Chapter 81: VS. Team Unicorn – Yusei
Estelle fought hard, but in the end she got defeated by Jean. She put up a big fight against Breo and his Deck destruction strategy with Voltic Bicorn, but she couldn't protect herself from the inevitable. However, she managed to inflict some amount of damage to Jean, so my team was still having an advantage.
"Man, that was a close fight", Crow sighed softly.
"If Jean hadn't used Torrential Tribute to destroy Estelle's Monsters, she could've won", Bruno pointed out. "He got a lucky draw with his first six cards."
I have to admit the way Team Unicorn was playing as a team was fascinating. It was like they were completing each other with their different skills. It made me realize our team still had a lot to work on.
I hurried to my Duel Runner and put my helmet on before I rolled out from the garage and waited by the line. Estelle drove into the pit with Galaxy Serpent flying next to her, leaving pixie dust behind its body.
Estelle parked her Runner next to me and let out a big sigh of exhaustion. "This is all I managed to do, guys." She removed the team tag and passed it to me while Luna grabbed her two cards from her Duel Disk. "The rest is up to you, Yusei."
I nodded as I placed the team tag on my left arm. Luna placed Estelle's Galaxy Serpent and facedown card on my Duel Disk. I put a gentle hand on top of the Tuner Monster card. "Don't worry, Estelle. I'll make sure that neither yours nor Jack's hard work goes to waste", I told her.
Just as I was about to roll down the visor of my helmet, I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Wait!" Estelle called.
I turned to her and watched her as she removed her left glove and kissed the tip of her index and middle fingers. Before I knew it, I felt said fingers pressed against my right cheek, catching me off guard.
Estelle smiled tiredly at me. "That's for the good luck kiss you gave me earlier, Yusei. Stay safe out there."
Oh… That was an indirect good luck kiss from her.
I held myself back from smiling like an idiot. "Thank you…"
I quickly rolled down the visor to hide my red cheeks before driving out to the course with Galaxy Serpent following me.
Jack… Estelle… Everyone…
I swear I will win this…for our team!
"I've been looking forward to this moment, Fudo Yusei", Jean spoke through the intercom. "To think that I would have to come out myself… Your teammates are stronger than expected."
"Are you the one who set up your team's strategy?" I asked.
"That's right", Jean replied.
"During the Turbo Duel between Andre and I had days ago, this battle already began from back then?!"
"That's what team strategy is."
"You're amazing", I spoke honestly.
I heard a soft gasp of surprise coming from Jean. I must have caught him off guard by the compliment, not expecting hearing this from the opposite team.
"Before, I never knew that team strategy was this deep and interesting", I continued. "I'm happy that I got to Duel your team."
Jean was quiet for a moment before he responded. "No matter how you all struggle, Team Unicorn will be the victors!"
"Duel!" we yelled simultaneously as I drew my first five cards.
Jean: 3000 LP
Yusei: 4000 LP = SPC 10
"Now, show me how you fight, Fudo Yusei!" Jean shouted.
"I will!" I replied before drawing my sixth card. "It's my turn!"
Jean: 3000 LP = SPC 0 – SPC 1
Yusei: 4000 LP = SPC 10 – SPC 11
Okay, let's quickly analyze the field. I got Estelle's Galaxy Serpent and Impenetrable Attack while Jean had two facedown cards.
Galaxy Serpent, Level 2, Tuner: ATK 1000
The cards I had in my hand were Quillbolt Hedgehog, Speed Spell – Angel Baton, Rapid Warrior, Dash Warrior, Descending Lost Star, and Stronghold Guardian, which I had just drawn. I had over 10 Speed Counters, so I could use Speed World 2's effect to inflict damage to Jean twice, or draw one card, or destroy one card on the field.
Perhaps I should wait to use Speed World 2's effect on my next turn and see what Jean will do.
"I play Speed Spell – Angel Baton!" I called. "I can activate it while I have 2 or more Speed Counters! I draw two cards and send one card from my hand to the Graveyard! I send Quillbolt Hedgehog to the Graveyard!" The two cards I had drawn were Speed Spell – Star Force and Speed Spell – Speed Fusion. "Quillbolt Hedgehog's effect activates! While it's in the Graveyard and I have a Tuner Monster on the field, I can Special summon it, but it's removed from play when it leaves the field!"
