Hello everyone! Thank you again to those who have read this story thus far. Reviews are welcome and feel free to PM me!

I am winging the science camp if you could not tell. I made up the name, and I am guessing the location. From information given in the show, I think it is most likely located in the northern part of the United States. Since the Kratt brothers said they were born in New Jersey, at one point in the show, I used that as inspiration for the location of the camp.

I decided to let Violet be from the Outer Banks of North Carolina because of my love for this location. If any readers are from there, I apologize if I gave any inaccurate depictions!

As before, I do not own Wild Kratts or any characters created by the Kratt brothers for the show.

The day came when we were scheduled to start our trip from our small cottage on North Carolina's Outer Banks to the Greatest Minds of Our Youth Science Camp in New Jersey.

My aunt Amy planned to take Paige and me to a few battlefields and other historic sites along the way; we would make the trip to New Jersey into a vacation, she said. I had never been farther north than Pennsylvania, so the trip itself intrigued me.

Amy, Paige, and I stopped by the cemetery one last time for me to say goodbye to my parents. I walked past all the tombstones that bore names of my ancestors and others I would never know. I held a wild violet in my hand and bent down in front of my parent's grave.

I traced my fingers along their names and placed the violet on the ground. "I know you both would want me to do this, so I am going to try, for both of you. I'll miss you every day. I love you both so much."

I stood up and walked back to Amy and Paige who respectfully kept their distance. They each wrapped an arm around me and led me to the car. I was only twelve years old, but I felt like I was much older, given everything that had happened in the past year.

In the car, I watched the beach, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Albemarle and Currituck Sounds sweep past me. Everything I had known, loved, and seen for virtually every day of my life were rushing away from me. Soon we were crossing the Wright Memorial Bridge, headed to Virginia, and then, inevitably, to New Jersey.

And, unknown to me at that time, the first chapter of my future.

The reference to the title of the story has been given, did you all catch it? Let me know in the reviews if you did :). There is an additional reason behind the title, if you all have any guesses, you can include your predictions in the reviews, too!

I want to end by drawing your attention to the additional tags I included in this story: older man/ younger woman, age difference, and no underage relationship. When Zach and Violet meet (very soon), she will be 12 and he will be 17. I want to emphasize that while there is an age gap there will be NO romantic relationship between these two at this point in the story. They will only be friends, and Violet will develop deeper feelings for Zach over time. Until she is 18+, Zach WILL NOT reciprocate any romantic feelings, nor will they enter a relationship until Violet is over 18.

I hope you all enjoyed Chapter 2. Chapter 3 will be posted shortly.
