The next morning, you woke up feeling a bit bad from lashing out at Yuji last night. You attacked him with your personal feelings which built up for the last 10 years. You knew very well you shouldn't have compared your upbringing to his because they're two different situations. You were born into it while he chose it. However, you don't really regret telling him those words. Yet then again, you knew you came off heartless and you should've told him with a different tone instead of sounding very angry like a dog with rabies.
"Ah…" You huffed, straightening out your dark grey pleated skirt. "I have too much pride to apologize." For your whole life, you never once apologized to anyone because first, you never had friends and second, you always liked to point out the flaws of the doer. It's a bad trait you have and you can't help it. No one really tried to stand against you, and even if they did, you never backed down from their fight. "And besides, it'll make him rethink about his life and why he's doing what he's doing."
You quickly rushed to the kitchen and saw Yuji cooking like usual, but this time… He was dressed in a uniform from your school.
So Satoru managed to pull this off in less than 24 hours. I'm not surprised. He looked nice in our all dark grey uniform. You thought to yourself, unaware you were checking him out as your eyes scanned his new appearance from head to toe.
"...n...y/n… Y/N!"
You blinked in your spot as Yuji stared directly in your face with a confused expression. Both of your faces were only centimeters apart from touching. This scared you, causing you to jump away as your face flushed. You couldn't understand why he had to be so close if he could've tapped you.
"W-what is it?" You quickly backed to the wall with your arms and legs spread out as if you're trying to be slick and spy on someone. But in reality, you didn't know how to react to his closeness so you gave yourself space from him.
Yuji snickered under his breath from how hilarious you were acting. He found it a bit odd but cute. It made sense in his head that you didn't have any type of social skills. Composing himself, he didn't want to tick you off so he cut to the chase and spoke, "Come on! Let's go to your school!" He enthusiastically said, pushing you out the kitchen.
Your stomach growled at the right time because you didn't want to go to school early. Fuck that shit. You had no reason to walk around aimlessly until homeroom started. Not only that, club representatives are going to ask you to join their club when you specifically wrote that your 'club' was the 'go home' club. You had no desire to stay longer if you could go home and be lazy.
"Oh, I'm hungry so—"
Yuji refused to listen to her complaints and took her out of the house without any delay. "Y/n, I have to arrive early so I can be toured and informed!" Yuji was excited to live a secret life while he's still pronounced dead. He can finally be a 'normal' kid for the time being until Gojo picks him up.
Then you slumped your shoulders down, feeling regretful that you even asked Gojo to transfer Yuji to your school.
Maybe it was best if he stayed home to make food… You sighed to yourself.
On the way to school, you and Yuji were on the train. Yuji's hand gripped the hanging handle while you secured your hand around his bicep. It was the only one since the train was packed and the handles were all taken except one. You and Yuji quickly debated, and in the end you won, resulting in him getting the handle.
While the train moved to your destination, you couldn't help but feel amazed how built he was. His bicep was as hard as a rock. You didn't want to squeeze it because you weren't a weirdo, but it really made you wonder how fit he was. In the house, you don't see him train. Normally, he's cooking or cleaning and sometimes watching tv but that's mainly it.
"Aren't you going to lose muscle if you don't train your body?" You asked out of nowhere as he looked down at you for a few seconds before staring up to the ceiling.
"Umm, I should but I don't want to right now. It's not going to ruin my body since I'm naturally athletic and strong so yeah." Yuji honestly spoke as he shrugged his shoulders. It didn't bother him because he's confident with his ability. "Oh, by the way… What school do you go to?"
"Satozakura High School," You rolled your eyes as you snorted. You hated that school. The teacher there could care less about anyone's education. As long as they get paid for 'teaching' then they're good. You honestly believed all the teachers there should get their teaching license revoked. "It's a shitty school with shitty teachers and students. You're going to hate it."
"Well that's because you're so pessimistic about everything," Yuji quietly mumbled, thinking you didn't catch it but you did; however, you didn't comment because it's true. There's no way you can see things in a positive way when your life is filled with negative things. "I'll see for myself!"