Quillbolt Hedgehog, Level 2: DEF 800
"Next, I summon Rapid Warrior in attack mode!"
Rapid Warrior, Level 4: ATK 1200
"I tune Level 2 Galaxy Serpent with Level 2 Quillbolt Hedgehog and Level 4 Rapid Warrior! Clustering hopes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon!"
Stardust Dragon, Level 8: ATK 2500
"It's here!" the MC shouted. "Fudo Yusei's ace Monster, Stardust Dragon, has entered the field!"
"Stardust Dragon, attack directly with Cosmic Flare!" I shouted.
Stardust Dragon roared before he breathed silvery flames that headed towards Jean.
"I activate my Trap; Reanimation Wave!" Jean shouted. "I can only activate it when my opponent's Monster declares a direct attack! The battle damage I take is halved and I can Special summon one Synchro Monster in my Graveyard with a Level less than or equal to the attacking Monster's! Your Stardust Dragon is a Level 8 Monster, so I'm bringing back Lightning Tricorn!"
A force field encased him, protecting him from the silver flames, even though he took half the damage.
Jean: 3000 LP – 1750 LP = SPC 1
Yusei: 4000 LP = SPC 11
Once the attack was over, a gate appeared next to Jean which Lightning Tricorn galloped out from, returning fresh to the field.
Lightning Tricorn, Level 8: ATK 2800
His steed was 300 attack points stronger than Stardust Dragon. If he decided to attack me on his next turn, I had to protect my dragon from getting destroyed.
"I place one card facedown and end my turn", I called, setting Descending Lost Star.
"My turn!" Jean yelled, drawing a card.
Jean: 1750 LP = SPC 1 – SPC 2
Yusei: 4000 LP = SPC 11 – SPC 12
"I activate my other Trap card; Horn of the Phantom Beast!" he continued. "I equip it to Lightning Tricorn, giving him a power boost of 800 attack points!"
Lightning Tricorn, Level 8: ATK 2800 – ATK 3600
"Lightning Tricorn, attack Stardust Dragon!" Jean commanded.
Lightning Tricorn galloped towards Stardust Dragon with its horn being bigger than before the power boost.
"I activate the Trap; Impenetrable Attack!" I called, activating Estelle's Trap card. "During this Battle Phase, I can choose to use one of its two effects; target one Monster on the field and protect it from being destroyed by battle or by card effects or take no battle damage! I choose to protect Stardust Dragon from being destroyed!"
Just as Lightning Tricorn was about to pierce its horn through Stardust Dragon's body, an invisible shield blocked the unicorn from harming my Monster.
"But you'll still take battle damage!" Jean reminded me.
I held back a grunt as the Solid Vision affected my body, lowering my Life Points.
Jean: 1750 LP = SPC 2
Yusei: 4000 LP – 2900 LP = SPC 12
"So I couldn't destroy your ace Monster this turn, but this is just the beginning!" Jean said. "I place one card facedown and end my turn."
"It's my turn!" I called, drawing Jet Synchron.
Jean: 1750 LP = SPC 2 – SPC 3
Yusei: 2900 LP = SPC 12
My Speed Counters had reached the max amount. I could use Speed World 2 and destroy Lightning Tricorn and then attack directly, but what if Jean's facedown card could protect his steed from being destroyed? Then I would have just wasted Speed Counters for nothing. I could try defeating Jean by removing 4 Speed Counters and inflict 800 points of damage for each Speed Spell I had in my hand twice this turn, but I wanted to defeat him by battle.
That's why… I'm going to use this method.
"I play Speed Spell – Speed Fusion!" I called.
"Speed Fusion?" Jean repeated.
"I send Stardust Dragon from the field and Dash Warrior in my hand to Special summon my new Monster! Stardust Dragon! Dash Warrior! Combine your powers into one! Fusion summon! Appear now, Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste!"
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, Level 10: ATK 3200
"T-This is…! It seems like Fudo Yusei's ultimate move wasn't only a Synchro summon!" the MC commented in surprise.
"I'm not done! I activate my Trap; Descending Lost Star!" I continued. "I can Special summon a Synchro Monster from the Graveyard in defense mode, but its effects are negated, its Level is reduced by 1, its defense points become zero, and its battle position cannot be changed! Return, Stardust Dragon!"
