The next day later, you woke up as you found Yuji sleeping on the ground.
Although it shouldn't have shocked you, it kind of did. "He really did stay here till the morning." Your heart was touched by his sweet and caring nature.
You recalled having the same recurring nightmares until it disappeared and tranquillity took over. You weren't sure if you heard god speaking to you in your dreams but you did, and god casted the demons away.
With Yuji's help, you've gotten a full night's rest and you don't feel sluggish or drained anymore. You were energized.
"You're a good person, Yuji. I really hope it doesn't change in the future."
You cautiously got out of bed so you wouldn't wake him up, and you threw your blanket over him in case he got cold. A small part of you wanted to put your pillow underneath his head, but you knew it would wake him up so it was best not to.
Today you had to go to school and so-called "train" even though you weren't going to participate. You enjoy watching your peers work hard while you count the days when you're forced to be a part of the jujutsu world. The clock was ticking and your freedom was fading away.
You slipped on your gym clothes and grabbed your bag as you left the house. Usually you would eat but it's okay, you'll eat some food at school instead. Over there will be fresh cooked food rather than a burned down house if you attempted.
Entering school grounds,
"Damn, I still haven't read the books about Kameko… I should stop putting it off and actually read it. Yeah, I'll do it when they're training or something to pass time." You grumbled to yourself, walking to school as you quickly noticed two new students at vending machines. From afar, you couldn't tell who it was because your eyesight wasn't the best.
"Who are they?" It was a male and female pair with Megumi and Nobara. "What's going on?" Whatever it was, you got the feeling that it wasn't going to end well. "Maybe I shouldn't—no, I have to!" Yuji's good nature started to rub on you, making you check out the scene. You knew if he hadn't entered your life, you would have minded your own business even if you knew Megumi. "Yuji, Yuji, Yuji… Are you now influencing my decision?" You dryly chuckled as you got closer to them.
Jogging to the four people, you got a closer look at the male and female in front of your peers. "Mai Zenin and… I don't know who you are." You have never seen the muscular guy with a top knot before.
Click clack click clack
You pushed your way between Megumi and Nobara to protect the two as you stood in front. "Greetings, Mai Zenin and sir. What brings you here before the goodwill event?" You casually asked, having both hands on your hips.
However, you didn't even receive a quick answer from Mai when the buff guy immediately dropped to his knees with tears streaming down his eyes. Everyone's soul jumped out from their body as they didn't expect this to happen. You guys were all clueless and confused, staring at each other. You stared at Mai then to your two peers behind you. To say the least, you were a bit scared now.
"Pst! What's going on?" You whispered to Megumi and Nobara, slowly backing away from Mai and her friend.
"The guy's name is Todo Aoi. He's a third year student from Kyoto, and he was picking a fight with Fushiguro about who's his ideal type." Nobara summed.
Curiously enough, you asked who Todo's ideal type is. You couldn't understand why he would fight Megumi for that reason. He doesn't even like to socialize. Plus, he has stayed the same since he was young so you only know small parts of him.
"Tall girls with a big ass," Nobara said in disdain, feeling as if most guys will say that or say big boobs like physical appearance matters over the woman's personality and attitude. "At least Fushiguro isn't lumped with him. He said he likes a compassionate person!" She looked proud to know her friend wasn't a basic dirty dog.
You mentally snickered to yourself because Todo's ideal type reminded you of Yuji's. You knew damn well they would get along because of that. It's rare to find a person who has the same type as them.
"Okay, well… What does that have to do with him falling on his knees?" It made no sense how Point A doesn't connect to Point B.
"Mai," Todo called out, bawling his eyes out in happiness.
"What is it?" Mai answered in slight annoyance.
"I think I found the woman who's on par with Takada…! Tall with a big ass,"
You turned to Nobara and asked her a serious question. "Do I have a big ass? I feel it jiggle when I walk but still, do I?"
