"Master, I'm sorry…"
You freaked out as Sukuna suddenly laid his head at the crook of your neck and pinned your hands above your head. You felt his hot breath ghosting over your collarbone while your face burned red. You were literally holding in your breath as if you didn't want to get caught by a murderer in your house. You had no clue what was going on. All you wanted was Yuji to take over yet you were curious as to why he's calling you master and apologizing.
Kameko defeated Sukuna and that's all we know about her. We know nothing about Kameko's past besides her creating a big impact on the jujutsu society.
You mentally gulped, trying to brace yourself for the question you had bubbling in your throat. You really were going to ask him why he called you master. If he wasn't going to hurt you, you believed he might answer your question.
Mustering your wavering courage, you pulled yourself together as you breathed shakily in his ear. "W-why am I your master?" You prayed he gave you an answer. "I don't even have any history with you. I was born 16 years ago. You're blindly mistaken."
"You don't have history with me, but your face does." Sukuna pulled back and stared at you with his glossy red eyes. You couldn't tell what he was feeling and you were afraid to know too. Being stuck in this situation with Sukuna scared you because you didn't do anything. It was brought upon you. "I've waited thousands of years for your return, master. The last thing you said to me was that you hated the monster I've become, but I know those words were coaxed in lies because you love me." His face zoomed closer to yours as the tips of both of your noses touched.
Your heart was beating like crazy. Every thump grew louder in your chest and ears while your brain fried. You didn't know how to react to Sukuna's closeness nor did you know what to say. This was too bizarre to handle under your confused state.
So he's talking about Kameko… What kind of a relationship did they have if it's not enemies? You pondered but kept it to yourself.
"Even if you're her descendant, you will never be Kameko. Seeing you feels like you're mocking her from her power to her face… But I can't bring myself to kill you because my heart aches for her!"
You were terrified. Sukuna could kill you in any second because he supposedly hates you but doesn't. You weren't too sure what to do or say. You didn't want to be dead meat. Hot tears filled behind your waterline. You absolutely didn't want to die yet. You have so much to do in this world but you're limited because of your fate and duty to this world. Of course you wouldn't mind seeing your parents on the other side, but it's not the right time and you couldn't leave your grandma behind either. She's supposed to go before you, not after you. If you knew you might possibly die by the hands of Ryomen Sukuna, you would've changed your whole life so you wouldn't regret anything. You wondered if your grandma predicted this too by using her clairvoyant eyes? If that was the case, she should've given you a heads up.
As your eyes couldn't contain your petrified tears, it rolled out from the ends of your eyes, catching Sukuna's attention. He pulled back from you to fully see your face and with one hand, he slowly wiped your tears away and licked it off his fingers. His pink tongue started from the base of his finger and up to the tip of it, keeping eye contact with you.
Your cheeks and ears were turning really red. Why in the world is he doing that? I'm scared but also embarrassed. What am I supposed to feel under this circumstance? Is he going to kill me? Spare me? He's not making it clear. Come on, Yuji! Come back!
You knew if you were as cocky as Gojo, you wouldn't mind going against Sukuna and asking Yuji to come back, but… your mind was drowning in fear. It was sinking at the bottom of the ocean. It lacked oxygen and the will to bring yourself back up and together. The presence of Sukuna was on a different level.
After he tasted your salty tears, Sukuna said something which shocked you even more. "Cry for me," he chuckled to himself, lifting your chin up as there was a devious smile. Sukuna loved the sight of you crying your eyes out with your emotions adding flavors to your tears. It brought him joy and entertainment. "Cry for me, master. I want to see your pretty tears fall from your trembling eyes."
Although Sukuna had mixed feelings about you, he enjoyed this new side of Kameko's offspring. This fueled his desire to tease you and possibly stick around you even more despite not having a real motive.
You wanted to shoot him a fearsome glare but it was a weak one instead. "…y-you're sick!" You spat through your sandy throat. You had to speak up; you didn't like how Sukuna was demanding you to cry to pleasure him. It's so weird and kinky. You weren't into that.
"Oh master, should I call you little lamb?" Sukuna hand caressed your reddened face as he kept his shitty grin. Then it started to trickle down to the base of your neck. His fingers were smooth and warm, leaving trails of his scent on you. "You're so adorable. I love seeing you shake in fear. You're way too interesting, y/n. Your reaction excites me—more than my unrequited love for my master Kameko." His fingers danced around your collarbone, accelerating your unceasing heartbeat. Before you knew it, Sukuna closed the gap between his and your face.
You instinctively shut your eyes in fear. You didn't want him to kiss you or do anything to you. Not only because it's Yuji's body but he's a demon and you weren't into that.
