Aleena made her way into the city, looking at one of the monitors before she saw Dr. Eggman. He looked distressed.
"Fellow citizens, Sonic is trying to deprive you of the light I so generously donated by breaking my Mirror Towers!" Eggman said, earning the ire of the townsfolk.
'Sonic causing trouble for innocents? That can't be right!' Aleena thought before she saw a mob heading down the street. Determined for answers, she followed them. She soon saw that they were on their way to a mansion. On the front step, she was surprised to see Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, and Vanilla with a group of humans. The mob broke through the gate, forcing them to go into the mansion. Aleena ran and, being careful not to hurt anyone, Spin Dashed through the mob until she wound up in front of the Mobians.
"Your Highness!" Tails said.
The townspeople looked surprised.
"This has gone far enough! What makes you all think Sonic is troubling you?" Aleena asked.
"The Egg Moon needs fixing and Dr. Eggman is supplying us with sunshine that we need, but Sonic is trying to make us suffer!" said Jerome Wise (the president's former advisor.)
"My son wouldn't do anything without a good reason." Aleena said.
"Your son?! Why don't you keep him under control?!" the mob asked. Suddenly, the S-Team pulled up and dispersed the crowd.
"So, you're Sonic's mom?" Chris asked.
"Yes, my name is Queen Aleena, but just call me Aleena. Now, tell me, what is the issue?" Aleena asked.
They told her everything, and she said, "So, the Egg Moon is causing an eclipse, but Sonic is destroying the Sunshine Ball Mirror Towers."
"Yeah, and worse, the police and Knuckles are on their way to attack him." Tails said.
"Knuckles? Let's go. I need to have a word with him." Aleena said.
Later, after flying the Tornado to Sonic's last reported location, they saw Sonic and Knuckles fighting. Aleena hopped down and Spin Dashed right as Knuckles was about to punch Sonic.
"That's quite enough!" Aleena said.
"Your Highness!" Knuckles said.
"Mom!" Sonic said.
"Knuckles, you ought to be ashamed of yourself! Assaulting my son like that!" Aleena said.
"But, Your Highness, he was knocking down these towers!" Knuckles said.
"I know that, but I'm sure Sonic wouldn't do it without a good reason." Aleena said.
"You're right, Mom. There's my reason." Sonic said. He pointed at the Egg Moon.
"Let me give everyone a little astronomy lesson. If the Egg Moon really was standing still, it couldn't block the sun all the time, right?" Sonic asked.
After a few minutes of thinking, everyone realized he was right.
"Eggman's been controlling it so he can con everyone into buying those silly Sunshine Balls he invented." Sonic said.
"See, I told you Sonic had a good reason." Aleena said.
"But, I get the hunch this isn't the end of Eggman's plan." Sonic said.