"Oh okay… don't say I didn't warn you though!" You absolutely knew he was going to hate it. Everyone in that school is faking it to make it.
Once you both got there, you took Yuji to the office where one of the staff began telling him about the school and so forth.
You dug your ear with your pinky as you walked away, letting the staff handle everything. "I hate this school…" you murmured, thinking about transferring. There's no use in staying if you really hated it.
Until homeroom started, you were out in the courtyard chilling by yourself. However, your alone time was spoiled by people you hated in the school—'pretty' boy Ito Shota. He's very popular amongst the students and teachers. He can get away with anything because of his good reputation. Even if he's your senior, he has no shame in hooking up with first years. You knew very well he had a dark side. You can sense it from the fake vibe he gave off.
"Oh y/n, I didn't know you were out here!"
Mhmmm, for sure he didn't know. He practically follows my every move in this school. What a fucking stalker. You said to yourself.
Because of his endless pestering, girls came to despite you which you could care less because you know you're powerful enough to kill them—from a sorcerer perspective. Additionally, boys only chased after you due to your looks and body. Everything happened because Shota decided to target you as his next victim. You hated their nasty stares and catcalling, so you do find ways to serve their karma.
You clicked your tongue, not caring if he sees your true face. You already knew he's the type of guy who will chase regardless of how many times you reject him or act mean. In his head, you're just playing hard to get. "Go find someone else to bother. I don't like you." You bluntly said, gathering up your spit before shooting it at his shoe.
SPEW!
There was an irked expression visible on his face. It looked like he wanted to grab your face and make sure you knew who was in command, but it was never going to happen. You will never bow down to a man like him.
"Aren't you...cute…?" Shota's voice was strained by holding himself back from saying things which will cause a downfall of what he built between you and him. "Why don't we have lunch—" He tried to swing and arm around your shoulder, but you quickly dodge as you backed away from him. "—together?" A tense smile pulled his lips as his eyes were staring daggers. He was mad that you avoided his touch. Most girls in the school would want to be in his arms except you.
You brushed off his germs on your shoulders and arms, showing how petty you are. "Sorry, you're going to have to make a reservation for that because…"
You heard fast footsteps rushing over to you, and you knew who it was. You were glad that he came just in time. "Y/nnnnnnnnnn!" Yuji yelled, feeling relieved that he found you. How could the only person he knows disappear from school grounds? Especially when you dragged him here.
A devious grin plastered on your face. You were definitely going to use Yuji as your excuse.
When Yuji got closer to you, you threw yourself on to him and pulled him into a hug. Your arms wrapped around his torso, feeling how muscular he truly was under two layers of clothes. This caused your heart to skip a beat as your face felt hot, but you told yourself to snap out of it.
Immediately, Yuji stiffened up. It's like he turned into a block of ice. He knew you weren't affectionate, and it confused him why you acted like this. He didn't want to die. Then you whispered in his ear. "Play along or else I'll kick you to the streets." You threatened, staring in his eyes as if you're begging for his help.
Yuji gulped as he subtly nodded.
So you whipped your head in Shota's direction and smirked, wanting him to crumble down after his hard attempts to woo your heart. "This is my boyfriend. After much convincing, he finally transferred to our school! That's why I've been rejecting your offer because I'm a loyal girlfriend." You pressed yourself even closer to Yuji to ensure that Shota got the hint.
While you were putting up an act, Yuji couldn't help but feel his soul die in his body. Not to mention, you were pressing your breast to his chest which made his ear catch on fire.
I swear I'm not a closet pervert, but she's too close. I can feel everything. Come on, Yuji… Clean thoughts, clean thoughts! Or else she'll kill me if she sees how red my ears are. Yuji prayed to himself as he tried his best to ignore what's happening. Surviving was his only option. He can't slip up.
"If you'll excuse us, my boyfriend and I have somewhere to be."
When you and Yuji left the courtyard, Shota clenched his fist in anger as he murmured to himself. "Hah…! Did she really think I would fall for a cheap trick?! I bet that whore gave him money or herself so he can pretend to be her boyfriend! I'll make sure he's gone from her life!" He began stirring up some plans.