Stardust Dragon, Level 8 – Level 7: DEF 2000 – DEF 0
"Now, I summon Jet Synchron in attack mode!"
Jet Synchron, Level 1, Tuner: ATK 500
"I tune Level 1 Jet Synchron and Level 7 Stardust Dragon! The gigantic evolution of technology will become the guardian of our planet! Synchro summon! Initiate, Colossal Fighter!"
Colossal Fighter, Level 8: ATK 2800
"Another Synchro Monster?" Jean said confusedly.
"Jet Synchron's effect! When it's sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material, I can add one 'Junk' Monster from my Deck to the hand. I choose Junk Synchron! But there's more! Colossal Fighter gains 100 attack points for each warrior-type Monster in any Graveyard! I have Rapid Warrior and Dash Warrior while you have Trident Warrior! Which means Colossal Fighter's attack points increase by 300!"
Colossal Fighter, Level 8: ATK 2800 – ATK 3100
"Now, I play Speed Spell – Star Force! I can activate it while I have 4 or more Speed Counters. I select one Monster I control and remove it from play to increase my other Monster's attack points by 100 times the Level of the removed Monster until the End Phase! I remove Colossal Fighter from play to increase Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste's attack points!"
Colossal Fighter was swallowed by a wormhole, but before that, he sent his Level Stars to my Fusion dragon to increase its attack points.
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, Level 10: ATK 3200 – ATK 4000
"Battle! Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, attack Lightning Tricorn with Spiral Javelin!"
Dragon Knight threw its javelin towards Lightning Tricorn. If this attack made it through, I could get rid of the golden unicorn.
"I activate my Trap; Barrier Wave!" Jean called. "I can activate it by tributing one Synchro Monster when an opponent's Monster declares an attack. I change all attack position Monsters my opponent controls to defense position, and then inflict damage to them equal to the attacking Monster's defense points!"
"What?!" I gaped in surprise.
Lightning Tricorn transformed into particles just before Draco-Equiste's weapon could hit it. The particles swirled around like a tornado towards my Fusion Monster, forcing it to defense mode after it got its weapon back.
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, Level 10: ATK 4000 – DEF 2000
The shiny tornado continued traveling towards me and soon engulfed me to inflict damage.
Jean: 1750 LP = SPC 3
Yusei: 2900 LP – 900 LP = SPC 12
"What a save! Jean sacrificed his powerful Lightning Tricorn to stop Yusei's attack and inflicted 2000 points of damage! Now, Yusei's Life Points are under 1000, but he's still in the safety line of Speed World 2!" the MC commented.
I wasn't expecting that. Did I make an error by hesitating and not using Speed World 2's effect to destroy either Lightning Tricorn or the facedown card?
"I end my turn", I called.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
Carly sat next to Jack's bed in the infirmary of the Kaiba Dome. There was a television in the room which showed the ongoing Duel between Yusei and Jean. Jack was still unconscious and dressed in a hospital patient gown. The doctor had examined the blonde Signer's body and found no broken bones. The doctor had cleaned and bandaged the bleeding wound on Jack's forehead before he returned to his office next to the infirmary.
The young reporter held Jack's right hand with both her hands, her worried eyes hidden by the thick glass of her spectacles. "Jack…", she mumbled softly.
As if it was a magic word, Jack stirred in his sleep before he slowly opened his eyes. Carly held back the gasp that got stuck in her throat, but her lips widened into a big smile at the sight of her crush waking up.
"Jack!" she exclaimed in relief before she let go of his hand.
Jack slowly pushed himself up so he could sit against the headboard. "Carly…? Where am I?"
"In the infirmary", Carly replied. "Yusei sent me to stay by your side."
"I see", Jack replied. "What about the Duel?"
"Estelle won against Breo, but she got defeated by Jean", Carly explained. "Now it's Yusei against Jean, but…"
"But what?" Jack asked impatiently.
"Jean used a combo with Barrier Wave, which lowered Yusei's Life Points to 900 and forced his Monster into defense position."
Jack turned his eyes at the television that showed the two Turbo Duelists. The camera first showed a close-up of Jean before it shifted to Yusei. Jack noticed Yusei's hesitating eyes, which he knew his younger foster brother would have when the pressure was getting too high for him.
The blonde Signer moved so he sat at the edge of the bed, which caught Carly's attention. "Jack?"
"I need to go back", Jack replied determinedly while he put his boots on.
