'Another Year passes and Rosalina is eight now. Rosie comes down the stairs listening to the MP3 player that she got for her birthday. Good morning, Mom, how are you? I'm good but, what did you just say? Good morning. No not that— How are you? No, not that, you just called me Mom. Well, yeah you are my mom— Well yeah but what happened to Mommy.
Mom I'm 8-years-old now— So? Well, I just think I'm starting to get a little too old to still call you mommy. Says who? Look mom I have to get to school, I'll see you later. All right see you later, have a good day, I love you. I love you too mom.
'Rosie leaves and catches the bus to school. Once she gets to school Rosie meets up with Bonnie, and the girls get to class.
Alex has a day off and decides to go upstairs and visit her parents. Alex, hey this is a surprise. Hey mom, I need to talk to you. Alex sits down on the loud orange couch and is taken back to when she was a kid.
So, what's going on Alex? It's about Rosalina, she called me mom earlier. Is that a problem? Yeah, she thinks that she is too old to still call me mommy. This sounds like it's really bothering you— She is growing up too fast, I mean she walks around the house listening to music all the time, I don't know what to do.
Alex, do you know what you are feeling? You are feeling what every parent feels at some point. The overwhelming feeling of your child growing up, its normal trust me. I just don't want her to grow up, because then that means that she won't need me anymore, and I'm not ready for that.
Oh, Mija no parent ever is, even now I miss all of my kids. Justin is gone, and Max too, but honey that's the best part. Seeing them grow up being there every step of the way, and making sure they can handle the world without you.
Thanks mom its nice having you around, I miss you, dad too. Oh, honey we miss you too. 'Alex hugs Theresa and heads back down to her place, Alex calls Mason to see if he wants to go out somewhere and spends the day with him.
Hey you, okay? Bonnie asks Rosie. Yeah, I'm fine, so how was your break? Oh, it was awesome, I spent the whole week with my dad, we went to the wizard world fair, and got some fried unicorn horn, and then we came back and... 'Bonnie looks at Rosie's face and notices how depressed she looks.
Rosie what's wrong? Nothing I'm fine. Stop just don't; you really think I believe that? I don't care what you believe. Uh Excuse Me?! I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. Rosalina seriously what's wrong?
It's... it's just, every other girl has these amazing stories about their dad's and the cool stuff that they do with them. And how their dad's come and pick them up after school, and take them out for Ice cream. And I don't have that, and I never will.
Oh, hey it's okay don't cry. Oh, look little Rosie is crying how pathetic—Shut up Jenna, or what? You gonna cry all over me, jeez no wonder you don't have a dad. 'Bonnie sees Rosie bawl up her fist and gets her out of the cafeteria before things get worse. Come on Rosie there not worth it— Oh, no you're not leaving because of me, are you? Bye.
'Bonnie takes Rose into an empty classroom and tries to calm her down. Hey-hey Rosie look at me it's okay, just calm down. "Rosie can't calm down she closes her eyes, bawls up her fists and screams" Suddenly desks and chairs go flying, and Rosie finally clams down.
Whoa! Bonnie screams. Did I do this? Rosie asks— Yeah, I didn't even know you had your powers yet. I didn't, but when Jenna made me angry I... I felt something, like I wanted to explode. Are you okay Bonnie? Yeah, I'm fine, a little freaked out but fine. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to I just— Rosie it's OK you don't have to say sorry; we should probably clean this up though.
Where are we going? Just hang tight luv we're almost there, all right and open. Oh, my goodness, Mason, this is beautiful! Happy anniversary my love. It's our... Oh, My God, I am so sorry, I completely forgot. Alex darling it's all right, look we met 7 years ago and we have been steady on for 5 of those years.
There is something I wanted to ask you, and it is very important. I wanted to ask if you were okay with me moving in with you. Oh, wow I was not expecting that— I'm sorry to spring this on you so suddenly, it wasn't right— No, no, Mason this is so sweet, and so are you, I would love for you to move in with us. But before we take that step, I have to talk to Rosalina about this, she needs to have input in this decision— Of course, take however much time you need.
'The school day ends and Rosie takes the bus preparing in her head how to tell her mom about what happened. Rosie gets home and is greeted by Alex who tells her to sit down and brings a snack.
Listen sweetheart I need to talk to you— About what? About something important. I went out with Mason earlier and he asked me a question— Are you guys getting married?! What no— Oh, sorry, so what did you want to talk about? Mason asked me if I was okay with him moving in with us, and I said yes, but you get a vote too. Yeah, sure that would be pretty cool actually, Mason is really nice and I like him a lot.
