Hello all Storm here with a new story! Yep another new story with an interesting idea and Naruto having a familiar but slightly altered and changed background. So, without further ado.

I own nothing

'What a mess.' Thought Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Sandaime Hokage, while sighing as he sat in the Hokage's Office, which would soon be his office again.

Two days have passed since the Kyūbi Attack, where the Kyūbi no Yōko had suddenly just appeared in the middle of Konoha and began rampaging throughout the village. With many people having died from the fox's destruction, civilian and ninja alike. Until the arrival of the Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, who was able to get the Kyūbi away from the village. With everyone believing that Minato was able to defeat the Kyūbi at the cost of his own life.

'And that's what everyone should believe, for all our sakes.' Thought Sarutobi before looking to the side, where a crib had been set up, while within was a sleeping baby.

The baby being Naruto Uzumaki, son of Minato Namikaze and his wife Kushina Uzumaki. Along with him now being, as of two days ago, the third Jinchūriki of the Kyūbi no Yōko. Not that anyone aside from a select few were made aware of either of these facts.

Hiruzen being one of the few people that knew the truth, that the Kyūbi hadn't just randomly showed up. Instead, it had broken free from Kushina, who was its previous Jinchūriki. With a female Jinchūriki's seals weakening during childbirth, requiring extra security and protection to be put in place for when Kushina gave birth.

Only for it to not be enough as the Kyūbi managed to escape with the Sandaime having fought it off, along with the rest of the Ninja in Konoha. Managing to at least get it outside the village before Minato returned and teleported it away, with Hiruzen having gone with a team of Anbu to assist him. But when they arrived a barrier had been created, with Sarutobi recognizing it being made by Kushina's Adamantine Sealing Chains, with Minato, Kushina and their son inside with the Kyūbi.

All of them being helpless to watch as the Yondaime sealed the Kyūbi away into his son, with him and Kushina throwing themselves between the Kyūbi's claw and Naruto before the fox could kill him. The barrier dropping once the Kyūbi was sealed and they rushed inside to see if they could do something. Only to see that Minato was already dead, while Kushina was able to hang on long enough to tell the Sandaime, Naruto's name and beg him to protect her son before dying as well.

After that, Minato's and Kushina's bodies had been collected to be buried while Hiruzen had taken Naruto, intending to keep his Jinchūriki status a secret. Doubting that many in the village would take kindly to learning the beast that nearly destroyed their home and killed so many of their loved ones was now sealed inside a newborn baby. As well as wanting to ensure that Naruto would be able to have a normal life growing up, without the stigma of being known as a Jinchūriki.

With a memorial having been held for all those that died, before a meeting was held to decide who would become the next Hokage. Sarutobi having been willing to retake the position, both so the villagers would be at ease from having a known Hokage leading them through this difficult time. As well as to try and prevent his old rival/friend, Danzō Shimura, from nominating himself as Hokage.

Now the Sandaime was contemplating on what to do with Naruto, knowing that Minato and Kushina had named Jiraiya and Mikoto Uchiha as his godparents. But knowing his old student, Hiruzen doubted that Jiraiya would be willing to raise a child, especially with him also having his spy network to handle.

'And Mikoto can't take Naruto in either since as a Jinchūriki, he can't be seen as favoring one clan over the entire village. Suspicions are also starting to rise on if the Uchiha Clan was responsible for the attack.' Thought Hiruzen, given the only means of controlling a Bijū are the Mokuton and the Sharingan.

And the Uchiha Clan had been absent during the whole attack, something that even made the Sandaime wary on if they did have something to do with it. Which is why he agreed with the idea of moving the Uchiha Compound to the outskirts of the village, just in case.

'The best that can be done is placing Naruto in an orphanage.' Sarutobi thought, knowing it wasn't perfect, but it's the best he could do at the moment.

Especially since even fewer people knew who Naruto's parents were, which was something else he needed to keep secret, otherwise the boy would have their enemies to deal with as well. Plus the target from just being one of the few Uzumaki left in the world and the new Kyūbi Jinchūriki at that. Naruto would need to be seen only as another unfortunate orphan of the Kyūbi Attack.

Though Sarutobi was pulled from his thoughts, when the office door opened and Danzō walked in, with the Sandaime frowning when his eyes immediately fell on Naruto sleeping in his crib.

"So, this is the Kyūbi Jinchūriki." Danzō stated as he walked up and looked down at the infant.

"His name is Naruto Uzumaki, Danzō." Retorted Hiruzen, with the warhawk not reacting to this.

"He's a Jinchūriki, that's all that mattered the moment a Bijū is sealed inside one of them. That, and ensuring they are loyal to their village." Said Danzō.

"The answer is no, Danzō. You will not be taking Naruto to turn him into your personal attack dog." Hiruzen said, already knowing what he was thinking and planning to ask.

"The moment the fox was sealed inside him, he became a weapon for Konoha's use. I would merely be ensuring his complete and total loyalty to the village, all while wiping away any hints of treason." Danzō retorted.

"Or you could end up pushing him over the edge and make him bitter, angry and hateful that his only purpose in life is to be used by others, something that would only result in Konoha's destruction. And, as like you said Danzō, he's a Jinchūriki and they're known to be rather…violent under emotional distress." Stated Sarutobi, making Danzō frown in annoyance.

Their attention then turned to the door, when it opened again and in walked Mikoto Uchiha, who went right up to Naruto's crib.

"Mikoto? What are you doing here? I'm in the middle of a meeting." Sarutobi said, frowning at the interruption, while Mikoto smiled at Naruto before picking him up.

"Oh don't worry, I'm just here to pick up my godson. Thank you for looking after him these past few days Hokage-sama, but I'll be taking him home now." Replied Mikoto, making both elders frown at hearing this.

"I'm afraid you can't do that, Mikoto. Due to Naruto's status, he cannot be seen favoring a single clan, he would be required to put the safety of the entire village above all else." The Sandaime said, making the Uchiha raise a brow.

"And I'm afraid you can't stop me. I was made Naruto's legal guardian, should anything happen to his parents. So I am responsible for him, no matter what his status or position is." Mikoto stated.

"And how would we know you aren't just planning to use the Jinchūriki to finish what happened two days ago?" Retorted Danzō while looking at her with narrowed eyes, with Mikoto looking at him coldly as her Sharingan activated.

"Because, despite what you enjoy believing, no one in the Uchiha Clan was responsible. In fact, I recall you making sure the Uchiha Clan was kept away from the battlefield and the Kyūbi, so thank you for that alibi Danzō. And before either of you even think of saying anything, let me remind you that Naruto is my godson, Kushina and Minato both entrusted me to look after him. I have copies of all the files that they've signed, so you're more than welcomed to have a look, with them even having Minato's approval as Hokage. Officially stating that either myself or Jiraiya-sama are to be given custody of Naruto if he and Kushina were to unfortunately pass. Therefore, you both have no say in whether I take him or not, as that would be interfering in Clan Matters unless you can get Jiraiya-sama to return and prove himself as a capable guardian for Naruto. So, I'll be taking my godson home and you can't stop me." Mikoto stated before exiting the office while smiling at her godson, who had woken up, showing his blue eyes just like his father's.

While leaving both elders frowning at this, while Hiruzen narrowed his eyes at Danzō at what Mikoto first said, that he kept the Uchiha Clan away from the battlefield.

Knowing it was just one other thing he'll be looking into, and something told the Sandaime that list will only keep growing further over the years.

*With Mikoto*

Meanwhile, Mikoto had left the Hokage's Tower and made her way back to the Uchiha Compound, or what will soon be their former compound. Seeing as the rest of the clan was already working on getting ready to move the compound to the outskirts of the village. With none of them looking happy about having to move, being able to see through the excuse of it being a "necessary step" for Konoha's reconstruction. All of them knew that it was because they were already suspected of causing the attack.

