Chapter 2: 'Rookie'
"I'm called 'Kid Flash'," I said to my new friends, "I come to your world from an alternate world to warn you of a coming invasion, please every word I'm telling you is the god-honest truth," I asked of them to believe me. The one called 'Cat Noir' crossed his arms, "of course you're not convinced, okay buddy, here's the who, what, where, when, why,"
"Invasion? Like aliens?" asked Ladybug
"I'd say worse than that, sweetie, huge in number and far more dangerous," I explained, "you see, in my world, there's a place called 'Apokolips', and it's Lord, Darkseid, but he has an underling that's setting her sights on invading Paris, Granny Goodness, don't let the name fool you, she's bad to the bone, and has a group of warriors called the 'Furies',"
"So who are the 'Furies'?" asked Cat Noir
"The meanest little she-devils that come from that planet...Lachina, Gilotina, Mad Harriet, and Stompa, that's why I'm here, to give you two a helping hand, and some speed," I concluded, "I've fought these femme fatales before, they will stop at nothing until you two meet your maker," I further warned them, and hopefully this time they will believe me
Cat Noir lightly nodded, and put his arms at his side. The Miraculous Ladybug approached me and I walked with them as we strolled along the River Seine and not far from the Notre Dame Cathedral, "So you came from an alternate world to our world to warn us about this...'Granny Goodness' and her 'Furies'? Is there anything else we need to know?"
"This is my first mission," I confessed
"Oh, that's perfect," Cat Noir sassed back
"Shut up, Kitty-Boy," I fired right back
"Hey! You take that back!" he demanded
"You'll be on your back in half a second,"
"I'd love to see you try," he challenged
"Will you two stop?!" Ladybug pleaded, but it looks like her words fell on deaf ears as Cat Noir looked at me, ready for a challenge. I lightly sighed. I won't hurt him, but I want to teach him a lesson. The only thing that will be bruised is his pride. I can tell these two have a close bond. I leaned my hip a bit to the right, and winked to Miraculous Ladybug
"Cata-WAH!" just as he was about to use his power, I got right behind him to give him a leg sweep, and put him on his back. Wonder Woman taught me that when I first joined up. The leg sweep is actually a strike to the Achilles. All in a split-second. I combined that with a spin to face him. I smiled, not pridefully, but in hopes that he learned his lesson
"Wow! You are fast," he concluded,
"Thank you," I said, and I walked up to him to give him a hand up. He accepted it, and I lifted him back onto his feet, "look, I'm here to help, okay?" he nodded, and was finally convinced, "good grief, what is with you guys, and having to do things the hard way?" I asked as a semi-rhetorical question as that seems to be a common thing in all universes.
"It's one of those mysteries," said Ladybug
"Ain't that the truth?" I teased back to her
"I'm just glad this is all settled," I replied, "according to one of my colleagues, the invasion is supposed to be in two days, so if you have any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer them," I added, Cat Noir scratched his chin in thought while I scratched a little itch at the side of my hip. As with his feline persona, a curious smile came onto his face
"Just how fast are you?" he asked of me
"I can get from 'point A' to 'point B', it's just that 'point B' can be in another dimension," I explained to his surprise as he seemed to conclude on that is how I got here. I lightly chuckled, "but...if you want a demonstration, do you have a stopwatch?" I asked, Ladybug nodded, I said to myself to keep my speed to my average while I'll race around Paris.
Like 'The' Flash, I too keep it civil with his baddies. Get a few punches or kicks in, tie them up, and leave them for the police. The guys like Captain Cold, Heatwave, and Mirror Master all know me. They're usually a bit disappointed when I arrive on the scene, and call me 'Girly Flash'. Now that I think about it, they can make good baddies for these two.
"Ready?" asked Ladybug, I nodded, "go!"
Time seemed to crawl to slow motion while in the 'Speedforce' as the time from her pressing the button felt like two minutes. I was off, and I explored every street and part of Paris that there is to see. Bolts of lightning came in my wake as I slowed down right as I passed her, "wow! Three seconds, flat," she said showing me the time on her stopwatch.
"And over 1,126 km/h," she added as well
"Hey, not bad for my average," I replied hearing those numbers, "one other thing I need to warn you two about, now I said invasion, and that mean the Furies are probably not going by themselves, they're going to be bringing a little back up, while you have 'Akuma' in this world, now you two will have to learn to fight Parademons," I explained to them
"Parademons, what are those?" asked Cat Noir
I am starting to enjoy being a teacher to these two heroes. Well, not new to this world, but new to this knowledge, "Parademons are like the 'Akuma' that come from Apokolips, but they don't need the black butterfly to be mean and nasty, they are already made that way," I stated, having faced them myself when Apokolips invaded my own world once.
"If you're wondering what you'll be up against, here" I said, giving them my handy notebook after flipping to a page that has a drawing of a Parademon that I kept for reference. Cat Noir looked at it first, and then handed it to Ladybug. She nodded, and handed it to me. They seem to understand just the kind of danger Paris is in with the coming invasion
"Is your drawing that bad or are they that ugly?"
I chuckled to Cat Noir's tease, "No, they're that ugly, they're really big nasties, sharp claws and sharp teeth, but they're dumb as a rock," I said to conclude the class, "well, from start to finish, I think that'll be all you need to know about what's coming, hopefully you two'll have enough to ready yourselves," Cat Noir and Miraculous Ladybug nodded to me
"We'll really need your help," said Ladybug
I grinned and nodded, "That's why I'm here,"
