Everyone is downstairs ready for the Christmas party. We did the house and relationship gifts already. Now we are waiting for Grandma Peggy and Holly to get here. There is a knock on the door and I make my way over to it.
I open it and I am very confused. There is a man and woman at the door. They seem to know this is their destination. They are kind of old and she oddly looks like Shelby.
I turn and see no one is near me. I turn back and they seem less cheerful. The guy looks worried and she is frowning. I should say something.
"Hello I am Quinn Carmichael" I hold out my hand "Can I help you?"
"We Uh we thought Shelby lives here" They share a look and the man looks back to me "Shelby Corcoran? Maybe she lives down the road?"
"No she lives here" I hold up and finger and turn "SHELBY! Two people are here for you! It is one older man and one older woman!"
"That is rude Quinn!" Shelby walks over and stops with her jaw dropped "M-mo-mom? Dad? Ho-what are you doing here?"
"Well your sister said she wanted to host but you said you were busy" The lady shrugs with a smile "You could have just said you were spending time with your sugar baby"
Shelby groans and walks over to the door "No!" I chuckle as she sighs "That is one of Rachel's girlfriends"
"Rachel is here?" The man steps inside and looks around "Where is she? Is the baby here too?"
"Yeah are they?" I look behind them to see a girl that looks similar to Shelby and the woman "I mean you have never shown any physical proof of either"
"Did she just say Beth is a lie?" I growl and get ready to pounce on this woman "Who the hell do you think you are bitch? That was my daughter!"
"Amelia you were supposed to be waiting at the house" The girl rolls her eyes as the lady sighs "Can we discuss this inside please?"
"I find the baby!" When the hell did he get all the way inside? "I think we guess right on her size!"
"You got gifts?" The lady nods and soon a huge bag is being brought over from off to the side "Wow..that is a lot"
"Yes well a long time of making up" She turns to me with a smile "I was teasing earlier I have kept up with Facebook! Glad to see your relationship is back to stable"
"There is nothing stable about them" I glare at Shelby's sister again "You do not scare me half-pint"
"Then maybe I do" I smirk as she freezes at Grandmas voice "This is a family Christmas! We will not be threatening other understand?"
"Yes Mam!" Shelby chuckles as her sister comes up with a glare "Please tell me she is not who you are with"
"That would be me" Maribel comes over with a big smile "I am so happy to meet Shelby's family! She has told me so much about you!"
Shelby's dad chuckles "I like this one! She can tell a good joke!" Maribel looks confused "Shelby has not said a word about us I am sure"
"Not cause of shame" Shelby closes the door behind Holly and Grandma "More so cause it just has not come up"
"Which is why we were not invited" This Amelia lady is annoying "But I followed the other not invited two here so"
"These are my grandparents?" Rachel is immediately hugged by the two and Amelia looks stunned "I take that as a yes!"
Amelia slowly walks around Rachel "She looks just like you" She cups Rachel's face and moves it some "Some hairline and everything!"
"See she is real and so is Beth!" Shelby smirks proudly "I told you I was not a useless wreck!"
"It would have been nice to get the photos you sent mom and dad!" Amelia turns toward Shelby with a frown "You never send me anything! I have tried contacting you but you never respond! Did you know I moved to Lima? Did you know I live down the road?"
"Did you know that I been in your shadow even though I am older?" Shelby and Amelia get in each other's faces "You have always been the golden child! Did you know that they never came to my games?!"

"She even has your voice" Amelia sighs and shakes her head "I never could sing like you"
"You always tried to sing high you Alto" Shelby smiles and playfully elbows her "We used to rock at Christmas time remember?"
"The S and A Christmas spectacular" Amelia chuckles and picks up the hanging guitar "We would blow the animals heads off"
"You know all issues can be solved with a good duet" Rachel walks over to me with Fran and pulls us together "Why not start over this Christmas?"
"What do you say?" Shelby looks at Amelia with hope in her eyes "New start?"

We all clap as they share a hug. After that we get properly introduced and more gifts get exchanged. This was not how I imagined Christmas goin this year. I would be lying if I said I hated it though.
This was one of my favorite Christmas days of all time. I can only hope every year in the future tops it. Our family grew a little bigger and that is ok. I love the fact that I got to be involved more of Rachel's life.
Next up is New Years and our next semester. I can only hope the good times keep rolling. I am no longer thinking negative. I know this next semester will be great.