'I doubt it'll help, having Naruto staying with us now.' Mikoto thought, frowning as she looked at her godson, who'd fallen back asleep

She knew that taking Naruto in would cause problems with Konoha's leadership, but the Uchiha matriarch also wasn't going to leave him alone as just some nameless orphan. Plus, Mikoto also wouldn't put it past Danzō to try something get Naruto under his control.

It wasn't long before she arrived back home, where she was greeted by her husband, Fugaku Uchiha, the Head of the Uchiha Clan and Leader of the Konoha Military Police Force. With Fugaku turning to face his wife before looking at the baby in her arms.

"Is that him?" Fugaku asked, having already known that Mikoto had gone to get her godson and adopt him into the Uchiha Clan, with the ravenette nodding with a smile.

"Yes, the Hokage and Danzō tried stopping me, but I made sure they knew they had no legal means of stopping me from taking Naruto in, and raising him." Replied Mikoto before noticing the frown on Fugaku's face.

"Everything will fine, they'll only be making problems for themselves if they try anything." Mikoto assured, making Fugaku sigh and drag a hand down his face.

"I wish I could share your optimism, but things are already tense with the rest of the village. The clan is already being regarded with suspicions and now we're being forced to move to the outskirts of Konoha. If they find out that the Kyūbi Jinchūriki has been taken in by us…" Said Fugaku, concerned about how tense things already were between the Uchiha Clan and the rest of Konoha, knowing it'd only get worse if Naruto was taken in by them.

While he didn't have any prejudice against Naruto for being the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki, the rest of the village certainly would if his status was exposed. Something that will make things even more difficult, knowing it won't be pretty, should the village learn that the Kyūbi Jinchūriki has been adopted by the Uchiha Clan. With it not helping that things between Konoha and the Uchiha Clan have always been strained ever since the time of the Nidaime Hokage.

Fugaku was worried that with the Kyūbi Attack and now the Kyūbi Jinchūriki living with the clan, it may push some people to do something drastic, which will turn lead to everything devolving into chaos. Even he was starting to grow tired of how the Uchiha Clan's has been treated, despite his best attempts to act as a mediator to maintain peace between them and the rest of the village. Especially now that he had to worry about the burden and stigma that Itachi and Sasuke would suffer from as well, just because of the clan they were born into.

With Mikoto frowning at his words, understanding where he's coming from, but also not liking it as she refused to leave her godson alone.

"I know it will be…difficult, should his status be exposed, but that also means that he should have a home and family to look out for him. The Hokage was actually planning to put him in an orphanage, leaving him alone with no one to take care of him. Which would only make his life harder if he was exposed as a Jinchūriki, as there wouldn't be anyone who'd protect him should the villagers try anything. Would you really be able to accept just leaving him alone?" Questioned Mikoto before going up to Fugaku and held Naruto out to him, with the Uchiha Clan Head reluctantly taking the baby from her.

Looking at Naruto, Fugaku's gaze softened a little at seeing the child, who had no idea about the burden he now carried or what it'd mean if it was exposed. Along with thinking of when Itachi and Sasuke were both born, and the expectations that'd be placed on them as well.

"What if it was Sasuke or Itachi? Wouldn't you want to know someone would take care of them, if anything happened to us? Kushina trusted me to look after her son if she and Minato died, and I'm not going to break her trust by letting Naruto grow up alone." Mikoto said, making Fugaku sigh before eventually nodding.

"Very well, he can stay and be raised here." Fugaku replied, knowing it's the least he can do for Mikoto, letting her raise her godson, especially after essentially stealing her future from her.

Given how they both been put into an arranged marriage due being two of the strongest Uchiha of their respective generations, the rest of the clan had been hoping that they would produce even stronger children. And while they weren't in love, they did care about each other and were close friends.

The matriarch smiling happily at this before taking Naruto back, with Fugaku needing to continue organizing the clan and Police Force to get ready to move. Before she looked back down at Naruto and kissed his forehead.

'Don't worry Naruto, you'll be safe and I'll make sure no one ever hurts you; I promise.' Mikoto thought, swearing she'll keep her godson safe, no matter what.

*Timeskip-Four Years*

Four years have passed since the Kyūbi Attack, with Naruto being taken in by Mikoto and was adopted into the Uchiha Clan. With things remaining tense between the Uchiha Clan and the rest of the village, though luckily hasn't escalated beyond a few squabbles. While Naruto had grown up happy with his adoptive family, with Fugaku eventually coming to also genuinely see him as a son, just as much as Sasuke and Itachi were.

And Mikoto made sure to keep her promise and gave her godson as much as love and care as she could, along with making sure he knew about the Uzumaki Clan, their traditions and specialty in Fūinjutsu. Though she hadn't told Naruto about his parents or being a Jinchūriki yet, wanting to wait until he was older before telling him.

Currently, Naruto was at one of the Uchiha Clan's Training Grounds, going over some beginner Fūinjutsu books that Mikoto. Wanting to be able to learn his birth clan's specialty as fast as possible as a means to honor them.

"What're you doing here?" Someone demanded, making Naruto look up from his book and saw Sasuke Uchiha, his adoptive brother, looking at him with narrowed eyes and frown.

"Hey Sasuke! I'm just reading some books that Kaa-san gave me!" Said Naruto with a grin, while Sasuke scowled at him.

"Then go somewhere else! This training ground is for Uchiha only!" Sasuke said, making the whiskered blonde lose his smile and frown at him.

"But…I am an Uchiha, Kaa-san said-" Naruto said, having been told by Mikoto that even if he was just adopted, he was as much an Uchiha as the rest of them.

"And stop calling her that! She's not your Kaa-san, she's mine! You're just an orphan she took pity on and brought home!" Yelled Sasuke, now glaring at Naruto, who got up and returned the glare.

"You can't tell me what to do! And she is my Kaa-san and she loves me! You're the jerk that doesn't want to be around her!" Retorted Naruto, with Sasuke growl and grab his collar.

"No, I don't want to be around you! No one else wants you around here, either! You're only a loser that acts like you belong, but you don't! So why don't you just leave!" Sasuke said, with Naruto grabbing his collar as well with both boys glaring at each other.

"It's my home just as much as yours! Unless you wanna try and beat me!" Naruto said tauntingly, only for the Uchiha to shout and tackle him to the ground.

"I don't need to try to beat a loser, like you!" Said Sasuke as he began punching Naruto, before the Uzumaki swung his arms and managed to hit him in the face, knocking Sasuke off of him before flipping them around.

"I could beat with my eyes closed!" Retorted Naruto while hitting Sasuke, only to cry out when he headbutted him.

"Try it loser!" Sasuke said before flipping them over again.

The two boys continued attacking and insulting each other as they rolled across the ground, each of them trying to gain an advantage over the other. Doing anything they could from punching, kicking, scratching, even biting each other, along with starting to fight dirty.

Before suddenly, the two found themselves grabbed by the backs of their shirts and lifted into the air, away from each other. Finding that they've been separated by an unamused Itachi, who looked at both his brothers and the state they were in.

"What do you two think you're doing?" Itachi asked, having gone to look for Naruto and Sasuke, wanting to take a moment to train with them after how busy he's been since becoming a Ninja, only to find them fighting each other.

"Ask him! He started it!" Sasuke said while pointing accusingly at Naruto, who glared at him.

"Liar! The jerk just showed up and started shouting at me, then he attacked me! I was defending myself!" Retorted Naruto as he pointed at Sasuke.

"You're the liar! I was coming here to train and then he showed up to attack me!" Said Sasuke, making the older Uchiha sigh before shaking his head.