Nobara narrowed her eyes and examined your ass while Megumi looked away as he didn't want any part of it. He's better off not knowing. He doesn't want his mind to be cursed by your image of a big ass attached to your face. "Ummm… Yeah, you do. What do you eat to gain fat down there?"
You laid a hand on your right buttcheek to feel the roundness of it, and Megumi turned his whole body away from the both of you. "I'm lucky that most of my fat travels down to my thighs and butt."
Then your conversation with Nobara was interrupted by Mai, who didn't want any part of what Todo was about to say or do, speaking directly to you. "Y/n, I suggest you leave right now. This idiot might do something regrettable, and I don't want you involved… I'm not sure if I'll be able to stop him."
You could see the nervousness and fear in Mai's face, believing her words on the spot. She's not the type to lie as she only wants the best for you. Your relationship with Mai was a mutual respect—no bad blood or anything.
"R-right, thanks. I owe you one. I'll see you next time,"
You pushed away your two peers back to the training ground.
You sat underneath a tree watching everyone train. You were supposed to read your book about Kameko, but you left it at home. You couldn't believe you forgot that you even took it out in the first place. All this time you thought it was in your bag. Oh well, you'll read it at home instead like how you wanted to in the first place.
"Maki, how's your new body?"
You didn't get a chance to ask her about it ever since you scared the living hell out of her last time. You felt no cursed energy from her and it's terrifying. She received a full upgrade from you.
Maki clenched her fists as she looked at it. "Not bad actually. I have to get used to my full strength and seeing curses without my glasses. Overall, I'm getting the hang of it, y/n. Thanks!" She grinned from ear to ear, pouring her appreciation.
"Haha. No problem, Maki. I see potential in you so why wouldn't I help you?"
While you watched everyone under the shade, Ijichi came out of nowhere and asked to speak with you. "Y/n, can you come here?" he timidly spoke, waving to you to follow him.
You didn't question anything out of the ordinary since he's a working assistant here at the school, and Gojo tends to bully him on a daily basis. You kind of feel bad for him because people make his life a living hell. From the stress he gets, his aging process accelerates.
"What's up?" You were far from the training ground as you stood in front of Ijichi. You guys never interacted unless it was school or sorcery related.
"The higher ups privately asked to hold a meeting with you."
"Without Satoru?" You carefully asked.
The last time you ever had a meeting with them was when you were about 8 years old, but Gojo had tagged along and spoke on your behalf. He knew they would string you as their puppet and force you to be their servant since you were too young to understand anything. There were countless times where the higher ups tried to meet with you, but Gojo always intervened and stopped it from happening. He was shielding you from the jujutsu world which you weren't ready to be a part of. However, now that Gojo had the world on his plate, you didn't want him to keep protecting you from the higher ups. You had to stand your ground since you're older and a bit wiser than before.
You felt your heart trembling because you had to do this alone, but you knew it would be okay. There will be a day where you can't rely on Gojo, and you would have to handle this big world by yourself too.
I'll be okay! Nothing bad will go wrong. The higher ups haven't done anything to make me spite them. I may not like how they run things, but I understand and respect the rules and regulations to a certain extent. I don't agree with everything, but it is what it is.
You tried to knock some courage into yourself so you wouldn't fear them and you had no reason to either. You're the strongest sorcerer on this planet. No one can rival against you, so the higher ups have to walk on eggshells for you… or that's what you hope.
"Yes without him." Ijichi confirmed, visibly gulping his saliva down his throat. He was scared you were going to lash out on him, so he instinctively flinched before you could reply back.
Poor dude… What did Satoru do to him? I haven't said or done anything and he's recoiling.
"Let's go, Ijichi. If Satoru finds out, I'll protect you. I don't know what kind of psychological damage he's done, but trust me… He's not getting away with it." You promised Ijichi because you felt bad for him. Gojo needed to be nicer to him instead of being an asshole. You knew him too well since he never stopped bothering you.
