It was the weekend and you had to go grocery shopping since Yuji cooks in the house. He used all the ingredients you had left to make breakfast. He knew how much you loved his cooking even though you don't say it. He can read it off from your joyful expression every time you take a huge bite from your food. It amazes him how your body shutters in bliss as you chomp at your plate.

"Y/n, is it okay for me to leave the house?" Yuji asked, not wanting to cause problems for you since he's your responsibility. He looked eager to go outside; he's been holed up for awhile so you wanted him to get some fresh air before he couldn't anymore. After all, he's no longer attending your shitty school which means he'll be at home 24/7.

You finished your meal as you pounded your chest for the food to glide down your throat before speaking. "Yeah, you just gotta wear a disguise." You simply shrugged. "Hurry up before the store gets busy!"

You hated when stores were busy at certain hours of the day. All you wanted was to shop fast and go home. You avoided leaving the house unless you had to. But most of the time, you were at home chilling unless Gojo dragged you out by the legs.

After breakfast, you and Yuji walked under the blazing sun. You were literally dying as you felt your skin sizzling. You knew you were going to get sunburn because you didn't put on sunscreen. You're only increasing your chance of skin cancer.

"I should've brought an umbrella…." You groaned, moving yourself to the shades when there's an opportunity to strike.

"So what do we need?" Yuji turned to you as you gave him a blank expression. How were you supposed to know when he's the one cooking in the house? You don't touch the fridge unless you're snacking on something as easy as yogurt or fruits, but other than that, you don't want to get near it.

"Uhhh, why're you asking me? I'm never in the kitchen unless it's time to eat."

"Okay, let me phrase it like this… What do you want to eat?"

You only smiled back at him, "anything you cook. I'm not picky as long as it's your cooking!"

Yuji wasn't pleased by your answer but he knew it was whatever. You'll eat whatever he cooked. He's satisfied if you're satisfied, that's all he can ask for. But what's also great was you smiling. Yuji knows how rare your smile is. Typically, a smile doesn't occur unless it's forced, you're in an awkward position, or it's his cooking. He loves your smile. It makes you look like a different person.

"You know, I feel like we've grown kind of close!" Yuji spoke out of nowhere, drastically changing the topic.

Your smile turned into an awkward one as it was tense. "Ehh, I suppose."

"What do you mean 'I suppose'?!" Yuji gasped, not seeing what you're seeing. He really and truly believed you and him got closer after many passing days of living under one roof.

"I only say that because I'm forced to see and talk to you everyday. But I actually don't mind it,"

Yuji released a heavy sigh, feeling a bit relieved that you didn't hate him for barging into your life. Half was Gojo's doing for letting you take his responsibility as the other half was Yuji getting killed on his mission for being inexperienced.

"At least I'm talking to someone instead of myself. It does feel good to socialize once in a while." You can only blame this on yourself. You forced yourself into isolation after losing your parents. Your heart just didn't want to let people in if human life was so easily taken. It was better to be alone so your heart wouldn't ache at all. However, meeting Yuji felt so refreshing and new. You didn't hate it, you were getting used to the new normal. "Being lonely can take a toll on your sanity too!" You sadly joke, covering up your true feelings through a facade.

Sometimes you release your deep and sad thoughts into jokes to get it off your mind. A small part of you does want the listener to ask if you were okay, but you knew you'd automatically push them away regardless. You hate being vulnerable and talking about your emotions. If you could be a robot, you would totally be one to avoid all human emotions.

Your loneliness was a real monster. It did hurt you. You wished you weren't abandoned by your parents. Of course they didn't choose to leave you, death chose to get them before old age could. You were only just a child when this happened. If only you had the ability to reverse time, you would make sure that you were never born. Having you alive would still cause them to die because you're Kameko's descendant with her power passed down to you—the chosen one.

I wonder what's going on in her head? She looks so sad. She never shows this kind of emotion in front of me. Is she okay? Should I ask? What if she explodes on me?

Yuji noticed your quietness as he observed you. It worried him since you're never like this. He could tell you were in deep thoughts after you talked about your loneliness. His heart tugged, seeing you in such a sad mood. Yuji didn't have to be a genius to see that being alone took a toll on you. He doesn't know what you've been through, but he wants to be a good friend to help you through it. Your relaxed yet droopy eyes and mouth hurts him more than he knew it. Yuji truly didn't know your struggles except your treatment at school as he recalled Gojo saying that your heart was delicate. It bothered him so much, it caused him to muster up the courage to ask if you were good.

"Hey y/n, are you okay? You look troubled. Is it because—"

You quickly punched his shoulder, stopping him from saying anything further. You didn't want to hear it despite being the one who said it in the first place. You needed to stop being scared and a hypocrite. "Enough blabbering! I'm dying outside. Let's hurry up!" You rushed him, concealing your heart from your sleeve.

