He sped up to the door and knocked until someone answered.

"None of the Mikaelsons are available at the moment," a clearly compelled girl stated.

"I need to see Klaus, immediately."

"He is not available," she responded. Could compelled people have a bite to their voice? She certainly did.

What was he supposed to do? "Caroline, I'm so sorry." Come on, Tyler, think! Would Damon know where he was?

"This is Caroline?" the girl asked after a moment of contemplation and looking at the pair.

"Yes…" he responded warily.

"Come inside, Mister Mikaelson will be with you… soon."

The compelled girl walked away. She really couldn't have answered some questions?

Should he call Damon or Elena? Tell them what was going on? Not Elena, Caroline had told him that she and Bonnie were opening that coffin tonight. Damon, he would call Damon.

"My favorite hybrid, what's this about?" Damon answered the call.

"Caroline was bitten by a werewolf, so I took her over to Klaus'. You should have seen it. Some girl answered the door saying that no interruptions were allowed. The girl heard a whisper of Caroline's name and everything changed. We were being escorted into some lavish living room. You've seen my house."

"Do you know if anything's going on between Blondie and the Big Bad?"

"Caroline broke up with me yesterday," he explained.

"And?" Damon asked as if he hadn't answered his question.

"No, I don't think Caroline cheated on me with Klaus."

"That I can confirm, unfortunately," Klaus said clearly. "What do you need, Tyler?"

"Bye, Damon," he told the phone before facing Klaus. "Caroline was bitten by a werewolf. She's having weird hallucinations."

"Like?" His voice was venomous. Tyler could not hear it, but there was a not quite tenderness, no it was a passion, undercutting it.

"She was imagining herself in some future world. She had been a vampire for at least 500 years. She knew you but didn't recognize me. She knew you really well."

Tyler was unaware, but he hadn't hung up the phone.

Well, well, well Miss Mystic Falls was apparently the rumored Original.

"Stefan, I have a theory."

"What is it now, Damon?" Stefan asked, sounding bored.

"Barbie is an Original,"

"We knew that Rebekah was an Original already, Damon," his brother looked at him like he had two heads.

"Not Rebekah, Caroline."

"Caroline was human when we met her."

"When she had werewolf hallucinations, she imagined herself with him as an experienced vampire in the past. All the looks from Klaus. It's not unreasonable."

"What solid proof do you have?"

"Not much, but we do know that Blondie is a weakness of Klaus. Why don't we use it?"

"Do you think Caroline knows?" Stefan asked.

"I doubt it. She would've exposed herself by now. Whatever made her a vampire took away her memories. It's not that hard to believe."

"We should go check on the coffin that Bonnie's working on. If she's an Original like we think, she can verify."

After casting spells with Klaus' blood for over five hours, the coffin had finally opened.

"You did it, Bon!" Elena cheered.

She was still catching her breath, but Elena was stepping up to talk to her. She'll just rest for a little bit, Elena will be fine.

"-you dare," she finished spitting out at Elijah only to realize he wasn't in front of her. "Tatia? Did I die?"

"I'm not Tatia. My name is Elena, I'm pretty sure Tatia was one of the first dopplegängers. There was one between us, Katherine. How long have you been in the coffin?"

"Dopplegänger?" she asked before her fangs sunk into the poor girl's neck. Her blood tasted divine, and, well, she needed it to complete her transition.

"Hey! Get off of her!" was shouted at her by two people she hadn't seen. One of them held her back and the other one got Elena as far away as possible while staying in the house.

"I've had dopplegänger blood, now I just need some human."

"Why did you need Elena's blood?" the lighter-haired one asked her.

"We've known for decades that dopplegänger blood is what allows someone to be both a vampire and a werewolf."

"You're a hybrid?" the darker-haired one asked.

"I am."

"What year did you just come from? And who were you talking to?" Elena asked her.

"1100. I was talking to my husband," she said the last two words with as much disdain as she could muster. " I should introduce myself, Alvia Evansdottir."

"And your husband is?" the darker-haired one asked.

'Elijah Mikaelson."

"Elijah?" Elena asked, disbelievingly.

'Do you have a picture of Caroline on your phone?" the darker-haired one whispered to Elena. The girl promptly pulled out what she guessed was a 'phone.' The darker-haired one took the object from her.

"Do you recognize this girl?"

"Unfortunately. She's my cousin, Kára."

"Caroline's a dopplegänger?" Elena questioned.

"Not exactly," the light-haired one claimed.

"What is it, then?"

"Caroline's an Original," the dark-haired one answered with a smirk cockier than Kol's.

"Is that what you're calling us? Originals?"

"What were you called in your time?" Elena asked her.

"Well, by the time I was put in a coffin, there were maybe a hundred vampires in existence. We were mostly referred to as 'the Mikaelsons.'"

"We really need to stop seeing each other like this," she joked to Klaus who had just saved her from yet another werewolf bite. "Thank you, though. I'm sorry I keep-"

"If you would just let me know who bit you, there would be no need to apologize."

"I'm sorry," there was no way she was telling Klaus that Tyler had bitten her in a fit of rage for dumping him.

"Not even a hint?" Klaus asked her with his best 'couldn't you just do what I ask this one time, love, I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe and happy' face and voice.

"My lips don't have to be sealed, but on this matter they are."

"Really?" he asked her, his eyes widening even further if that was possible.

"You make it really hard to say no to, don't you. Is that with everyone? Because you seem like the kind of person to not take no for an answer with more violent methods than you do with me."

"Hmm, is that what you think of me, Love? I had no idea."

"Sure you didn't."

"As much as I would love to watch the two of you stare into each other's eyes for the rest of the night, I'm heading home," Tyler announced before walking out the door.

As soon as he walked out the door, Tyler got a text message from Damon.

'We figured it out. Caroline is a secret Original, married to Klaus, and her sister-in-law/cousin is another Original Hybrid that was looked in the coffin.'
