"What are your opinions on Klaus?" Elena asked the Original.

"Niklaus Mikaelson? He was unbearable as a human, then he became interesting. As long as he's with Kára, he's been declining though. What are your plans? How can I help?"

"Our plans? Why would we want your help?" Stefan asked.

"Well, I have plans. I need you, Elena. You and Caroline. I assume you'd want them on our side too?" Alvia told Elena.

"Why should Elena help you?" he asked.

"I knew them as humans, as newly turned vampires, and one for over a century. If you want Niklaus out of your hair, join me. I'm the only one with a chance of doing real damage."

"What exactly are you going to do?" Elena asked.

"Prepare for war."

They all sat for a moment to ponder what the Original meant before he asked "What do you want Elena to do?"

"I'll need her blood to make hybrids. When an Original sires hybrids they are bound even more than with a traditional sire bond. They'll do whatever they think pleases me. And they're more powerful than werewolves or vampires. Niklaus and I are the only ones that can make them, I plan on making more than he does."

"Where does Caroline come into this?" Stefan asked, concerned for his friend.

"She's like a shield, he would never do anything that had the possibility of hurting Kára. We'll need her to keep all of you, as well as me, safe. We'll have to get her on our side, let me handle that, and keep her from remembering who she is. Keep your friend, you don't want to meet Kára. I mean, Klaus loves her, what more do you need to know? Tell me you'll consider it. You have a day, I'll come back here and you can tell me yes."

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"I have a few introductions to make, hopefully, I get to see Caroline on the way. First, a few witches and then to my husband."

"Where will you stay?" Elena asked.

"My dutiful husband will figure that one out," Alvia left Elena's house.

"So? Do we help her?" he asked Elena and Stefan.

"Of course. We have to stop Klaus, I mean, what other options do we have?" Elena immediately responded. He looked to his brother.

"We can wait, she seems almost as manipulative as Katherine."

"But we have the same goal," Elena insisted.

"Look, I'll do what the two of you decide, but she will make us do things we don't want to. If the ends justify the means, I don't know. You can't either."

"What do you think, Damon?"

"I certainly don't trust new old Blondie, but I don't think I want her as an enemy."

"So we do this. I do have a question."

"Yes?" Stefan offered.

"What's a sire bond?"

"When a vampire is turned, there is a chance they will develop a 'sire bond.' Chances are increased if the turned vampire has especially strong feelings towards their sire. Apparently, the chances are nearly 100% in hybrid turns," Stefan answered.

"So, Tyler is sired to Klaus?"

"I really should be going, I need to get some sleep tonight," she told Klaus with a laugh.

"You could sleep here."

"Really?" she asked instinctively. Of course, she wasn't going to sleep in the same house as Klaus.

"Any time."

"Why? I really don't get it. Why are you nice to me? Most of my friends are plotting to kill you like constantly, but you give me an open invitation to your house. Why?"

"I fancy you, is that so hard to believe?"

"That's not an answer, but I have to go home."

"I'll tell you, eventually. I promise, love."

"I'll be back here tomorrow, I expect an answer then," she told him seriously, then walked to the door. She turned to give him eye contact to show that she meant it.

"I look forward to your visit," Klaus answered with a small smile bordering on a smirk, meeting her eye contact. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight," she returned before closing the door behind her.

On her way home, she ran into two people.

The first, "Just admit to me right here, right now that you're in love with him."

"Katherine."

"You're in love with me? That's so sweet, but I already have my heart set on someone else."

"Where do you keep disappearing to?"

"I'll tell you once you do what I asked you to."

"What's your deal with me admitting my feelings? This isn't the first time you've confronted me in the middle of the night about my feelings for Klaus."

"I've been chasing after one guy for over 500 years. Trying to hide it from yourself just makes it worse. Just say it here to yourself, to me, to one of your friends. One favor for turning you? Advice from a fellow vampire?"

"I like him, okay. I'll say that much. Now I'm going to bed. Stick around this time? I'd like to see you apart from weird confrontations when I'm too tired to have my guard up."

"No promises."

Maybe I do like him, but could I love him? Stop kidding yourself, Caroline. "I lo- is someone there?"

"Hello… Caroline."

"Who are you?"

"Your cousin. I'm going to tell you the truth. You are an Original vampire, you married Niklaus Mikaelson in 999. You were born in 984, your father left when you were young, your mom died when you were eleven. After that, you were told you would be married off to some old guy in town. You ran to your aunt, my mom, and begged her to get you out of it. The two of you ran, bringing me with you. After three years of running, we stopped. The two of us were made engaged to brothers who had previously been fighting over the same girl. You to Niklaus and I to Elijah. We were turned into Originals with them in 1001 when Niklaus made his first kill and unlocked his werewolf side. Esther, their mother, the one that engaged us to them, locked his werewolf side because there wasn't any dopplegänger blood to fuse the two. About a century later, she died. Then, I made my first human kill, unlocking my werewolf side. There was no one to lock my werewolf side, so my husband daggered me until earlier today."

"What? I really do need to get some sleep."

"I don't want my cousin back, I want to keep her blocked by you. If you ever say that you love Klaus, you go away and she comes back. So, you're not going to say that you love Klaus Mikaelson or any variation of his name," the last statement she compelled of the no longer in possession of Originals powers-vampire. "You're going to help me, not get in the way of my plans, not going to give any signs of compulsion to anyone even yourself, and if I ever ask you to act like a shield you're going to without any hesitation. Actually, make any order I give you. Got that?"

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"You made me go on the run for years and I was in a coffin for almost a millennium. I'm going to build up some power so that neither of those happens again. Go home, get some sleep."

Caroline's body reacted to the early compulsion and immediately took her home. 'Not this again.' She hated the way her body did things when she was compelled, all of her actions felt mechanical and forced. She had no control, even of a part of her mind. It was only the deep levels of thought where she would just feel like she was going to burst from the agonizing motions.
