idiot." I argued in annoyance as I crossed my arms over my chest and he chuckled at me as he gazed up at me from where he was crouched in front of me.
"What time does the sun set tonight?"
"5.34pm, so be at my house at like 5.20pm just to be safe."
"Yes, ma'am." Ethan said mockingly as he climbed back onto his bike with a smirk and I smiled back at him sarcastically as he started his bike with a laugh. I watched with a small smile as he drove out of the parking lot and Aiden sighed slightly as I glanced down at him with an eyebrow quirked questioningly.
"What's the matter with you?" I asked him with a small smile on my lips as he finished fixing up his bike's engine and he smirked at me cockily as he placed his hand behind my bare knees. I bit my lip in between my teeth gently as I shivered at his touch and he slowly grazed his hands up until they reached the outside of my thighs.
"Well, we have all this time to spare…" Aiden trailed off seductively as he leaned towards the inside of my thigh and I gasped slightly when his lips brushed my skin as I glanced around to make sure no one was watching us. I wove my fingers into his light brown hair as he pressed a heated kiss to my skin that left a scorching sensation in its wake and I bit down harder on my lips to stop from moaning in pleasure.
"Okay, okay. We have an hour and a half. Let's go." I urged him eagerly with a giggle as I stepped back out of his reach and he grinned up at me as he climbed to his feet in front of me. I grabbed the collar of his jacket with a smirk as I stood up on my tiptoes and he chuckled lowly as I pressed my lips against his passionately. He snaked his arms around my waist as he lifted me slightly off the ground and I slid my arms up to wrap around his neck as he swiped his tongue across my bottom lip to silently ask for permission to enter.
"So, what were you doing after school?" mom asked me curiously as we walked towards the backdoor after I had picked her up from the hospital and I glanced over at her nervously as I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Oh, you know, I was just hanging out with friends." I answered her vaguely with a small smile as I remembered where I actually was that afternoon and mom scoffed out a small laugh as she looked over at me with an eyebrow quirked knowingly.
"Oh, really? Your lipstick is messed up, sweetie."
"I don't need a warrant. I'm your father." I heard my father shout sternly from inside the house as we got closer to the backdoor and I groaned in the back of my throat causing mom to look at me in confusion.
"No, you're a gene donor. I got my hair colour from you. And that's all I got. So you're not allowed to play tough dad with me." Scott said firmly in a calm voice as I grabbed mom's hand and gently pulled her towards the backdoor as she frowned slightly. We entered the kitchen where dad was standing at the head of the table with his laptop open and Scott and Kira were at the opposite end of the table with defiant and nervous expressions respectively.
"Hey, what's going on?" mom asked them in annoyance as she through her arms out to the side with a frown and I quirked an eyebrow at them all in question as I leaned my hip against the table.
"Maybe one of you should explain." Dad said to Scott and Kira as he pursed his lips in irritation and I frowned at them all incredulously as I shared a confused look with mom. The look shining through the window seemed to dim slightly as the shadow on the table disappeared and I followed the last stream of light out the window as the sun continued to set. I swore internally as I grabbed mom's arm toughly and she turned to look at me with wide eyes as I stared out the window in horror. "Scott, who the hell is this?"
"Dad, no! Dad, wait." Scott shouted at him as I turned to see dad walking into the lounge room and I pulled my behind me protectively as I stepped forward to see what had caught his attention. I let out a gasp of horror as one of the demonic ninja's from the night before stabbed a sword through dad's shoulder and Kira let out a high pitch scream as mom clung to my arm in terror. Dad collapsed to the ground as mom rushed pass me to his side and Scott stood defensibly in the doorway between the rooms as I hurried to Kira's side.
"Mom, go! Go, go, go, now!" I cried sternly as I pushed pass Kira to where Scott was standing and mom glanced at me for a second with panicked eyes before dragging dad out of the way by the arm. I kept my gaze locked on the demon ninja in the middle of the room as the front door flew open and Derek slid into the room with his werewolf features prominent as he growled loudly in warning. Scott and I both let our own werewolf features come out as another ninja appeared out of the shadows and I growled in the back of my throat as the ninja charged at me with its sword in hand. I dodged each of its swings easily as I backed up towards the backdoor in the kitchen and I tried not to look into its glowing yellow eyes as I remembered the chilling sensation it caused the night before. I heard glass breaking somewhere else in the house and then loud matching roars that I easily recognised as Aiden and Ethan.
"Mom, the ash! Mom, now! Do it now!" I head Scott shouted somewhere in the house as I dropped to the ground and swept my leg out to trip the unsuspecting demon as it tumbled forward out the back door. I sighed slightly as I spun around to help someone else but saw the twins shoving one of the demons towards the door and ducked just in time to avoid being hit as the demon fell through the backdoor. I quickly jumped to my feet as I ran into the other room and I saw Derek push another demon ninja out the front door as mom threw down the canister of mountain ash powder. The bottle smashed down on the threshold and formed a perfect line that sealed the barrier around the house so we were separated from the demon ninjas.
