The next morning they had gotten up and had gotten ready for their respective jobs, Kitty was looking agitated as Peter sighed as he told her "come on Kitty, it was an accident! Besides even if I didn't mean to do it literally you were the one telling me to rip it off you!" Kitty shook her head as she faced him.
"That was a perfectly good bra that you snapped! I hope that you take this as a lesson to keep your strength in check because I would hate for it to get to the point where I would need to phase out of my clothes not to get them ruined by you." Kitty retorted sternly but then saw him looking over her in her professional clothes. "Does this outfit look better than my uniform you insulted yesterday?" Kitty asked grinning as Peter then kissed her on the cheek.
"You look like you could pass for a model instead of a student teacher at a school for Mutants. Plus I promise that I will mend your bra later." Peter told her as he then headed for the door after getting his bag and she joined him. They went down the stairs and after going through the door waved to eachother as they went their separate ways.
He made his way to the General Techtronics Labatories East building and went in after getting his labcoat. He made it to his workplace and then put out his web-shooters to look them over. Then came forward a balding man with a goatee and a green business suit, Dr Eric Schwinner who ran the public demonstration that he had attended where he was bitten and was now the director of the facility. "I hope you remember Mr Parker, I don't mind you doing Spider-Man related stuff here as long as you make sure to focus on the work given to you and projects not related to it." Eric said as Peter remembered the night of his day on the job:
Peter had put together the materials for his new suit but then the lights went back on as he noticed Eric there, "Mr Parker, working hours ended over an hour ago. I hope you are not attempting to trick me into paying you overtime at the last minute..." Eric chided as he came over getting a closer look on what he was working on much to Peter's horror and panic. Eric then noticed a web-shooter and picked it up before Peter could stop him and ended up shooting a web.
"Dr Schwinner sir, I can explain..." Peter pleaded as Eric was open mouthed.
"I must say that this is unexpected Mr Parker, any other man would have happily put being Spider-Man's tech expert on their resume. Then again you didn't put in how you sold all those pictures of Spider-Man to the papers." Eric said as Peter was surprised but happy to take the excuse.
"Well since you might have heard that my girlfriend is Shadowcat of the X-Men, if this got out then people might start thinking that I am a link to all of the superheroes. I don't want people thinking if Mr Fantastic could fix their toaster or wanting to ransom me against the Avengers." Peter replied thinking that he deserved a medal for this improv.
"Don't worry Dr Schwinner, I will just be looking over the web-shooters and that's the end of any Spider-Man related work here tonight." Peter replied and then entered a smiling brown haired man wearing goggles, a dark green jumper with a labcoat over it and four mechanical arms coming out of his back.
He was Doctor Otto Octavius who in Peter's first year as Spider-Man was on a rampage after an accident in his personal lab caused by funding cut, he had became a persistent enemy as the villain Doctor Octopus or Doc Ock. He had recently reformed and it seemed to be legit and it helped Peter lower his suspicions about him which was good considering what had happened recently.
"I wouldn't be so sure of that Dr Schwinner because if Peter has the time, I have come up with blueprints of a special web like cape that could allow Spider-Man to glide down if they need arise." Otto said as he went to his workbench after greeting Eric, Peter and the other employees there. "Have you and Ms Pryde settled in your new home well enough?" Otto asked as Peter gave him a wave.
"Just well, how is life going for you?" Peter asked as he saw that Otto's arms were waving to him.
"As well as could be but on the bright side my probation officer is loosening up after two years. I don't get two calls a day making sure that I am not making a doomsday device or planning to turn the Sun into a laser." Otto said chuckled and then looked to Peter. "I hope you are coping with what happened, May is proud of you and hope you are not too bothered about this." Otto asked as Peter sighed.
"As long as you both are happy and healthy, then all this is just fine Uncle Otto." Peter said shaking his head as a part of him will never believe that after his reformation that he ended up dating his Aunt May and they had gotten married recently.
Before Otto could think of something else to say they saw several people in suits enter and there was a tall African American man which they recognised, Senator Kyle Richmond who years ago had came out of nowhere with his company Richmond Industries and his philanthropy definitely helped with his successful campaign to be elected Senator.
"Senator Richmond has recently acquired this facility and he has come to make sure that his money has been well spent." said one of the men in suits by Richmond had him step aside as he came closer.
"Doctor Octavius, I have read your work and it is most impressive." Richmond said coming over taking Otto's human hand to shake with a smile which was returned. "I believe that you have heard of my campaign to help the underfunded mental health facilities such as Ravencroft so that their patients can be helped to rejoin society. I hope that you don't mind as your new boss using you as a shining example that criminal reformation is more than a possibility." Richmond said with a smile and Otto chuckled.
"I take no offense sir, i am just happy to work here with my new step-nephew as we deal with the fact that he works for my former enemy." Otto said as Peter was surprised at Otto saying that but decided to roll with it as Richmond raised an eyebrow looking down at Peter's workbench making Peter nervous.
"I will leave you both to your work as I explore what this facility has to offer me." Richmond said as he then left with his associates.
"A little heads up would be nice Doc before you put me at the centre of attention." Peter told Otto who looked at him apologetically.
Eugene 'Flash' Thompson was quite proud of his size and talents as a star football player, his square of childhood friends including his later girlfriend Sally Avril liked to pick on the smaller more worthless kids especially that puny nerd Peter Parker. Unfortunately it got harder when they had gotten to Midtown High School with the staff being stricter with physical alterations and he could put his career aspirations at risk. Plus when Parker got accepted to some fancy science school.
Then that Spider-Man lunatic started appearing (with Parker somehow managing to get good pictures to sell) and Sally became enamoured with the idea of the thrills of being a costumed hero and so she had donned a costume and codename called Bluebird. She wasn't very successful despite her gymnastics and Spider-Man loudly telling her to stop as this wasn't a game and she kept getting hurt despite the homemade gadgets that she had brought together with the help of their friend Jason Iontello.
Then Parker hooked up with one of those Mutie freaks in the X-Men probably to get popularity points and he was unable to show him whose boss anymore since it made him a little bit of an undeserved celebrity.
However Sally as Bluebird ended up being killed with her superhero identity being revealed. He was grief stricken as he and their friends talk about how great she was. However when Parker was questioned he was nervous in talking about how his times with her wasn't great and it picked up with their associates at school being honest in how much of a horrible person they thought that she was.
It ruined her memory to the public as just a mean girl who got herself killed because she wanted to be a thrill seeker.
It made him furious and he decided he would make sure that Parker would pay for doing this to her memory, she would have been a great hero f it wasn't for that accident!
He ended up after college on a minor team and thought about going for public office to help get justice for Sally by going after phony heroes like Spider-Man or the X-Men. He was disappointed to learn that there was an age limit to run for Congress, Senate or even the Governor so he settled on New York City Mayor. Despite the best efforts of him and his group, the election results only had him as a line on the result pie chart.
It was humiliating and he swore that he would make them pay, luckily he had made some friends that could help him. They were not just his friends but friends of humanity...
