Sharquan: …
DaeQuan: Right.
Anyway, I'm going on break next week, so please enjoy this simple update to outbreak.
The group of five sat in an empty building as they listened to the screams of terror fill the air outside. Ryuuji stood up and stepped towards the window. Looking down at the street below, he narrowed his eyes as he saw the undead attack a group of survivors, "Damn…just lost four more," Ryuuji looked back and noticed the tired looks across the others faces, "Why don't you guys get some sleep? I'll keep first watch and after four hours, Yusaku will take second watch," everyone nodded as Ami, Minori and Yusaku laid down and Taiga stood up and walked over to him, "Get some sleep, Taiga. I'll be-"
"I want to keep you company, Ryuuji," Taiga sat across from him and looked out the window, "It's getting worse every day. These undead bastards and growing in numbers and it's getting harder to find a place to rest at night." Ryuuji hummed and nodded, "What's going to happen?"
"What do you mean, Taiga?"
"If one of us gets bit," Ryuuji looked up and his eyes widened, "We've been doing just fine after those idiots abandoned us that day, but that's not to say one of us won't end up getting bit, and we've all seen what happens when that happens. It's only a matter of time before it takes hold and we'd lose control an-"
"Hey, stop that," Ryuuji reached up and patted the top of her head, "We've been doing just fine without those idiots, yes, all five of us have had some closer calls, but we managed to get away before anything happened. If it does happen, we'll worry about it, but for now, let's not talk about it,"
Taiga inhaled and shook her head, "Our perspective changes at the end of the day. We can kill these bastards during the day, but at night…we seem to think the worse possible scenarios ever."
"Because us humans have an innate fear of the dark. And knowing there are real monsters roaming around the world now, the fear intensifies, and during the day, we see these monsters and we're prepared to defend ourselves," Taiga sighed and nodded before she stood up and walked over to Ryuuji and sat down next to him before resting her head on his shoulder, "Is everything okay?"
"Ryuuji, do you think it'll be like this forever? It has to stop at some point, right?"
"Yeah…like what the hell, this can't go on forever…what are you going to do on the first day after things start to go back to normal?"
"Have you cook me a decent dinner," Ryuuji chuckled and shook his head, "I'm serious…it's been weeks since I ate something that didn't come in a can,"
"And I'd probably welcome that request," Ryuuji sighed and looked up at the night sky, "We're just going to have to survive a little while longer. I doubt this will go on forever," Taiga hummed and nodded as the two of them sat in silence.
Well, I'll see everyone next Monday, enjoy your holiday, stay safe and please enjoy.
