Chapter 7 Toby'd up and the path to recovery
They finally got back to the house after a deathly quiet ride back as nobody what to say knowing both people in the back were in so much pain and they did not know what to do or how to help them. Slowly they made their way into the house as Walter slowly moved past everyone towards his room closing his door as Paige stood at the bottom of the stair trying so hard not to give in and cry to be strong for both of her children not knowing what to think after what Florence said about her, she did not want to voice it as she wanted to forget everything that had happened just hours ago. Everyone just looked around until they all heard a loud crash bringing Paige back to reality as she ran up stair to Walter's room with everyone following as she tried to open the door, she found it was stuck and could not get it to open. Happy seethed out knowing Walter blocked the door and it would need a lot of force to open it more than she or Cabe would be able to exert on the door until she spotted Ramone and she asked Sly to do some calculations to see if he could open the door and with Sly's calculations and he rough estimate of the force needed he would be able to do it and she just stared at the man as she told him the plan nobody liking it but what could they do they all heard a crash and did not know what it was but they were going to find out now.
Walter laid on the ground hating everything that had happened how could he have let himself get caught much less let him do that to Paige. Tears started falling faster and faster he had to get away from all of this he couldn't stand himself and how he let Paige get involved how he had let her down. Getting up he started to run as fast as his body would allow luckily enough that he didn't break any bones. Moving faster and faster his mind dragged him further down reminding him that it was all his fault for what had happened to her.
Ramone stood in front of the door just looking at it almost as if he was sizing up his enemy readying to take them down and then in an instant, he kicked the door as the hinges gave way and the door flew a few inches back to land on the ground as he quickly went in to see where the man was only to see no sign of him in the room and to see blood on the broken window glass wondering what the hell happened to cause this. Toby walked in seeing the blood looked right at Paige "What happened when you were capture" only to be elbowed by Happy as Cabe and Ralph glared at him.
"Why does that matter" she stated hesitantly.
"Well, it might have to do with the blood all around the glass and a missing Walter" he stated in a professional voice they almost never heard as everyone just stood there shocked as his face slowly turned sad as his only friend that could go back and forth with no worries was missing and injured.
"Everything aside you two let's find him and we can discuss what happened after Paige you and Walter will both sit down and talk about what happened with Toby" Ramone and Cabe said in unison.
"Fine" both Toby and Paige said sourly for different reasons but same understanding.
Walter kept moving blood drops on the ground the whole way, but it didn't matter he needed to get to her grave he needed to be close to her somehow as she was no longer with him. He slowly made his way to her grave finally falling as he hit the ground next to her grave passing out from exhaustion or blood loss he didn't know and his mind was to foggy to discern which it could be but he knew it was slowly getting harder to breath maybe it was better this way maybe then nobody would have to deal with things happening like they had a few hours ago because he would finally be with his sister again he said as tears slowly came out wondering why he could love a woman so much but could not protect her he was completely worthless if his 197 IQ couldn't protect the woman he loved from being harmed.
They had all gotten outside seeing where he landed only to see pools of blood leading somewhere and they were going to find out where it led. They followed the blood when Toby noticed the blood trail was becoming less and less and it worried him it meant Walter was probably bleeding out but without knowing his location, they could not call for help to get the man to a hospital. Soon, they all saw something that they did not expect not any of them but Toby as he saw all the blood on the ground and knew what it meant Walter laid there on the ground unconscious as everyone grabbed their phones all trying to call for help while Toby ran over to Walter seeing all his cuts covered in dirt as he muttered curses under his breath seeing a liquor store nearby he got up and told Cabe to rip his clothes off and that he would be right back as he ran over to the liquor store as everyone watched him run off knowing it was only a matter of time till Walter would die Toby ran inside looking for a good size bottle of whiskey to disinfect the cuts and bandage them up for now he wasn't going to let the only man who could keep him from going completely insane with his egotistical side and he needed him.