"Ugh, fucking bastard!" You grumbled, scratching your head as you wanted to strangle Shota. "He doesn't know when to stop." You explained your position in school so he understood what you deal with on a daily basis. It's not easy to be invisible when boys are trying to get under your skirt while girls are bitching at you. Even with those obstacles, there has been talk about you but you simply ignored it since it's only lies upon lies. You find it quite entertaining how much people like to put your name into their mouth.
"Yuji, you're going to play as my fake boyfriend until Satoru takes you back. I gotta get some people off my ass…" You rolled your eyes as you both walked inside the school. "I trust you can play the part well?"
Yuji nodded because he had no other choices. "I can't say no since it's you." He nervously chuckled, feeling sweat forming at the back of his neck. "What should I do as your fake boyfriend?" He whispered so no one else could hear.
"Uh… Like any boyfriend would do?"
"Be specific."
"Well, I can't because I've never had one! What do boyfriends and girlfriends do?!"
"They…" Yuji listed off what he's seen on shows and movies, causing you to cringe at the unrealisticness of it. At the end, you and Yuji were both clueless of how a romantic relationship works.
You sighed, quickly coming up with a simple solution. "Okay, first off, people will be suspicious of you because I brought you in out of nowhere. If they try to test you about me, just ruffle their feathers because they don't know anything about me either! If they try to fight you, you can handle that but always report it to me. Call me any nicknames couples would say to each other, hold my hands when we're at school, always stick by me, and never be nice to girls in our school. They will twist shit up!" You laid down the solid work and Yuji agreed but with one condition.
"Y/n, if I'm going to do that, I'm going to need you to open up to me too! We can't look distant or awkward with each other. You're going to have to get comfortable with me."
"Yes, of course. I'll do my best to make this feel authentic."
Then Yuji stopped in his tracks as you also halted. This made you confused, wondering what he was doing. Without delay, Yuji stuck out his hand to you like a true gentleman he was. "Why don't I take you to your homeroom?" There was an amiable smile painted on his upbeat face.
Seeing his act made your heart skip a beat. Mainly because you never encountered this in your isolated life but frankly, it's refreshing and it made you feel special. Genuinely smiling back at him, you took his warm and callus hand. "It's going to be me who's taking you to your room. You don't even know the school's layout." You chuckled, making a bold statement in the hallways as eyes were on the both of you.
Students were whispering to each other of who was right next to you. You hope this stopped students from bothering you now that you have Yuji to block them.
It really sucked how you and Yuji weren't in the same homeroom but it is what it is. You had no power to change him into your class. Nonetheless, you believed Yuji will be just fine. But you do know that he will discover ugly parts of the school.
As you and Yuji arrived at your homeroom, you spotted small gifts on your desk and you knew they were from boys who had a crush on you. If you had laser eyes, you would totally burn them in an instant. The gifts disguised you because you never seeked anyone's love or attention. All you wanted to do was be alone, but no one ever listens to you anyways. The gifts can range from anything: love notes to extravagant items which makes you very uncomfortable.
You discreetly whispered to Yuji, "Say 'where's your desk? Why's there things on it?' I'm going to stir the class up." By doing this, the whole class will know your relationship status with Yuji and probably back off.
"Where's your desk, babe?"
You internally gagged from the word 'babe'. It sounded too odd coming from Yuji's mouth, but you had to get used to it since he's going to be saying that for a while.
"Over there," You guys made your way to your desk while everyone's eyes were on you and Yuji.
Yuji felt the pressure but was calm about it. He really didn't understand why you were popular too even after explaining. Yet it did sicken him that they weren't interested in you as a person but your body and pretty face.
When you guys were at your desk, he followed the words you told him. "Why's there gifts on your desk?!" Yuji shot you a concerning look as he picked one of them up and crushed a small paper box in his large hand. A fiery yet maddened look took over his worried state. "Babe," Yuji grabbed your shoulders and pulled you close in his arms. His sudden action caused your eyes to widen from his acting. "Is that why you told me to transfer? Babe, I'm so sorry that I didn't come sooner." He stroked your hair, pretending to feel sorry and regretful. "Will you forgive me?" His hand tucked your hair behind your right ear.
