Chapter 1

Buck takes a step back, "Ok, ok. Just tell us who…"

"I'm looking for our daughter!" She screams.

Buck looks at Abby with a stunned expression on his face.

"She fell asleep and a friend of mine who was travelling with us. She told me she would watch her while I went to the bar cart to get a drink." Abby starts crying. "Then the crash happened…I tried to find them…"

Complete and utter shock feels Buck's face. Eddie realizing that Buck is too stunned to speak takes over. He moves over to Abby and places a comforting hand on her shoulder "Can you give us a description."

Abby pulls out a phone and shows them a picture. "This is them. That's Sara my friend and that's…" She chokes back a sob. "That's Emma." The picture Abby shows them is of a women in her mid-thirties with long black hair. In the picture with Sara is a little girl about three years old with curly red hair and blue eyes with a huge smile on her face.

Buck grabs the phone from Abby and stares at the picture of his daughter. He had a daughter he didn't know about and she was trapped in that train car.

"They were in that car up there, toward the back." She says to Eddie.

Buck gives the phone back to Abby, "I'll find them Abby. I'll find her." He says with conviction in his voice.

"Thank you Buck." She says with tears in her eyes.

He puts his hat back. As he speaks his voice begins to break, "I'll bring our daughter back."

"Ok." As Buck and Eddie start to walk away Abby yells his name. "Buck!"

They both turn around., "Yeah."

Abby takes a deep breath. "She knows who you are."

Buck gets a confused look on his face.

"Emma. She knows who you are." She takes a moment before she continues. "We were on our way to see you. " She says as her voice breaks.

Buck takes a deep breath and nods his head and continues on.

Abby looks up at the sky. "God please keep them safe."

Bobby looked around the area has more rescue crews began to arrive. The scene was an utter disaster. There were bodies everywhere some injured, some trapped and a lot dead. As the rescue crews began clearing the area Bobby made his way over to Hen and Chimney. "You guys good over here?"

"Yea Cap." Hen answers.

"Ok. I'm going to check go help Buck and Eddie. When you guys finish up here head on up here we might need you."

Eddie and Buck make their way inside the train car. The two began to climb their way through the train car the spot a man way in the back of the car seemingly pinned by the seat. "Sara! Sara! Can you hear us?" Eddie shouts.

They hear a very faint voice say, "Here." The two men make their way to her. They find her covered in blood and pinned by a beam.

"Sara. I'm Buck. Can you tell me where Emma is?"

"She's was next to me when the train crashed." She answers in a strained voice. "I tried to protect her but everything happened so fast…" She starts to cry before she finish.

"Emma! Emma!" Buck shouts frantically.

Eddie hears a faint cry from the a few seats above where Sara is. "Buck wait… did you hear that?"

Buck stops his movements and listens. He hears the faint cry and begins to move toward it. He finds a bag covering the sound and moves it and finds a little girl shaking. Buck lets out a breath as relief floods through his body. "Eddie I found her!" He shouts. "Hey baby girl. My name's Buck."

Emma let's out a tiny whimper. "That's my daddy's name." She pauses before she continues. "Mommy said we go see him." She's in a small whisper.

Buck gives her a little smile, "Yeah. I'm going to take you to your mommy real soon ok." He moves a little closer to her. "Are you hurt?" He asks seeing the small cut above her head.

The little girl whimpers and nods her head, "My leg hurts."

Buck looks down at and he sees a huge cut on her leg. "It's going to be ok. I'm just going to take a closer look at your leg real quick." He moves her pant leg to get a closer look at her leg and sees there's a huge gash in it. Buck looks back up at her. "It's ok." He turns toward Eddie. "Can you get Sara out?"

"No, she's pinned by the beam." He looks over at Buck. We need to check on the guy and make sure he's ok."

"I'll check on him. I need you to get Emma's leg fixed up. She looks like she lost a lot of blood."