Ijichi's face brightened in delight. You were his saving grace as he felt reassured Gojo couldn't abuse him this time.
You traveled to the headquarters and entered inside the tower. The hallway leading to the room was dimmed as candles lit up the walkway there. For some reason, you had a bad feeling in your guts. It was telling you that this meeting wasn't going to end well, but whatever happens you'd have to embrace it. You really hoped it wasn't going to kill you or make you kill them.
You breathed out softly, calming down your racing heart from escaping. "I'm going to be okay… This meeting will be fine, I hope."
As you entered the main room, shoji panels covered the faces and bodies of the higher ups. The atmosphere was heavy and unfriendly. You didn't know what their deal was but you hope it wasn't too bad, after all… Gojo prevented you from meeting them for many years.
"Kameko's descendant, do you know why we called you here?"
They don't know you as f/n l/n rather they see you as the title: Kameko's descendant.
You stiffened from their stern voice shooting down your spine. You knew you couldn't act like a brat since your life will revolve around these old people. Their opinions matter more than sorcerers' talk. You were going to mutually respect them unless they crossed the line.
"No, I don't." You honestly spoke. They should've sent you a notice beforehand so you were mentally prepared yet they didn't.
A deep voice rumbled in the air. "You have neglected your duty as Kameko. Have you no shame? Your blood is the founder of jujutsu yet you're laying back for other sorcerers to take care of it?"
Their words were stabbing your heart and body because you already knew this. How could you not know? This information has been embedded into your soul for many years. It's a constant reminder whenever you wake up each morning. How was it possible to forget? You couldn't believe that's how they perceived you as—a careless person.
Biting your tongue, you held back so many words which could tear their heads off their bodies. You also did your best to conceal your anger swarming in your body. "Of course, I haven't forgotten my roots; however, I do deserve to live a normal life too. It's detrimental if I solely focus on my duties. I'm slowly easing my way in—"
The higher ups weren't satisfied with your answer. They were furious to even listen to your stupid excuses. They didn't try to understand because it's in their nature to be closed-minded and find things that benefit them. "Nonsense! We already tolerate Gojo Satoru's antics. We aren't going to oversee yours, Kameko's descendant."
It hurts how they never tried to say your name unlike Gojo. They recognized him as his own person whereas you didn't really have an identity. It really sucked that you felt your eyes brimming in rage. They were too ignorant and lost touch with the world as they hid behind shoji panels.
"For many years we waited for Kameko's offspring to bear her power so she can help bring balance to the world like she did last time! How can you do that to yourself and family? Your parents—"
You popped off. You didn't want them to bring your parents into this mess. They had no right when they didn't even do anything to help you afterwards. If they truly cared about who you were, then they would try their best to provide as much service as they could but they didn't. Clenching your fists, you glared at them with malice poisoning your appearance. "Shut up! Don't tell me how to live my life! You think it's easy to be who I am?!" You yelled at the top of your lungs. "You don't know a single thing as you watch all your finest sorcerers die! Should you really hold this much power when you're not doing shit? Don't make me laugh."
Then the higher ups retorted with the same energy you gave to them. "Same could be said about you. You don't know anything; you've been sheltered for so many years. What do you know about this world? Child, your parents died because they didn't expose you to the hard truth. Even as Kameko's descendant, do you deserve to hold more power than we do when you're not doing anything to benefit our society? Your authority has no power against us because we all know you're still an amateur who needs to be exposed to the truth. Once that happens, we will decide whether or not you can hold the world on your shoulders. Right now, you're below us. Your power or lineage can't sway the hard truth that you're inexperienced."
Feeling your blood boiled in madness as it felt like they slapped your face. You stormed out of the room. You knew the things they said were right, but they're basing on things they think they know about you. They don't actually know anything about you. Your teeth clenched as your fists were balled, feeling your tears streaming down your eyes in frustration. You wanted to question why they said those things, but it would be useless because they're heartless bastards.
