A/N: this chapter and forward will contain manga spoilers!
Less than 24 hours, the structure of the jujutsu society has crumbled, leaving uncertainty in the air for sorcerers and clan leaders to snatch and take control. They all knew they could manipulate the information to the public so people can favor their side. It's going to be an uncivil dispute especially when the three major clans currently reign high. The tensions will be soaring.
An emergency meeting with all clans immediately took place. Everyone knew you killed them. Your residuals were left behind as if you wanted to get caught. Sorcerers in the room were against you, creating false claims that didn't suit your character or made any sense. Fires were being shot left and right while they released their pent up anger.
However, Gojo interjected to stop them from going off the rail. He knew well they were exaggerating at this point. Majority of them never even met you, and even if they did, you were a child compared to now. Gojo couldn't listen as it hurt him since you're his student. He knew you the best and watched you grow up like a father to a child.
"Enough!" Gojo shouted, causing the whole room to go quiet for the first time. Nobody could shut up once they stepped foot in the tense meeting. Who can blame them when it was provoked out of nowhere? They didn't understand what led you to do this and where things went wrong? "You all are spouting nonsense! It could be a possible answer, but do you guys actually know y/n like I do? She's not that type of kid. She's sensitive and has been through a lot before she knew she was of Kameko's descent! There must be a valid reason for her to do that—"
Someone scoffed at him. "Oh please! What's a valid reason to kill the higher ups?! They haven't done anything to deserve this! You're just covering this up because we all know you hated them."
The table turned against Gojo as he's the scapegoat while everyone stared daggers at him. This would be a good reason to bring down the Gojo Clan since this got political and personal in a flash. The Gojo members kept a calm and collected face while they were sweating from the inside. They didn't think it would've resulted like this.
"You probably manipulated y/n to do your dirty work because you hold a reputation! You want your clan to be the best because you were born with the strongest ability." One accused Gojo as more sorcerers joined in.
Gojo let their fiery arrows stab his back. He didn't care because he knew it wasn't true. They're just saying things because they're mad and want someone to blame than actually understand why this happened. Gojo clasped his hands tightly together as his voice growled like a dog showing its prowess to scare off people. "You guys all wanna make this about clans when it's clearly not! It's about figuring why y/n killed the higher ups! Not who convinced her. We can all point fingers because we don't know each other's activities. I can lie and say that the Zenin Clan had secret meetings with her and fabricated evidence. How stupid is everyone?!"
Underneath the heat, Gojo wondered if his words ever caused you stress. I know I have told y/n about how much I hate the higher ups, but I never persuade her to do anything. I made her know she had a choice what to think about the system she's growing in… Y/n, where are you?
Then the topic changed to Sukuna.
"How is it possible that Sukuna obtained his own body? There's no way he can separate himself from his vessel."
Everyone in the room had a hard time swallowing this information down. Nothing made sense when it should. Sorcerers even tried pointing fingers at Yuji saying he should've been executed or else this wouldn't have happened, still shifting the blame onto the Gojo Clan.
"If Yuji did betray us, then why is he still here? He would've run away but he didn't." Gojo defended Yuji as he was getting tired of hearing his students get relentlessly attacked. No matter what happens, Gojo doesn't believe it's your fault for killing them. You have your reasons and maybe you were just scared to let people know about them. He will protect you at any cost.
"Or maybe that's just an act to deceive us!"
The dispute between all clan members went on for hours, trying to deliberate if they should kill you since you're a traitor.
Meanwhile with the students, the first and second years were thrown into the adult's mess as they were forced to be interviewed about you. Most of them didn't know what happened, but they targeted Yuji the most since he was the last person to see you and witness everything.
After the interrogation by sorcerers, all the students were huddled in Megumi's room since they didn't feel safe talking about this in the student's lounge. There could be invisible ears that no one could see with their eyes.
"Itadori, you were the last one to see y/n. Do you know what happened?" Nobara asked in a solemn tone.
