Warnings : murder, blood, violence, injuries, body dysmorphia, anger issues

It has been a few months now since the first call. Genji was now fully recovered from the injury, and things went back to normal.

At least, almost.

Since the burst of jealousy, things have… Changed, between him and Mockingbird. He couldn't explain how, nor why, but the cyborg thought it had become better between them. The two of them were more relaxed in the presence of the other.

It was nice.

It really was, to feel like you can count on someone else.

He felt like he was gonna need it. A gut feeling, if you will.

Today was a particular day for him.

It was time for Blackwatch to strike the Shimada clan, and to tear them apart.

Genji had never been so ready. He was on the way to the briefing room, where Gabriel will explain the plan of action.

He honestly didn't need one. He wanted his revenge, the one he deserved. But he went there anyway, more out of obligation than anything else. He wondered if Mockingbird would be at the meeting, too.

He was the last one to arrive, he noticed. And the icon of the informant was on the screen. Good.

"Now that you're all here, we can begin the briefing," Gabe said as he was sitting down.

He listened to the plan of action with only one ear. He couldn't wait for the mission. Finally, he could pay back tenfold what was done to him. He was never this ready.

The meeting dragged on for too long in the cyborg's opinion, but he didn't express his impatience. 'Soon' he thought, 'Soon you'll get what you desperately want. Just a bit more patience.'

He felt his phone buzzing during the meeting.

Mockingbird

You're awfully quiet

I'd expect you to be more like

Active ?

Is everything ok ?

Genji

Never better.

He quickly typed, then looked up as if nothing was happening.

Mockingbird

Is this genuine or…

Genji

I'm being genuine.

I've been waiting for this mission since it feels like forever.

There was a pause in the conversation, and he perked up, observing the room. Everyone was looking at the screen.

"I have a bad feeling about this. Be careful, ok ?"

Genji let out a frustrated groan. Of course, he had to have a bad feeling about this. Last time, they barely escaped certain failure. He won't let this gut feeling be true, he promised.

He'll kill every single one of them, if he had to. No one could keep him away from who he once called his brother.

"We'll keep this in mind. Thank you for the warning." Acknowledged the commander. "Dismissed." Everyone got up, the call ended and they were going out. His boss called out to him, and the ninja stopped in his tracks. "I know how you feel about this mission. Stay level headed, or you'll get yourself killed. Or someone on the team." Reyes warned.

"I won't fail the mission, Commander." He stated coldly, glaring daggers at his interlocutor.

"Good. You can go." Genji 'tsk'ed, very annoyed as he left the room.

Who exactly did Gabriel think he was ? He literally joined Blackwatch because he wanted his revenge (also because he had no choice but to join.) He won't fuck up.

Soon enough, it was time for the mission.

Genji couldn't sit still during all of the travel, always fidgeting.

"Could you sit still ?" Questioned Moira. She seemed annoyed, good. His only answer was a glare. The cyborg hoped she got the hint.

And hint she got. She avoided his eyes and said nothing more for the entire trip.

There was some idle chatter that he didn't take part in and instead opted to put himself in the right headspace. Quick and deadly, like the weapon he now was. This was going to be a quick and satisfying mission.

Where was he?

Where.

Was.

Hanzo.

To say that Genji was enraged was the biggest understatement he ever heard. He was livid.

"Where is Hanzo Shimada." He hissed at the yakuza, who was barely staying alive. Weakling.

"I-I don't know ! He betrayed the clan and left !"

He left ?

A chuckle, which turned into a laugh. Couldn't face his own mistakes like a grown-up, huh ? The coward had simply left because he couldn't bear the responsibilities. He laughed some more. It was funny, in some way. But only in some.

The laugh died in his throat.

"Thanks for nothing." A quick slash was enough. The ninja didn't pay any mind to the blood on his blade. The clan was now no use for him, the object of his desires nowhere in sight. He was probably very far away now.

That made him grit his teeth, fist clenching and unclenching.

He needed to let this anger out.

Genji went out of position, barely hearing the cries of indignation of his teammates. Then he made a run for the first yakuza in sight, killing them before they could react.

Then the second.

And the third.

By that time, the alert was sent, and Blackwatch was fighting for their lives.

The Shimada didn't care, though. He needed this.

He kept on killing, growing more and more frustrated over the fact that it didn't make him feel better.

Someone called out to him.

He continued to kill.

The same voice, stronger now, tried again.

Genji slowed down a bit.

"Kitten ? Please answer me." Mockingbird. He sounded worried, begging for an answer.

He stopped in his movement, which cost him to get injured. He groaned in pain. He quickly ended the life of his opponent, diving into cover.

"Are you ok ?" He didn't know how to answer. The man looked at himself, he was covered in blood. Only a little was his, though. "Kitten ?"

"I'm… Ok." He mumbled, looking around him. The battle was almost over, and practically no survivors were left.

"What happened ?"

"He's not here." He hissed, feeling his anger coming back.

"Who's he ?"

"My brother. Hanzo Shimada."

"Oh." That was the only answer he received. He thought for a moment.

"Tell me where he is." He barked out.

"Excuse me ?"

"You're an informant. You know people. Find him and tell me where he is."

There was a pause. A long one at that.

Long enough for the commander to call retreat.

The flight here was long and dead silent. Even Mockingbird wasn't talking. The silence from the intel provider bothered him.

They arrived and got patched up. Genji was still angry, frustrated, and another emotion that he couldn't pinpoint.

When he arrived in his room, he felt his phone vibrating. The informant was calling him, which surprised the agent. He answered, his tone aggressive.

"Did you find him ?"

"Do you wanna talk about it or ?..."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Neither did you."

"I asked way before."

Silence fell between the two. It was tense like the one was testing the other. Judging the situation and deciding the best course of action for their interest.

"I didn't, and won't search for him. And if I do find out, I won't tell you."

Genji saw red.

"Excuse me ?" he shouted, livid.

"You heard me."

"Didn't you tell me that I could ask you if I needed info ?"

"Kitten, I won't help you with that. Anything else but that."

"Do not. Call me. Kitten."

Another moment where nobody talked. The cyborg was pacing around the room, trembling with rage.

"Why are you so obsessed with him ?" Mockingbird softly asked.

"Because he is responsible for how I look !" He barked, throat tightening.

"What do you mean ?"

"We had a fight. It escalated into a real one, and he almost killed me. Left me for dead before Overwatch found me." He was fuming. He thought he could trust King ! "Now look at me. There's nothing human in me anymore. I'm a pathetic excuse of a man."

"You act pretty human to me, ki-Genji."

He didn't want to hear it.

"I just…" He had to take a break, taking a shaky breath, "I hate what I've become, King." He murmured, stopping in his tracks.

"I get that. I also hate how I look, y'know ?"

"You wouldn't understand. I don't have half of my body. I was in a coma for I don't know how long, Angela had to bring me back from the dead." His voice became shaky, "You don't know the pain I was in. Still am." A sob escaped his lips.

"I wish I could hug you right now, Genji." The tone was yearning and soft. He grew to like the particular voice that Mockingbird had.

He hugged himself instead, falling to his knees. He choked out some other soft sobs, his body shaking.

"I'm here for you Genji. Right next to you." He wished he was closer. "It's ok, you can let it out. You're safe with me."

And Genji did. He stayed on the call, crying his eyes out. Screaming his frustration. The informant stayed by his side, reassuring him gently.

"Can you… Call me kitten, again ?" He hated how vulnerable he sounded. Voice cracking, barely above a whisper. His voice was almost begging.

"Of course, kitten." The man replied softly to him, in a caring tone.