Walter felt his conscious slowly fade as he went to a beach, but he didn't understand and then he saw it the rocket he sent into space with a letter on it.

I know you still struggle but I don't want you to be afraid to love her and be yourself she loves that yes pain does come with relationships look at how I hurt Sly when I passed away yes he was happy that our little time was so enjoyable and I am too but it still hurt when I passed away.

Toby finally got back and start to pour the alcohol on the wounds as he swiftly as he could. "Well I did the best I could and I Toby'd the hell out of him now we just have to hope the they arrive in time to help the stubborn bastard we can't have the boss dying on us" Toby said as tears slowly fell and his nerves spiked to an all-time high he couldn't stand to lose him before they fixed everything before they passed Scorpion on to the next generation Toby just walked away stating he needed to find something to help him but everyone could clearly see how hurt the doc was.
"Toby, could we talk about what happened" Paige asked as she walked up to him hoping that they both could distract their minds from Walter's current state.
"Sure, if that's what you want. I mean that's my job after all right' Toby stated trying not to break down.
"Tim and Florence tied up Walter and started to say I belonged with Tim and she told me I was too stupid for Walter calling me a stupid slut and then to make it all worse Tim forcefully kissed me and shoved his tongue in my mouth and now I feel so unclean I need Walter more than ever and now he is on the verge of dying inside and out and I don't know what to do" Paige whispered pleading for him to help her.
"Paige you can get through this and so will 197" Toby said smiling the best fake smile he could.
Walter laid there unconscious not knowing that everyone surrounded his lifeless body. They all sat there staring at him just wondering how someone so smart could be so stupid or maybe he didn't realize the blood would lead them to him and that they would be longer to get there. Walter started to cough but as he was coughing blood came up too as Toby was heading back with Paige in tow as he saw the blood he knew now that they may have lost their boss if the ambulance didn't arrive soon to get him and as if a they heard him they all heard the sirens going off as they got closer and closer as they turned to see them pulling up and the men jumped out with speed that Toby never saw in the states as he smiled it seemed like he would get better care here than he would in the states. They all ran back to the house after finding out where they would take Walter with Katherine tell them to take him to the best hospital they had, and Homeland would be paying for his medical bill. They all made it two hours later to the hospital as Walter was still under intensive surgery from all the lost blood and the wound even though Toby tried it looks like an infection had started and now they had to try and stop that too seeing only a few critical spots that were hit they started there making there way from most in need of attention to least in need of attention and 8 hours later and a lot of blood later they finally had finished and moved him to a recovery room where two of the five soldiers sat outside ass they decided rotations and Paige and Toby decided they would be staying with Walter as much as they could as they both were more worried than anything else Toby because he didn't think Walter would ever do this sure he threw cups and shattered them but the idiot busted open his window and jumped out a two story house and Paige still felt guilty and would not leave his side until he was awake again to show him that she did not want anyone else but him she wanted his touch his lips against hers to override what Tim forcefully took she needed to remember what Walter's kiss was like physically because even though her mind would reply how Walter kisses her it did not help the crawling feeling in her skin from Tim forcing that kiss upon her.
"I know you two are worried, but we are going to rotate who stays with him" Cabe stated showing that he would not take no for an answer.
Two weeks later Walter finally woke up confused more than he had ever been in his life when Paige ran up to him crying as he slowly tried to pull her closer, he stopped as he winced in pain, but she saw as she moved closer, he whispered in her ear "Can I kiss you? I know I couldn't protect you, but I do love you so much" Walter looked as if he used all his strength to talk when Paige pressed her lips against his as he just laid there kissing the woman, he loved more than anything. Toby looked up as they kissed "Get a room 197" he smirked as tears fell from his eyes.
"I have one it just so happens you seem to be in it also Know-it-all" Walter rasped out back at him as everyone enter the room with the doctor smiling to see his patient had finally woken up now they needed to only make sure he fully healed before he left.
