Chapter 90: Clear Mind
Dark Glass watched as Yusei drove ahead with the new speed he had acquired. The Signer hadn't realized his Duel Runner had been enveloped in the same pink light that Dark Glass had been in when they Turbo Dueled and he had displayed the scene of Accel Synchro summoning the first time.
"You can do it, Yusei…", Dark Glass whispered. "Look deep inside the speed and you shall find the answer!"
It didn't take long before Yusei disappeared from the Duel Lane in the light of speed, leaving Dark Glass alone with the army of Riding Roids.
"Duel!" the army chanted before the infinity symbol appeared around Dark Glass.
Usually, a single Turbo Duelist would grimace by the sight, fearing that they couldn't take out a whole army of enemies on their own, but to Dark Glass this was nothing.
"I'll take care of you!" the futuristic Duelist shouted. "Duel!"

At the same time as Yusei vanished into the light of speed, Lester and Jakob sensed the presence of a new stone tablet falling from the space toward Japanese soil. They knew their God had sent a gift for them, so they immediately set up screens to verify the identity of the stone tablet. After all, Jakob was the only one left who hadn't received his Meklord Emperor.
The stone tablet collided with the earth far outskirts of the city and spat dirt and the vegetation around the area, forcing the animals to run for their lives before they could get buried alive. A massive mushroom cloud of dirt and dust floated up to the sky and lingered for a while before the wind cleared it up.
Jakob and Lester held back their gasps of surprise when they checked the stone tablet. "Impossible! That tablet isn't mine!" the oldest Pure Noble exclaimed in disbelief.
"Why did he get a tablet?!" Lester shouted bewilderedly, seeing Yusei had appeared in the wilderness by the newly formed crater.
"Fudo Yusei…", Jakob muttered. "Is he the one who's also heard the voice of God?!"
"That can't be! Then does this mean that he's the same as us?!" Laster gasped. "That's impossible!"

Yusei jumped out of a gate with his Duel Runner and came to a halt by a bare land. He looked around with a confused expression as his mind returned to normal.
"Where am I?" he spoke out loud.
He could smell the scent of fire and burn and fresh dirt, meaning something had happened to the area before he appeared in the wilderness. The sky was clear with the sun shining upon him, a huge difference compared to the dark atmosphere back in New Domino City.
Yusei soon realized he was next to a crater, just created by an object that had fallen from the sky. He got off his Duel Runner and removed his helmet, which he placed on the seat, before he climbed up to the top of the crater. His eyes widened when he saw it wasn't a meteorite that had caused the destruction.
It was a stone tablet!
He briefly remembered what Estelle told him and everyone else about the first two stone tablets that appeared the same way months ago. Those tablets had been the ones of the two Meklord Emperors that Ghost and the child who pretended to be Leo and Luna's new classmate had used against the Signers.
However, this one looked nothing like a machine Monster. The closer he got to the stone tablet, the more he saw the carved artwork resembled the mysterious white dragon he saw in that vision when he fell into a trance back in the city.
"Is this…the thing that showed me the path of light?" Yusei spoke out loud.
Without hesitation, he touched the surface of the stone tablet. A light erupted from the stone tablet, catching the young man off guard, before it teleported him to the white digital world where he, Bruno, Estelle, and Sherry had been sent to when they tried analyzing Sherry's mysterious card.
Yusei gasped when he saw the same machine they had seen before. He quickly got into a defensive pose in case the machine was going to attack him. After all, Estelle told him that machine was with Iliaster, which meant it was an enemy! "Who are you?!"
"Yusei…", a man's deep voice echoed from the machine. "You've obtained an alternative possibility."
Yusei blinked his eyes before he noticed he had something in his right hand. He brought it up and saw it was a blank white Synchro Monster card.
"This is…", the Signer mumbled.
"That is Clear Mind's requirement", the man from the machine explained. "A card that has the possibility of Accel Synchro."
"What?!" Yusei exclaimed, surprised that the enemy was actually helping him.