Please Yuji, come back! I want to kill you but it's also not your fault!
THUD!
Instead of feeling Sukuna's advancements, you felt his body fall flat on top of you. Still being scared, you found the courage to open one of your eyes and witnessed Yuji—not Sukuna because his markings were gone—passed out. Your hands were released from his grip, and you used all your might to push Yuji's body off of you. What happened to you felt too surreal as you ran out with your legs feeling like jelly.
/
The next day later, you decided not to go to school and deal with Sukuna. You tied the sleeping Yuji down in his bed as talismans decorated the ropes binding him in his bed. You needed to take precautionary measures to keep yourself safe from Sukuna if he chose to take over Yuji's body.
Cling! Cling! Cling!
You sat on a chair in front of Yuji as he pulled his restricted arms and legs from his deep slumber. He was slowly awakening, but not realizing that he's been strapped in bed.
Once Yuji realized he couldn't fully move his whole body, he instinctively woke up in a fight or flight mode. His shocked eyes landed on the ropes, and his heart was beating like crazy in fear he's going to be executed like before, but he found you next to his bed with a grim expression.
"Y/n… why am I tied down?" Yuji fearfully asked, scared to hear her complete answer. He's not sure what he did to deserve this, but he doesn't want to die just yet either. Not until he eats all 20 fingers of Sukuna.
Your legs were crossed as your hanging foot shook violently. You did have a serious expression on because you weren't sure if Yuji knew what Sukuna did to you last night. You were just out of it. Out of everyone on this planet, you had to be an offspring of Kameko. The world loves gracing you with many benefits of being a special person. It wasn't a perk, more like a hassle to take care of.
You cut to the chase instead of prolonging it. "Whenever Sukuna takes over, do you recall any of it?"
"Uh, it really depends. Sometimes I don't see it if he doesn't want me to remember. Why what happened?" Yuji quickly caught on. "What did he do?" He was panic-stricken. He was afraid that Sukuna must've hurt you or messed up the house while you were gone and he was sleeping.
So he doesn't remember. Why would Sukuna want to block that from his memories? Is he going to use me for something evil and grand? I don't want to know.
You sighed, throwing your head back and lifting it back up to look at him. "Yeah he did."
Yuji's face turned white as a ghost. The color was drained from his ear hearing what you said. He doesn't understand why Sukuna would take over and mess with you. But he was indeed scared. Yuji doesn't know what Sukuna has in plan for you, and he doesn't want you to be hurt or involved.
So you continued on explaining what happened. The more you talked about it, the more you began turning red. Your ears and neck were getting very hot, and you couldn't look at Yuji anymore. You felt very embarrassed just retelling it. Even Yuji started to feel uncomfortable by the details. He just couldn't believe Sukuna would do that with his own body.
"So Sukuna likes you?!"
"I-I don't know!" You shrugged, standing up from your seat as you paced around the room. You needed to let out your jitters. It was too crazy to believe that Sukuna's interested in you. "He has an unrequited love for Kameko, but I don't know what went on between them. Maybe it's like some master and student love? Since he called me 'master' a few times…" you honestly weren't too sure what Sukuna deal was. He told you that you mocked the name, face, and power of Kameko then you find out he likes your crying face? He can't stick with one feeling and express what he truly feels about you. "Don't ask me because I don't know. I'm just as confused as you are."
"What should I do?" Yuji was unsure what action he should take but you didn't know either. Whatever you and Yuji do will result in making your guys' lives even harder. "Should we tell sensei?"
You bit your lips. You didn't like relying on Gojo. He already has enough things on his plate just like you too. Adding this will make it worse. He's literally dealing with the higher ups and protecting you from them nagging you about your duty as Kameko. You feel indebted already, you don't want to deepen it.
You took your head after resolving it. "No… He's a busy man with other things to prioritize than Sukuna. We can just handle it." You weren't going to lie. You were scared. You don't know what Sukuna is capable of, and you weren't sure what he's going to do with you either, but you knew you can't let anyone else get involved.
At the end of your conversation, it was concluded that Yuji will try his best to suppress Sukuna so he doesn't harm you. It's the only way for the both of you to be safe, and it was the only idea since no one could come up with a better answer.
"Can you untie me now?" Yuji asked as you forgot you tied him to his bed for your safety.
"Yeah, sorry!"
You both moved on with your day as normal, but kept a close eye on Yuji in case Sukuna were to come and appear out of nowhere. You had to run some errands today so you went out of the house and left him behind. You didn't want to drag him in fear of a curse user finding out his status. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Walking down a busy street, you passed by a flower shop but you immediately stopped because a flower caught your eyes. You couldn't believe your eyes as you felt your heartache from the flower. This was the flower decorated at your parents' funeral. Your grandma picked it out for its significance to guide the dead to their cycle of rebirth and say your final goodbye. You couldn't help but feel extremely emotional as you gravitate towards it. You wanted to buy it for comfort because you really missed them.