Yuji's lips thinned before speaking his truth, "I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong. I still don't understand…" his heart ached, feeling as if it's his fault for not seeing the signs fast enough. You hid all your problems away even though he has seen many parts of you that nobody else could witness. But seeing splitting images of your bloody face to a happier face in a better time caused turmoil in his head. However, he did explain what happened from your grandma's death to when Sukuna left his body.
"Who would target y/n's grandma?" Panda confusingly wondered since you didn't have known enemies.
"It could be anyone," Maki added, knowing you're an important figure. "I don't think it has to be a personal attack. Remember just like Gojo, she has a price on her head."
They totally forgot about that information as you acted like an unimportant figure at school. You treated everyone equally and you never used your status to gain anything. In addition, no one really tried to attack you on campus or out in public. It happened once but that was it. Other than that, you never have been attacked again.
"Tuna tuna," Inumaki chimed.
"So how would her grandma correlate to the higher ups being killed?" Nobara tried tying the two events together because if it's important then there must be more to it than what meets the eyes.
Megumi cleared his throat and told them his thoughts. "They might have been the one who wanted her grandma dead. Why else would she attack them? The reports said most of the higher ups received over a hundred wounds that caused organs to be punctured or spilled and skins were ripped off in the process. Her brutal attacks were personal. Not only did they die from their wounds but also from blood loss—tons of blood loss combined." The eerie facts and details made it difficult for everyone to come to terms with it. What Megumi said was spot on as actions can determine a lot of things about the case and person.
Yuji stayed silent the whole time. He didn't know what to say or do. He's trying to put the puzzle pieces back together while listening to everyone and their theories.
"So it's likely that the higher ups did have something against y/n if we're looking in that perspective," Maki muttered, tapping her foot on the ground to soothe her anxiety.
"Right now, the clans are having a meeting about this and probably debating what actions they should take against y/n," Panda announced, which shocked some people in the room. They didn't know about this. Even the first years felt betrayed by Gojo since he's supposed to tell them important information like this, but this time he kept it to himself rather concerning his students. "Most likely they'll want to execute her…"
Yuji felt his chest squeeze, crushing his lungs till he couldn't breathe. He couldn't let you die. Just the thought of it made him want to take your place. Y/n being executed? Impossible. Sensei will find a way to stop that verdict from happening! He loves and cares for y/n like I do… He began to panic in his head as he felt overwhelmed. If he hadn't listened to Sukuna then maybe you wouldn't have been taken away by him. Yuji doesn't understand how Sukuna managed to get out of his body.
Panda continued his sentence, "However, I know Satoru will protect y/n no matter what. We're his students and he cares deeply about us. I have my faith in him that he'll do something about this." Panda stayed positive since his trust was in Gojo: the adult, the head clan, and the second most powerful sorcerer that everyone fears. There's no doubt that Gojo will fail everyone.
"Itadori, how did Sukuna get his own body?" Megumi asked the impossible question that was on everyone's minds. It stunned them to know Sukuna had his own plans right from the start. They weren't sure if this event was orchestrated by Sukuna or not, but it's a coincidence that he decided to escape Yuji's body now rather than earlier or later.
Yuji fidgeted with his fingers as his right leg jumped off the floor uncontrollably. "I-I… I don't even know…? That part of the story doesn't make any sense. I don't remember Sukuna doing anything with my body since his limit is a minute that he can take over and after that I'm in control... Yet then again, when he does have my body, I don't physically remember what he does. I want to doubt it that his scheme couldn't be made in a minute, but at this point anything is possible." He bitterly said, allowing guilt to stack as tall as a skyscraper. He doesn't believe he should be left off easily when he should've controlled Sukuna. It frustrated him.
Nobara and Megumi noticed how tense his body was and how stiff his facial expression looked. They didn't even have to ask because they already knew he's blaming himself for this. They knew suppressing Sukuna was a big job itself. There's only so much a person can handle before exploding.
"Itadori," Nobara placed a hand on his shoulder, firmly shaking it so Yuji knew he had someone to rely on. "Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault that you don't have any recollection of Sukuna's actions." She put on a smile when he couldn't.
