Calli's Pov…
I don't know what was coming over me, but I just felt very nauseous today. It all started when we had breakfast, when I felt like I was going to lose everything that I ate. I just thought maybe it was just my stomach not agreeing with me what was on the menu and thought it would go away later on, but it didn't for some odd reason. I knew I couldn't be coming down with being sick since I had no fever or any other symptoms. I took another drink of ginger ale hoping to ease the tension for awhile at least until after patrol tonight. "Are you sure you want to come tonight Calli? If you don't feel good, its not a big deal", Leo said, looking slightly concerned
"No, no need for me to bench this one hun, besides we are doing the split patrol tonight and its all hands on deck", I said, with a smile "I will get over it, I am sure its nothing"
"Well okay if you insist", Leo said "So I picked us to do the route going uptown while Raph takes east, Mikey west, and Donnie south"
"Sounds good, I was hoping to take the uptown route tonight especially since there has been more activity going on with dragons and I would let to test out the new move Ancient One had taught you that you had taught me sensei", I said, with a giggle
He chuckled giving my cheek a kiss. "Oh so I am sensei now? I like the sound of it", he said
"Well technically you are now love, so definitely get use to it", I said, with a smile
"Got the routes for us chef?", Raph asked, coming up to us both
"Sure do, got you on the east, Calli and I are taking uptown", Leo said
"You sure you both want to head up that way just the two of you? Maybe you guys should at least one of us go along, dragon activity up there has been really high", Donnie said
"Look we need to be covering all areas for dragons and besides we couldn't let one of you come on the same route while another area is left unprotected, if we could have three I would say yes but we don't", I said
"But I can go on the route with you", Ellie said, walking up to us as she was putting one of her tessens in her belt
"There we are! Ellie can join in with you guys, you can have an extra little shell to watch your own", Donnie said
"Yeah about time the little seashell got out there and kicked some butts!", Mikey said, walking up beside him
"Totally!", Ellie said, with a bright smile
"Guys be realistic", Leo said "Its the most dangerous route right now and Ellie hasn't done this before"
"I am not sure you guys, it might be risky to do this, especially when it comes to her safety", I said, nodding with agreement with Leo "You know dragons are no easy adversary"
"Oh come on its not that hard, I have done the practice runs in the tunnels many times with everyone", Ellie said
"Awwww come on you two look how much the little princess loves the family business", Raph said, giving her a noggie as Ellie nodded with a smile
"Mom can I please go on my first patrol? I would really love to show you my training", Ellie asked, with a hopeful smile
"Mmmmmm", I said, looking up towards Leo with my hands resting on my hips "What do you think Leonardo? You think she is ready?"
"Well", he said, crossing his arms sounding a bit unsure
"Please!", Ellie said, with big glittering eyes and huge smile
He then slowly began to smile. "Well you have had a lot of practice and your skills have proved me of your capability", he said "I guess we can allow this night to be a special occasion"
"Really? Yes!", Ellie said, with excitement doing jump before doing a back flip
I giggled at her enthusiasm. "Well you better get yourself ready if you want to leave love", I said
"All over it Mama", she said, before running to her bedroom
I felt an arm go around my shoulder to see Leonardo, looking proud but I could see a glint in his chocolate brown eyes of concern. "What are you thinking?", I asked
"I just hope that her training and efforts will pay off tonight, I hope I did good enough for her", he said "Don't get me wrong I am glad she is able to come, I just hope we don't get into trouble she couldn't handle"
"She has excelled in everything we have taught her so far Leonardo, we just have to wait and see", I said, with a hopeful smile "We have to let her true potential show"
Soon Ellie rejoined us with tessens in their holsters, ninjas stars securely tucked behind them, and her mini katanas behind her shell. "You are taking your katanas too?", Leo asked
"For good luck and just in case", Ellie said with a smile holding to one of the handles behind her shoulder
"Smart, I like the way you think honey", Leo said, with a proud smile
"Here Ellie", Donnie said, walking up to his niece as he got down on his knee "In case if you get into trouble, use any of these, they will help you on patrol tonight"