"You have the right to take it. All possibilities must be made equal."
"Do you know me?!" Yusei shouted.
"You must follow the path you believe to be right. If you do so… Someday…"
The machine was leaving the world, but Yusei couldn't let the man in the machine leave just yet. He had so many questions to ask him.
"Wait!" Yusei yelled before he ran after the machine.
At the first step he took, he was immediately brought back to the crater where the stone tablet once stood, but it was no longer there. It was now in his hand in the shape of a blank Duel Monsters card.
Yusei knew he wouldn't get the answers he needed now, but he promised he was going to get to the bottom of this someday. He climbed up the crater and noticed he had a clear view of New Domino City by the horizon. Thick dark clouds were covering the city and pillars of smoke raised to the sky by the ongoing destruction. He recalled the last words the man in the machine had told him. He had to follow the path he believed was right.
Right now, it was to save the city! His home! His friends! His loved ones!

Dark Glass had the upper hand against the Riding Roids for a while, but now he was starting to get overwhelmed. Whenever he defeated a Riding Roid, two new ones joined the army, making it look like a never-ending Turbo Duel. He suddenly felt the tingling sensations of a Clear Mind, which made him smile.
The pink light of extreme speed engulfed the area before a bombarding noise of the sound barrier erupted. After that, Yusei appeared from the light and entered the Duel Lane.
"Yusei!" Dark Glass called in relief.
Yusei slightly shook his head to get rid of the sensations he had just experienced and focused on the situation. "Dark Glass!" he called. "I think I found it!"
"You found Clear Mind's requirement?" Dark Glass asked.
"Yes!" Yusei nodded before he noticed the army of Riding Roids driving behind them. "We can defeat the Ghosts now!"
"Let's work together!" Dark Glass nodded.
"Yeah!" Yusei agreed.
All of the sudden, the Signer gritted his teeth when he felt pain emitting from his glowing Mark. He turned his eyes on his right arm, sensing someone was in danger. "Who…?" He gasped in realization when he sensed who needed help. "No… Dark Glass! One of my friends is in danger!"
"What?" Dark Glass said.
"I've got to go and help her!" the Signer called.
"I understand, but the city will be in danger if the Ghosts follow us!" Dark Glass told him.
Yusei held back an annoyed grunt with his teeth. Dark Glass was right. If the Riding Roids kept following them after leaving the Duel Lane, the city would be in grave danger again.
"Go, Yubel!" a voice suddenly yelled from the other side. "Attack the fake Duelists!"
"Help her out, Rainbow Dragon!" another voice called out as well.
Yusei and Dark Glass looked over their shoulders to see the two new Monsters attacking the Riding Roids. The Signer's eyes widened in disbelief as he recognized both Monsters from the time when he traveled back in time to save the future from being destroyed by the change of past caused by Paradox.
"Those are…!" Yusei gasped as he looked past the army of Riding Roids.
Two Duel Runner were driving behind the Riding Roids, one red in the shape of the Egyptian God Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the other one was white and decorated in different colored gems. The rider of the red Duel Runner wore a red riding suit, strongly resembling the old school uniform of Duel Academia, while the rider of the gem Runner had the same riding suit as his partner, except his was colored in blue.
"Yo! It's been a while, Yusei!" the rider of the red Duel Runner waved his arm.
Yusei gasped in disbelief when he recognized the red rider. "You're…Yuki Judai!"
It was indeed Yuki Judai, one of the legendary Duelists who graduated the Duel Academia, and the young male Yusei had joined forces with to stop Paradox's plans, except this Judai was no longer a young adult. He was a man in his early forties and had slightly longer hair in the back that reached his shoulders, but his sunshine grin hadn't changed.
"Glad to hear you remember me!" Judai grinned widely. "But I'm not Yuki anymore! I'm Judai Anderson!"
"Judai, we can have this reunion later", the other rider told him.
"Right, Johan", Judai grinned at his husband before turning to the two Duelists in the front. "Yusei! We'll take care of these Riding Roids if you need to go elsewhere!"