"Since neither of you are willing to take responsibility, then I'll let Kaa-san decide what to do." Said Itachi, with Naruto's and Sasuke's eyes widening.

"Ah come on! He started it, though!" Naruto said while glaring at Sasuke, who returned the glare.

"You're the one who started it, by showing up!" Sasuke said.

"I was already at the training ground, you're the one who showed up and started it!" Naruto yelled.

"That's for Uchiha only!" Retorted Sasuke.

"You're for Uchiha only!" Said Naruto.

"That doesn't even make any sense!" Sasuke shouted in annoyance.

"Neither does your face!" Naruto said with a smirk, while Sasuke shouted and tried attacking him again, making the Uzumaki try attacking as well.

While Itachi could only sigh as he returned home, dragging both his brothers behind him, drawing more than a few looks as he walked through the compound. Luckily, it wasn't long before he made it home, with Mikoto coming out upon hearing the shouting. Before frowning when she saw Itachi holding Naruto and Sasuke by their collars, with both boys trying to attack the other, along with their current state.

"Naruto! Sasuke!" Mikoto said sternly, causing the two to freeze at her tone, with Itachi letting them go after seeing that they wouldn't try fighting again.

"I found them at one of the training grounds, Kaa-san. It looked like they were fighting for a while, before I showed up and separated them. They also wouldn't tell me what happened, so I brought them home, so you could find out what happened." Itachi said, getting betrayed looks from Naruto and Sasuke that he ratted them out, while the Uchiha matriarch sighed and nodded.

"Thank you, Itachi, you did the right thing. As for you two, living room, now!" Mikoto said to Naruto and Sasuke, leaving no room for arguing, with both boys heading to the living room with their heads lowered.

With Itachi taking his leave as Mikoto went into the living room, sitting down across from her youngest sons and crossed her arms.

"Now, both of you are going to tell me the truth about what happened and only the truth. If either of you try lying, then I'll send both of you two your rooms and you won't come out until you're ready to be honest. Understood." Mikoto said, with Naruto and Sasuke nodding nervously

"Good. So, what happened?" Mikoto asked, wanting to know what happened.

"I-I was j-just at a training ground, reading the Fūinjutsu books you gave me, when Sasuke showed up and tried getting me to leave. Saying I didn't belong and that I'm…not an Uchiha and that you're not my Kaa-san." Said Naruto, lowering his head, while Mikoto frowned and looked at Sasuke.

"Is this true, Sasuke?" Said Mikoto, with Sasuke grabbing his shorts tightly in his fists and nodded.

"Yes, but it's true! He's not an Uchiha, he doesn't belong here and he shouldn't be able to use our training grounds! But you…you still spend more time with him! Tou-san spends all his time with Itachi that he doesn't even have time to train me! And you're with him all the time, no matter what! And I'm…I'm just forgotten." Sasuke said bitterly and sadly, while looking away.

Having grown jealous that his mother spent so much time with Naruto, while his father spent all his time training and favoring Itachi, who's now also busy all the time after becoming a Ninja. Making Sasuke feel like he's just being forgotten, along with feeling bitter towards Naruto for having his mother's attention, for stealing her away from him.

With Mikoto's eyes widening at this, before frowning at not realizing that she's been spending so much time with Naruto that she hasn't really made time for Sasuke. Naruto was also surprised at this, since he hadn't really noticed that Mikoto spent so much time with him and assumed she did the same with Sasuke and Itachi. Making him feel bad that it does look like he's taking all of her attention away from them.

Before the Uchiha matriarch sighed and got up to sit between Naruto and Sasuke, wrapping her arms around them.

"I'm sorry Sasuke, I really didn't mean to make you feel like you were forgotten. From now on, whenever you want to spend time with me, I promise that we'll do whatever you want, whenever you want." Assured Mikoto, making Sasuke look up at her.

"You promise?" Sasuke asked, with Mikoto smiling and nodding at him.

"I promise. As long as you promise that whenever you have a problem, you talk to me or your Tou-san about it, not start fights." Mikoto said, with the younger Uchiha nodding in response.

"K-Kaa…Kaa-san, why…why do you spend so much time with me? And…why did you adopt me?" Naruto asked hesitantly while looking up at the woman, making Mikoto and Sasuke look at him before the latter looked up at her as well.

"That…that's because…I'm actually your godmother, Naruto. I knew your birth mother and we were really close friends, close enough that she wanted me to be your godmother and take care of you, if something ever happened to her and your birth father." Revealed Mikoto, figuring that she could at least tell them this, with both boys being shocked at this.

"You…you knew my birth parents?" Said Naruto, not expecting that, with Mikoto nodding in response.

"I did, your Kaa-san and I were actually best friend alongside Hitomi Hyūga, while your Tou-san and I were on the same Genin Team with Teuchi-san, under Jiraiya-sama. And I knew that she'd want to give you all the love and attention she could, never letting you go a moment without knowing how much she cared about you. It's why I give you so much attention, knowing it's what she would've wanted. And I'm sure you want to know who they are, but I can't tell you Naruto, not yet anyway. But I will one day, I promise." Mikoto said, making Naruto frown but nod in understanding.

"If you're his godmother, does that mean even if he wasn't adopted, he'd still be mine and Nii-sans brother?" Questions Sasuke, with Mikoto smiling at him and nodded in response.

"That's right Sasuke, me and Naruto's Kaa-san even hoped that you both would grow up to be great friends just like we were. But now that you two are brothers, that means you also have to look out for each other. Especially you Sasuke, since you're the older brother." Replied Mikoto.

"What?! But we're the same age!" Naruto said in annoyance, which grew as Sasuke smirked at him.

"Maybe, but Sasuke was born a few months earlier than you Naruto, so that does make him older." Mikoto said in amusement, making Naruto grumble in annoyance.

"Now then, I hope this helps you both understand why I give Naruto so much attention and that I'll make sure to spend more time with you Sasuke. So, no more fighting, alright?" Mikoto said while looking between them, with both boys nodding.

"I promise Kaa-san." Replied Naruto.

"I promise too, no more fighting." Sasuke said as well, making Mikoto nod before standing up.

"Great! Now both of you, go to your rooms." Mikoto said sternly, much to their shock.

"But we told the truth! And we promised no more fighting!" Said Sasuke, wondering why they were still be sent to their rooms.

"Yes, you did, but you still got into a fight and need to be punished, I think two weeks is a good amount of time. You can even see it as a chance to start bonding as brothers. So, to your rooms now, or do you want it to be four weeks." Mikoto replied with a raised brow, causing Naruto and Sasuke to immediately rush up to their rooms.

The sight making Mikoto smirk, pleased that she can get her sons to obey her without question.

*Timeskip-Two Year*

Mikoto had made sure to keep her promise and started spending more time with Sasuke, something that made the boy happy to spend time with his mother. With him having also taken her words to heart to actually start treating Naruto as part of the family and a brother. Along with taking his role as the middle child very seriously, seeing it as his responsibility to be the big brother when Itachi wasn't around.

Leading to Naruto and Sasuke spending more time together, as well as training together, the latter wanting to help the whiskered blonde fit in more with the Uchiha Clan. Something that Naruto was happy about, though still got annoyed whenever Sasuke would bring up the fact he was older, which he did all the time.

The two had also begun training with Itachi whenever he was around, which wasn't much after he was promoted to Chūnin and then joined Anbu by the time he was eleven. But they also trained with Shisui and Izumi, when either were available as well. With Shisui already being a Jōnin and Izumi having already graduated from the Academy a year early. Though Naruto and Sasuke were always happy whenever they could train with them.