"Ugh, I fucking hate them!" You wiped your tears away, trying to calm yourself down. You didn't want to be weak about getting emotionally hurt by them. You already knew what kind of people they were yet it still hurts to hear it. "Is that what they wanted to tell me? Say that they don't recognize me because I never dealt with this society?! Ughhh! They know I can kill them—fuck, I sound like Satoru…"
You didn't want to call Ijichi to pick you up because you felt like you were going to explode in his car and being nice to him, you wanted to spare him from your fuming rage. It'll only cause him to stiffen up and be really awkward.
Walking home on foot, the sky was quickly changing from a red-orange color to a dark blue. The stars were bright and twinkling while the full moon appeared above you. You had to admit, it was a beautiful night. It wasn't too cold or too hot; it was just right. You could gaze at the sky with loving eyes, but you had other things to worry about.
With your hands in your pockets, you managed to walk 5 miles in 2 hours. You should be in excruciating pain because you're not active but it didn't hurt. Most likely your pain traveled to your disdain for the higher ups. It minimized your physical pain, thank goodness. However, it didn't stop your sweat from leaking around your forehead and neck.
"Yuck, I feel so gross!" You wiped your sweat off with your shirt.
You weren't sure if it was your stubborn or nice nature which led you to walk home, but you were now tired of it. Your legs weren't working anymore as your muscles wanted to give up and retire for the night.
"Goddamn…!" You sat on the empty road to rest as your knees were propped up and your arms on your kneecaps while your back was hunched forward. Softly and quietly, you heaved your tiredness out your mouth. You were literally on the mountain side with the help of gps. You were close to home yet not at the same time. "Maybe I'll call Ijichi to pick me up…" you didn't want to walk anymore. You were ready to be sent home.
When you looked at what time it was, it shocked you how fast time sped up after the long walk you painfully chose. "Shit, it's 7pm already?! Goddamn! Why did I do that to myself?! I could've been doing something else." You exasperated, then quickly called Ijichi.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Hey, it's me. Can you pick me up?" You described where you were on mobile maps since you didn't know. You don't travel to places so how should you know? However, you immediately stopped mid-sentence when you sensed an ominous and dark aura, which mainly came from cursed spirits, flying rapidly at you from a distance. "I'll call you back. Something came up."
Immediately, you ended the call and tucked your phone away. To counter whatever was coming at you, you turned on your cursed technique nullification. You maxed it at 20 meters radius, eliminating any innate ability from hitting you.
BAMMMM!
A loud crashing sound came out of nowhere. Dust particles flew in the air, smoking your view before you could even swat it away.
"Take this!" You heard a voice called and you quickly stepped aside to avoid any injuries. "Huh?!" Their footsteps stopped moving when they realized they couldn't use any technique.
That's when the dust cleared and a volcano-looking cursed spirit appeared a few feet in front of you.
"Oh? Is this mt. Fuji? I didn't think I'd be attacked by a volcano." You jest, running your hand through your hair. You really couldn't believe how grotesque it looked like but what's new? "If you're looking for Gojo Satoru, he's not here. He's much more of a worthy opponent than I am. You'll have fun fighting him."
Who wouldn't want to fight the second most powerful sorcerer of all time? Beating him means a lot to a person's pride.
However, the curse wasn't really paying attention to you as much as you hoped. He was still focusing on how his technique didn't expel from his fingers. "How? Why? Why isn't my technique working?!"
"I don't know. Why did you think you had a chance to beat me?" You sat on the ground since you were tired of standing. Your feet ached from walking. It was very tender and sensitive. You really wanted to go to a spa and get a full body massage. Imagining it makes your mind feel at ease despite the situation you're in.