"Are you sure?!" Yusei shouted. "It's just you two against these Ghosts!"
"It's not just us!" Judai shook his head.
Yusei stretched his neck to get a better look over his shoulder and spotted three more Duel Runners driving behind Judai and Johan. He couldn't recognize those Duelists because of the distance, but he could tell they were here to assist them.
"The team we are sponsoring for the Grand Prix is here to help!" Johan shouted.
Yusei nodded, "I'll be in your debt! Be careful!"
With that said, Yusei and Dark Glass drove towards the closest exit that had opened the gate so they could drive out to the streets of the city. The Riding Roids were about to follow them, but they got blocked by Yubel and Rainbow Dragon.
"We are your opponents now!" Yubel snarled at the androids.
Rainbow Dragon screeched in response, agreeing with the demonic Duel Monster.
"It's been a while since I had such an exciting Duel!" Judai grinned as his brown eyes changed into Yubel's heterochromatic eyes of orange and green. "Get your game on!"
Johan chuckled sheepishly at his husband's behavior before he looked over his shoulder at the team of trio driving behind them. "Är ni tre redo? (Are you three ready?)"
"Ja, Mäster Anderson (Yes, Master Anderson.)", the Duelist in the middle responded.
"Vanligtvis är det jag som är jokern, så jag uppskattar inte falska töntar! (Usually I'm the joker, so I don't appreciate fake jerks!)" the second Duelist wiggled his index finger.
"Det er på tide å lære disse androidene en hard lekse (It's time to teach these androids a hard lesson.)", the third Duelist rumbled deeply.
One of the Riding Roids drove backwards so it could trap the five Turbo Duelists in the infinity symbol that made the Duel and effects real.
"DUEL!"
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
I couldn't tell how much time had passed since I started fighting Primo, but my stamina was getting weak for each clash with the weapons. My stamina was far from perfect and my swordsmanship still needed to get shaped, so I was now struggling against the Pure Noble. He was an android and he was programmed to be a master swordsman, so I had to improvise to try catching his guard off and inflict damage so he could at least malfunction for a while. I tried using some special attacks at him, but he managed to reflect them back, which I managed to dodge without getting hurt. I soon realized I could hit the buildings around us and maybe injure the people that were still hiding inside, so I decided not to use them until it was absolutely necessary.
I was now fighting Primo with a cracking katana. The blade had suffered massive damage from my opponent's sword. This was actually the fifth katana I had summoned since the battle started. I had the disturbing revelation that a katana was weak against the classic European sword, so whenever the blade of a katana broke, I had to buy time to pluck another feather from my wings and summon a new katana.
I blocked each attack with it as I fought back by slashing Primo, but it didn't take long before the blade of my katana broke off by another clash with his sword. I dropped the handle of the broken katana and jumped back so I could summon another katana, but Primo was faster and roundabout kicked me on my abdomen with such a force that I crashed onto the ground. The hard concrete scratched my back and wings, so I knew I was going to have a sore back after this. I recovered from the assault as I heard Primo's running heels, so I quickly rolled to the side before he stabbed the hard concrete instead of my soft flesh.
I tried enduring the aching pain in my body as I stood up, covered in sweat, dirt, and bruises. My knees felt like they were about to give up, but I couldn't let Primo win just yet.
"You are a very persistent woman, Priestess!" Primo growled before he pulled his sword out from the concrete.
He showed no signs of fatigue, but his clothes were dirty from the attacks and I could see some cuts I managed to leave on the fabric.
"T-That's…one of my strong sides…", I panted as I plucked another feather from my wings, transforming it into a new katana.
My arms were shaking while the wrists were aching as I slowly lifted up the katana. I was reaching my limit, but I had to keep fighting to protect my friends, my home, my family!
"That won't help you for long!" Primo yelled before charging at me.