Eddie looks at him, "Go, I got it." He looks at Sara. "Hey, I'll be right back." Sara nods her head as Eddie makes his way toward Emma.

Buck looks down at the little girl, "Hey, I gotta go check on someone else but my friend Eddie is going to come and fix your leg up of and then we'll get you to your mom."

Buck reluctantly leaves Emma and makes his way toward the man in the back of the car. "Sir! Can you move?"

The man shakes his head no. Bucks to assess the man's injures. He looks down at Eddie, "This guy has a collapsed lung. This beam is pressing on it. We gotta get this beam off of him."

"You guys ok?" Bobby says as he enters the train.

"We two people pinned and a little girl that we need to get out of here." Eddie answers.

"Alright. I'm coming." Bobby climbs toward Buck and hands him the jaws. Buck grabs the jaws from Bobby and tries to move the seat but it doesn't budge.

"It's not moving." Buck says.

"Ok. Let's try the hydraulic ram." Bobby moves to get the ram. He hands it over to Buck.

"You got it Buck?"

"Yeah." Buck grabs the ram and places it under the beam. As soon as he starts using it they hear screams.

"Whoa…whoa." Bobby yells.

Buck stops what he's doing. Bobby and Eddie move toward the sound of Sara and her screams. "Sara what's wrong?"

"It's my side." She says in a labored breath.

"Ok. I'm going to take a quick look." Eddie moves her shirt up and notices the bone from her leg is sticking out of her torso. "Oh god." He turns his attention toward Bobby and Buck. "Ok, the force of the crash pushed her leg into her torse." Eddie turns back to Sara. "This is going to hurt a little bit." He takes off her shoe and touches the bottom of her foot. "There's still a pulse in her foot and bloods pumping to it."

Bobby looks and notices the beam sh. "That's a beam." He says as he looks over at them. Knowing the look Bobby is giving them they all move further down the train to reconvene.

"What's going on?" Buck asks.

"There both trapped by the same beam. If we take the pressure off of him than we are squeezing her." Bobby says. He turns toward Eddie. "Which one has the better shot?"

Eddie shakes his head before taking a breath. "Their injures are different but the risk is the same."

Buck looks between the two men. "Wha- what are we saying here? We have to choose which one of them lives or dies?"

Bobby sighs, "What I'm saying I don't think we can save them both."

Before Buck can say anything he hears a little voice calling his name, "Buck."

Buck moves like lighting toward Emma, "What's wrong." He asks in a small voice.

"I don't fee…" She passes out before a can finish.

"I need some help up here!" Buck yells. "Emma! Emma!" Buck screams as he tries to rouse. She slowly opens her eyes as Buck lets out a breath.

Eddie moves toward Buck, "Is breathing."

"Yeah but it's shallow. We got to get her out of here." Buck says.

"Ok." As Eddie hands Buck the neck brace. Bobby is bringing the board to them.

Buck carefully picks up Emma and places her on the board. Once she's secured the two men carefully move her out of the train. They meet Hen and Chimney outside. They set the board down so they can look her over.

"Her name's Emma. She has a small cut on her head. But a huge gash on her leg." Buck lets out a breath. "She lost consciousness for bit and her breathing shallow."

"Alright we got it from here." Chimney says. Buck does budge from is place beside Emma. Chimney and give each other a look when Buck doesn't move. "Buck we got this."

"She's my daughter." He says in a small voice. At his revelation they all look at each other in disbelief.

Eddie lays a hand on Buck's shoulder. "I know and she's in good hands." Eddie pauses. "But we still got a job to do."

Buck nods his head in agreement. He stands and gives Emma one last look. "Her mother Abby Clark will be looking for her.

Hen stands and lays a comforting hand on Buck. "Will make sure we find her ok. She's going to be ok Buck." Hen moves back toward Chimney and the two of them move down toward the triage tent.

Buck nods his head watches them leave. He finally turns around follows Bobby and Eddie back into the train to help the other two passengers.