However things seemed to change a year ago, as without warning the rest of the village began avoiding Naruto, looking at him hatefully or in fear, as well isolating the Uchiha Clan even more. With some of the Uchiha Clan now avoid the young Uzumaki as well or simply glaring at him. Something that hurt and confused Naruto at why everyone seemed to suddenly start hating or avoiding him. Having tried asking his adoptive parents if they knew anything, only for them to be silent about the issue, along with Itachi, Shisui and Izumi.

Though it soon came time for Naruto and Sasuke to enter the Academy together, with Naruto also hoping for the chance to make friends with the other students. Having tried spending time with other kids before, only for their parents to suddenly pull them away. Making it so the only other kid he could be around and play with was Sasuke as well as a few kids from the Uchiha Clan, whose parents allowed them to still play with him. With this also leading to Sasuke becoming more protective of his adoptive brother, with how everyone seemed to be treating him.

At the moment, Mikoto was preparing dinner for when her husband and sons came home, though the matriarch had a frown on her face. Worried and concerned about Naruto and Sasuke now attending the Academy, meaning that they'll be outside the compound more often. With Mikoto being worried at the chance of the villagers trying something, now that Naruto's Jinchūriki status had been exposed.

'That warhawk should've been killed years ago.' Mikoto thought in anger, knowing that Danzō was the one who leaked Naruto's status to the rest of the village.

Something that's only worsened things between Konoha and the Uchiha Clan, many in the village believing that they were planning on unleashing the Kyūbi or using Naruto as a weapon. With even some members of the clan have begun hating Naruto, blaming him for the worsening relations between them and the village. With Mikoto being thankful Fugaku was doing a better job at damage control than the Hokage seemed to be doing with the rest of the village.

'At this rate, everyone will be supporting the coup.' Mikoto thought sadly, knowing many members of the clan had become dissatisfied with their treatment and wanted to overthrow Konoha's leadership to take control themselves.

With this new development only strengthening that desire, with some even suggesting that Naruto should either be banished from the Uchiha Clan or used as a weapon. Only for them to be dealt with by Fugaku, who wouldn't hear anything about banishing Naruto or using him as a weapon. But that didn't mean there still weren't those who didn't like the Uzumaki, they just haven't acted on those feelings.

Which is what Mikoto is worried about with Naruto and Sasuke being out in the village more often, not doubting that the rest of Konoha won't have any reservations about trying something. Though so far, all they've done is avoid Naruto and glare at him, but she was still worried something will happen.

Though Mikoto was pulled from her thoughts when she heard the door open and sensed Naruto and Sasuke, much to her relief as she went to greet them. But the moment she exited the kitchen and saw her sons, the Uchiha matriarch gasped in shock and horror as she was barely able to suppress a scream at the sight before her. As Naruto and Sasuke could be seen leaning on each other, with the former having a slowly healing cut across his forehead and the latter was covered in bruises and dirt, along with his clothes having some tears in them.

"K-Kaa-san." Naruto said with tears falling from his eyes while Sasuke looked up, showing he also had a black eye, much to Mikoto's horror as she rushed over to them.

*Later*

After taking Sasuke to his room to treat his injuries, Mikoto left him to rest and recover before going to speak with Naruto. Finding her adoptive son/godson in his room with his face buried in his knees, the ravenette noticing the cut over his eyes was now fully healed before sitting down next to him.

"What happened?" Mikoto asked, looking at Naruto, wanting to know what happened.

"We…we were at the Academy and decided to stay after to train some more, Sasuke was practicing with kunai and shuriken, while I was practicing Fūinjutsu. We were almost done when…when some older students suddenly came over, they took the scrolls I was working on and ripped them up before they began pushing me around and insulting me. I tried fighting back only for one of them to throw a rock at me, which is how I had that cut, that's when Sasuke came over and tried getting them to leave. But…but they didn't, they tried attacking both of us but Sasuke…he stopped them and made them attack him instead. He was able to beat them but not without getting hurt as well. Then I…I got us back here before more people could show up or else someone would think we started the fight." Explained Naruto, with Mikoto slowly clenching her fists tightly, angered that her sons had been attacked.

"How…how did they insult you?" Questioned Mikoto, her anger only growing when Naruto flinched.

"They…they called me things like…like freak and monster, that I didn't belong, and that no one wants me around." Naruto replied, the ravenette unclenched her fists before wrapping an arm around him and pulled Naruto close.

"Ignore them and anyone else who says anything like that. You're not a freak or a monster, and you do have people that want you around. Anyone that says otherwise aren't worth your time and should just be ignored." Mikoto said, swearing to find the kids who attacked her sons and who their parents are, before making sure they didn't go anywhere near Naruto or Sasuke again.

"Why? Why does everyone hate me? Did I do something bad?" Naruto asked while looking up at Mikoto pleadingly, wanting to know why everyone seemed to suddenly start hating.

"No! No, no, no. You didn't do anything Naruto, everyone is just…" Said Mikoto, trying to find the right words as she'd really hoped to wait until Naruto was at least a Genin before telling him about the Kyūbi and his parents.

Regardless of what the Sandaime wished, Mikoto wasn't going to keep Naruto in the dark about his parents and being a Jinchūriki, as he deserved to know the truth. But she'd hoped it wouldn't be this soon and while in a far more emotionally stable state as well.

"Just what?" Questioned Naruto, wanting to know what made everyone start hating him, with Mikoto sighing before looking at him seriously.

"Naruto, what I'm going to say can't leave this room. No matter what happens or who it is, you cannot tell anyone what I'm about to tell you, alright." Mikoto said, knowing how bad it'd be if anyone found out Naruto knew this, with the whiskered blonde being surprised at her tone, but nodded in response.

"Alright, I promise, I won't tell anyone, no matter what." Naruto replied, making Mikoto nod as well.

"Okay, it started the day you were born…" Said Mikoto before she began telling Naruto about the Kyūbi Attack and the truth of what happened, that the Yondaime didn't just defeat it but he sealed it away that night, into Naruto himself.

Before going on to tell him about his parents as well, everything she knew about Kushina and Minato, especially about how much they loved him even before he was born. With Naruto listening in shock, sadness and disbelief that he was the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki while his parents were the Yellow Flash and Red Death.

"That's why everyone hates you, because they only see you as a reminder of that night, some may even see you as just the fox itself rather than its container. But make no mistake, you are just its container Naruto, no matter what anyone else claims or believes. If someone tells you that you're the Kyūbi, that only shows how naïve and foolish they are. And no matter what your parents loved you, they were willing to die for you, Kushina would have even clawed her way back here if she knew you weren't being taken care of." Mikoto said while holding Naruto close, with the Uzumaki looking down.

"And the Hokage, he knew?" Naruto asked, with Mikoto nodding in response.

"Yes, he did. He would have preferred not telling you until you were much older and he believes you were "mature" enough to handle the knowledge. Which is why you can't tell anyone, since he won't like it if you knew the truth already. Along with the fact that your parents made a lot of enemies both in and out of the village. Enemies that would come after you if they learned you were their son, either out of spite or to use you." Said Mikoto, making Naruto nod in understanding, knowing how important it was to keep it a secret.

But at the same time, Naruto felt that his faith in the village was shaken by this knowledge. Knowing that if he'd never been taken in by the Uchiha Clan, if the Hokage had somehow found a means to keep Mikoto from adopting him, then he could have lived his entire life never knowing why he was hated or who his parents were. The Hokage wouldn't have told him and clearly, someone in Konoha's higher-ups is responsible telling everyone he's the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki.

"Could you…tell me about them? My birth parents?" Naruto asked looking at Mikoto hopefully, wanting to know more about his birth parents, with Mikoto nodding and smiling at him before she began telling him about Kushina and Minato.