I braced myself to block the sword, but I flinched in pain when I twisted the wrists. That was enough distraction for Primo to swing his sword and knock the katana out of my hands. I only had seconds to react, so I used my left hand to hold my right arm and blocked another swing of the sword with the gauntlet. The Crimson Dragon once told me the gauntlets on both my arms were made by the hard scales of Star Eater, so if it came down to the worst, I could use them to block attacks.
Primo added as much strength as he could, which slowly forced me down on one knee as I tried my best to push back the sword. Before I knew it, he quickly drew back his sword and used the handle to strike me on the side of my head with such a force that it almost knocked my brain out of the skull. I was about to black out by the punch when I heard a familiar noise of a Duel Runner. The last thing I saw was something red before I lost consciousness.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
Yusei and Dark Glass drove through the destruction of the streets, heading to where Yusei sensed the pain coming from Estelle. He could tell she was in desperate need of help, so he picked up the pace with Dark Glass right behind him.
The Signer dodged the obstacles on the roads and jumped over flipped vehicles and the remnants of Riding Roids. Nothing was going to stop him from reaching the destination. He rounded a corner and felt his eyes widen in shock when he saw Primo hit Estelle on the head with the handle of his sword, knocking down the woman to the ground where she remained. Her Mark shone for a split second before canceling the powers, transforming her back into her riding suit.
Yusei accelerated and literally drove towards Primo, who noticed the Signer from the corner of his eyes. The Pure Noble gritted his teeth and jumped back before the red Duel Runner could hit him. Yusei braked and turned his Runner by force, causing the tires to screech, before he stopped in front of Estelle so he wouldn't accidently run over her.
Primo landed several meters from the Signer and glared at him. Yusei's stoic expression had changed into a serious angry one while his aura was fuming in anger of what was about to happen. Dark Glass parked next to Yusei to act as a shield so no more harm would come to the fallen Priestess.
"Fudo Yusei?!" Primo growled. "I thought my Diablos have taken care of you!"
"Primo!" Yusei exclaimed as he pointed at the Pure Noble. "You'll regret attacking New Domino City and harming Estelle and everyone else! I'm your opponent now!"
Primo smirked maliciously as he sheathed his sword. "Like a prince arriving in time to save his princess… Very well. I will exterminate you once and for all! T 666!"
Primo's body was enveloped by the same red holographic numbers as before, but the only changes done this time was adding a silver helmet on his head. The roar of a Duel Runner echoed in the empty streets before a slick silver Duel Runner with large exhaust pipes on the back appeared by the intersection. Primo jumped up in the air before landing gracefully onto the Duel Runner and grabbed the handles. He drove past Yusei, displaying a clear sign to follow him for the Turbo Duel.
Yusei narrowed his eyes at the Pure Noble before he looked over his shoulder. "Dark Glass! Look after Estelle for me!"
"Okay!" Dark Glass nodded.
It pained his heart, but Yusei had to prioritize Primo and defeat him so he could put an end to the invasion. After sending a worried glance at Estelle, he drove from the intersection to catch up to Primo who was waiting impatiently for him.
Dark Glass got off his Duel Runner and kneeled down next to Estelle to slowly pick her up. She had blood running down the side of her head where she had been struck and she was unresponsive.
"Not good. She needs medical attention", Dark Glass told himself.
He lifted her up in bridal style as he climbed onto his Duel Runner. Nobody knew about this, but Dark Glass had the same ability as Primo and the Riding Roids. He drew the top card of his Deck and checked what card it was before placing it on the Duel Disk.
"Come out, T.G. Striker!"
T.G. Striker grunted as he flew out from a gate and stood on the concrete next to Dark Glass' Runner.
"T.G. Striker, I need you to carry Estelle", Dark Glass told him. "We need to bring her to the hospital."
T.G. Striker nodded with a soft grunt in response. Dark Glass held out Estelle's body to the Duel Monster so he could carry her instead. The futuristic Turbo Duelist twisted the handle before he drove away to the direction of the hospital. T.G. Striker flew after him with the unconscious Priestess in his arms.
