The night dragged for the brunette as she frantically looked around the room, head spinning as she looked back at the dead girl whose identity she now planned to steal to try and keep a low profile but get a closer step to Buffy. Faith felt a couple of tears form under her doe eyes looking down at both of her hands.

"Why?...You made me...you made me do this...YOU MADE ME DO THIS YOU STUPID CUNT!" Faith screamed out around the room before aggressively wiping her face from the tears that were rolling down her cheeks. The brunette narrowed her eyes and turned back to the mirror no longer flashing her delicious grin but her eyes full of sadness, regret, and pain as her mind flashed back to the events of the previous days leading to here. Suddenly she snapped out of the brief meltdown not allowing these feelings to take a hold of her, instead slamming her fist into the mirror causing the glass to shatter all around her, blood dripping from her knuckles before turning back to the bed licking the blood from her cuts similar to a feline grooming itself. Her eyes became darker once again grabbing at her bag pulling out the small pink tablets throwing a couple to the back of her throat before pulling out a lighter. She tilted her head as she played with the lighter for a few seconds watching the flame flicker inches from her skin, eyes now looking over at the bed. "Hmm...this will do..."

Her grin reappeared across her face walking towards the body, eyes looking down at the victim's wrist sporting a luxury watch with the current time of 23.30. Faith scoffed as she pulled the watch off of the woman placing it inside her jacket pocket. "Time to take care of you first..."Faith lifted the body up throwing the lifeless woman over her shoulder like a sack, eyes looking back to the business card she had discovered. "...then I'm gonna have some fun" A harsh chuckle escaped from the brunette as she grabbed a black hooded jacket making her way back to the fire escape before disappearing into the night.

Sunrise soon came and the sounds of sirens echoed around the city causing Buffy to wake suddenly as if she knew something was not quite right. She turned and noticed she was now alone, her eyes squinting slightly as she made her way towards the nearby window watching the world around her wake. She smiled to herself before turning toward the kitchen switching on the coffee machine and the television. The blonde suddenly noticed a note on the kitchen worktop.

Breakfast has already been taken care of. Had to take off before sunrise ...be back soon. Spike x

Within a half-hour of Buffy finishing her coffee as promised breakfast arrived at her door, but before she had the chance to indulge in the various pastry treats and condiments her attention was pulled towards the TV. Pressing the volume button she moved closer to the screen as she listened.

"Another attack similar to the previous warehouse fire only this time there was one single victim. The victim is unrecognizable due to the severity of the fire, and it is thought the perpetrator of this attack is the same suspect as the previous incident..."

Buffy swallowed hard looking at the screen dropping the remote as the news continued with further details and a sketch of the suspect, which caused the hairs on the back of the blonde's neck to stand on end. Buffy took a few steps closer to the screen staring into the eyes of the drawing almost as if she knew who it was. Buffy switched off the news changing the channel to a local music station before making herself another coffee, shaking her head as she began muttering to herself. Soon her thoughts were interrupted when the sound of an email came through. Buffy sat in her office chair sipping her third coffee before opening the email.

Buffy. It's Gabrielle. How are you?

The blonde smiled softly as she typed back her response.

Gabby. It's good to hear from you. I thought I may have scared you off. B

Opening the email from the other side of the laptop Faith's mouth twitched seeing how Buffy had signed off the email. Faith was unsure how to feel knowing Buffy was signing off using the infamous nickname the brunette gave her since their first meet. Faith's eyes suddenly darted back and forth, almost glistening as she looked over at the previous emails sent between Buffy and Gabriella. It would seem some kind of bond was building between them. Faith's fingers began to tremble reading the previous emails. She felt as if Gabriella and she were very similar with how their lives had panned out, it was almost too good to be true. The brunette grinned from ear to ear as she sprawled out on the bed of her latest victim's apartment wearing a pair of biker boots and jacket that didn't belong to her, but were now claimed. She took a deep breath as she wrote back.

You could never scare me off, I just needed some time. I miss our talks. x

Faith scoffed as she sent the next message overcome with jealousy and anger as her eyes continued to scan the previous emails sent via Gabby's account until a particular one caught her attention.

Buffy. I'm a mess. That's why this whole slayer thing is freaking me out. I have made so many mistakes in my existence including taking a human life...You shouldn't bother with a waste of space like me...

Faith chuckled to herself as if she was getting off reading the email but suddenly she slowly began to piece everything together. Buffy had been supporting Gabrielle since Faith disappeared. The timelines all matched up and there were even a number of video calls between them both as well as a folder with two images included. Faith gasped as the file opened. Two photos appeared of Buffy leaning on a balcony, champagne in hand with the words above. "Wish you were here" Faith blinked several times staring at the blonde as if she was a stranger to her now before throwing the laptop off of the bed burying her head in her hands, she finally allowed herself to cry.

Hours passed and the brunette had fallen into a deep sleep only to be woken with a loud knocking. It was the front door of the apartment. Faith swallowed hard and slowly walked to the door stopping halfway when she heard a voice. "Gabriella? Gabriella? Sei a casa?

"Great...just what I need" Faith muttered under her breath grabbing the Jackal knife from her inside pocket as she made her way towards the door.