"Mom, go check on dad." I told her softly without taking me eyes off of the demonic ninja in front of me and I vaguely heard her retreating footsteps as Derek, Scott and I all changed back to normal.
"All of the baseboards are ash wood?" Derek asked us both with a slightly impressed tone in his voice as he studied the ground and Scott let out an exasperated huff as he turned to face Derek.
"Uh, yeah. It was Sophie's idea." My brother explained breathlessly as he rested his hands on his hips and I hummed in acknowledgement to the praise as I crouched down in the doorway to studied the barrier.
"Where the hell did you come from?"
"I've been following you."
"For how long?"
"All day. It was Sophie's idea." Derek said as though it was the most obvious thing in the world and I stood up from the ground with a guilty grimace on my lips.
"And that's enough of that. Come on, Derek." I said quickly as I grabbed a hold of his elbow and started dragging him away from Scott's outraged expression before he could scold me for having him trailed. "You just had to tell him that?"
"What's going to do about it now? We were only looking out for him." he said nonchalantly with a shrug of his shoulders as we came to a stop in the longue room and I spun around so that I was in front of him with a small frown on my lips.
"Speaking of looking out for people, what the hell happened in Mexico!? The last I heard you were only going for a few weeks to drop Cora off in South America and then coming back. Next thing I know, both you and Peter have disappeared without a trace and Cora has no idea where either of you are."
"We got in some trouble with a group of hunters."
"Calavera's?" I asked him in concern as I lowered my voice so that no one would overhear us speaking and his greenish eyes widened in surprise as he step forward slightly with a frown playing on his lips.
"You know them?" he asked me in the same low voice that I had used and I gave him a pointed look that made him sigh with a small smile on the edge of his lips. "Right. Of course you do, you're Sophie."
"That's right." I chirped happily as I patted his cheek patronisingly with my hand and he narrowed his greenish eyes at me as he grabbed my hand before pulling it down to his side. "The Calavera's are a major supernatural hunting family, kinda like the Argent's. They mostly reside South America."
"Peter and I were captured. The girl that Morell hired to save Isaac helped us escape."
"I thought she was a mercenary? You know, for hire?"
"Apparently, Deucalion hired her to save me."
"That's creepy? Do we think that's creepy?" I asked him with a small grimace on my lips as I tried to ignore the uneasy feeling in my stomach and Derek just shrugged slightly with a small frown on his lips. "Insightful. Thank you."
"I'm just glad I got out of there without losing a finger." He replied easily as he flashed me a small genuine smile as though it was some inside joke I wasn't in on and I quirked an eyebrow at him with a small smile playing on my lips.
"Do I want to know what that means?"
"No."
"Okay, then. It's good to see you, Derek." I told him honestly with a bright smile stretching across my lips as I wrapped my arms around his neck and he chuckled lowly as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I pulled back from the embrace as I brushed my lips against his cheek with a small smile and he released my waist as I unwound my arms from around his neck.
"Aiden…" I heard Ethan say warningly from the direction of the kitchen as I shared a smile with Derek and I sighed heavily as I turned my head towards the doorway that lead to the kitchen.
"Excuse me, I've gotta go stop my boyfriend from doing something stupid." I said to Derek absently as I started walking towards the kitchen and I heard him following after me as he mumbled something under his breath.
"Watch! See that? She can't go through it either. So, what are you?" Aiden asked Kira with a slightly threatening edge to his voice as he stepped towards the frightened raven-haired girl and Derek crossed his arms over his chest as we appeared in the doorway between the two rooms.
"She's a Kitsune, idiot. Use your eyes. You can see it all around her. The younger ones give off an aura. She just hasn't learned how to conceal it yet. She probably doesn't know what kind she is either." Derek explained casually as he walked towards them slowly with a knowing expression on his handsome face and I followed after him with a smirk as they all stared at us incredulously. I gracefully jumped on top of the table with my legs swinging over the edge and Derek stopped next to me as he glanced over in my direction with a cocked eyebrow. "Sophie, you didn't tell them?"
"No one asked me." I responded easily with an innocent shrug of my shoulders as I returned his smirk and I leaned back on my hands as everyone in the room looked over at me with questioning looks.
"You know about Kitsune?" Kira asked me eagerly as she stepped forward with wide eyes and I offered her a small smile as I nodded in answer to her question.
"There are thirteen different kinds of Kitsune. Celestial, wild, ocean, thunder. I think you're thunder Kitsune. According to myth, when a Kitsune rubs its tails together it can create fire or lightning called 'foxfire'. They're able to absorb a large amount of electricity into their body but foxfire is more than just electrical. There is a magical component as well."
"I need to go find Scott." She mumbled to herself as she frowned slightly and slowly made her way out of the kitchen as she glanced cautiously towards the twins on her way out.