He handed her a small variety of items which included, smoke bombs, binoculars, and a small metal device. "This will be the most important, it tracks all of us where we are by color coordinates and if you get in trouble, hit the green button and we will come running okay?", he said
"Will do Brainiac", Ellie said, with a thumbs up
"Hey and count on how many heads you bang tonight okay Ellie?", Raph said
"I bet I will get more than you tonight", she said, with a laugh
"You are on!", he said, as they gave each a high five
"I hear a lot of excitement going on out here, is something happening my children?", Splinter asked, coming up to us with a warm smile
"Granddad! I am going to be going on my first patrol tonight! Daddy and Mommy are going to let me show my training and potential!", Ellie said, excitedly
"Oh are they now?", he said, letting his paw stroke his whiskers
"Yeah! I am going to defeat bad guys and become a hero!", she said
"This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to experience the ways of the ninja my granddaughter, but I will warn you Eleanora, the world above is a very dangerous place, you must listen to your parents every command on what they tell you to do and rely on the skills that we have taught you and don't hesitate for anything", Splinter said, sounding serious yet gentle with her "The enemy will not give you a second chance for a strike"
"Hai Grandpa", she said, bowing quickly
"I bid you all a peaceful patrol tonight and may you all return safely", Splinter said
All of us bowed in respect to him before he left to retreat to his room. "Ready for this Ellie?", I asked
"More than ready", she said, with a confident smile and nod
We started to climb from the lair each of us taking different direction to head above the surface to start on the many different patrolling routes we have made over the years to different parts of the city, leaving Ellie, Leo and I to take on the southern route. "Good luck Ellie!", Mikey called out
"Thanks Uncle Mikey!", Ellie called out
We took to the manhole cover that leads up to the route as I began to climb up the ladder partially before looking back down. "Alright, follow close Ellie and be quiet", I said
"Got it Mama", she said, softly with a thumbs up
Climbing up to the top of the ladder, the manhole cover slowly was slid off as Leo and I peaked out from the darkness with Ellie slowly peaking her head out in between the two of us. "Alright first night of patrol, you are going to get a good experience on what we do Eleanora on how we protect our home and its people", Leo said "Now what is the one thing we need to always remember about going topside?"
"Never be heard, never be seen", Ellie said, with a smile
He gave her a proud smile looking down at her. "Ada girl", he said
"Okay, now we are going to sneak out and head up to the rooftops, watch how I do it", I said, jumping out pushing myself up against the wall of the building in the shadows
I ran towards the fire escape taking a hold of the metal railing before swinging myself up, doing a zig zag pattern before flipping on to the rooftop edge, looking back down to them. "Wow, that was so cool!", she said
"Shhhhh remember silence is golden in the code of the ninja", Leo said, hushing her softly
"Ooops sorry", she said, covering her mouth with her hands
"Alright now me", Leo said
He jumped out of the sewers doing a cartwheel off a dumpster as he jumped higher up in the air grabbing a lamppost swinging up, doing a backwards somersault landing on his hands and knees right next to me. Our daughters eyes lit up with wonder as I gave her a thumbs up. "Alright Ellie, let's see what you got", I called out, softly
Ellie looked around her before she climbed out of the sewers somersaulting twice into the darkness before she started to take out a pair of shuko spikes from her belt and slid them on top of her hands. She started to climb up the wall towards the two of us, but what caught us off guard was she looked back behind her and jumped off from the wall heading down towards the ground. We both gasped wondering on what she was doing, but she went towards the wall on the other side the alley till she landed on her feet on the wall running up till she made it up to the edge of the rooftop and kicked off doing a spiral in the air. She tucked herself in doing numerous back flips in the air till she landed behind us on top of an air conditioner. "Good enough?", she asked, with a smile
We looked at her quite surprised seeing her skills were quite advanced even for just simply getting up on the rooftops. "Sounds like you have been paying attention to all our missions", Leo said, looking impressed
"I know them all by heart", Ellie said, with a grin
"Well done, very well executed love", I said, walking up to her "Think you can do rooftop jumping?"