And his accent is really cute. Mph tell me about it, so that's a, yes? It's a yes. 'Alex hugs Rosie with a smile on her face, then starts to make dinner. So how was your day? Oh, you know same Ol' I got my magic today. You did, oh sweetie I'm so happy for you! Yeah, then I kind of blew up a classroom.
You did what? Not on purpose— What happened? Jenna was being mean to me again, and then I just got mad and the next thing I know chairs and desks are flying across the room. Was that girl Jenna there? Did she see you use your magic? No, it was just me and Bonnie. Is Bonnie, okay? Yeah, she's fine. And are you okay? A little, I just got so angry it was scary— It's okay we'll work on your control all right, for now try not to let it bother you too much.
'A few days pass and Alex is getting Mason settled in. Sorry I don't have a bed for you, but the couch is pretty comfortable. That's quite all right, I glad just to be here. Ah hello Rosie— Hey Mason. Rosie, are you going somewhere? Yeah, I'm meeting a friend on Waverly Place, I'll be back in an hour. Whoa-whoa-whoa, where do you think you're going young lady, and who is this friend you're meeting? Its nobody, just a friend.
Uh-huh and is this "Friend" of yours a boy or a girl? Just a friend. I have to go I'll see you guys later! Where is she going? And who is she meeting? Alex, I'm sure it's fine. We will both know if she is in trouble all right. You're right I just... I worry about her— As you should.
Sorry I'm late Mr. Wagner. Oh, Rose you are such a kind girl, but you do not have to keep doing this. Oh, it's no problem Mr. Wagner, I'm happy to help. Here we are— let me get the door for you. Dad? Ah Rose, this is my Daughter Anna— Hi nice to meet you! Nice to meet you too. Where do you want your bags Mr. Wagner? Just set them anywhere dear.
So, you're the girl who's been helping out my dad, he's told me about you. So how much? What? How much do I owe you? No, no, no, no, I don't want any money. Oh, okay sorry, I'm just used to people being in it for themselves— I like helping, you don't need to pay me. You're a really sweet girl you know that? Your parent must be really proud of you. My mom is— Oh, I'm sorry sweetheart I didn't mean to— it's okay you didn't know.
Oh, shoot, I never introduced myself! My name is Rosalina, but you can call me Rosie. Well, it was very nice to meet you, Rosie! Well, I have to go, but I'll see you tomorrow, bye, Mr. Wagner! Goodbye Rose. Dad! Yes, I feel it too— I don't know why but, I feel like I know her. Like she has been a part of my life before. You don't think she...? It is a possibility.
Rosalina leaves Mr. Wagner's building and goes back home, where her mom and Mason are sitting together on the couch watching tv. Hey Rosie— Hey mom- "Rosie goes in the kitchen to grab a snack and sits down with her mom and Mason and watches tv with them till bedtime."
At school the next day, Rosie talks to Bonnie about her dad, and finding out more about him. Listen Rose I'm sure your mom just has a lot to deal with and that's why she hasn't told you anything. Well, yeah you might be right, but she hasn't said anything for 8 Years, why? Rosie your mom loves you, why don't you just ask her? Yeah, I'll just ask her, thanks Bonnie.
So, is there a reason you have never asked your mom about this before? Well, it's like you said she's always super busy, and I never have the time. Rosie I'm serious, just talk to your mom— I will Bonnie, I promise.
After school that day, Rosalina gets home and gets comfortable before going to talk to Alex. 'Knocking' Mom! Hey sweetheart, how was school today? It was fine, but I need to talk to you— Of course, come on in. What's going on? For so long now it's just been us, and now Mason, and I like that, it feels like we have a family.
Rosalina honey, what's wrong? You look really sad. Why don't you ever talk about my dad? I... where is this coming from? I just... I see all of these other girls with their Daddy's and it makes me feel sad, because I don't have one. But sweetheart you have me— I know mommy, and I love you, but I feel like there's a part of me missing.
Why don't you talk about him? Rosie... Is there something wrong with me mom? Is that why my dad isn't here? No, baby there is nothing wrong with you! 'Rosie crying' why do I feel like this? What's wrong with me? Hey, Shh it's okay, there is nothing wrong with you, nothing at all, you are perfect, you hear me.
I'm so sad mama! Please don't leave me! Oh baby, I would never leave you, never. "Alex just continues to hold Rosie in her arms as she cries, Alex is heartbroken seeing her little girl like this, it kills her, but she knows that she can't tell Rosalina the truth, not yet."
Rosie cries until she finally falls asleep in Alex's arms. Alex takes her downstairs and lays Rosie on the couch and sits next to her, holding Rosie's head in her lap as she sleeps.
