"So, if not Tyler then which of you would be interested in finding me a werewolf pack?"

"A pack?" Elena asked incredulously.

"What do you even need hybrids for?" Bonnie asked.

"A variety of reasons really. I've heard rumors of plans made by your group mates, what was you were called the Mystic Falls gang?"

"We're not plotting against you," Damon argued.

"Tyler has been suspiciously quiet. Perhaps I should convince you of the benefits of reaching one's full potential. Being a werewolf is exhilarating, but being a hybrid it's power. You strike me as someone who wants power."

"You can't be considering this," Damon told Tyler after a few moments of silence.

"Why not?"

"It's immortality, you should really think about that, Tyler," Stefan tried to persuade him.

"Stefan is right, take the night. Go back to Caroline's dance and get me either your agreement or one of you to help me find a werewolf pack by this time tomorrow," Klaus offered before going around the building.

"You know how to plan a party, Caroline."

"It must be nothing compared to the soirées you've been to, Mr. 1025-year-old."

"Perhaps, though I don't think I've met anyone with the same innate ability as you."

"Every time you say something to me, I want to believe that you're lying. For some reason, I don't think you're lying."

"Maybe because I'm not lying."

"And why would that be?" Caroline asked, smiling before walking away. "I have to check on the party."

"Tyler. Have you made a decision yet?" Klaus said after opening the door at 5 in the morning. "Was I right about you?"

"It has nothing to do with you," he stated answer unclear, but Klaus heard it. "What will happen to me?"

"I can't be exactly sure; but I'll give you some blood, kill you, and you'll drink human blood."

"But I'll be powerful."

"Incredibly. More than Damon, Stefan. A different type of power as Bonnie."

"Alright, do it."

Klaus bit into his arm and dropped some blood into Tyler's open mouth. He cracked Tyler's neck, body falling quickly to the ground where it would lie for a few hours.

There was a knock on his door for the second time that day.

"Caroline, please come in."

"Why is Tyler dead on your floor?" she asked more calmly than she really was, he had that effect on her.

"He decided to become a hybrid," Klaus said indifferently.

"He decided? How? You're sure you didn't force him into it?"

"Of course I didn't. I explained to him the benefits and that I don't know the drawbacks. He came to me," his initial anger at the question became a calm explanation, calm for him anyway.

"Sorry, I don't know where that came from," she tried to hide her face in something similar to shame.

"I guess I must remind you that you never need to apologize to me."

"Well, how does it work: becoming a hybrid, I mean?" she asked, all traces of shame gone.

"He'll wake up and drink some human blood. He'll become a hybrid."

"And what obligation does he have to you?"

"I might give him some tasks, but I won't force him to do anything."

"And you're sure it's human blood he needs? Not yours or a vampire's? Maybe a human, a vampire, and a werewolf?"

"Maybe we'll try those if it doesn't work. I'm glad you came by."

"I am too," she agreed, the two looked into each other's eyes. There was a tension between them that lasted for a few moments. They neared each other, ending up about a foot apart.

They were distracted by what sounded like someone traveling down the wooden stairs.

"Elijah now is not the time."

"Not Elijah," Tyler said after waking up. "What are you doing here, Care?"

"Yes, what are you doing here? Not that I mind, of course. You got distracted by Tyler's body on the floor."

"We should get Tyler some blood."

"I'll get him a blood bag."

"You keep blood bags in this house? I would have thought you would be all 'you're a vampire now, you're going to drink from the vein.'"

"New vampires can lack control, I don't think Tyler wants to hurt anyone."

"If you don't give me some blood I might have to."

"No need to get dramatic, here you go." Tyler downed the blood bag.

"That didn't help."

"Should we try vampire blood?" she asked hesitantly.

"We don't have bags of vampire blood."

"I have some."

"Werewolf blood would be a better alternative, he was a werewolf is now a hybrid and vampires were humans and drink human blood," his sister offered after appearing from nowhere.

Caroline turned suddenly to the other blonde, Rebekah smiled genuinely but turned it into a critical one.

"Who are you?" Caroline asked.

"Rebekah. I should head out, I doubt I'm needed here."