Observing how you quickly acted to cover up the topic, this made Yuji really curious about you. He really doesn't want you to suffer if you're going through something. He wanted to be there to lift the heaviness out of your heart. Yuji wants to help, but he also doesn't want to force you either. He'll see how far the friendship and trust goes in order for you to open up to him. For now, he'll let it slide.

"Right, right! Before you get cranky and sluggish!"

In the grocery store, you pushed the cart as Yuji grabbed items off the shelves. Yuji tried to fight for the cart, but you obviously won since he's the one who cooks so he has to pick out the ingredients while you push aimlessly. You're there to supervise and pay.

"Are you excited to go to the jujutsu school?!" Yuji eagerly cheered on your behalf.

"No. It's a life that I didn't want so why would I be excited?"

Yuji frowned as you were back to your pessimistic mood. "Come on, y/n! You're going to meet amazing people there! Especially the first years! I'm not too sure about the second or third years but yeah." Yuji tried his best to pump enthusiasm into you as you strolled behind him.

You hunched forward as your butt stuck out while you pushed the cart. "You mean Megumi? Or Fushiguro? Whichever you call him. We're on okay terms. We don't talk unless we have to. We just nod at each other and move on with our lives."

"Oh you know Fushiguro?!" Yuji said in shock as he threw an item into the cart.

"Yeah," you nodded your head. "It's all because of Satoru. He made me and Megumi go on missions with him when we were younger. He always called me and Megumi twins since our personalities were very alike. With that being said, we both bonded over hating and making Satoru's life miserable during his missions." You chuckled to yourself as flashbacks of the past replayed in your head. You would bring up ridiculous ideas to the table in order to make Gojo's mission harder. You didn't care if you were roped up because Gojo was going to save you no matter what. Megumi never partook in it but he fueled the fire to my desire back then. "Oh the good old days…!" A small smile curled your lips.

"Why are you guys so mean to sensei? He's so cool!"

You really didn't understand how he didn't see Gojo as immature and annoying like everyone else does. Perhaps Gojo has already infected Yuji with his sickness, compelling him to be the only student who likes him.

"Uh, sure he's cool… But he's also overbearing too." You spent too much time with Gojo as a child that you had enough of him.

Then Yuji changed the topic to his second classmate, Kugisaki Nobara. "She's cool and down to earth. I don't really know her well since I 'died' too soon for us to get to know each other. But I can't wait to return when it's time!" He gleefully grinned.

"We'll see how we connect,"

Somehow, you found yourself in the snack and candy aisle without Yuji. You knew Yuji was going to be okay since he's a big kid. He can just look around the whole store to find you.

"Ooou, should I get this? Or maybe this?" In your hands, you picked out your favorite snacks. You needed them since your snack drawer was getting low. It's time to stock up now you're at the grocery store. "But I like this one more—"

Before you knew it, the items in your hands were snatched away in an instant. Your hands still held the forms of the delicious snacks. It felt so empty and lonely without holding junk food. Who could've done this to you? Who dared to play with your heart?

"Y/n, eating junk food isn't good!" It was none other than Yuji who stole it.

Of course it was him. Satoru wouldn't even be against me eating junk food because he'll join with me—that's the only time I do like him. But other than that I don't.

"But Yuji," you pleaded, pouting as your lips quivered and eyes enlarged to sway his weak heart. "I want to eat them! Can we really not eat them? Not even once?"

Yuji stood his ground, refusing as he knew eating healthy would help you. He remembered you telling him that you relied on frozen food to survive. Although it's not as bad as junk food, you still weren't receiving the nutrients you needed, and Yuji wanted to give you that.

She's really trying her best to make me give in. It's adorable how she's showing more emotions just for this. Yuji laughed to himself before sighing loudly.

"Only one snack! You gotta pick out the one you really and truly want."

You immediately frowned. You didn't like how he was talking to you as if you're a child. What right does it give him to speak to you like that? It spoiled your mood. "I'm not a child, and I'm the one who's paying this since I have money. I will choose how many I'd like!"

You dropped an armful of snacks and candies into the cart, grinning at Yuji as he knew he couldn't go against your actions or words.

After shopping, you guys went home and unpacked all the groceries you paid for with the money Gojo gave you.

Once the hard part was over, Yuji asked you the scariest question of all time…. "Why don't I teach you how to cook?"

Your heart raced in anxiety as you dramatically felt a heart attack coming up. You really didn't want to cook or even learn how to. It's too much work and effort. "Why do I need to if you're here? You're not going anywhere," you dryly chuckled, trying hard not to sound like a sociopath. It's just that you knew he wasn't going to leave the house anytime soon since Gojo would notify you ahead of time.

