Synopsis: Flight or fight, a choice all life has made since the beginning of sentience. For whatever decision is made it is all for the sake of survival. However somethings are not always as simple as that.

With her grandson in hand, Yuki and Nyu now makes their escape. But for everyone else . . . . They are not ready to escape just yet.

Escape

Yuki's face remained stern as she watched a man being torn apart. She didn't feel neither sadness or satisfaction at watching him die. But justice was served as far as she cared as she needed to take Kohta and leave.

There were others here who needed help. However her concern was only for her grandson and getting him to safety. As cold as that may seem she couldn't change what her heart felt.

But sifting through Kohta's memories, he wanted to save his friends. So for his sake, she would honor his wishes and take them with her. Sensing all the presences throughout the network, there were only two left. Kiri was already making his way to the nearest exit. While Miyu was still in her wheelchair in isolation calling out for anyone to help her.

So Yuki collected Miyu as Nyu caught up to Kiri. With the three children in tow they made their escape leaving the facility behind.

As for the other diclonius . . . . They had other plans.

Yuki and Nyu attack on the facility had broken the backbone of their defenses. Without their technology or security to protect them, the humans were completely surrounded by angry psychics. For all the depravity they were subjected too the humans who tortured them were about to experience something far worse.

No matter where you looked there was only screams and gore as the walls, floor, and ceiling were painted in the entrails and waste of the once human staff.

Roughly seventy percent of the workers were instantly put to death. However they were the lucky ones by comparison. For those who were left the diclonius would not allow them a peaceful or quick end.

In the next couple of hours all throughout the night till morning, it was going to be a nightmare. Misery in it's most purest form. For the humans who were left to suffer were the ones who were the worse offenders. The ones who were directly responsible for the suffering they had to endure with the scarring of their flesh or the deaths of their loved ones.

Some of the guards who partook in the senseless beatings were either crucified or chained to the walls. Against them they were powerless to protect themselves. At being at their mercy, they would invoke the same terror onto them.

For the diclonius around them, their methods were different. But in the end it was all the same. The humans were made to be awake and aware. Watching at all times to every single thing they were about to be subjected too.

Some opted for slow and methodical ripping off pieces of them starting with their nails followed by their digits. Then small chunks of skin, muscles, and bones as they were being whittled away like going through a meat grinder.

Others were far more vicious choosing to tear them apart like a pack of rabid dogs as their guts were splashed all around the room.

Under normal circumstances they would have died from blood loss or losing their vital organs. However they were kept alive by the diclonius maintaining their lives. At the moment they were pushed to the edge of death they were quickly pulled back to a stable state only to start their mutilation all over again.

Elsewhere the humans were forced in front of a room where they were given a choice. Either go in alone or in a small group. Yet it didn't really matter. For the room was a weapons test site for their automatons. In the case of the humans they were given the same chances the diclonius had in that situation. But without psychic abilities or weapons to defend themselves this was a death sentence.

The last group to go had just finished as screams could be heard with grotesque sounds of tearing echoing in the background. With the next group forced in some of them vomited at the carnage as the room was still fresh with limbs and entrails of it's last victim. For their executioner, the very machine they built to defend them against their diclonius enemies as it's metal body was dripping wet in the blood from it's previous targets.

Identifying it's new enemy, the automaton did what is was designed to do. Be a completely ruthless, savage, amoral, killing machine. It didn't matter how it got the job done so long as it got the job done as it was equipped with a wide array of weapons to deal with any kind of situation it needed too. Having used up it's munitions and it's blades chipped or broken from deterioration it's only means to effectively kill were with it's claw like hands and superior strength. At it's base program it was designed to inflict terror into it's enemies demoralizing their ability to fight back.

With it's activation, the humans experienced it first hand.

In other rooms were human guards and staff who vented their lust onto female diclonius. Going through such humiliation and pain, they felt it was only right that they experienced what they felt.

Some of them were castrated as their testes and penile gland were ripped off. For whatever hole was made, a wide range of objects were used to penetrate them. A few received it through the rectum. Others who were especially cruel to the diclonius got it in both ends. As this was going on they would be repeatedly asked 'how did it feel?' or 'if they liked it?'. For the women that were assaulted, they were brutalized more heavily if they didn't give a favorable answer with either exciting screams or positive responses.

As the humans squealed in pain like pigs they were asked those same questions. If they didn't give a positive response they could easily find bigger objects to use.

In another part of the facility, the human staff were strapped into chairs or operating tables. Here they were allowed to choose to either be surgically operated on or drugged.

However they were all prototypes each having their own problems.

For the drugs, the humans experienced a wide variety of effects from having extreme hallucinations which would eventually burn out their nervous system or feeling like acid was poured into their veins as they were being melted from the inside out.

For the prosthetics, due to their poor construction or programming they immediately went haywire causing severe pain to those they were put into. But that was if they survived the procedure as no anesthetics or sedatives were used as the diclonius tore or cut out whatever related body part or organ it corresponded too before putting the new one in pinching tissue or nerves where it needed to go. If they didn't die from initial shock, it was going to drag on for a couple more hours till they did.

As minutes became hours as morning light stretched along the horizon, the diclonius got their revenge. The torture was only a means to an end. Seeing their soulless eyes, their spirit was completely broken. They were pushed to the point that they didn't care anymore if they lived so long as it was over.

Just as Yuki predicted, reinforcements came as ships and carrier planes were sent after losing communication with the facility. However by that time the diclonius had already escaped.

As soldiers and reconnaissance drones surveyed the area, the scene was something right out of hell. Sight, smell, and sound, these three senses were instantly assaulted the moment you walked in. Sweeping the area they were surprised to find survivors among this massacre.

But simply the diclonius chose not kill them for two reasons. The first was a message. A message of absolute retribution that humanity would pay for what they've done. The second was more personal. Now shells of their former selves, these memories would stay with the survivors till the end of their days. After all they needed to squeeze in years of torment into a few hours. If they committed suicide after this, that was their own choice.

Yet unknowingly, Yuki had pushed into motion something that could not be stopped now. It was always there as hatred between the two races was just boiling under the surface. But with the release of the captured diclonius, that's what started the events to come.

Reconnecting with the telepathic network, something akin to a virus had spread rapidly to all the diclonius around the world. An indescribable hatred and blood lust that consumed them. It would eventually come to be known as the haufen effect.

With the telepathic network corrupted, there will be no peace between humans and diclonius.

As the world watched in terror to what was to come, it was the dawn to the next world war.

To be continued . . . .

Author's notes: Hope this chapter was fine as I don't like gore much. Even against folks who really had it coming.

As things are, shit is about to hit the fan. You'd think after several hundred years people would learn their lesson by now about the foolishness of these kinds of actions. Yet people for some reason never learn in how utterly pointless it all is. Once caught in the waves of this chaos it's usually hard to get out of it. But taking a step back to look at it all you really begin to see how utterly insane it all is.

If there are any questions or concerns feel free to ask as I'll try to answer them.

So thank you for reading and I further extend my gratitude if you can review as well.