Then Megumi also assured Yuji and slapped his back. "Sensei will do everything in his power to fix this situation, and we'll also find her too. She's as important as everyone in this room. This isn't your burden alone; it's all of ours now."
Yuji's lips twitched and his eyes swelled up from their heartwarming words. "Thanks…! At least I know I'm not alone in this!"
After the sweet moment between the first years, Maki broke their lovely bubble with another question bogging her mind. "Why did Sukuna take y/n?" Nobody knew the real history between Sukuna and Kameko, so they didn't connect the pieces. They even forgot that being a descendant of Kameko could play a factor in your kidnapping. Your lineage was barely covered in the jujutsu classes for them to remember.
That when an outsider walked into their conversation. "It's because y/n looks like my sister Kameko."
Everyone whipped heads to see Master Tengen waltzing inside Megumi's room like it was an open place.
"Who are you?" They all wondered, staring at each other and back to him.
This caused Master Tengen to chuckle as his shoulders bounced with his arms folded. "I'm Master Tengen of course. It's a shame how this society overlooks Kameko's hard work to build this world. They never gave her much credit because a lot of them stole it to create their own name. I'm not too sure exactly why Sukuna kidnapped y/n. What I said is just a guess. However, I do know why she killed the higher ups."
"W-why?!" Yuji jumped out of his seat, eager to hear the reasoning.
Master Tengen slipped out a heavy sigh as this was a big story to unravel. "She killed the higher ups because a curse is chained to her soul. This happened because the higher ups back then wanted to control what Kameko created." He went on detailing the events leading up to Kameko's final death which cursed her family and the seats of the executives. "After creating her everlasting curse, she died right then and there. So ever since her death, the higher ups swore to kill the true Kameko, which is why they targeted y/n but failed to kill her, and instead killed her parents and grandma. That's the sole reason for her slaying them with her own bare hands because of the curse and revenge."
Yuji's eyes enlarged, feeling infuriated by this information as his fists tightened. So this whole time y/n knew. She knew the higher ups killed her family and she couldn't bring herself to tell me. Has she planned their deaths when Gin died? Or did the curse inside of her control y/n to commit this?
"Why didn't you step in?" Panda asked a question that everyone had. Master Tengen already stated that Kameko is his sister and knew what's going to happen to the true Kameko. "You could've prevented y/n's suffering, or even saved your sister when she asked for help. Aren't families supposed to help each other out?"
Master Tengen knew this question was going to pop up sooner or later because it has haunted him for the longest time. "I didn't know when the higher ups were going to strike, and when they did, it was already too late. I didn't make it there in time… And as for y/n, there's nothing I can do to change her fate. It's either to let her suffer and kill the higher ups like the curse is told, or to let the curse happen to another person. They're both going to suffer the same fate." He earnestly spoke as he already thought about the possible outcomes. He can't protect you or break the curse even if he wanted to.
Then Master Tengen told everyone vital evidence for them to start looking where you might've gone to. "Why don't you go search her house and see where she may be?"
/
They all went to your house and searched for clues. They didn't ransack your house, but nicely put objects back to their original spot. Nobody wanted to be rude about it when it's your house. Plus everything is important and might help them put the pieces together.
As everyone checked different parts of the house, Yuji went to investigate your room. His fingers slid across your dresser which accumulated dust and wiped it off on his pants. He didn't think it's been this long since he last visited your house after your grandma's death. Gojo cleaned up all the bloodstain to make it look like nobody has created a murder scene in case you ever wanted to come back home.
"y/n, what kind of secret were you hiding from me?" Yuji pondered, looking through your things.
He turned your room upside down and finally discovered two envelopes in one of your drawers. Yuji held it in between his shaking fingers, opening it up to read the content:
'I know who killed your parents. It wasn't just a curse user behind it'
'It's someone close to you who plotted their death. Are you curious to know? Give me a response so we can meet up in person. You don't want to live in a lie for your whole life and regret this opportunity later on.'