You dryly gulped from how great Yuji was pulling this off. You blinked a couple of times before replying. "Of course!" You grabbed his hand in yours and placed it on your left cheek where he could feel your warmth radiating from the stares of everyone. "As long as I have you, I don't need to worry about anything else." You shined him a bubbly smile which quickened Yuji's heart behind his rib cage.
Wow, she looks pretty when she smiles. It'd be nice if she did smile and was more open. Yuji thought to himself.
"Don't worry, I'll be here." Yuji took all your gifts and threw them in the trash can right by the door before leaving for his homeroom. "Bye! I'll see you later! I…" He looked over his shoulder, blurting out these words that will shake your heart and soul. "I love you!"
Immediately, you turned red as you covered your face. Since you were acting up, you flicked your wrist to make him go away. You felt so weirded out by hearing him say that. Of course it's part of the act, but you didn't expect him to spit out the L word. You didn't know how to control yourself and your fast heart beats banging against your chest. Your ears and cheeks felt so hot. You knew you were going to go crazy sooner or later.
After Yuji left, your classmates bombarded you with so many questions about your 'boyfriend'. There were many jealous eyes locking on your frame, yet you could be less concerned because this was the first stage of backing boys and girls off your ass.
Meanwhile with Yuji…
Yuji was walking back to his homeroom which he remembered. He too was fretting underneath his skin about what he said to you. He couldn't believe he said the L word too, but it was the only way to make the relationship look real as possible. Yuji thought back to your reaction.
Did she turn red on purpose? Or did I scare her? I mean, I also scared myself too. I was pretty hesitant about saying 'I love you'. But it means nothing between us, so I shouldn't be thinking too much about it and feeling embarrassed. Yuji reassured himself the best he could.
"Hey you," someone called out to Yuji before he could make it to his classroom.
Yuji whipped around, wondering who it could be. "My name is Yuji Itadori, not 'you'." He corrected the guy who talked to y/n in the courtyard. Yuji didn't know his name, but he was well aware that he's going to be a big threat in the future so his guard was up.
Shota scoffed, rolling his eyes in dismay. "I don't care what your name is! But you can stop acting like you're y/n's boyfriend." He closed the gap between him and Yuji as he wanted to intimidate the poor transfer student. Shota wanted Yuji to succumb in fear like most of the students he bullied and controlled.
However, Yuji wasn't going to allow that to happen. He stood his ground against the older classman. "Who said I was acting? Because I'm not. I truly love and care for my girlfriend. You need to stop harassing y/n."
"You're going to regret messing what belongs to me,"
This irked Yuji's soul. He didn't like how you were an object in this school. Gritting his teeth, he flashed him a fearsome expression as he resembled a lion ready to attack its prey. "You better watch what you say about y/n!" He growled.
After that encounter, Yuji had a hard time concentrating in class. Everyone's eyes were fixated on him. He knew it was curiosity mixed with envy. He didn't feel very welcomed. It made him uncomfortable as their quiet comments stabbed his back.
"How did f/n get him?"
"I'm pretty sure she spread her legs or something."
"He's not all that. What does she see in him? I'm totally better. She should've gone for me."
Once lunchtime had arrived, you picked Yuji up from his class and made your way to the rooftop where you usually ate at.
You wrapped your arm around Yuji's waist as you pulled him to you. "What's wrong? You look so bothered." You asked, clearly seeing how visibly agitated he was growing by the second. Ever since you picked him up, Yuji has lost his natural glow. You really wondered what went down in his classroom.
Yuji bit his lips, hating what he has to tell you. "Why does everyone talk poorly about you as if you're a celebrity? It disgusts me, and you go through this every day? How can you?"