*Timeskip-Two Years*

Two years have passed, since Naruto learned about his Jinchūriki status and who his birth parents were, with his faith in the village having been shaken after learning this. Something that lead Naruto to stop trying to make friends with other children or interact with anyone from the Academy. Only interacting with Sasuke and a few others, who were more along the lines of acquaintances than friends.

Naruto and Sasuke had also continued training, which had developed more competitively with both boys trying to outdo the other, pushing each other to get stronger. Along with still training under Itachi, Shisui, and Izumi whenever they could, more so the latter two. As one thing they've noticed is how strained Itachi's relationship with the rest of the Uchiha Clan has become. Seeing how Itachi's become more closed off and distant, even more so than usual.

With it getting even worse after Shisui's death, something which had hurt Naruto the most, given how outside of his adoptive family, Shisui was one of the Uchiha he bonded with the most. Finding it easy to be around Shisui and train with him, while even learning the Shunshin from the Uchiha and essentially becoming his protégé. Leaving Naruto hurt when he learned Shisui had died, seemingly drowning himself in the Naka River after destroying his eyes.

Though many in the clan believed that Itachi had been the one to kill him, leading to a confrontation between him and three other Uchiha, only stopping when Fugaku intervened. But the damage had been done and Itachi kept growing more and more distant.

This did lead to Fugaku paying more attention to Naruto and Sasuke, the Clan Head now taking part in training both of them, something that made them both happy. Especially when he taught them the Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu. The signature Jutsu of the Uchiha Clan and seen as a rite passage for all Uchiha, that by being able to perform it they were considered true adults.

Only for neither Naruto or Sasuke to be able to perform it at first, with Sasuke at least managing to create a tiny fireball. While Naruto only succeeded in making a small stream of flames that quickly went out. Something that saddened them when they saw Fugaku looked disappointed that neither of them succeeded in performing it.

Though it didn't keep either down as Naruto and Sasuke kept practicing the Jutsu dozens of times every day and night for a week. Not stopping when it rained or how exhausted they got, until Sasuke had managed to finally create a large fireball. While Naruto needed some more time before he could perform it, with some help and tips from Sasuke.

Leading to them bringing Fugaku down to the lake to watch them perform it, wanting to show him how far they've managed to come in learning the Jutsu.

With all three of them now standing at the end of the dock where they practiced the Grand Fireball, with Sasuke stepping forward to go first. The younger Uchiha taking a deep breath before going through handsigns, knowing he couldn't fail this time.

"Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke said before expelling a massive fireball from his mouth out towards the lake, affecting the water as it began steaming below the fireball.

Naruto grinned at seeing his adoptive brother's fireball, while Fugaku's eyes widened slightly at seeing the size of the fireball and how long Sasuke was using it. Before soon Sasuke stopped the Jutsu, revealing a ring of steam rising from the lake, smiling slightly at his success.

"It's your turn, Naruto." Sasuke said, stepping aside to let Naruto show off his own Jutsu, with the Uzumaki nodding before stepping forward.

'Please work this time.' Thought Naruto, hoping it'll work this time as he went through handsigns.

"Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Said Naruto leaning back before throwing his head forward, releasing a large fireball from his mouth, not as large as the one Sasuke made but still much bigger than one would expect.

With Fugaku being surprised again that both of them had managed to master the Grand Fireball Jutsu in such a short amount of time. With Naruto also managing to maintain his longer than Sasuke's due to his larger Chakra Reserves. Before the Jinchūriki stopped as well, with him and Sasuke turning to look at Fugaku, hoping he was impressed that they were able to successfully use the Jutsu.

Only to look down when Fugaku turned and began walking away, not saying anything, making the two think that they still weren't good enough.

"Well done my sons." Fugaku stated, making Naruto and Sasuke look up in surprise.

"You've both done well. Work hard and you're both bound to soar high. And to bring honor to that crest you wear on your back, Sasuke." Said Fugaku, surprising them again before they smiled, though Naruto's dimmed slightly but understood, since they were still currently unsure on if he would remain in the Uchiha Clan or would eventually see about restarting the Uzumaki Clan, once he was older.

"I will!" Sasuke replied, happy at managing to impress their father and swore to keep training hard to honor their clan.

"And Naruto, even you don't share the same blood, you're as much an Uchiha as Sasuke and I are, continue as you are and you'll still bring honor to the clan. Regardless of whether you decide to remain with us or eventually set out to rebuild the Uzumaki Clan." Fugaku added, making Naruto look up before he smiled happily.

"I'm going to! I won't ever stop training and doing my best!" Said Naruto, still having his insecurities about being adopted, so it always meant the world to him whenever his adoptive parents acknowledged him as their son.

Especially Fugaku as Mikoto made it no secret that she considered him her son, just as much as Sasuke and Itachi.

"From now on, both of you will walk your own paths. Not in the footsteps of your brother." Said Fugaku while looking back at them, surprising them again before he returned to the compound, with Naruto and Sasuke running to catch up.

*Timeskip-One Month*

Naruto and Sasuke ran down the street back to the Uchiha Compound, knowing they needed to get home soon with how late it already is. Having decided to stay at the Academy to get some more training done, only to end up staying longer than expected as it was already the middle of the night by the time they left.

Before the two suddenly stopped and looked up in surprise at a powerline, only to see nothing out of the ordinary.

"Naruto, did…did you see someone just now?" Sasuke asked, looking at the Uzumaki, swearing he just saw someone on top of the pole, with Naruto slowly shaking his head.

"N-no, I…I thought I saw something, but…there isn't anyone." Replied Naruto, feeling a little worried that someone could have been watching them, before their eyes widened as they looked around, noticing just how dark the street and buildings were.

"The lights, there aren't any lights. Everyone can't be asleep already." Muttered Sasuke, knowing that not everyone would be asleep by now.

"Come on, let's get home now." Naruto said urgently, with Sasuke nodding in agreement as they started running back home, hoping to find out what's happening.

Though the moment they rounded a corner, both boys stopped in shock and horror when they saw bodies lining the streets and blood splattered everywhere, along with kunai and shuriken pinned into walls.

"Wh-what? Wh-wh-what h-ha-h-happened he-h-he-he-here?" Sasuke stuttered, looking around in horror at seeing their clansmen lying dead on the ground.

"I-is…i-i-is th-th-this a-a-an-an a-at-at-att-attack o-o-on th-th-the vi-vi-vi-vill-village?" Naruto asked shakily at seeing so many dead bodies, before Sasuke's eyes widened in fear at what could have happened to their parents.

"Tou-san! Kaa-san! We need to go now, come on!" Said Sasuke before motioning Naruto to follow him, not wanting them to split up in case whoever did this was still around.

Nodding, Naruto and Sasuke rushed back to their home, finding it completely dark as well, much to their growing worry and fear. Running inside, the two began searching for any sign of them, only to find the house was completely empty.

"Did you find anything?" Naruto asked after they searched the house, with Sasuke shaking his head in worry only for them to tense when they heard something hitting the ground, realizing it came from their parents room.

Running outside the two headed for their parents room, only to stop just outside, getting an uneasy and foreboding feeling.

"Somebody…somebody's in here." Sasuke said, feeling and knowing that someone was inside, and he was terrified of finding out who it was.

"Let's go in together, we have to see who's inside." Said Naruto, the Uchiha gritting his teeth and nodded, knowing they needed to go inside.

"Right, just stay behind me, we don't know who it could be." Said Sasuke, trying to act brave even though he's scared of whoever did this, with Naruto nodding before they grabbed the doors and opened them up.

"Tou-san! Kaa-san!" Sasuke shouted as they rushed in, only to stop in horror at seeing their parents lying dead on the ground.