"Does Uncle Mikey love marshmallows on his pizza?", she asked
"Oh he sure does", I said, with a giggle
"I got this", she said, giving a thumbs up "Let's go stop some crime"
We continued to do our run along going towards the east and I must say I was impressed on how fast Ellie was able to keep up with the two of us. For a first time at rooftop jumping, she seemed to be taking it in strive. When I first started out doing this, it took me a couple of weeks to get it down right but she made it look like she had been doing this for a long time. Her training has really made her turn out so far to be a skilled kunoichi, I was really looking forward to seeing how her skills can perform when it comes to us taking on an enemy. Not long into the nightly patrol, there was not much crime to go around, not even spotting Purple Dragons or any thugs in the alleys. We came to a stop at the edge of a block to rest for a moment from all the running we have done. "We haven't even spotted one bad guy yet", Ellie said, with a bit of annoyance
"Its still early on honey, and not all patrols are always going to involve an encounter", I said
"She is right, you just have to patient Ellie, and who knows we might not run into any trouble tonight", Leo said "As long as we patrol and keep an eye out, then we are doing our duty"
"Okay Daddy, I do hope though I can kick a bad guy's butt for my very first patrol", Ellie said, with a confident smile
I giggled. "We will just have to wait and see", I said
Ellie's Pov…
I was so looking forward to my first patrol with my family, every time I heard the stories of the patrols and the bad guys that they defeated, it really made me excited and I wanted to be able to go on patrol with my family and be just like them. When they told me I could finally go, I was so happy that I wanted to show off my skills and kick bad guys butts. I really wanted to make them proud, but when finding no bad guys to go against, I really wished that something would happen. As we rested on the rooftop I looked out towards the glowing city and smiled. I have been up here many times before when Mommy and Daddy would take me out to watch the stars and to explore the exciting spots in the city. While I was the flashing lights looking around, I noticed some shadows crawling up on a side of a building. I thought maybe at first it was my uncles near by, but when I saw long tails I knew it wasn't them. I couldn't see them well but I remembered one of the gadgets Uncle Donnie gave me before I left, I pulled out a small pair of binoculars and put them up to my face. I pushed a red button on the top to zoom in closer to get a better look and I saw what looked like scaly lizards. "Hey Mom, Dad why is there lizards climbing up the building over there?", I asked, pointing out
"What?", Mommy said as she and Daddy came up behind me
"Let me take a look Ellie", Daddy said, as I handed him up the binoculars
He took a look through and shook his head. "Oh those aren't lizards Ellie, its the dragons and it looks like they are trying to sneak into the Natural History Museum", he said
"Dragons? The ones you guys have been fighting?", I asked "The ones you told me stories about? The ones who took me when I was little?"
"Those are the ones, unfortunately they are about as stupid as they dangerous", Mommy said
"I prefer to think of them is being only stupid", I said
"We better find out what they are up to", Daddy said
"Finally we get some bad guys to fight!", I said, happily
We zipped across power lines before jumping on to the side of the museum and climbing up to the top. We peeked inside through the glass and saw many dragons were inside and going towards a huge sword behind glass. As we snuck inside we crawled across one of the beams till we were over the dragons. One dragon let out his huge claws from his hand and began to scratch at the glass till punching it smashing it open. "Why would they be wanting to take that sword?", Mommy whispered
"What do we do?", I asked, softly
"We will have to take them head on", Daddy said
"But there is so many of them, they look really strong", I said
"Don't worry Ellie we have taken on many more than this at once, we can do this", Mommy said
"Watch how Mommy and I do it", Daddy said "Calli lets go!"