You could hear how distraught he was as if this has never happened in his school before. All you could do was laugh at it because you don't have the power to control everyone. "It's all because of Shota. Ever since he's been targeting me at the beginning of the school year, all boys and girls jumped in. It's rarely bullying but more like sexual harassment. There's nothing much I can do because teachers suck at their jobs, and I can't change the minds of others." You honestly spoke as your heart twinged in pain. You just wanted a quiet school life before you were forced into the jujutsu society, but it seemed like fate wanted to make your life harder than it already was. "It doesn't really bother me because I can handle it. I do fight back and make their life miserable. Maybe sooner or later I'll transfer because I hate everyone here." You laughed, trying to lighten up the heavy mood despite feeling Yuji's distressed eyes on you.
You didn't want his pity so you changed the subject. "Hurry up! I'm starving!" You jabbed him as you both made your way to the rooftop to eat.
Later, lunch was about to end and you and Yuji walked hand in hand in the hallway, catching everyone's attention again. It annoyed you the most that people couldn't whisper. You couldn't tell if they were doing it on purpose or not, but it made you want to sock their faces.
"You know you should be more honest about your feelings."
"Ughh, I know that."
"You also should smile more too!"
You felt like Yuji was just attacking the flaws you have: you weren't sociable, outgoing, optimistic, or friendly—basically not a female version of Yuji.
"Geez, I'm not Jennifer Lawrence." You muttered, glaring at him.
"I never said you were. Only you said that…" Suddenly, Yuji stopped in his tracks as his words died out of nowhere.
You were very confused why he stopped because you two were the only people in the empty hallway. There's no one here to grab his attention. It wasn't until you noticed his head facing a wide window to the back of the school. His brown eyes locked at a few figures bullying a helpless guy. Although you didn't know Yuji for a long time, you knew he had the heart and morals of a hero. He will do anything to prevent the evil from rising because innocent lives matter. You even think he'll sacrifice his own life for others if he has to.
The bullied guy was frightened, trying his best to hold his ground but couldn't since there were 2 males picking on him. You pity the guy, but there's nothing you could do because it's school grounds. These staff will find ways not to get involved since it's going to be too much on their plate. There's basically no justice.
"What are you going to do?" You asked Yuji, observing how his aura quickly changed. You told him before that your school was shitty, and now you bet he believed you. You wouldn't lie to him about that. You wanted to make sure Yuji knew what he was getting into.
A fiery tension sprouted from his body as his eyes narrowed in disdain. He was fuelled with so much loathe that he began storming before you could run after him.
Damn! Why's he so fast?! He could've at least told me that he was going to break up the fight or something… You mentally said to yourself, chasing after Yuji.
You didn't want him to be suspended or expelled on the first day of school. You had no choice but to watch over him and make sure it doesn't escalate. When you passed by a classroom, across from the large window, you assumed it was empty but you were dead wrong. There was a teacher inside clearly witnessing someone getting bullied yet they chose not to do anything. This shouldn't anger you but it did. They're letting someone's mental health worsen because they chose to be a bystander.
"That fucker!" You slammed open the door, revealing the cowardice teacher being a bystander in the bullying case. "Well, well… I guess your students mean nothing to you as long as you get paid. You should be fired because you act like you're blind." You were trying your best to hold down your venomous tongue. You wanted to cuss at the teacher until they retaliated, but it's also no use too when they can twist shit up to the headmaster. "I wish I could lecture you how to be an adult, sensei—wait I shouldn't even call you that! Because you aren't one in my eyes. But I hope whatever happens next to that poor boy's life, it will haunt you until you're put in your casket."
You harshly slammed the door shut before rushing to Yuji's side.
Less than a second, you met Yuji in the back as he stood in front of the guy. Luckily he wasn't harmed, but he does seem defeated and tired.
"Hey new kid, you better back off!" Boy A threatened, standing up against Yuji who showed no fear.
"No! If you're going to bully him, you're going to have to pass me!" Yuji barked back, clenching his fists as he was ready to start a fight.
The tension between Yuji and boy A was big. None of them wanted to back down from pride and honor. You threw your head back as you huffed loudly, already knowing how you were going to deal with this situation.
"I'm going to crush you and make sure you regret it," boy A said, and you popped off.
"Shut up!" You pushed boy A away from Yuji as you defended him and the bullied guy. You were going to be their guardian angel. "You're not getting anywhere near my boyfriend and that guy, you fucking scumbags."
