Hello everyone!
This is my very first miraculous fanfic. I've been reading a few fanfics for a while and it makes me want to write one.
Btw, in general, I haven't written any fics for years but I'm hoping to do more in the future.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this one-shot story!
It was Christmas where everyone was gathering with friends and families; giving each other gifts, spending time with their loved ones, taking pictures for memories, and so on. Early in the morning, Marinette got up tiredly, stretching her arms and sliding down from her ladder. She realized that today was Christmas and… she was excited to go on her first date with Adrien. Her favorite crush, for a long time ever since she met him at the front of the school and gave his umbrella to her. She rolled around her chair, obsessively thinking about him. Back to reality, she walked to her window and saw the snow that was still underground.
Tikki yawned, "Good morning, Marinette."
"Morning, Tikki." Marinette smiled as she turned to her kwami. "I can't believe it's Christmas and guess wha-"
"Yeah I know, you already told me last night," Tikki cuts her off and asks. "Did you figure it out on what to get him?"
Marinette sighed as she walked to her desk, looking at her discarded work that she was working on last night, but it didn't work out.
"Honestly, nothing hasn't come up to me lately." She looked down on the floor, "I mean what should I get him for Christmas?"
Tikki hummed for a second and answered, "Well, maybe you could get something that keeps him happy. Something memorable, Marinette."
"Well, I don't know. I mean the last time I gave him a blue scarf on his birthday but he probably thinks his father gave it to him." She responded sadly.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out. I believe in you." Tiki smiled gently.
She smiled back, "Thank you, Tikki."
Her phone buzzed as she picked it up from her desk. She opened her text messages, it was Alya.
Alya: Hey Girl. Merry Christmas! 🎄😉
Marinette: Thank you! Merry Christmas to you too!
Alya: Whatcha' doing? Oh- I heard that you're going on a date with Adrien. Nervous?
Marinette's cheeks were pink as she looked at her text and her heart was beating so fast. She typed her keyboard so slow and then sent her messages.
Marinette: W-Well a little bit.
Marinette: Hey Alya, I haven't got any gifts for him lately but what should I get him?
Alya: Hmmm, something that he would like? Something meaningful I would say.
Marinette: I guess so.
Alya: Well, you'll figure it out soon. Anyway, I'll have to put my phone away for a family gathering. So Merry Christmas and have fun with your date. Or… I would say your prince. ;)
Marinette's heart was speeding up as she couldn't take it anymore with her feelings. Her best friend was always teasing her when it came to discussing Adrien, but in the end, that is how she is with her best friend.
She was spinning around with her chair, still thinking about what she was going to get him. Another buzzed as she lifted her arm and saw who was text messaging her. This time, it was Kagami.
Kagami: Merry Christmas, Marinette!
Marinette: Hey Kagami, Merry Christmas to you too! :)
Kagami: I hope you have a nice Christmas.
Marinette: Thanks. Btw, can I ask you something?
Kagami: Sure.
Marinette: Um, since you knew Adrien so well. I don't know what to get him for Christmas. I mean, I don't know what he likes.
Kagami: Something he can remember like the best moments. Something that keeps him happy. Let's face it, I think Adrien deserves to be someone who is actually there for him.
Someone who is actually there for him. Marinette pondered about the last line and texted her back.
Marinette: Thank you so much, Kagami! :) I think I have an idea!
Kagami: You're welcome. I hope your idea goes well. Good luck with everything!
She smiled warmly as she looked at her text messages. She put her phone down on her desk and went back to drawing her idea with clean paper on her sketchpad.
Adrien was stretching his arms out and walked up to his huge window. He looked down to see there was still snow on the ground. He grinned when today is not only Christmas but he was excited to go on a date with Marinette but.. probably nervous.
"You must be really happy that today you're going out with the bluebell, huh?" the black Kwami, Plagg shouted.
"Of course, Plagg. I mean ever since I first met her, she seems to be nice and kind. As I get to know her more, she is so supportive and open-hearted whenever I see her." He blushed, as he remembered the time not too long ago where Marinette confessed him."Now, I'm really glad that we're dating right now."
Plagg had never seen Adrien that happy before ever since he knew about Marinette's feelings. He could've realized that a long time ago but he still believed that she is a friend to him.
A door knocked as Adrien let his father into his room while Plagg hid behind Adrien's back.
"Adrien, I would like to speak to you about your today's plan."
Adrien sighed, "All right."
"Once you're ready, I'll be waiting for you at my office." He said in a heavy voice.
Adrien walked down into the hallways and saw his father doing work on his computer. He seems to be very serious about this.
Adrien gulped nervously, "Father, what do you want to discuss?"
"Well, I would like to talk about your friend, Marinette." He responded without looking at his son. "I heard that you're dating her, is that true?" he questioned in a very serious tone.
"Our relationship has already started like a few days ago and we haven't been going out yet." He confidently answered, "Well, today we're decided to spend time together since it's Christmas."
His father narrowed his eyes at him in a strict way, "Marinette seems like a nice and very supportive person when she's around to you especially in school."