Feeling your eyes hot, you fanned them down so you didn't have to look like a mess in front of the florist.
Don't cry, y/n. You're not weak! You don't cry anymore. You stopped crying once you left their funeral. You told yourself, trying so hard to pull yourself together.
You didn't like to show weakness; you wanted to make sure your parents knew how strong you were to go on in life without them. If they saw you cry, you'd feel like you're dishonoring them. That's why you have never gone to their tombstones because you were afraid of breaking down. You didn't want to remember the pain and anguish ripping your body apart. Yet the flower was calling you. The red spider lily was begging to be in your house, so you were willing to keep it until it died.
"It's okay, y/n… Their death anniversary looms near. This is an exception." You quietly mumbled, walking inside the shop and buying it right off the bat and proceeded to go home.
Once you got home, Yuji greeted you at the door with a bright smile. "Hi, y/n! What did you get?" He curiously asked, staring at the items stuffed in your arms.
You bought cleaning supplies and your red spider lily pot. "I got your cleaning stuff you've been asking for, and I got this plant for myself." You handed him the bag so you can carry your flower to the backyard. "I'll be at the back if you need me," you informed him, trailing away to do your own thing.
At the backyard, you put on a sun hat so your face wouldn't get burned from the blazing sun. So many things happened in the backyard. Your parents used to play with you, garden at the back, have small picnics, just anything for their daughter to be happy. You were your parents' joy and light. They wanted to do everything with you before you flew out of their nest.
You watered your flower to keep it alive as long as it can live while your mind was occupied by the past and your eyes were intensely staring at the red flower. Flashbacks of your parents' funeral felt hazy. All you remembered was images of your mom's favorite flowers scattering everywhere at the service. You couldn't remember if you cried or showed any sorrow at the time because you blocked it out from your head. You chose to lock it up so you didn't have to feel so damn sad nor did you want to remember the car accident either. If you decided to unlock what has been put away, you would go crazy and possibly throw yourself in the grave. No matter how many times your grandma told you that it wasn't your fault, you knew it was and it will always be because of you.
"I'm so sorry…!" Your eyes kicked out tears as you felt extremely miserable.
Meanwhile with Yuji…
He didn't think too much about what you were doing. If you were going to take care of that flower then he'll let you. It just surprised him that you're actually doing something rather than nothing. Having a hobby wasn't a bad thing
Knock knock knock
Yuji heard someone at the door and he assumed it was Gojo. "Sensei's here? This is the first time he visited us ever since he dropped me here." He mumbled to himself, darting towards the door. He didn't want to make you do it if you were busy in the back, after all, he felt bad that you had to deal with Sukuna's antics last night.
Without thinking too much about it, Yuji made his way to the front door and opened it, revealing an old lady who he didn't know. "Sens—h-hi! How may I help you?" He quickly changed his tone when he found out it wasn't Gojo.
The old lady had short grey hair as she used a cane to help her walk. The lady simply smiled at Yuji. "So you must be Yuji Itadori, Sukuna's vessel that sorcerers were talking about before your death."
Yuji's eyes widened from being exposed by an old lady as his heart dropped to the ground. He knew he should've gotten you to do it since it's your house and you're responsible for him too.
Damn! I don't want to hurt an old lady… But she knows my whereabouts. If she leaves now, me and y/n are going to be in danger. y/n will kill me once she learns about this! Yuji knew he messed up and he had to fix it before it worsened.
Just when Yuji turned his head back to see if you were going to enter the house or not, the old lady broke into a fit of laughter. "Ahahaha! Young man, does my granddaughter and I not look alike?! She told me about you." She hit Yuji's arm as she stepped inside the house.
"I'm Gin, y/n's grandma!"
Oh, I remember hearing that name. I think it was Sensei who said it.
Yuji rubbed his arm from the impact Gin used. He couldn't believe an old lady like her had strength to make him wince. "It's nice meeting you! y/n is at the backyard probably watering her flower she got." Yuji used his index finger and pointed at the back of the house which led to the backyard.
This alerted Gin since she knew what time of year it was and you never had a plant whenever she dropped by to visit you. It interested her even more as she asked her next question. "What kind of flower is it?" She internally gulped because if it was the flower she knew, then she doesn't have to say anything else and leave.