"What? Who wrote this?" Yuji muttered to himself in disbelief. "Whoever did this must've stalked y/n because most of the time I was with her. We both would've known or sensed it. Does sensei know about this?"
/
Peeling your heavy eyelids open, you felt extremely drained and exhausted. Your muscles ache for no reason and your head was pounding like someone was hitting you with a hammer. You didn't feel good despite being healthy thanks to Yuji.
"Mmm," You groaned, trying to lift your body and head up but failed as you collapsed on the cold ground.
Your eyes scanned your surroundings while noticing you weren't in the bloody room with the higher ups. That's when your eyes widened from the realization that you've been kidnapped. You remembered Sukuna regaining his own body and snatching you. After that, you don't recall the rest.
Oh my gosh?! What happened to Yuji?! Where the fuck am I?! You frantically said to yourself.
Panicking, you attempted to get up but your muscles failed you. It didn't have any strength to pull all your weight together as if you overworked your body. This scared you because you don't know what happened to you when you were unconscious.
"My, my, I think your little butterfly has awakened, Lord Sukuna." A curse user snickered in your direction, viewing you as Sukuna's personal belongings.
All eyes were on you as you saw Geto, Sukuna, and other curse users in a room. You could tell they're in the middle of a meeting and you interrupted them. Their hungry gazes sent fear down your body since you're in a weak state and they could take advantage of you.
You opened your mouth to retort, but even your voice box didn't want to work with you today. Your body didn't obey what your mind wanted. Of course I'm the butterfly because I'm fucking fragile. Sukuna ripped off my wings so now I can't fly away from this place I'm in…! I don't know what's wrong with my body, but I will find out one way or another!
"Ah, yes, I see that my little lamb is awake… But you have no right to address her like that," Sukuna, who was sitting in his seat, glared at the curse user who called you his little butterfly. He felt insulted by the fact the curse user stepped over the line. You were his property and nobody had the right to mistreat you or even look, mention your name, or touch you. If they did, they would face death. Sukuna made it clear who had authority in this very room, and no one dared to disobey him or else they'll face severe consequences.
"Y-yes!" The curse user meekly replied, knowing their place.
"Back to what I was saying," Geto resumed their meeting regardless if you heard it or not. "We all agree on the final plan on October 31st?"
Geto?! Don't tell me he played me… Did I just doom myself? Well, now I'm fucked and what's October 31st? What's going on that day? Why didn't I wake up before their meeting started?! But I know it's something bad. I can feel it in my heart. You had so many questions filling inside your throbbing head but none could be answered for now.
Everyone at the table nodded and the meeting ended right before you even got the chance to listen in.
Before you knew it, Sukuna threw you over his shoulders as you couldn't resist because your muscles said no. His left arm wrapped tightly around your legs while the blood in your body was rushing to your brain with your arms swinging side to side. You totally loved being carried and not knowing where you were and if your friends knew about this.
"I didn't think that cursed bug would turn you into a corpse.."
A cursed bug? Where did he get that shit from?
Although you couldn't respond, Sukuna knew you wanted to know the answer.
"I planted a cursed bug inside of you when you were unconscious. It eats your power and physical strength. It's like a parasite if you want to call it. So even if you unleashed your technique somehow, it would kill you because you don't have the required energy to do so in the first place,"
What the fuck? How did he plan so much?! This is terrifying.
His footsteps continued until you heard a door creek open and warm air hit your body. You entered inside Sukuna's room as you saw your reflection on the shiny tile floors. From what you saw in the mirror floors, the room resembled a modern yet ancient look to it. It has hints of the 21st century mixing with artifacts from the Heian Period.
Then he gently laid you down on a soft bed made in silk. Sukuna didn't try to pull any funny moves on you; he stared down with an unreadable expression. You're not used to his true form. He resembled a monster that would eat you if he wanted to, tearing your limbs apart to feed his minions.
