~Takashi Morinozuka~
Midnight Craving Bakery
Cell phone placed up to his ear, Mori grunted as he listened to the enthusiastic voice of Mitsukuni on the other end. The blonde male was ecstatic, his words exploding too rapidly for normal conversation, but Mori was used to his antics. He even nodded at appropriate times despite being unseen.
"—Okay, Takashi?" Mitsukuni said, drawing the conversation to an end. "Don't forget to tell Gome-chan! I have to go now. I'll stop by the bakery in a couple of days for my order! Bye-bye!"
Mori gave an affirmative grunt, knowing his cousin would understand. Slipping his phone back into his pocket, the former Wild-type Host went back to kneading the dough he'd been preparing prior to the call. Now an expert at creating soft, tender breads and other baked goods, his hands moved confidently with familiarity. He even found the action soothing.
"Was that Mitsukuni?" Kagome's sweet voice inquired, catching his attention.
Glancing over a broad shoulder, his eyes softened upon spotting the raven haired beauty. "Yes," he answered, voice deep and velvety.
"Is everything okay? Did he want to add to his order?" Amusement shined within her amethyst orbs.
The same gleam entered his eyes as he thought about his gluttonous cousin. "He did," he affirmed, nodding once. "He also had some news."
Kagome tilted her head to the side, like a curious puppy. The gesture could still make his heart flutter even after all of the years they had been together. He suspected it would always be that way, no matter what. "What is it, Takashi?"
"Tamaki and Fujioka are getting married."
Clapping her hands excitedly, she squealed, "Really? That's great! I'm so happy for them. I was starting to think Tamaki-kun wouldn't pop the question this decade."
Mori grunted, "Fujioka did."
Jaw dropping comically, it took a second for his blunt words to completely process before Kagome threw her head back and laughed until tears escaped the corners of her eyes. Watching her humor and delight of the situation brought a smile to his face. She was always so expressive, wearing her heart on her sleeve for all to bear witness to. Her bright and cheerful personality balanced his silent and stoic one. They really were the perfect combination.
Once her laughter had died down, Kagome commented, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. They've been together since Haruhi-chan was a second-year in high school, and they've been living with each other for the last three years. She probably got tired of waiting for him to propose."
"His plans were too elaborate." Shaking his head with exasperation, Mori couldn't help but remember the numerous times Tamaki had called a 'Host Club Meeting' to plan the perfect proposal. Despite not being in school anymore and each member taking their own paths in life, they still got together whenever possible. However, just because they had grown older didn't mean their adventures didn't end up just as crazy.
Kagome chuckled. "Knowing Tamaki-kun, I'm not surprised."
"There was one other thing Mitsukuni mentioned."
She blinked. "Oh?"
He smiled tenderly. "They would like to have you cater the entire event. They trust you to deliver the best wedding cake for them."
Amethyst eyes sparkled with the challenge even as warmth spread through her body at the thought of the newly engaged couple asking her to do something so important on their special day.
"I would be honored." A teasing smile curved her lips as she continued to stare at the taller male. "You know, Takashi, this sounds like it's going to be a really big job. I could use an assistant to help me."
Mori let a subtle smirk cross his handsome features. Ignoring the flour on his hands and abandoning the dough once more, he wrapped strong arms around the raven haired beauty to bring her close. He repeated her words back to her, "I would be honored."
With an effortless lift, he carried his precious cargo into the kitchen area, letting the sound of her giggles wash over his senses like a soothing balm. He closed his eyes briefly, truly and completely content with the direction his life had taken from the moment he had walked into the bakery and met Kagome.
Now, he just had to make his own 'elaborate plan' to propose to her…

~Kyouya Ootori~
From his private office in the back of the newly established bakery and restaurant, Crave, Kyouya happily crunched numbers, updated spread sheets, and added up the profits from their recent grand opening.
Once upon a time, his dream had been to take over his father's company ahead of his brothers. But, after meeting a certain raven haired beauty, that dream had steadily morphed into what it was today: Being business partners with a charming, talented, and sweet young woman named Kagome.
Of course, Midnight Craving was still solely hers. Crave and their other establishment, Starlight, had both of their names on the contracts, and Kyouya could happily admit to being content with the way things turned out. He didn't need his father's company or approval to be satisfied anymore.
He had something – someone – far more precious and worthy.
A light knock brought Kyouya out of his musings and when he looked up, a genuine smile graced his handsome features as the object of his thoughts walked in.
"I knew I would find you here," Kagome commented in amusement. Without a hint of hesitation, she slid into his lap, arms wrapping around his neck comfortably. "So? How did we do?"
Kyouya raised an amused brow. "If I actually thought you honestly cared about things like that, you wouldn't need me to be your bookkeeper." Kagome definitely wasn't the type who went after money just because she could or because she sought fame. She loved to bake and she loved making people happy with her delicious confections. As long as she could do those two things, she'd be happy no matter what.
"But you do such a good job of it," she said, playfully fluttering her eyelashes.
A smirk tugged at his lips. "Flattery will get everywhere, my dear." The giggle she released in response utterly charmed him. Then again, that had been true since the moment he'd met her. "Now, tell me. What brought you back here? Are your customers already gone?"
"The bakery closed almost half an hour ago, Kyouya. I was just waiting for you so that we could head home."
Surprised, he checked his wristwatch. "Ah, I didn't even realize how late it had gotten. We should stop by somewhere for dinner. What do you feel like having, Kagome? My treat."
Kagome's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "This feels like some sort of trap."
The expression on his face was predatory. "I have no idea what you're talking about," he refuted. He gently squeezed her. "Besides, what's wrong with wanting to treat the woman who is making me a very rich man?"
She released a mock-gasp of horror and shock. "I knew it! You're only with me for my money," she dramatically exclaimed. Her facial features shifted into a 'woe-is-me' look. "What will the children think? Oh Kami-sama, what will Daddy think?"
Kyouya burst out laughing, an action that only she could bring out. The deep sound caused her own expression to melt, and a smile curved her lips upward.
"I would prefer it if you didn't bring up those devilish twins or that foolish King," he said, his laughter calming though his grey eyes still gleamed with mirth. "Although, speaking of Hikaru and Kaoru, they emailed me the latest design idea they had for your new uniform for the bakery."
Kagome clapped excitedly. "How wonderful! I'll take a look at them tonight. The uniforms they made for Starlight were simply perfect. I can't wait to see what they had in mind for Crave."
Affectionately, he ran his fingers through her silky hair. His eyes were soft with both love and devotion. "We should also start planning for the next location, Kagome."
"Kyouya," she whined, "we just got this place up and running. Why do we need to start thinking about the next place already? Can't we just bask in the glow of our success first?"
He hummed thoughtfully, his fingers still idly playing with her hair. "I suppose we could take a break since we already have three successful businesses." He paused for a second, making sure he had her complete attention before continuing. "How about we start planning our wedding?"
Her amethyst eyes widened, clearly surprised by his suggestion. "Kyouya…" This time when she said his name, it came out breathy and wistful. "Do you really mean that?"
"Of course I do. I want to marry you as soon as possible." If he'd had it his way, they would've been married within the year they had started dating.
A beautiful, heart stopping smile broke out across her features. "Yes," she nearly cried. "Yes, let's start planning our wedding."
"Good. Now, where do you suggest we start looking for our wedding cake? I still have the multiple bakeries in my phone's contact list from when I had to order in sweets for the Host Club."
Kagome released a playful war cry, "Kyouya!"