"Or what?" Boy A hissed. He doesn't fear you because you're a girl. He sees you as weak in his eyes.
But before you could do anything, the teacher you berated broke up the tense fight and made everyone go inside the building. The teacher let you guys off with a warning, but they knew you could put their position in deep water if they were to send you to the headmaster's office.
You and Yuji took the boy to the nurse's office as he was being treated.
"Sorry for being hasty, but I couldn't just let—" Yuji tried to apologize for his action, but you knew very well why he did it. You didn't want to hear the explanation when it's already self explanatory. Yuji has a good yet weak heart. You know his weak heart is going to be the end of him if he doesn't learn how to keep his emotions in check.
"I don't want to hear it," you bluntly said. "Do whatever makes you feel comfortable, but I don't want you to get expelled for being careless." You flicked his head, imbuing cursed energy.
"Ouch!" Yuji winced from the harsh impact. "That really hurts!"
"Oh? Is that so? I thought you fought harder curses than this flick?"
You and Yuji bickered back and forth until the boy came out to greet you guys.
"Thanks for saving me out there…" his black long shaggy hair covered half his face as he thanked you both. He was very timid and broken. You knew very well that he's mentally and emotionally damaged.
"Of course! I wouldn't let it slide…" Yuji engaged in a long conversation with the boy as they laughed and smiled brightly to one another. "Oh, I'm Yuji Itadori and this is my girlfriend, f/n l/n!" He gestured to you and you simply nodded in response.
"I'm Junpei Yoshino. It's a pleasure to be your acquaintance!"
After school has ended, you forced Yuji to go home without you. You made up some excuses for him to be convinced. His main reason for wanting to stay was because of the boys at school, but you assured him that nothing was going to happen.
"Yuji, your job is to cook and clean at home! So I expect that from you. Now go home!" You shooed him away.
When Yuji was out of your sight, you searched for the two boys who bullied Junpei. You already knew that the boys will bully Junpei again and Yuji will definitely fight them. There's no way Yuji will let Junpei be alone after saving and meeting him. This was a precautionary measure to ensure his reputation will be safe. You didn't want anything to happen to Yuji until he was forced to go by Gojo.
"Hey, you two bastards." You called out to them in a dark alley where they were walking home from school.
Your shadow loomed over their figures as they didn't see you as a big threat rather those rumors people called you.
"Oh, if it isn't Shota's little whore. Did you come here to play with us?" Boy B snickered, stopping in his tracks to face your pretty angry face. "I bet it excites you to sleep with all the boys at school,"
A tick mark appeared on your forehead. You knew these rumors were filled with lies by others, but you always restrained yourself since you're at school. Yet it's not the case right now because you're out of school grounds. As your blood boiled in pure rage and disgust, you were going to make sure they didn't come out in one piece.
"Oh yeah, it totally excites me." You snickered sinisterly as you cracked your fingers. Your eyes darkened from what you're about to do. "But you know what's also exciting?" You smirked at the two boys. "Making sure you don't come out of this in one piece."
The boys were perplexed by your words. They couldn't tell whether you were joking or not, but they didn't fear you since you were just a harmless girl who only talks big.
Then boy A spoke, laughing as he didn't take it too seriously. "Dude, do you hear her—"
You slid forward and threw an uppercut at boy A's jaw, knocking him off his feet. "No one will ever believe you if you said I beat you up." You grabbed boy A's by the wrist and dislocated his arm in a snap.
"AHHHH!" He screamed in agony.
"I'm just Shota's little whore right?!" You insanely chuckled, feeling your body filled with adrenaline. Never in your life have you beaten someone up to protect someone else. You really could care less about other people as you minded your own business; however, that's not the case for you. You needed Yuji for school as much as he needed you for shelter. "I'm just a little whore who spreads her legs, not one who beats up people. No one will ever believe you… Am I harmless now? Mess with Junpei again, I will end your life without hesitation."
The sun went down as screams filled the air. You made sure to break every bone in their body but keep them alive.
a/n: I tested out writing 'you' for the first time, and I think it's not too bad. I might stick with using 'you' unless I change it later