"Are you sure, Jack? The doctor said you've got no broken bones, but you shouldn't strain yourself", Carly told him concernedly.
"I'm fine, but Yusei's not!" Jack retorted as he stood up. "I need to knock some sense into him!"
Carly was still a little concerned about the blonde's condition, but she knew he had to be with his friends to cheer on Yusei. Jack was limping, so she hurried to his side to take a gentle hold on his arm and placed it around her shoulders. She wrapped her other arm around his waist to help him straighten up.
"I'll help you", she told him.
Jack cast an eye at the young woman, sensing her determination to support him. The left corner of his lips twitched a little upward. "Thank you."
Carly giggled softly with pink cheeks in response.
Just as they were about to exit the infirmary, the automatic door opened to reveal the bickering duo of Mina and Stephanie. They quit arguing when they saw the door had opened and Jack and Carly were standing in front of them.
"J-J-Jack!" Stephanie stuttered nervously with bright red cheeks.
"Mr. Atlas! Are you okay?" Mina asked worriedly.
Jack growled softly, not wanting to deal with the girls now. "I'm fine! Now, get out of my way!"
All three girls flinched in fear and surprise for the blonde man's harsh tone. "B-But, Mr. Atlas, we came here because we were worried about you and wanted to help", the bluette explained.
"Well, I never asked for your help, did I?!" Jack retorted irritably. "Let's go, Carly!"
"Y-Yes!" Carly replied after she got over the small shock of Jack's harsh voice.
"B-But, Jack…!" Stephanie called as she reached out a hand to grab hold on the man's suit.
"I don't have time for you right now!" Jack exclaimed, scaring the poor waitress so she retracted her hand.
"Sorry, you two, but we've gotta hurry to our team and support Yusei!" Carly spoke up with a victorious grin. "See you later!"
"W-Wait a minute!" Mina exclaimed, feeling irritated by the reporter's grin.
However, Jack and Carly had walked away together with their arms wrapped around each other's waists. Mina and Stephanie were both fuming in anger for seeing their rival in love so close to their crush.
XXXXXXXXXX – Yusei's POV
"It's my turn!" Jean yelled.
Jean: 1750 LP = SPC 3 – SPC 4
Yusei: 900 LP = SPC 12
"I summon Spear Dragon in attack mode!"
Spear Dragon, Level 4: ATK 1900
"Next, I play the Speed Spell – Speed Energy! I can only activate it while I have 2 or more Speed Counters. I select one face-up Monster on the field and it will gain 200 attack points for each Speed Counter I have until the End Phase. I have 4 Speed Counters, meaning Spear Dragon will gain 800 attack points!"
Spear Dragon, Level 4: ATK 1900 – ATK 2700
That was more than enough to destroy Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste!
"Spear Dragon, attack Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste!"
Spear Dragon shrieked before it flew towards my Fusion Monster. Its long beak started glowing as it prepared to attack Dragon Knight.
"When Spear Dragon attacks a defense position Monster whose defense is lower than my Monster's attack, it will inflict piercing damage!" Jean quickly informed me.
"In that case, I activate Stronghold Guardian's effect from my hand! I send it to the Graveyard to increase Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste's defense points by 1500 until the end of this turn!" I called.
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, Level 10: DEF 2000 – DEF 3500
Spear Dragon was about to strike Draco-Equiste when Stronghold Guardian rose from a gate while carrying a castle with spiky towers. The little dragon's beak hit the castle, igniting sparks by the collision that traveled to Jean. He grunted softly as he took the damage while his Monster remained on the field.
Jean: 1750 LP – 950 LP = SPC 4
Yusei: 900 LP = SPC 12
"Spear Dragon's other effect!" Jean called with a soft growl. "After this card attacks, it's changed to defense position at the end of the Damage Step."
Spear Dragon, Level 4: ATK 2700 – DEF 0
"I place one card facedown and end my turn."
"Fudo Yusei managed to save his Monster from being destroyed!" the MC shouted. "Now, both he and Jean González have less than 1000 Life Points each and 50 points of difference! The excitement keeps building up to the final stage! Which team will be victorious?! Team 5D's or Team Unicorn?! Let's find out!"