Adrien smiled cheerfully while his father changed the subject.
"But, I won't let you go out dating her."
Adrien's eyes were shocked, "What? Why father?"
"Because I don't want you to hang around with this person."
"Father, you don't know her well. She may be clumsy, stuttering, and shy but she's the most amazing person that I ever met in my life. She changed me so much ever since I entered high school. She even convinced you to let me go to New York with her and other classmates. She literally proves that she cares for me and.. She loves me!" He said in a sharp tone and continued, "Plus, I am sick of tired sitting around like a prison and makes me want to get out of the house. Sometimes, I just want to take a break from everything and enjoy but you never let me do anything." His hand was gripped as he showed his anger in front of his father.
Gabriel sighed and turned around to his son, "You're right Adrien, I am really sorry for everything. I mean I was focusing on too much work and worrying about my job rather than watching out for you.. Or maybe spend time with you.. Ever since your mother passed away, I put so much stress on everything in my life.." He sighed again with the disappointed tone, "I'm sorry, Adrien."
Adrien looked at him worriedly that he seems to have put all his time but at the same time, he cannot look at his face ever, "I'm going back to my room, father." He scowled as he had to prepare for their date within a few hours.
Marinette has been sketching for two hours and nothing came up honestly. Her whole idea was thrown away and crumbled all over the floor and table. She sighed and put her head on her table that she was given up and turned to the Red Kwami.
"This is too hard Tikki. I tried everything. I don't think my idea is working."
"Don't give up, Marinette. I am sure you'll think of something else." Tikki said confidently.
"Yeah, Tikki is right." Dazzi, the Pink Kwami said cheerfully, "You will figure something out."
"Even if you don't have a gift from him, then I'm sure he will be happy." Pollen smiled sweetly to her.
Marinette raised her body and smiled all of her Kwamis, "Thanks, guys. I don't know what I can do without you."
Her phone ringed on her table as she picked it up, it was Adrien. She got up and realized that she was going to be late for her first date. She went to her closet very quickly, picked up her outfits, and get changed.
While she was changing, the horse kwami asked rudely, "Speaking of that, what is a date?"
"Well, a date means a romantic relationship where two people meet each other and go out," Barkk answered.
When Marinette was done changing, she wore a heavy dark blue jacket with a pink scarf around her neck and a white earmuff. She also wore pink jeans and heavy brown boots for the snow. She did not feel so great with that winter outfit as she looked at her mirror.
She took a deep breath in and then let it all out, "Alright, I am leaving to go on a date with Adrien."
"Have fun Marinette!" All of the Kwami smiled joyfully.
Half an hour later, Adrien was standing at the staircase of Trocadero, waiting for her so patiently. He was really excited to see her. As he checked on his phone to see the time, it was 12:40 PM and she has not arrived yet. Even though they agreed to meet at 12:30 PM last night but maybe she has personal things to do or she could have texted her if she was coming late. He looked around the street if she was around and he spotted her. She waved at him with a smile on her face but she looks tired as she ran to him by the stair.
"Hey Marinette," He smiled warmly.
Marinette took a deep breath and let it all out as she apologized to him, "I am so sorry for making you wait, Adrien. I lost track of time while I was doing..." she paused herself.
"Doing what?" He tilted his head confused.
"I-I was helping out my parents at the bakery since there are so many customers this morning a-and I had to be there for them to make sure they got everything. Y-You know how things work." She stuttered while she was hiding about the gift.
He smiled gently, "It's ok, I mean you have a good reason to say that."
She nodded as she changed the topic, "Anyway, shall we go. We don't want to stand there all day like a statue."
He laughed cheerfully, "Alright. Let's get out of here then."
As they walked downstairs and discussed their plan. Adrien looked up on his phone, researching the place he wanted to go: Jardin d'Acclimatation, the amusement park. Marinette was surprised as she thinks it was far away from their location. He told her not to worry that he called a taxi to drive them there. Once the taxi arrived, they both got in as they showed them where they want to go. As they got to the amusement park, Adrien paid for the driver and then entered as they saw many cool rides and games. The couples did not know where they want to start or go. Adrien pointed to the flying chairs as Marinette accepted his request. They both sat in a different chair and were riding on it. Both of them smiled at each other as they were having fun. Then, Marinette was riding the horse on the Merry-Go-Round while Adrien was standing and smiling at her to make sure she enjoyed it. Her heart was beating so fast and blushed as she turned away from him, knowing that she loves him so much.
Marinette wanted to go to the cup ride and asked if that was ok for him. He answered no problem. While they were riding, Marinette was having a laid-back moment while Adrien seems sad and stressed.
Marinette looked so worried and questioned him, "What's wrong, Adrien? You don't look so good."
He sighed, "Well, my father and I were arguing about our date plans this morning. He's so stubborn that he doesn't want me to go out with you without any reason. All he cares about is his damn work, not realizing he has a son at home."
Her heart dropped about the last few sentences worrying about his father.
"Now, I don't feel like coming home especially it's Christmas." He finished speaking as he closed his eyes and lower his head.