"N-n-no-no…th-th-the-the-they're…" Stuttered Naruto, looking at his adoptive parents bodies in horror, not believing they're dead as well.

Only for them to then see someone walking out of the darkness, making them back away in fear at seeing the person responsible is still here. Terrifying Naruto and Sasuke, that they may end up dying as well, before they saw the person was actually Itachi.

"Nii-san? Itachi?! Tou-san and Kaa-san are both…who could do all this?!" Sasuke said, only to stop when two shuriken suddenly flew past him and Naruto, the two grunting as matching cuts appeared on their shoulders.

"Itachi?! What're you-" Said Naruto, looking at Itachi, stopping as they finally saw the cold, dark look in Itachi's eyes as he looked at them, seeing none of the usual affection or kindness

It made Naruto's eyes widened as he saw they weren't looking at their kind and caring big brother…they were looking at a killer. Something Sasuke realized as well, as he looked at Itachi in horror, not wanting to say it but knew they were looking at the person who did this.

"What've you done?!" Said Sasuke in horror, mentally begging there was a reason behind this.

"My foolish little brothers. I almost pity you." Itachi stated coldly before closing his eyes, making Sasuke's eyes widened before he pushed Naruto back.

"RUN!" Sasuke shouted, pushing Naruto out the door, both boys running as fast as they could away from Itachi.

"What should we do?!" Said Naruto in fear, not believing Itachi did this, wondering if he actually had killed Shisui if he's willing to kill everyone else, even their own parents.

"Just keep running! Split up and go different ways, just get out of here!" Said Sasuke, wanting to make sure Naruto got away while he tried to keep Itachi focused on him.

Not liking it, but knowing they needed to get away to try and find someone, anyone, that could help them, Naruto reluctantly nodded before he and Sasuke ran off in different directions. The Uzumaki's eyes widening as he saw that he was running towards the Police Force headquarters.

'There has to be someone still alive, there!' Naruto thought, running towards the building, hoping to still find someone alive that could go after Itachi or get help.

But when Naruto reached the building, he only saw several bodies lying on the ground outside along with broken and bloodstained windows, showing that everyone inside was dead as well.

'He…he already killed everyone here too?!' Thought Naruto, horrified that Itachi could have already killed everyone, before his fear grew when he saw another body lying at the bottom of the steps, one he recognized.

"Izumi!" Naruto shouted while running up to Izumi, finding a stab wound in her back and chest, one that seemed dangerously close to where her heart is.

"Please don't be dead, please don't be dead, please don't be dead!" Naruto said repeatedly, not wanting Izumi to be dead along with his adoptive parents and Shisui, tensing when he touched her shoulder, causing the brunette to cough up blood, making him feel hope that she's still alive.

"N-Na-Nar-" Izumi stuttered as she weakly opened her eyes, not expecting to still be alive after that Masked Man stabbed her, only to hear Naruto's voice.

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm here, just please hang on!" Naruto said before pulling out a Storage Scroll and unsealed some bandages, having kept it just in case the villagers or more older students tried anything.

"Y-yo-yo-yo-you…r-ru-ru-run-run…n-n-no-no-no-no-n-not…sa-s-s-sa-sa-saf-safe…" Said Izumi, wanting Naruto to get out of here in case the Masked Man was still around.

"I know, me and Sasuke saw! Just please stop talking and save your strength, please!" Naruto said desperately, not wanting her to really die.

Before the Uzumaki grabbed a kunai and cut open Izumi's shirt to wrap the bandages tightly around her stab wound to try and prevent any more blood loss. Doing the best he could before Naruto began flaring his Chakra to try and alert someone. Remembering when they learned how to do so in the Academy and how he nearly sent the entire village into a panic when he flared his, given his massive Chakra Reserves and poor Chakra Control back then. Before Itachi, Shisui and Izumi taught him and Sasuke a few Chakra Control Exercises to try and help him gain better control.

But now Naruto was flaring as much of his Chakra as he could. With how far they were from the rest of the village, he needed to make sure it was felt by someone in the village.

Panting after flaring his Chakra several times, hoping it would be felt, Naruto looked at Izumi, his panic and fear growing when she closed her eyes, but could still she was faintly breathing.

'Please don't die! Just hang on a little longer, please!' Naruto mentally pleaded as he was about to flare his Chakra again, before his eyes widened when he heard a sudden scream, recognizing that it came from Sasuke.

Looking at Izumi, hoping she'd stay alive until help arrived, Naruto ran off towards where the scream came from. Also hoping that Sasuke hadn't been found by Itachi and only screamed to try alert someone.

Though when he turned a corner, Naruto froze when he saw Itachi kneeling down in front of Sasuke, who was lying on the ground unmoving and unconscious. Before feeling horror, grief, anger and betrayal when he heard Itachi speak.

"I just killed my own brother." Muttered Itachi, causing Naruto's eyes to widen at hearing that Itachi hasn't just killed everyone else, but he's killed Sasuke now as well.

"Itachi!" Naruto shouted in anger, jumping at Itachi while pulling out two handfuls of kunai and shuriken before throwing them at the Uchiha.

*Earlier-With Sasuke*

Sasuke kept running after he and Naruto split up, feeling choked up and terrified as tears fell from his eyes at what Itachi's done and now that he may kill him and Naruto. But he gasped in fear the moment he turned a corner, only to find Itachi already standing across from him, not expecting him to move that fast.

"Did you really think you could escape? Foolish little brother." Itachi said coldly as Sasuke backed away in fear.

"Wh-why? Itachi why? Why did you do this?!" Said Sasuke, wanting to know why Itachi killed everyone, and hoping to stall him long enough for Naruto to get help.

"To test the limit of my abilities." Stated Itachi, making Sasuke's eyes widened at what he said.

"To test your…abilities? That's why you did this?" Sasuke asked, horrified that the reason Itachi killed everyone was just to test his abilities.

"You're telling me…that's why you butchered them?!" Demanded Sasuke, not believing he would be willing to kill everyone in their clan, even their parents, just to test his abilities.

"It is of great importance." Itachi muttered closing his eyes before opening them, revealing his Sharingan only it was changed, with it now being three spiraling curves around the pupil, the younger Uchiha's eyes widening at the sight.

"Itachi why?! This isn't like you! You wouldn't do this!" Sasuke shouted, shaking his head, still in a state of denial and not wanting to believe that Itachi would willingly do this.

"I have acted like the older brother you desire for one reason, because I wanted to discover how powerful you were. I needed to find a worthy opponent to test the limit of my own ability, you have that unique potential. Now I've made you hate me, now you have the desire to defeat me, which exactly why I'm going to allow you to live. Don't you see, it's all for my own benefit. Like me, you may be one of the few who can master the Mangekyō Sharingan." Said Itachi.

"Wh-what? And what about Naruto?! Are you going to kill him?! Because I won't let you!" Yelled Sasuke, refusing to let Itachi take away the last family he had left.

"No, killing him would not benefit me, but it will benefit you. To gain the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan, you must…kill your best friend. Kill him, just like I did mine." Itachi revealed, much to Sasuke's shock and horror.

"You're saying…that was you? You killed…Shisui?" Sasuke said, not believing Itachi really killed Shisui like everyone believed.

"I did. How else did you think I obtained these powers? Now it will be your turn, you will kill your best friend, obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan, and only then when our eyes are the same will you come before me." Said Itachi, making the younger Uchiha clench his fists in anger.

"The only one I'll kill…is you!" Shouted Sasuke, charging at Itachi with his fist pulled back, only to double over in pain when Itachi buried his fist in his stomach before he fell to the ground.

