Since Elena's dad and Dr Wes worked in the Augustine, in this Elena knows Aron Whitmore since childhood.
Grams didn't die because concerned for her health Stefan gave her some vampire blood when after the spell was performed and it restored her strength.
Damon never abused Caroline in this one, he was with Andy since the start of season 1.
Rest of the Canon changes would be revealed as the fic continues.
S03E21
"Just between us girls, who would you've picked." He smirks asking her this question.
"Rot in hell" she answers. Even though she was dying, her sass was on, and he quite enjoyed that about her.
He mocks her in return, "Your Welcome" He chuckles and leaves after playing with a lock of her hair. He pours himself a drink and then feels a pit in his stomach, the same pit he feels every time he learns his siblings have a secret and he is kept out of it. So he realizes that if he kills her, he will never know what her true choice is.
He goes back to her and stands in front of her, locking her wrists with his hands, he leans down and says, "Sure you would have decided yet." Elena just narrows her eyes at him and says, "Don't you have anything else to do."
He chortles and tells her, "I actually don't." and swiftly pulls of the vervain necklace out of her neck. "Hey, that's mine, give it back." She protests.
He raises his eyebrows and holding the necklace in the air says, "This" he pauses, "See my mother purchased this from Ayana's shop a thousand years ago and gave to Rebekah, so this, technically belongs to my family."
"Yeah, but Stefan gave it to me and I gave it to Rebekah and she returned it back to me so no, this mine now."
"Oh relax" He says all cheerful, "It's not like you will take it with you in your afterlife." He speeds to her and she flinches away from him, "However, I would love to return it to you if you answer me one thing honestly, and with that reasoning that you have inside that little head of yours."
She looks at him, "What?"
A mistake, when Elena's eyes were turned when she flinched there was still a chance, a minor one, but now she has looked straight into the devil's eyes, just by looking at him she realizes he is going to compel her she decides to shut her eyes close but he is faster, he wastes no time and compels her, "Just between us girls, who would you've picked?"
The compulsion is set, the answer comes out of her mouth, well, not the answer that he expected.
Elena's answer,
"I love Stefan, I truly do, but if it comes down to it, I would pick Damon."
Klaus tilts his head thinking what kind of answer it is, he compels her again, "And why would you do that?"
"Because I have seen what Damon does when I say no to him."
Klaus seemed to be pretty bored by her answer, "What does he do sweetheart, bring you gifts, tries to buy you or anything."
"No" she says, this time Klaus doesn't even has to compel her and she realizes that if she is dying then what's the point of hiding it anyways, so she answers, she answers and he listens, paying attention to her heartbeat constantly to make sure if it is all true.
"When Katherine returned to town and told him she never loved him, he showed up in my bed room and forcefully kissed me, I denied taking it any further, I said no to him, I didn't like him touching me like that I told it to him, and Damon stopped and I thought he was good but then he went and killed my brother right in front of me, if not for the Gilbert ring Jeremy would have died."
Klaus intervenes, "Well, I believe the dynamics between you and Damon have changed ever since I came here. After all you did kiss Damon and told Stefan that you don't regret it."
Elena answers, "You mean the same day when you compelled Jeremy to stand in front of the speeding car and despite me requesting Stefan to return you your family back he didn't, oh yeah right, I did. But it's not like I jumped on his bones, he came to kiss me and I responded back, reason being Stefan's actions were putting my brother's life on the line and he chose his revenge on you over the safety of my brother, yes, I guess I wanted to spite him so yes, that day I did kiss Damon back and told Stefan about it to make him hurt."
Klaus chuckles, "You Petrovas are pathetic when it comes to men aren't you, creepy, manipulative type. So you think it's okay to kiss a man when you want to but it's wrong when he does, even though you have mutual love."
"I don't love Damon" she almost comes out screaming but her blood loss makes her come out weak.
"Don't lie to me sweetheart, I know about you two getting steamy hot in the motel."
"You think Damon didn't make a move on me on our way from Mystic Falls to Denver. Yes, he did, yes, he tried to kiss me, yes, he tried to force himself on me and yes I rejected him again because I didn't want to sleep with him and do you know what price I paid. He went silent after that, pulled the car to a stop and pulled out forcefully and I found myself standing in the porch of my friend Aron's house. Aron came out running when he saw all this and Damon ripped his heart out right in front of me…"
Klaus cuts her off again, "Then you're pathetic for making out with him even after that."
Elena, "No, I am not. Damon gave me a warning, first time I said no, he killed my brother, second time I refused he killed my friend and then he gave me a warning that if I ever refuse him again, he won't stop at one kill, he will start killing from Jeremy, then he would go for Ric, then Liz, Care, Bonnie and I asked him to stop but he told me that denying him means paying the price so I should find a way to want him when next time he wants me. So I did something unexpected, I couldn't face the loss of my friend, and I couldn't imagine life with the scenario that he painted in my head so I asked him to compel."
"You asked him to compel you for what?"
"I asked him to compel me to want him and he did."
"So you're telling me you compelled him to make you want him, you're vampire hunter Elena, I know your family history, what made you so weak as to not drive a stake through his heart yourself."
"You did" she tells him, "At first, I didn't kill him because he was Stefan's brother, then you came, you turned my life upside down, I needed his muscle at my side to handle you. You think I like it when he touches me, I want to burn that skin off of me where I felt him touch me but thanks to your unhealthy influence, Damon was a necessary burden I had to bear, and now that I am dying, I actually feel relieved, relieved because I won't have to wake up the next day to imagine what would Damon want me to do today to please him."
"What does Damon make you do?" he questions, but Elena has lost almost all of her blood, she starts breathing heavily, trying to get air in her lungs.
"Elena what does Damon make you do to please him" he demands, angrier now but she is dying, her vision gets blurry, he hears her heart beating slower, he sees her eyes shutting down. Wasting no time he bites into his wrist and slips some of his blood into her mouth. As the last drop of blood is drawn Elena's heart stops beating.