I drove past the pit and saw my friends cheering for me. Jack and Carly were there as well, shouting encouraging words to me, which I couldn't hear because I drove by too fast. But by the way Jack's eyes glared at me, I knew he wanted to tell me to stop hesitate and go all out.
And that's what I was going to do.
No more hesitation!
"It's my turn!" I called, drawing Speed Spell – Vision Wind.
Jean: 950 LP = SPC 4 – SPC 5
Yusei: 900 LP = SPC 12
"I switch Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste to attack mode!"
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste, Level 10: DEF 2000 – ATK 3200
"Next, I summon Junk Synchron in attack mode!"
Junk Synchron, Level 3, Tuner: ATK 1300
I decided not to use Junk Synchron's effect to Special summon a Monster from my Graveyard. The only Level 2 Monster I had in there was Estelle's Level 2 Galaxy Serpent, but it was also a Tuner Monster, so I couldn't use it to Synchro summon.
"Speed World 2's effect! I remove 10 Speed Counters to destroy your facedown card, Jean!"
"I won't let that happen!" Jean yelled. "I activate my Trap; Cemetary Bomb! I inflict 100 points of damage for each card you have in your Graveyard! If I've done my calculation right, you've got eleven cards, which mean you'll take 1100 points of damage!"
"T-That's enough to lower Yusei's Life Points to zero!" the MC called in shock. "Could this be it?! Is this the end of the Turbo Duel?!"
"This is it, Fudo Yusei! Team Unicorn will win this Duel!" Jean shouted.
An energy sphere appeared between me and Jean that absorbed the holographic cards I had in my Graveyard. Once it had collected all eleven cards, it floated towards me as it began blinking like a countdown timer.
"I activate Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste's effect!" I quickly shouted. "While he's in attack position, when I take damage from the opponent's card effect, Draco-Equiste negates that effect and inflicts the damage to the opposing player!"
"What?!" Jean exclaimed in shock.
"T-That means-!" the MC's voice got stuck in his throat.
"Go, Draco-Equiste! Wave Force!"
Draco-Equiste flew to the energy bomb and grabbed it before throwing it at Jean. The bomb started blinking faster, obviously getting ready to explode in any second.
Jean watched in horror as the bomb came closer to him before exploded, swallowing him in its light and smoke. I heard him scream as his Life Points reached zero.
Jean: 950 LP – 0 LP = SPC 5
Yusei: 900 LP = SPC 12 – SPC 2
I drove through the smoke and made it past Jean who lost a little bit of control of his Duel Runner, but he managed to steer it right before it shut down.
"W-What a victory! After twenty turns consisting of a self-destruction, a complete army of Monsters, and inflicting damage to one another, the team who won the Turbo Duel is…Team 5D's!" the MC shouted.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
We were all cheering in our booth by the glorious victory. I had been on the edge the whole time, so I felt so relieved to finally release the tension in my body. Oh boy, this Turbo Duel turned out to be on a whole different level than what I've seen.
"We won!" the twins cheered happily.
"We won our first Duel in the Grand Prix!" Crow smiled.
"And we won it by teamwork!" I smiled widely.
"Is this…Yusei's advancements…?" Bruno mumbled softly.
"Did you say something, Bruno?" I asked.
Bruno snapped out of his trance and shook his head with a sheepish laugh. "N-Nothing…"
Yusei parked his Runner on the main course in front of the start line by our booth, so we hurried to him to celebrate our first victory in the World Racing Grand Prix. The twins didn't hesitate to jump into Yusei's arms after he had removed his helmet.
"You did it, Yusei!" Leo cheered.
"Yusei!" Luna smiled.
"Just as we would expect from you!" Crow grinned.
"Great job, Yusei!" Jack said as he got help by Carly to walk out onto the course.
"I was in awe when you managed to Synchro summon Stardust Dragon on your first turn with my Galaxy Serpent", I couldn't stop smiling.
Yusei smiled warmly at me. "It's thanks to Galaxy Serpent that I managed to pull off my strategy." He then turned to the blonde Signer. "Are you alright, Jack?"
"Yeah!" Jack nodded. "The win you gave us got rid of all my injury and pain! Well done, Yusei!"
Jean had restarted his Duel Runner and drove to the start line, but he parked behind Yusei. He got off his Duel Runner and removed his helmet before walking over to us. He didn't look angry, as I first assumed, but I couldn't really put a finger to his expression.