"Foolish little brother. You don't have nearly enough hate to stand a chance against, let alone with your pitiful eyes." Said Itachi coldly, only to tense when he felt a sudden pulse of Chakra, followed by another and another, his eyes widening as he recognized Naruto's Chakra, with Sasuke feeling it as well.

"You…you felt it…didn't you? Naruto…he must have found someone…it looks like you were sloppy or…or arrogant enough to believe whoever he's found…would be dead by…by the time help…arrives…and soon…the Hokage will be here…you won't…you won't get away…Itachi." Sasuke said, relieved that someone was still alive and now Naruto had hopefully alerted the rest of the village, while Itachi schooled his features.

"He only delayed the inevitable, though thankfully for you, I now have some loose ends to tie up. But don't worry, I still won't kill him, I'll wait until you do it yourself." Itachi said before he moved to locate whoever Naruto has managed to somehow find and save to finish them off.

"I already…said…I'm only…killing you!" Sasuke yelled, his eyes now red with a single tomoe in them as he managed to stand up and throw several kunai at Itachi, who drew his sword and deflected the projectiles before Sasuke went through handsigns.

"Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Said Sasuke breathing out a massive fireball, the sight surprising Itachi, not expecting his brother to already have such mastery over the Jutsu, before going through handsigns as well.

"Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Itachi said, expelling his own fireball, one much larger than Sasuke's and soon overpowered it with his own.

With Sasuke gasping when Itachi appeared in front of him and grabbed him by his collar.

"Allow me to show you why you'll never be able to match my power. Tsukuyomi!" Said Itachi, locking eyes with Sasuke and trapping him within his Genjutsu.

*Tsukuyomi World*

Sasuke looked around in confusion and fear as everything was suddenly black and white with the sky being blood red. Before he screamed in horror when he suddenly saw Itachi start killing everyone in the compound.

"NO! No, make it stop, please! Itachi, please don't do this, don't make me watch!" Sasuke screamed, trying to close his eyes, but couldn't as they stayed open.

His horror growing the more he watched Itachi kill everyone, screaming in completely agony and pain when he was forced to watch him kill their parents. Though it grew even worse when it seemed to start all over, with Itachi killing everyone again and again, over and over, forcing Sasuke to watch the entire time. With Sasuke soon seeing something else get added to the loop, himself standing over a dead Naruto, carrying a bloody kunai.

With Sasuke being unable to do anything, unable to close his eyes and wherever he looked he only saw more people dying, ending with his parents every time, himself killing his younger brother as the entire thing repeated. The younger Uchiha grabbing his head and screaming until he soon collapsed to the ground.

*Real World*

Itachi's eyes suddenly widened when his Tsukuyomi ended prematurely, releasing a screaming Sasuke only for him to fall to the ground. The older Uchiha grunting and brought a hand up to his eyes as he stumbled back at the sudden backlash, before shaking his head and blinking a few times.

'What…what just happened? Did my Tsukuyomi fail?' Thought Itachi, knowing he hadn't ended the Genjutsu, it just suddenly stopped.

Before he looked at his brother lying on the ground, horrified when he didn't seem to moving or breathing for that matter, along with having gone completely silent.

"S-Sa-Sasuke?" Said Itachi, shakily going over to his brother, grabbing his shoulder and turning him over, only for his horror grow upon seeing the blank, empty look in his eyes.

"Sasuke? Sasuke?! SASUKE?!" Itachi said desperately, using his limited Medical Ninjutsu to make sure he's alright, only to find there was no activity in his brain.

'No…no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!' Thought Itachi in horror at realizing what happened and what he'd just done to Sasuke.

"I just killed my own bother." Itachi muttered, seeing that his Tsukuyomi had left Sasuke braindead.

The Uchiha soon crying in anger, sadness, grief and self-loathing, not believing he had just killed his own brother.

'It wasn't supposed to be like this!' Itachi thought before tensing as he suddenly felt killing intent being directed at him.

"Itachi!" Someone shouted, along with the sound of kunai cutting through the air.

Feeling his battle instincts kick in and take over, Itachi turned and swung his sword, knocking the kunai away while feeling one cut across his forehead protector. Not even looking at his attacker before slashing his blade at them to take them out quickly.

Only for him to be further horrified when he saw Naruto hit the ground, coughing and gagging with one slash going right through his eyes and another going from his shoulder to his hip. Itachi realizing that Naruto must've heard Sasuke's scream and came to find him, only find him standing over Sasuke, likely hearing what he said and attacked.

'No, no, no, no, no, NO!' Thought Itachi in horror and panic at what he's just done, not believing he's now potentially killed both of his brothers.

'Why…why did this happen?! Why did I have to take Danzō's deal?!' Itachi thought, blaming himself for taking Danzō's deal, when he should have gone to the Sandaime or his father about it, all of this could have been prevented.

Instead, he might as well have let Danzō kill everyone, only to save the warhawk the trouble and do it himself, killing his entire clan and family, including the two people he did everything to protect!

Knowing there's nothing he can do anymore, Itachi could only leave before the Hokage showed up from feeling Naruto's Chakra pulses. Where he was soon greeted by the Masked Man, or "Madara" as he believed him to be. And despite wearing a mask, Itachi could tell he wasn't amused or happy at what just happened.

"The only reason I'm not killing you right now for potentially killing the Kyūbi Jinchūriki is because we have an alternative means to gaining the Kyūbi's Chakra, should the boy not survive. Consider yourself lucky that I'm so forgiving, Itachi." Said "Madara", annoyed at what he did to the Kyūbi Jinchūriki, but knew they had an alternate means to get the Kyūbi's Chakra, should Naruto die.

"Let's just go." Itachi muttered in a defeated, empty and resigned tone.

*Later*

Hiruzen looked around with a deep frown on his face as the Anbu went around, collecting the bodies of the deceased Uchiha as well as Naruto and Sasuke. Thankful that Naruto was still alive, unfortunately his eyes were beyond saving and he'd already lost a lot of blood that it's a miracle he is still alive. Before he turned towards Danzō, narrowing his eyes at his former friend.

"This is the last time, Danzō. As of this moment, The Foundation is to be disbanded for good while you will be watched from now. And this will be your final warning, if you set so much as a toe out of line, it will result in your permanent end. Understood." Sarutobi said, wanting nothing more than to kill Danzō where he stood for what his actions have caused, but didn't want to add another body to the growing pile.

"Crystal, Hiruzen." Replied Danzō, knowing if he hadn't used Kotoamatsukami then his old rival would have very likely killed him, already.

With the warhawk being annoyed and apathetic at Naruto's condition, annoyed at Itachi for nearly robbing Konoka of its weapon. Though he didn't truly care about his condition and the chances he may die, especially since they can always get a new weapon if they play their cards right. Especially with how the means that the Yondaime sealed the Kyūbi in the weapon had ensured that no one else would be able to captured and seal the fox, should the boy not make it. With that not counting how they would need someone with a strong enough body and chakra to handling having the fox sealed into them, in the first place.

'One that I'll make sure is loyal to me and me alone.' Thought Danzō, knowing if they lost the Kyūbi, he'll make sure the next weapon is trained and conditioned properly.

"Hokage-sama! We managed to find a survivor, she looks to have received some treatment beforehand, enough to keep her alive long enough for us to arrive." Said an Anbu, appearing beside the Hokage, making Sarutobi and Danzō look at them, the latter being further annoyed that an Uchiha is still alive.

"Get them to the hospital, now! And ensure they're guarded and watched closely!" Ordered Hiruzen while narrowing his eyes at Danzō, silently warning him to not try anything, making the warhawk grit his teeth but reluctantly nod, knowing he can't push his luck with Kotoamatsukami recharging.

"Hai Hokage-sama!" The Anbu replied before Shunshining away to get Izumi to the hospital for immediate treatment.