Yuji's brow rose up in confusion. "Um, I do have to train too. Sensei said he'll be taking me out for that here and there. But I know you love my cooking, so I'll prepare food beforehand!"

Your heart leaped in reassurance. You were glad that he's still going to make you food regardless.

He's right. I love his cooking. If he couldn't cook then we're both fucked and eating frozen food for days. You mentally laughed.

"You know, I taught Fushiguro how to make meatballs. Learning a little won't hurt you," Yuji suggested, making you look away from his direction. You knew he wanted you to cook too. "Plus, it'll make you remember the fun time we had cooking together!" Yuji smiled, shining rays of sunshine in your direction as you squinted.

He's so bright, bubbly, and positive! My eyes hurt!

Later that night, you were chilling in the living room watching tv while Yuji was busy deciding what he wanted to make for dinner.

"Hmmm," you couldn't focus on your show. Your head was occupied by the thought of Megumi cooking beside Yuji. "He taught Megumi how to cook? And he sees potential in me?" You contemplated hard about this, but you knew you shouldn't be stubborn about cooking when it's essential. "I suppose it won't hurt… it just won't taste as good as Yuji's food."

After making your final decision, you slowly crept your way into the kitchen and stuck your head through the doorway. You saw Yuji dancing around as he played music loud enough for him to hear but not disturb you since you told him you're watching tv. His hips were moving side to side, feeling the rhythm flowing in his limbs. He hummed the lyrics to the song that's playing in his little corner.

Yuji looks like a dancing octopus…! You stifled your laugh so you wouldn't scare him. He always seems to amuse you somehow. You found it heartwarming since nothing happens in your life.

"Ahem!" You interrupted his small recital.

Yuji jumped in his spot, quickly composing himself as he tried to act like nothing ever happened. However, you weren't going to forget it. It's already ingrained in your brain.

"H-hey, y/n! What's up?" He coughed out his nervousness settling in his bones.

I wonder how much she saw? And how long she stood there too? Yuji cried to himself, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"I'll take up your offer to learn how to cook."

The next thing you both knew, the stove top caught on fire because of you.

You chased out the rising smoke from the kitchen while Yuji took out the growing fire as the smoke alarm went off like crazy. It beeped loudly nonstop, increasing yours and Yuji's adrenaline. You guys were in panic mode.

Your arms were getting a workout as it started to get sore and tired, but you couldn't stop because you caused this mess.

Damn it! I knew I shouldn't have done this! Now we might be houseless!

You had so many thoughts running through your head. You did not want to stay under the same roof as Gojo or in the school dormitory. You prefer to live in this house that you were born and raised in.

Meanwhile, Yuji was sweating buckets as he finally extinguished the flame from the pot you used. Never in his life has he ever felt his heart beat crazily like this. Nothing has ever scared him as much as an accidental house fire. His fast heart hurts his chest so much that he doesn't want you to learn for a while.

In the beginning, we were all good. But how did it turn out like this? I took my eyes off of y/n for one second and then I heard her screaming which put me into fight or flight mode because it's so rare to hear anything coming out from her! Then BOOM a fire erupted and turned into this mess. Y/n worries me…

Yuji's body calmed down from the thrill of hurting his health. His hand placed over his heart, feeling it ceased little by little like a tsunami calming down from its rage.

"Oooo," Yuji breathed out as his jitters were gone. "Y/n, are you okay?" He looked over at you sitting at the dining table looking all beaten. Your cheeks were rosey while your eyes were regretful and a tiny bit traumatized.

Oh gosh, I didn't think cooking would make her look so frightened…! Regret started to settle in Yuji's chest since he's the one who suggested it in the first place. The responsibility was on his shoulders.

Reading the atmosphere, you collected yourself from your dejected mood after sensing Yuji's eyes on your figure. You knew he might feel bad about this because it was his idea for you to learn how to cook. But it's not entirely his fault when you took up the offer and somehow failed to do one simple task. You're not really sure what went wrong but it was an accident.

"Yuji, stop sulking. It's not a big deal—I mean it kind of was but I've passed that. Mistakes happen and you just gotta move on from it!" You stood up and walked over to him, smacking his back really hard that he fell over. "And I won't be cooking any time soon either… I still need this house,"

In the middle of the night, you groaned in your sleep, feeling your consciousness waking up through your sleepy state. "Mmmm…"

Without your knowledge or ears catching this sound, your bedroom door slowly creaked open as light footsteps made their way to where you slept.

A hand delicately brushed your hair out of your face. "Master, it truly is you." A deep and husky voice whispered out, catching your half asleep mind but you let it go as you thought it was a dream.

You drifted back into la la land as you turned around, letting the figure face your back until it left your room.