"I wasn't going to hurt her." Aiden defended himself as he crossed his arms over his chest and glanced over at me as I tilted my head to the side in thought.
"Not yet." Derek replied easily as he walked over to the check the barrier near the backdoor and I followed his movements as I pursed my lips together in consideration.
"Why do you think we're here, Derek? For a study group? We're here to protect Scott."
"We're trying to fight for him." Ethan added in a softer tone than his brother as they both stared at Derek's back and I rolled my eyes slightly as I sat up straighter on the table with my lips pressed together in a straight line.
"I'm sure you are. I'm sure you'd kill for him. But are you willing to die for him?" Derek asked them both in a knowing voice tinted with amusement as he turned around to look at them and they shared a look as Derek strolled over to stand in front of me with his hand outstretched. "Come on, princess. Time to get your hands dirty."
"Oh, please. I could kick your ass and not break a nail and you know it, Hale." I teased him playfully as I placed my hand in his with a smirk and he raised his eyebrows at me as he helped me down from the table top. Suddenly, the whole house started to shake as though an earthquake was occurring and I grabbed a hold of the edge of the table as the plates in the kitchen crashed to the ground. I turned my head towards the door with wide eyes and I saw the demonic ninja's banging their swords against the glowing blue barrier created by the mountain ash. I noticed Scott and Kira running into the dining room together as we all looked in horror at the demonic ninja's.
"What are they doing?" Scott asked cluelessly as he stepped forward with concerned dark brown eyes and I scoffed out a small laugh as I turned my head to look at him with a small quirk of my lips.
"Other another scaring the crap out of us? Testing for weaknesses."
"Guys? We have a problem." Ethan called out over the loud banging caused by the demonic ninja's as they attempted to create a hole in the barrier and everyone looked over at the door as the demonic ninja applied constant pressure to the wall in front of them. Scott's phone buzzed in his pocket as he reached for it and I saw him sighed in relief as he held it up to his ear hurriedly.
"Allison, please tell me that you have something. They're here. They're trying to get in. And it looks like they're gonna' be able to do it." Scott told the young huntress in a rush as he stared nervously as the demons created a large hold in the barrier.
"Okay, okay listen. They're Japanese demons. They're called the Oni. They're looking for someone possessed. Someone with a dark spirit attached to them." Allison said in a rush through the phone line as I listened with my werewolf hearing to her side of the conversation and I stepped closer to my brother with a nervous frown on my lips.
"A Nogitsune." Scott and I both said at the same time in realisation as I ran a hand through my messed up hair and my brother looked over at me with wide dark brown eyes as he frowned at me in confusion.
"How'd you know that? Okay, they won't hurt you. They know you're supernatural but once they do this check, once they realize that you're not carrying with you this dark spirit, then they won't hurt you, I promise. All they're looking for is the Nogitsune."
"I'm right, aren't I? They're looking for me." Kira stated sadly as Scott hung up the phone with a sigh and he looked over at her earnestly as he shook his head at her.
"They're looking for a dark spirit. And I know it's not you." Scott said firmly as he touched her arm reassuringly but she didn't look confident in his assessment as she frowned slightly.
"Scott, Sophie, we're going to have to do something." Derek called to us with a wavering voice as I hurried to his side and I saw that the Oni had broken through the mountain ask barrier. Aiden and Ethan appeared on either side of Derek and I as the four of us stood ready for a fight in front of the door.
"Don't do anything." Scott told them sternly as he stepped forward into the middle of the room with a serious expression and I glanced over my shoulder at him uncertainly as I licked my lips nervously.
"Is he serious?" Aiden asked me incredulously as we watched the Oni stalk into the room in a line and I gave him a small frown as I shrugged my shoulders hesitantly because I wasn't sure if I liked the idea of letting the Oni anywhere near Scott.
"I said don't do anything. Trust me. You're gonna be okay." My brother said softly to Kira as he held out his hand for her to take and she swallowed nervously as she placed her hand in his with a small nod.
"Scott…" I trailed off warningly as he slowly walked pass us towards the Oni and he offered me a small smile as he approached where the Oni were watching in a straight line. Scott's body stiffened as the Oni grasped the side of his hand in its hand and I immediately tensed with the need to protect him but Aiden slipped his hand into mine to keep me next to him. I squeezed his hand tightly as another Oni grabbed Kira in the same hold and they both dropped down to their knees in front of the Oni. I made a small disgruntled noise in the back of my throat as Aiden wrapped an arm around my waist to stop me from intervening and the Oni tossed both of them to the side before disappearing in thin air as I immediately ran to Scott's side where he was sprawled on the ground. "Scott?"
"See? Totally fine." Scott assured me faintly in a breathless voice as he blinked up at me with tired grin and I scoffed out a laugh as I shook my head at him with a small smile on my lips.