Yusei gently pushed the twins off of him before he got off his Duel Runner and turned to the leader of Team Unicorn. "Jean."
"We used all the means we had to win this Duel", Jean began. "And Andre and Breo did their best for victory. But, in the end, I forgot about the team's victory and lost to you personally." A disappointed smile appeared on his lips. "I couldn't avoid myself. This isn't Team Unicorn's loss, it's my loss."
"What are you acting so cool about?" Andre asked as he and Breo approached us.
Jean looked over his shoulder, surprised by Andre's reaction. "Andre, Breo! Sorry, I put all your hard work into waste!"
"It's not a waste", Breo shook his head. "You gained a new experience through this Duel."
"New experience?" Jean repeated confusedly.
"Jean, you finally met him right?" Andre asked with a grin. "An opponent that you really want to win against!"
Jean thought about it for a second before he chuckled softly. "Yes, it's just as you said. That's why I wanted to play him head on, I didn't know about it so far. That if I play my hardest, I can still feel this happy even if I lose."
"When someone meeting of your skills, Yusei…", Breo began. "…anyone would want to challenge you head on!"
"Thank you, Yusei", Jean said with an honest smile. "This Duel brought my spirit back."
"Jean, Andre, Breo, we gained something great from this as well", Yusei said. "We didn't know what it meant to fight as a team." The rest of our team nodded in agreement. "But… By fighting you three, what teamwork really is… I think I understand now."
"Yes, that's right!" Crow nodded. "Team Unicorn, you were stronger than any other team we'd faced!"
"This time, I was lured into your strategy, but it won't be so next time!" Jack added.
"It was an honor Dueling your team, but I'll protect my Monsters from sudden traps even better", I nodded with a smile.
"That feeling is the same as ours", Jean smiled with a quick wink. "The next time we compete, we'll be sure to win."
"Yes, during that time, let's give it our all!" Yusei nodded before he held out his hand.
"Yeah", Jean said before shaking hands with our leader. "Let's be sure to meet in the finals, Team 5D's!"
Andre and Breo placed their hands on top of the two leaders' hands, so Jack, Crow, and I did the same to set the promise in stone.
"Yes, let's be sure to meet in the finals!" Yusei said determinedly.

After we've changed ours clothes, my friends and I settled down in Team 5D's' VIP room to calm down and let the adrenaline slip out of our bodies. I collapsed on the couch with a huge sigh of relief and leant against the back support.
"It's over…", I said tiredly before rubbing my forehead.
"You've all done a great job, guys", Bruno praised us.
"Yeah, we've got our first win in the preliminaries!" Leo nodded with a bright grin. "One more win and we'll be in the finals!"
"Yeah", Luna nodded.
"And we've learned a lot from Team Unicorn about team work in Turbo Duels", Yusei added as he sat down on my left. "With this experience, we can coordinate our next Duels in the Grand Prix even better."
"And become stronger than before!" Jack nodded determinedly.
"That's the spirit!" Carly nodded.
I giggled softly as I closed my eyes to catch a break, but it didn't last for long.
"Umm… Estelle", Crow spoke up.
I opened my eyes and glanced at the Blackwing Duelist who had a guilty expression. "Yes, Crow?"
He rubbed the back of his head with his good arm before bowing in front of me. "I'm sorry for snapping at you before! It's just… I was so upset because I promised my nest to do my best after they drew their own banner to cheer on me. I wanted to live up to their expectations, but then…" He straightened his back before nodding at his hurt shoulder. "…This happened and I didn't know what to do. Seriously, I'm really sorry."
I stood from the couch before placing a hand on Crow's good shoulder. "It's all under the bridge now, Crow. I understand why you were so upset and I'm sorry too for not warning you in time. The incident slipped out of my mind at the time, since I've got so many things to think about. So don't be worried about it anymore, okay?"
Crow's shoulders relaxed as his tense expression softened into a gentle smile with tears collecting in his eyes. "Thank you…"
"Guys, we should see how Aki and her team are doing!" Luna called as she grabbed a remote control for the television.
"Yeah, they should be Turbo Dueling right now!" Leo nodded.
Luna turned the television on and scrolled to the channel that was airing the Turbo Duel between Team Royal Knights and Team White Wind. I hoped Aki, Sherry, and Mizoguchi would win their first Turbo Duel and we could celebrate our first victories together later this evening.