"I bet you're wondering how I got my body. It's through another shadow user. I'm so glad I didn't have to use Megumi because I know he wouldn't have done it even if I threatened him." Sukuna chuckled, creating scenarios in his head to entertain himself as he never looked away from your eyes. He explained how he met a shadow user after you confronted him about Kameko and he left you stranded in an abandoned place, that's how he made contact with the user. "I asked for my body on a red moon and surprisingly your event collided with mine so I took the chance to take you."
His toothy grin made you roll your eyes at him. You still couldn't believe he had this plan all along. Nobody could have predicted this day, especially when Gojo was out of town. You knew Gojo would stop Sukuna, but you're not too sure if he'd stop you from killing the higher ups when he hated them too. Now you began wondering what your friends were up to?
"Oh, little lamb… You're like an open book." Sukuna read your expression, knowing you wondered what happened to the outside world. "Everyone knows you killed the higher ups and that I escaped the brat's body. You're a traitor in their eyes because you killed them and you're now with me."
Your heart dropped in a split second as you wanted to know more. Damn news traveled that quickly?
"I brought you to a place where nobody can find you and you can't leave. Your body is weak and security here is high." Sukuna brushed your hair out of your face. His rough hands grazed across your blood-stained forehead and you simply stared daggers at him. "I'm surprised they killed off your grandma. I was going to do that,"
Your eyes swelled up as your lips trembled from his blunt and malice words. Her death still hurts you. You hadn't fully recovered from it but accepted that you were too late to save her. How dare he bring her up like that?! He really does want to die by my hands! Your eyes narrowed, causing tears to slip and darkened the silk sheet.
"Oh? Did you not like that plan?" Sukuna said, faking his shocked expression and voice while wiping your tears away with his thumb. He brought it to his tongue and licked your salty tears as it's filled with grief. Your vulnerable emotions replenished his stomach and he loved it. He wanted more of your reaction, it amused him. "You know that brat will die because his body still holds parts of my power. I'll make sure to rip him apart right in front of your eyes!" Sukuna laughed as he tore your soul apart by killing the person you cherish the most. Just like what he wanted, you cried even more. Your tears were falling uncontrollably like the rainy weather coming to drown a town in sorrow.
Sukuna felt satisfied with the power he held. Even though you're not Master, I get so much more reactions from you than I got from her. I want to make you suffer to ensure you're numb and broken enough to kill everyone. We both know this world killed her. If Master cursed her lineage then she wouldn't mind us wiping out humanity. It still amazed me to know she even pulled that trick on her own family, but if it was before my death, for sure she wouldn't ever do that. She'd be too weak hearted and guilt-stricken. Maybe if Master was vicious back then I wouldn't have left… Sukuna wondered about the beautiful scenarios of the past. No matter how different you're from Kameko, it doesn't change the fact that you two look the same but with opposite personalities. She's more on the regal and virtuous whereas you're an indescribable force who's not as elegant like his Master.
"Servant, give me soup so I can feed my little lamb."
Within seconds, his servant rushed in and dropped off your meal at the side table next to you.
You scowled in disgust, not wanting to be fed by Sukuna. You'd rather starve. He brought this upon himself. If he hadn't implanted a bug inside of you then you would've eaten it by yourself and escaped.
"y/n, don't be difficult!" Sukuna sat you up as your back was cushioned against the pillows on the bed, and he squeezed your cheeks to open your mouth. "If you want to save your brat, then you're going to have to eat!" He will use anything against you to make you listen, and he knew that Yuji was the only way for it to happen.
You allowed Sukuna to feed you because he knew your weakness and how to toy with it. The warm broth cascaded down your throat as it filled up your stomach until the bowl was empty.
Later, Sukuna had his female servants give you a bath. You wondered why you didn't get cleaned up before being fed when you're covered in blood. Yet then again, you despise him for kidnapping you so it didn't matter.
The servants delicately scrubbed your body in the hot water filled with flower petals. They wanted to make sure you were squeaky clean for their Lord's liking. They didn't speak a word to you and kept their mouths shut. They valued their life. With their constant grabbing, you felt uncomfortable. This was your first time being pampered and naked in front of others.