My parents jumped down from the beam we were hiding landing quiet behind the dragons in the dark, that didn't know they were there. As a dragon was about to reach in to grab the huge sword, chains were thrown out wrapping around other dragons dragging them backwards. I watched in amazement on how fast the chains caught around each one leaving the last dragon alone with the sword. He looked behind him as he let fire glow from his hand to see the other dragons were nowhere in sight. "Show your faces!", he yelled
Mommy and Daddy then flipped out of the dark with the swords in their hands in fighting stances. "I am sorry but that item isn't for sale and we don't take kindly to shoplifters", Mommy said
"So we kindly ask if you please return the merchandise or either way you will end up in a pile defeated", Daddy said
This was really interesting to watch how my parents were taking on the situation, they could defeat this dragon very easily and return the sword. But I heard noises coming up from above my head and I looked up to see more shadows going around them in a circle and just as they jumped out from hiding, I crawled out from hiding on the beam. "Dad! Mom! Heads up!", I called out
They heard my response and they were quick to dodge dragon claws and weapons flipping out of their strikes and right away a fight broke out. Watching the dragons fight, it looked like they were trained pretty well whoever trained them, but they were no match for Mommy and Daddy as they took them out one by one. I noticed one was coming in close up to Mommy without her noticing and I decided to take action and help by jumping down from the pillar landing on the dragon slamming him down with my shell. "Oh thank you honey!", Mommy said, looking over her shoulder as she kicked away a dragon
"No problem! Woah!", I said, as I bend backwards avoiding a punch to the face
I grabbed the dragons arm twisting it behind his back before jumping in a spin to kick him in the back away from me. "So this is what fighting dragons is like", I said, unsheathing my tessens running at two dragons
"Welcome to the world of patrolling Ellie", Daddy said
"Awesome!", I said, with a smile
Daddy and I ran towards each other as we gave each other a nod. He jumped up grabbing on to a hanger holding art pieces as I jumped up behind him grabbing on to his ankles as the dragons smashed into each other. I swung off from Daddy's ankles as I spun in the air down towards three dragons kicking each one in the face before somersaulting up to my feet. "Cowabunga!", I said, with a fist pump to the air
"Leo!", Mommy called out "He is getting away with the sword we have to stop him!"
I saw Mommy and Daddy go running after the dragon taking the sword out from behind the glass. I was running behind them hoping to help but the sword started to glow in the dragon's hand and Mommy suddenly stopped to push me aside. "Ellie look out!", she said, as I fell to the ground
The dragon swung the sword and it knocked both Mommy and Daddy back making them both hit the wall. "Mom! Dad!", I yelled, running to them
They were both hurt as they tried to get up but I could see little shocks coming off from them. It must of been from the sword. "Mommy, Daddy are you guys okay?", I asked
I then heard laughing as all the dragons we fought started to surround us. "Ellie run", Mommy said, softly
"What? No I can't leave you!", I said, trying to pull at her arm
"Honey you have to, remember what grandpa said, get help", Daddy said
Dragons started to grab at my parents as I struggled to hold Mommy to me. "Let go of them you bullies!", I yelled
"Grab the brat", one dragon said
"Ellie run now!", Mommy said
I screamed as I ran from the dragon about to grab away from them as I looked back to see Mommy and Daddy struggle against the dragons. "Sweetie go! Run!", Mommy called out, quietly
I saw a few dragons started to chase after me as I ran through the halls of the museum trying to escape. I wasn't sure on where to go I have never been here before. I was going to come here with Uncle Donnie when he was going to take me to teach me about different things. I ran down a hallway where it had a red exit lit sign on the ceiling going towards the end. But when I got to the door I pushed on it, it wouldn't open. "Uh oh", I said, as the dragons started to come closer towards me laughing
I backed up till my shell touched the wall behind me and I saw a window big enough for me to crawl through. I jumped up pushing the window open as I heard the dragons started to run while I tried to wiggle out. I felt one grip my ankles as I struggled to pull free from him as he tried to pull me back. I wiggled and wiggled more till I felt his grip let me go, but I started to fall from the air screaming going towards the ground. But before I could hit the ground I saw a clothesline and a sheet hanging from it. I reached up with my hands to grab at the sheet and used it as a parachute as I landed softly on the ground. "Like Uncle Mikey would say a perfect three point landing", I said
I then heard noises coming to me as I looked around for a place to hide. I then noticed a trash can big enough for me to hide in as I climbed inside and slid the lid over where I could still see outside. I saw the dragons had my parents in chains over the biggest dragons not moving. "Mommy! Daddy!", I said, softly
"Notify majesty we caught two of the mutants, but don't speak of a word about the child", one dragon said "A scared child doesn't have the bravery to take us on by herself"
As the dragons and my parents disappeared into a puff of smoke, I climbed out of the trash can. "Too scared to take on huh? I will show them", I said
But I realized I had no idea where they had gone and I was all alone. I didn't have a phone where I could call my uncles on patrol and have them come help me. "Oh no what will I do?", I said, to myself "I have to save them!"