XXXXXXXXXX – Aki's POV
When I arrived to the hospital, there was an army of Riding Roids surrounding the building, so I summoned Black Rose Dragon and took them out before they could cause more harm to the people inside. Breo showed up shortly after that to check on Andre and Jean, and also volunteered to help the nurses and doctors to look after the patients. I decided to follow his lead and brought my hybrid Duel Disk on the Wrist Dealer along for just in case.
I helped out by aiding the injured patients and treated the fresh wounds they had suffered from the assault of the Riding Roids. The electricity was out, but the equipment was still running by a backup generator.
I stumbled upon a little girl who got scared by a lightning bolt when I walked past her in the corridor, so I comforted her until she calmed down. Her name was Haruka and she loved Dueling, so I promised to Duel her after the invasion would reach its end.
The weather outside had intensified with lots of thunder and lightning, making it dangerous to go outside. None of us knew what was happening because the televisions and smartphones were inoperative. I assumed it was Iliaster's doing.
I sensed Estelle's pain a while ago, but then it stopped, so I had no idea what happened to her. Was she hurt and needed help? Should I head outside and look for her?
I walked around in circles in the lobby, debating with myself to go outside and look for my friends and help them, but there was a big chance I could end up getting hurt by the lightning. I snapped my head up when I heard the automatic doors open by the entrance and a loud voice shouted desperately.
"Somebody, help! I've got a woman here who needs medical attention!"
I turned to the entrance and gasped in surprise at the sight. It was that mysterious man who once approached Yusei when he and Estelle were about to have a practice Duel a long time ago! My attention quickly wandered to the body he held in his arms. My eyes widened in horror when I realized it was Estelle!
"Estelle!" I shrieked in fear and ran to them.
"You are…", the mysterious man mumbled.
"What happened to her?!" I asked, seeing Estelle was unconscious and had some dried blood smeared in her hair.
"She got hit on her head, so I suspect she has a concussion or even worse", the man replied.
I was pushed to the side when a couple of nurses ran to us with a stretcher and a doctor who wore a face mask. The mysterious man gently placed Estelle on the stretcher before she was rolled to another part of the hospital.
"Take care of her while I go out and assist Yusei, Aki", the man told me before he turned around to leave.
I snapped my head up when I realized something. "Wait!" I called, stopping the man in his tracks. "How do you know my name?!"
The man stayed with his back turned to me, never once turning around to face me. "I've seen you Dueling for Team Royal Knights in the preliminaries."
With that being said, the man ran out of the hospital to his Duel Runner that stood by the entrance. He jumped onto it and drove away to find and help Yusei. I couldn't decide if he was brave or out of his mind driving in the unnatural thunderstorm.
I hurried to the ER to see how Estelle was doing, but when the doctor and nurses didn't come out after some time, I chose to be productive and see if I could help out elsewhere in the hospital.
I found Haruka again standing by the windows and looking outside, just as many other patients, probably wondering when the storm was going to pass. All of the sudden, the wind outside got violent and shattered the windows. I quickly grabbed Haruka and threw us down to the ground before the glass could hit our eyes.
I held her tight while silently praying to Yusei to end the attack to the city. I could sense his pain and struggle through our Marks. I sent back a piece of my hopeful emotions to encourage him to not give up.
While I was in my deep thoughts, I heard Haruka exclaim in my arms. I looked up and saw her cards had flown out from the pocket of her pyjamas and flew out the open windows with the wind current.
"My cards!" Haruka yelled as she got out of my arms and ran to the window to grab them.
"Haruka!" I yelled.
She leant out the window to get the cards, but a powerful wind current blew her out of the building, making my heart almost leap out of my chest.
"HARUKA!"
I held onto the window frame and looked outside, finding Haruka clinging onto the emergency stairway outside for dear life.
"Haruka, don't let go of that!" I shouted.
"Help me!" Haruka screamed in fear.
I activated my Duel Disk and grabbed my Deck to scroll through it and find the Monster that could help me. "I summon Rose Tentacles!"