Leaving Danzō by himself, before his attention turned to one of his Root ANBU as they spoke up, only to see a pair of Sharingan eyes staring back at him.

"Know this Danzō, should Naruto and the person he's saved survive, you better not do anything against them. Should I learn that anything has happened to them and you were responsible, every secret and dirty deed that Konoha's committed will be released to every unallied nation." Itachi said before disappearing in swirl of crows, revealing to be a Crow Clone, leaving behind an angry and fuming Warhawk.

*Later-Konoha Hospital*

After ensuring the Uchiha Compound was cleaned out and closed off, the Sandaime headed for the hospital check on Naruto and the survivor. Soon finding the survivor to be Izumi Uchiha, who is thankfully in a stabilized condition now, but it'd be a while before she woke up. While Naruto on the other hand was less lucky, with the loss of his eyes and how much blood he lost, it's unlikely he'll survive without a transfusion.

"And what of Sasuke?" Hiruzen asked as Sasuke had also been found to be alive, at least physically, but was completely unresponsive.

"I'm afraid that Sasuke Uchiha has been rendered braindead, Hokage-sama. Whatever was done to him, it caused his mind to simply shatter, nothing we do elicits a response and there's no sign of any activity." Replied the doctor that had been looking after Sasuke, making the Hokage sigh sadly, knowing such a fate is even worse than death, as while the body may still be functioning, the mind is simply gone.

"If I may Hokage-sama, while it's sad for such a thing to happen to someone so young, it may help us save the Uzumaki boy. As he's in need of an eye transplant and a blood transfusion, and given his…unique circumstances then Sasuke's own eyes and blood would be able to save his life." The doctor that was looking after Naruto said, with Sarutobi frowning in worry at this.

The idea of a Jinchūriki possessing the Sharingan, while potentially beneficial to Konoha, is also extremely worrying with how they'd be able to simply take control of their Bijū and gain full access to its power. Even if it'd be a boon for Naruto and Konoha as a whole for him to possess the Sharingan, he also wished that things could have ended in a peaceful solution with the Uchiha Clan, but they didn't.

'And should Naruto ever find out the truth behind it, as well as everything else that was kept from him, I fear that we may see the rise of a second Madara Uchiha.' Hiruzen thought in worry and even a little fear at the idea of Naruto having the Sharingan and Kyūbi under his control.

But at the same time he also couldn't let Naruto die either, both because he'd never be able to face Minato or Kushina again if he let their son die. And that despite everything, he is still a Jinchūriki and was needed by Konoha.

"Begin the process as soon as possible. I'll make sure a Jiraiya is present with a squad of Anbu to back him up, so they can place numerous safeguards and seals both around and on Naruto to make sure nothing goes wrong." Said Sarutobi, wanting to make sure the Kyūbi didn't try anything to ruin the surgery or make it so Naruto ends up permanently blind.

Nodding, the doctors left to get ready for surgery while the Hokage went to gather a team of trusted Anbu to be on standby.

*Timeskip-One Week*

'What…what happened?' Thought Naruto as he slowly opened his eyes, looking around in confusion at where he was, seeing it looked like a hospital room before tensing as he began remembering what happened.

Arriving at the compound, finding everyone dead, his adoptive parents being dead, Itachi being the one who killed everyone, finding Izumi, only to hear Sasuke scream and find Itachi standing over him. Before he tried attacking Itachi, only for everything to suddenly go dark.

'My eyes! He…he cut my…eyes?' Naruto thought in panic before blinking as he realized that he could still see, much to his confusion.

'My…eyes are…fine? But…I remember Itachi cut them…or…did that really happen? Was it just a dream? Then why am I in the hospital?' Naruto wondered in confusion, not sure what happened anymore.

Though when he looked to the side, Naruto's eyes widened in horror when he saw Izumi lying in a hospital bed as well.

"I-Iz-Izu-Izumi?" Naruto said in shock and horror at seeing Izumi in the hospital as well, though he was relieved to see she's alive, but also saw the bandages wrapped around her chest, right where she'd been stabbed.

Stumbling out of the bed, Naruto ran up to a mirror and looked at himself, only to be further horrified when saw that rather than his normal blue eyes, he now had black eyes. Before they suddenly turned crimson red with a single tomoe in them, much to his horror.

With the memories now completely coming back to him, that it wasn't a dream or nightmare, it was all real. Shaking his head, Naruto ran out of the room and the hospital, not wanting to believe that everything really happened. That Itachi hadn't killed everyone, including their parents and Sasuke. The Uzumaki heading for the compound, hoping to see proof that it hadn't really happened.

But the moment Naruto arrived, he saw the Uchiha Compound was blocked off and completely empty, while still seeing signs of the damage caused by Itachi.

'It…it happened…it really happened…all of it.' Thought Naruto in despair as the reality of what happened began setting in for him.

Before he clenched his fists in anger and hatred, narrowing his eyes at remembering who did this, swearing that Itachi will pay for what he's done!

So, what did you think, good. Yep we see Naruto's once again become a Jinchūriki, but this time he's been successfully taken in and adopted by Mikoto, leading to him growing up in the Uchiha Clan, though things start out rough with Sasuke who feels Naruto stole his mother away, but things get better once Mikoto explains things to them, allowing the two to start acting like brother. But then things get bad again when Naruto's Jinchūriki status is exposed, leading to an incident at the Academy where he's bullied by older students only for Sasuke to intervene and beat them but not without getting beaten himself, with Mikoto also telling Naruto about why the villagers started hating him due to the Kyūbi as well as about his parents, with this causing Naruto's faith in the village to be shaken, while we also see Itachi grow more and more distant to the Uchiha Clan, which gets even worse after Shisui's death, while Fugaku starts training Naruto and Sasuke to use the Grand Fireball Jutsu. Before we then see that night when Naruto and Sasuke find Itachi has massacred the Uchiha Clan, only for things to change as the two run after seeing he killed their parents, splitting up to get help, with Sasuke also trying to keep Itachi focused on him. With Naruto coming across a barely alive Izumi (using how she died in the anime against Obito rather than how she died in the manga) and does his best to help her before hearing a scream from Sasuke, leading him to rush to help him, only to find Itachi standing over his body. Then we see the confrontation between Sasuke and Itachi, the latter giving his "reason" for killing everyone and why he's sparing Sasuke and Naruto, before they feel Naruto's Chakra flare up to alert someone the village, leading to Itachi trying to go to finish his mission only to be stopped by Sasuke, with Itachi then using Tsukuyomi on Sasuke to leave him unconscious, only for it to prove too much and too powerful for Sasuke to handle, leaving him braindead (given it's one of the most powerful Genjutsu in the world and causes the target to experience days' worth of torture, which left even Kakashi comatose, then an eight-year-old and unprepared Sasuke really doesn't stand a chance), much to Itachi's horror before hearing someone attack him causing his battle instincts to take over and attack, only to see he attacked Naruto, destroying his eyes and nearly killing him, leaving Itachi horrified and filled with self-loathing at what he's done before being forced to leave. Then we see the Hokage and Anbu arriving to gather up the bodies, while finding Naruto and Izumi were luckily still alive, while Danzō uses Kotoamatsukami on Sarutobi to save himself from being killed, while being unable to do anything against Naruto or Izumi with Kotoamatsukami recharging and Itachi's added threat. Finally we see Naruto has received a blood transfusion and Sasuke's eyes (which means he now also has Sasuke's Chakra combined with his own) before going to when he wakes up and at first believes the massacre was a dream only to see Izumi in the same hospital room as him and his new eyes, before running to the compound and see it really happened, while swearing to make Itachi pay. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story. But thanks for giving the story a chance anyway. And hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