Yuji didn't think too deeply about this question. He folded his arm and looked up at the ceiling, trying to use his memories to recall the color, shape, or name of it. "Uhhh… It was red… I think it was a red spider lily!" He snapped his head forward and smiled with his final answer. "Yeah it is that! It's in season so I wouldn't see why she bought it. It's beautiful…" Yuji mumbled off.
Hearing his answer only caused Gin stress. She couldn't believe you chose to get the flower over visiting your parents' grave. She doesn't understand how long you're going to keep on blaming yourself for their death. Gin knew you didn't cause this; they were going to die regardless, not even her clairvoyant eyes could save them. Your parents knew what they were getting themselves into when they found out they were pregnant with you. They did everything in their power to protect and love you as best they could before their time ran out. But she can't tell you that because you're in denial.
Gin's lip pursed as she sighed, shaking her head. "Ah, it's that time of year…"
Time of year? What did she mean? Yuji asked himself but didn't want to pry.
"Don't tell y/n that I came… And Yuji," Gin locked eyes with his brown orbs, using her technique to read any future events that will be coming soon. She saw everything in a flash and it reassured her, but she couldn't tell everything to Yuji. He will have to uncover it by himself. Gin put a hand on his shoulder and smiled, letting him know he doesn't have to fear death. "You will live a good and long life. You don't need to worry about being executed, but you will have to overcome many obstacles in order to be stronger than you already are. Take care of y/n for me. I know she's hard to handle but look past that. She had a hard life and carries guilt in her heart. She's going to need you the most when I'm gone. This old lady doesn't have much time left to live,"
Yuji felt his heart squeezed from her sad yet true words. He knew the feeling because he lost his grandpa not too long ago. It opened an old wound even though he had sucked it up and accepted his passing. Gin's words only fueled Yuji to accept her promise. He knew deep down you were really lonely and unhappy with life. He still remembered your melancholy expression. Your eyes were drowning as your mind was lost at sea. Yuji was going to keep you company until who knows how long.
"Yes, ma'am! I won't let you down. I'll make sure y/n is happy, or I'll try to since it's hard to break down her barrier… Nonetheless, you won't have to worry!" Yuji said in determination.
Gin's heart felt reassured. Her granddaughter's fate will be in the good hands of Yuji. "Thank you. Whenever she goes, try to follow her. I know she'll get angry but it's better to be safe than sorry." She patted Yuji's head before leaving.
After Gin had left, Yuji immediately went to go find you.
He found you as your back was faced towards him. "Hey y/n," Yuji called out, not thinking too much about you huddling near the plant you bought. He did think it was odd how you were out here for a long time, but he couldn't complain since the weather was breezy and calm. "I'm going to make dinner. What do you want to eat?"
Being surprised by Yuji's presence, you quietly breathed from your mouth so your stuffy nose wouldn't alert him that you were crying big tears from your reddened eyes. You were really scared if you did say so yourself. You knew your eyes were bad and your nose was stuffy and red.
"A-anything is fine…" You tried your best to conceal your emotional state by breathing through your mouth. You toned your voice back from sounding hurt and broken. You didn't want Yuji to care what you're going through. It would be best if he were cold hearted and left you be, but somehow he wasn't taking your answer after all, Yuji met Gin and you didn't know that.
y/n's grandma said she has a heavy heart and supposedly 'it's that time of year' is a big significance in y/n's life. What is she going through? I hope she's not crying to herself because I'm always here to listen. Yuji said to himself and decided to be bold about his next action. He knew he could get slapped by you but he was going to risk it all for your emotional and mental state.
Yuji moved in front of you and hastily cupped your face. His soft hands were against your baby-like skin, forcing you to look at him in his eyes. This shocked you as your eyes widened, revealing your distressed appearance to him. He saw an expression which hadn't been there before, and it tugged his heart because nobody deserves to be sad. Everyone should live happily yet you weren't. Your glistening round red eyes, tear stained face, and sprinkled red nose setup his resolve to make you buoyant. You have to experience pure happiness for once, and that's what he's going to do.
"Y/n, why are you crying? What's wrong? What happened?"
You pulled back from him in embarrassment and irritation. How dare he see your ugly sobbing face? Your face contorted in displeasure. You didn't want to tell him the truth because it's none of his business. "Just go make dinner." You huffed and exited the scene. You didn't want to come out from your shell and be vulnerable, so you still decided to lock yourself inside to protect your heart.
Yuji watched your figure leave in frustration. He couldn't help but frown how you didn't want to open your heart to him. He thought you and him got pretty close to each other but he guessed not. Yuji knew something must have happened for you to refuse to find help. He frowned as he made sure to stick by his words even more now. Before he was at 100% to be by your side, but now it went up to 200%. "Y/n, I won't make you go through this alone. I'll make sure you know I'll be here. I don't want to die without helping you either."