What does Sukuna want from me? I have no benefit for him. I killed the higher ups. My soul feels a bit lighter than before… But if sorcerers already know about what I did, it's going to be harder to live a regular life. They all want me dead. Now I feel like I'm backed into a corner. I can either hide or fight since they're going to come after me. I don't know.
Although you don't know what your next step will be, you're going to figure it out once you escape Sukuna's grasp. You might not know where the bug is but you'll try to investigate it when Sukuna's out of your hair. Your gut feeling was telling you that he's going to be lingering around you more often, and you're not prepared for that. You hoped there'll be times when he leaves you alone without anyone in the room, and you highly doubt someone will be with you since he's protective of you. If he doesn't like anyone calling you nickname, there's no way a person will be beside you except him.
Once you were done bathing, Sukuna ordered the servants to dress you in a junihitoe. You were getting wrapped up in so many layers as you let them do it. You would've thrown a fit, however, you can barely move at the moment. You couldn't believe how expensive the fabric looked as it's hefty on your body. It's adding so much pounds like they're taping dumbbells on you. The fancy outfit made you believe this was out of Sukuna's obsession with his Master.
Meanwhile Sukuna's eyes couldn't look away from you. You looked stunning, resembling Kameko even more. His heart raced from your transformation and his lips subtly trembled. It made him recall his human days with Kameko. Flashbacks filled his head as he concealed his facial expression.
As much as I long to see her, I know she's already dead, but that girl is a reflection of Master so it's difficult to ignore the feelings I harbor for her. I don't regret my actions, but I wished I had taken her with me. She could've been a great powerful demon like me. We could've ruled the world together. Sukuna's chest tightened and deeply sighed.
Suddenly, one of Sukuna's attendants rushed into the room while you were getting ready and stood in front of him. He knew he messed up for not knocking beforehand but it was urgent news. "I apologize for my rudeness, Lord Sukuna! I will receive any appropriate punishment for ruining your time with your lady."
Sukuna grunted in response. "Hurry up if it's that urgent! I will behead you if it's not to my liking." He threatened since his time and energy was precious.
The attendant's face turned pale for a quick second as he knew it's now or never if he wanted to keep his life. "The clan leaders and other sorcerers have arrested and sentenced Gojo Satoru, the Gojo head clan, to death! He will be executed for diminishing his responsibility to watch f/n l/n as her guardian! His death date is not announced just yet, but it should be somewhere next month in October. That is all I have to report!"
Sukuna cackled loudly, throwing his body back as his chest puffed out. This was the best news ever. His main enemy doesn't stand a chance against him anymore. Gojo Satoru will be out of the picture before they know it. "HAHAHA! I will spare your life. This report gave me more reasons to keep you alive! I guess we'll need another meeting to speed up our final plan!"
Sukuna may be delighted by this gracious outcome but you weren't. You were horrified by the news. You couldn't understand how Gojo allowed himself to get this sentencing when he doesn't deserve it either.
It's all my fault. Just pin the blame on me! Not on Satoru! I killed the higher ups on my own! They should be accusing me for everything! Melting down in your thoughts, your brows furrowed as your reckless behavior caused a big riff which will affect everyone. You should've wiped out all the sorcerers to prevent this. Of course, they'll take out the Gojo Clan because he's affiliated with me, and the clan is superior due to Satoru's birth. Now that the higher ups are dead, the clans are going to fight for power. There will be no harmony, only chaos awaits… I know without a doubt, they're going to kill me because I'm their biggest threat. And it also means they're coming after the people who care for me too… For sure they're going to kill Yuji, I can just feel it.
A new motive sparked inside of you and twitched your heart. This time it wasn't a curse controlling your thoughts and feelings, but the imbalance of power leading to your friends' deaths. Greed controlled everything and the only way to stop this was to eliminate everyone.
"I must destroy this system and the threats involved…" You finally regained your strength to mutter out your vengeance. The world will be covered in dark clouds and blood will be the only source of water contaminating all the lakes and rivers. The age of Kameko was over and replaced with your wrath purging the living.