The volcano was very pissed. He clearly wanted to use his technique to destroy the life out of you. "Hmph! Whatever. I can still feel my cursed energy flowing through my body—"
Ring ring
You had your phone to your ear, purposely annoying the curse. "Hey Satoru, there's a cursed spirit looking for you. It looks like a volcano, and their speech is very good as if they're humans—" then your phone call was interrupted by the volcano curse.
"We are the true humans! Not you!"
Your eyes narrowed at the curse, wondering why he cut you off mid-sentence. "Can you shut up? I'm on the phone with Gojo Satoru, isn't that the guy you want?" You were absolutely sure the volcano targeted you because sorcerers and curse users knew you were under his protection. How else would they lure Gojo out?
The volcano curse wasn't having none of your bullshit. The curse cut straight to the chase. "I'm trying to kill you, Kameko's descendant and Sukuna's slayer." His finger was pointed right at you, staring daggers in your direction. You knew all the curses would be mad about Kameko killing their king of curses. Sukuna represented evil and massacres. He's the living legend and heroic figures in their history book while you're the antagonist who killed him. They just straight up hate you.
Still on the phone, you began talking to Gojo again. "Did you hear that? The curse wanna kill me. Why don't you take care of it since they will come after you too? Plus, you owe me for taking care of a dead man." You simply stated, luring in Gojo. He couldn't forget how he dropped Yuji off your house without any warning. You were never informed, thus you had to take care of Yuji even though it's his job to.
Gojo heavily sighed on the phone, knowing he's at fault. "Fine… I'll be there. All I ask is that you don't die."
After the phone call, you and the curse were fighting. You evaded all of his normal attacks. The curse couldn't use their technique to strike a powerful kill at you.
"You sound very intelligent, dear volcano. If you can communicate this well, why can't you figure out what I'm capable of? How can you aimlessly try to kill me when you don't know anything about me?!" You channeled your cursed energy into your fists as you punched at their chest multiple times. You were feeling the adrenaline rushing in your body. Never have you felt this pumped to fight a curse. Maybe it's because you released pent up anger from the higher ups, or you truly never felt this exhilarated when facing a cursed spirit. Nonetheless, you were loving it. Their malice for you only reminded you of the higher ups.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Purple blood spewed from their mouth. The impact was a lot for the curse to handle as he fell on his knees, trying hard to breath from his damaged lungs and chest. You grabbed the curse by the collar, bringing him up to his feet while it took him a bit to realize what just happened. "Hit me with your technique then," you kicked the curse away as they flew back. A big smile drew your lips apart, turning off your nullification technique. "Come at me,"
Although you weren't as good as Gojo, you had the skills to ensure your survival. You weren't planning to die any time soon.
You blocked all his fiery hits and none of them even landed on you. You wondered when Gojo would come since it felt like an eternity. Fighting curses drained you out more than you realized. It's fun and games, but this lifestyle isn't meant for you.
Leaping back, you put a great distance between you and the volcano. "I'm tired of fighting you. Can we take a break until Gojo Satoru comes? He'll have so much fun fighting against a weak cursed spirit." You didn't mean to sound cocky but with an ability like yours, you are unstoppable—except for the time when the curse user blew dust into your face when your nullification technique was down. Nonetheless, you have nothing to fear.
"Weak?! Who are you calling weak, brat! Don't underestimate me!" The curse fumed in rage after being insulted by you. Lava popped out from the top of his head and ears. "I'll make sure I'll smother you!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, and you knew you were going to be in for a ride.
"Ugh, what now?" You said irritatedly as your pinky was digging inside your ear.
The curse brought his fingers together as his cyclop eye stared menacingly at you. He wasn't hiding evil intentions when he conjured his trump card. This was everything he got to make sure you died today. "Domain expansion: coffin of iron mountain!"
Right before your eyes, you were engulfed in his special domain expansion.
Meanwhile, Gojo and Yuji arrived meters away from the scene.
"Sensei! What's that's black sphere on the road?" Yuji pointed out after being dragged from the dojo he was in. He didn't understand why Gojo had brought him out. Gojo didn't tell Yuji anything but simply took him without a word.