Rose Tentacles appeared outside of the building and used its tentacles to hold onto the emergency stairway one level above Haruka. I ran to the door leading to the stairway and opened it before getting greeted by a powerful wind current which forced me to grab onto the threshold.
"Rose Tentacles! Grab the girl under you and bring her over here!" I yelled through the harsh wind.
Rose Tentacles responded by lowering two of her tentacles to Haruka. My Monster wrapped the tentacles around the girl's abdomen and lifted her up while clinging onto the stairway when another strong wind current blew around it. I clung onto the threshold so I wouldn't get caught by the wind as I watched the scene unfold. Rose Tentacles gently brought her to me and removed its tentacles when Haruka was safe in my arms. The little girl clung onto my riding suit as she sobbed on my chest. The patients who had witnessed the incident cheered around us and clapped their hands. Rose Tentacles dissipated now that her work was over. One of them shut the door before the wind could snatch any of us again.
Haruka cried uncontrollably as I held her in my arms, gently patting her head to comfort her. "It's okay now, Haruka", I spoke softly. "I'll get you some new cards when the storm is over. Cards are replaceable, but your life isn't. So don't do something like this again, okay?"
Haruka nodded against my bust before she looked up with tear-stained glasses. "O-Okay… Th-Thank you, big sister…"
My heart got warm when I heard the sobbing thank you. It felt good to use my powers to save people instead of using it for destruction. I used to view my psychic powers as a curse, but not anymore. It was a blessing because I had powers to protect people.
XXXXXXXXXX – Yusei's POV
I had the disturbing revelation when Primo fused himself with his Duel Runner at the beginning of the Turbo Duel. He was an android, just like the Riding Roids! He used his power to practically destroy everything in his path, which almost gave me a panic attack as it reminded me of Zero Reverse. I stopped his destruction by slamming his Duel Runner on the side with mine. That was enough agitation to return his attention at the Turbo Duel, but first he controlled the thunder clouds and used the lightning to create an outage in the city.
I managed to Synchro summon this Synchro Tuner Monster I found in my Extra Deck after my encounter with that man in the mysterious machine, Formula Synchron, and tried Accel Synchro summoning, but it failed when Primo taunted me by talking about Zero Reverse and my father, claiming I was following his footsteps and repeated the same fate, and used the force of the nature to attack the city once again.
I couldn't take it anymore and lost my concentration. That gave Primo time to let Meklord Emperor Wisel absorb Stardust Dragon. I was so confused of how I failed to perform Accel Synchro. I thought I had everything I needed for it, and yet it failed miserably.
While I tried figuring out the last piece of the puzzle, I played defensively to survive the Turbo Duel and come up with a plan to retrieve Stardust Dragon from Meklord Emperor Wisel's grasp. By some miracle, I survived two turns before I managed to bring back the Signer Dragon to my side of the field and Special summoned the destroyed Formula Synchron from the Graveyard while barely holding on with my low Life Points. The fact that I brought back Stardust Dragon upset Primo that his Meklord Emperor responded to his anger by summoning a huge tornado that swallowed me and my Monsters until I was in the middle of its eye with Primo.
Primo tried taunting me again by talking about Zero Reverse, but I didn't listen to him this time. I may be the son who created the first Ener-D Reactor that had the meltdown, but I survived to make sure such tragedies could never repeat again! I wanted to protect my home! My present! My future!
The other Signers responded to my determination and lent me their power. I closed my eyes and only concentrated on the wind and the power that surged within me. It felt like what I sensed before, when Dark Glass told me about Clear Mind.
I had entered the world of speed and obtained Stardust Dragon's new evolved form; Shooting Star Dragon! I've accomplished Clear Mind!
With the power of Formula Synchron, I managed to Accel Synchro summon Shooting Star Dragon during Primo's turn when he activated Meklord Emperor Wisel's effect to snatch Stardust Dragon, but it failed since the Signer Dragon had left the field. Shooting Star Dragon's appearance made the storm clouds fade away, so the nature catastrophe was over.