"W-Well, maybe he needs some time to think about. Maybe he was wrong as a father but he will change his mind hopefully." She smiled a little as she tried to comfort him by changing the topic. "Hey, maybe we can go to the gift shops and buy something for your father. And Natalie too. Maybe if that could make you feel any better."
Adrien lifted his head and smiled a little bit, "Ok, I think that's a great idea."
She smiled back while staring at the blue scarf that he was wearing, which reminded her of the time where she dropped off his birthday present at his house.
The couples walked inside the gift shop with a bunch of Christmas decorations and items such as teddy bears, coffee mugs, shirts, handmade collections, and many more as they looked around. Adrien scratched his head not knowing what to buy for his father while Marinette was looking around to see if there were any ideas what he would like. He searched almost the whole store but had not any luck until he found something special on the shelf: it was the glass keepsake that had a father and son on it which reminded them so much. He picked it up and decided to buy one including a simple green mug that said "Merry Christmas" for Natalie. Marinette saw him as he went up to the cashier and paid it out of his pocket. He asked if they could wrap it up and they responded very nicely.
Marinette was sitting outside of the table while Adrien was ordering the drinks at the Cafe store. She felt unhappy that she has not gotten anything for him, his Christmas present. She bet that he got something for her in his bag. Honestly, what can she say to him? She has nothing on her hand, saying right in front of him? He probably would not like it as she thought. She sighed a few times as Adrien came back with the drinks.
He sat down in the opposite of her and felt concerned, "What's wrong, Marinette?" He asked as he gave the hot chocolate to her.
"Oh, nothing! You don't have to worry about anything." She waved her hand like everything goes fine but in reality; it was not.
"You don't have to hide anything from me, Marinette," Adrien responded honestly, "I mean, you asked me earlier what's going on. Now you can do the same."
Her heart stopped as she did not know what she wants to say. She does not know how to react or express herself while Adrien smiled positively as he gave her confidence to say.
She took a deep breath in and out, "It's fine, Adrien. It's just that I had a bad morning after I woke up but now I'm all better."
"Oh ok. Well, as long as you're ok then I don't have to worry about you." He grinned sadly.
She chuckled and blushed at the same time, "Thanks." She slipped her drinks as they keep the conversation going happily.
The couples continued having fun around the park such as game activities and more rides. The sun has begun to set, both were heading to the Christmas tree where the staff was preparing to turn on the light. It has colorful lights such as green, white, yellow ornaments, and many more colors that were hanging on the tree branches. There also has a beautiful star on top of the tree where everyone can see from above. Marinette had been staring at the tree for a while, thinking about there are so many moments between her and Adrien. She remembered that day where they went to New York, dancing in the sky at night and hugging each other. She feels more than a friend. She also remembered that time where they both slept together on the train while they were on a school trip. Her face went pink and closed her eyes as she recalled every moment ever since they both met outside of school during the rainy day.
"Hey, Marinette," Adrien called as he faced her.
She opened her eyes as she was back in the real world, "Huh, what is it, Adrien?"
"Here," He gave her a box of a present that looks like a square, wrapped with red and has a yellow ribbon on top, "Merry Christmas." He smiled gently.
She blushed a little bit and took his present, "T-Thanks." She smiled back at him. Now she was ready to tell him truthfully, "Um, Adrien. I actually wanted to tell you something."
He surprisingly eyes her like she was making an announcement.
"The truth is that I don't have any gift for you this year. I lied about helping my parents in the bakery. Instead, I worked all morning trying to figure out what you would like but I failed." She responded with a sad tone as she looked straight at his eyes.
He smiled at her as she told him honestly which he understood why she hid it all the time while going on the date, "I'm glad you told me, Marinette." He smiled fondly, "I probably don't need a gift from you, to be honest. I think our first date is enough which makes it even more memorable."
She smiled at him slowly and took his words. Her face went pink and said, "Um, I-I actually want to say one more thing."
"Go ahead."
She took a deep breath in and let everything go out as she forwarded to him slowly. She tipped her toes so that she could reach his lip. They both kissed each other softly as they were having their first experience.
When they both broke off, Adrien's face was red, "Wow, Marinette." He turned away from her. "I-I didn't know what to say."
She giggled while she blushed, "Well, since I don't have any gift for you then maybe a kiss would be enough hopefully." She narrowed her eyes.
He turned back on her and chuckled, "Alright. I guess a kiss is a lot better than gifts."
They both stared at each other in the eyes for a bit then they gently let their lips touch and enjoyed the feelings. This was an amazing time of a year for them where they never had these experiences before, especially for Marinette who always dreamed to do with her boyfriend. She always fell in love with him in her heart.

Honestly, it took me like 2 weeks to type up and then edit at the same time. But in the end, I finally finished this up before Christmas so I'm happy with that!
One thing that I wanted to let you know is that the place is real and I did my research. But some areas I made up such as the cup ride and gift shops.
Anyway, I hope you like it and if you dislike it, then I don't mind with feedbacks because I want to improve myself so that I can keep notes on it in the future.
So I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your friends and families and stay safe too! We'll see you next year!
Bye!