Gojo grinned widely then patted Yuji's back. He wondered how things were going to take off between you and the cursed spirit. His heart and guts were telling him that you were going to be fine, after all, he trained you. So you weren't going to die by any cursed spirits. "Yuji, that's a domain expansion…"
Later when the explanation was done, Yuji couldn't believe the sphere was a powerful barrier technique. "Sensei, so you're trying to tell me that y/n is in there? Won't she die?!" He felt his heart fasten from the thoughts of losing you. He had flashbacks of having you in his arms during the attack by the curse user lady and the intimacy you guys shared. Yuji knew you'd never let anyone see your crying face except him since he barged into your life. You slowly accepted and trusted him. You wouldn't do that to anyone unless you deemed them trustworthy.
Yuji's fists clenched as his demeanor changed. "Should I—" he was going to suggest to Gojo about breaking into the domain, but Gojo cut him off.
"Yuji," Gojo flicked his forehead, knocking some common sense into him. He knew Yuji's feelings had been swayed by you. Who wouldn't have known you two would grow so close after many weeks living under one roof? "Y/n isn't weak and you know that. Remember who she is? She's stronger than me even though she acts lazy. I have faith in her so should you,"
Yuji nodded, believing in Gojo and you. His eyes sharply locked on the sphere as he waited for you to break free.
Being in the curse's domain, you were amazed by how realistic it felt. This was your first time being inside one. The temperature was blazing hot as you were inside a volcano.
Damn it's so hot here, I could grill if I had brought food. Now I'm starving thinking about it… your stomach growled.
"Are you ready to die?"
You could care less what he had to say because your surroundings took most of your thoughts.
"Mmm, a volcano inside of a volcano… How hot does a volcano get? How am I not roasted chicken? Too bad there's no opening like a real volcano." You mumbled off, examining every nook and cranny.
The curse had enough of your ignorant antics. "Well, if you're not going to say anything then I'll just kill you—"
You huffed in annoyance, forcing yourself to face him. You wanted to admire his domain because it reflected what kind of cursed spirit he truly was yet he wasn't letting you. Your pointer and middle fingers stuck up while the rest were tucked away as you called out your favorite technique. "Anti-domain expansion: obliterate," a devious look grew on your face because you knew what you did; however, the cursed spirit knew nothing about you or your ability as they should've.
Suddenly, the curse's domain expansion dissipated as his technique crumbled down before you. His domain was shaking and chunks of rocks fell down, splashing in hot lava. An expression of disbelief and confusion swirled on his face. The curse didn't know what to believe. He had all the power in his hands but now he doesn't.
The domain shattered and you both were back to the outside world. The moonlight illuminated above you, casting a long shadow on the ground.
"You know you should've known who you were messing with," you crossed your arms over your chest with a displeased look because you wanted to go home now. "I am not someone you can take down so easily but Gojo Satoru is! He's over there!" You sarcastically said, pointing in Gojo's direction where he was with Yuji.
"Sukuna's vessel…?" The curse murmured, looking at where you pointed. His eyes widened from what he saw. He didn't have time to think about what you did to his domain and seeing Sukuna's vessel in the flesh. It's too much stimulation for his head. "So he is alive?"
Gesturing Gojo over, you called out to him. "Hurry up! I'm trying to go home!" You were hungry and tired.
Gojo and Yuji hurried to your side. Gojo towered you like usual as there was a big cocky grin displayed on his face. "Did you want your sensei to show off his skills? Or—"
You didn't want to hear it so you jabbed his side.
"GAH!" Gojo choked out from the sharp pain.
Your hand grabbed Yuji's hoodie and pulled it, making him follow you. "Go finish the curse off. I'm hungry so he's coming home with me." You looked over your shoulders at Gojo. You knew he would be fine fighting alone, and he likes fighting alone too. "Peace out!"