Thanks to Shooting Star Dragon's powerful effects, I defeated Primo and his Meklord Emperor on my turn with a large explosion. The Turbo Duel ended by the most unexpected place; the monument of the unification between New Domino City and Satellite.
Primo skidded down the road on his Duel Runner after getting thrown forward by the explosion. He ended up getting torn from the Runner and crashed on the highway, wires and cables sparkling from the ripped abdomen. I was about to check on him when he was levitated up to the top of the monument by two other people clad in white robes.
They turned out to be part of Iliaster and were the Three Emperors of Iliaster with Primo. Dark Glass, Jack, and Crow showed up in time as Jakob and Lester told us how they were the ones who ordered Lazar to steal the first program Bruno and I worked on together and Primo used that program to create the army of Riding Roids.
They also told us about Iliaster's background and their plans to change the future, and they confessed they were the ones responsible of erasing people they found unworthy to keep around while correcting history, which was the moment Sherry and Mizoguchi attacked Jakob and Lester. The brief fight came to an end with the duo barely escaping death.
Jakob revealed more about how my father managed to cause further damage to the future. He confessed Iliaster used Roman to try making the Old Ener-D Reactor disappear, hence the original reason of Zero Reverse. However, that plan failed when the Ener-D Reactor didn't vanish from the history. Therefore, they had a new objective to change history, and that was to erase New Domino City.
Jakob told us we had to reach the finals of the World Racing Grand Prix to find out the rest. He added the Three Emperors were going to participate in the final rounds. Around the time he said that, a new stone tablet appeared from the space and almost crashed into the ocean. Jakob used his powers to stop the stone tablet and transformed it into a card before he opened his abdomen to activate a Duel Disk, revealing he was an android, so I assumed Lester was also an android.
Jakob introduced us to Meklord Emperor Granel, but he didn't use it to attack us. He spared us this time with the promise that the Three Emperors of Iliaster were going to defeat us in the Grand Prix. With that said, the group left to make preparations for their next appearance.
It was a little too much to comprehend at once, but what I knew was we had to keep fighting in the Grand Prix to get all the answers to our questions. One thing that had upset me a little bit was Lester claimed I was carrying a curse because of the Zero Reverse of the Old Ener-D Reactor my father built years ago. It was true I still suffered by nightmares of Zero Reverse and thought I was carrying my father's sins.
Dark Glass was ready to leave, but I stopped him. "You knew that I could perform an Accel Synchro. The Meklord Emperors that absorb Synchros… Synchros evolve to become Accel Synchro Monsters. I got my card from that same stone tablet. How did you know all this?"
"That, I don't know", Dark Glass answered. "What I did know is that you would one day perform an Accel Synchro. If it's possible, think of the one person who gave you that power." I had a feeling he was talking about the man in the machine I saw before. "If you call him 'the God of Destiny', then he would have been lost. His way forward…"
"The God of Destiny?" I repeated.
"You're the one that can follow that path, Yusei", Dark Glass added. "With your new power, Shooting Star Dragon." He turned his Duel Runner around, but stayed for a few seconds to say one last thing. "I brought your friend to the hospital where another friend of yours is there helping the doctors and nurses, so she's in a safe place."
That was the last thing he said before he drove away, leaving us with more questions than answers, just like the Three Emperors of Iliaster.
"So… We've got to keep fighting in the Grand Prix to defeat Iliaster?" Crow spoke up, breaking the awkward silence.
"Apparently", I nodded. "How's your shoulder, Crow?"
"It's still bad, but I couldn't stay behind while sensing your pain, Yusei", Crow replied.
"Same here", Jack nodded. "But… What happened to Estelle? Did Primo hurt her badly?"
"Dark Glass and I arrived just in time to witness Primo striking her on the head", I nodded before hurrying to my Runner. "I've got to see her right away."
"And we're going with you!" Crow grinned before he yelped by the pain from his shoulder.
"Careful, Crow", Jack told him before heading to his Runner.
I didn't take time to wait for my foster brothers, so I drove ahead to the hospital to see if Estelle was doing after her ordeal.