I had to think of a plan on what to do. "Okay Ellie you can do this, think of a plan like Mommy and Daddy would", I said "What would they do?"
As I sat down on the ground, I felt something clink against the trash can I was up against. I looked down to my side to see the metal device Uncle Donnie gave me before I left on patrol.
"Wait why would Uncle D give me this?", I said, taking it out of my belt
I turned it on by pushing a blue button and it showed a grid of where I was standing and I hit a red button and the screen zoomed to where I saw a pink and blue dot not far away from my green dot. Wait, Uncle Donnie said to me that the dots were of where everyone was located. It was the tracking system that he had set up in case we needed help. "Yes! Mom and Dad are that way", I said, looking in the direction that they were "Hold on you guys I am coming!"
I pushed the green button like Uncle Donnie told me to, to send out help as I went running through the streets following the blue and pink dots till my own green dot was closing in. I knew I was getting close as I ran faster. When I came closer I saw I was at a strange place and there were dragons guarding it from the outside. "How am I going to get inside?", I asked, myself "What would Uncle Mikey do?"
I felt something jiggle on my side and I reached beside me to see white circles in my hand. "Smoke bombs! That's it!", I said "Time for slam dunking!"
I snuck closer and closer till I came up to the guards that were outside. I unclipped the smoke bombs as I flipped up in the air and threw them over the wall till I heard small explosions and white smoke coming up in the air. I started to climb down the wall till I made it over and began to quickly run across going past guards coughing and trying to get through the smoke till I made it to the huge doors sneaking inside. "Mommy! Daddy!", I called out softly as I walked inside looking around "Where are you?"
I didn't see or hear them, I was hoping they were okay. I heard the sound of footprints coming towards me as I quickly ran hiding behind a pillar and I saw more dragons coming in. "Majesty is please to know we caught two of the reptiles and he will be able to start his revenge by feasting upon the two and we will continue the mission of capturing the rest", one dragon said
Feast? Eating? I gasped softly, they were going to eat my parents! I had to stop them! I was going to sneak out and slip away from the dragons but I accidently heard a loud gong sound and I looked over my shoulder to see the handle of one of my swords rattle against a gong in the room. "Awww sewer apples!", I said, to myself
"Who's there?!", one dragon yelled
I quickly climbed a pillar to hide myself as dragons came in where I was standing. I then noticed one of my ninja stars was on the ground as a dragon picked it up. "I recognize this, its the turtles clan symbol, one must be here in this room", he said "We must find them and bring them to majesty"
"Like Uncle Donnie tells me, its time for some shell shock!", I said, softly
I jumped down from behind them and took out one of my katanas from my shell. "Like you could", I said
They turned around quickly seeing me in a fighting stance and each one growled as they took out large swords. "What's this? A little freak of nature? Come to save your Mommy and Daddy?", one said, as the others laughed at me
"That is my mission and to kick your butts too!", I said
"Like a child as small and pathetic as you could defeat highly skilled warriors", another dragon said
"Language! I am a kid you buggy eyed razor skinned idiot!", I said, with an angry face
They just started laughing at me more until I had enough and I ran right towards the first dragon, jumping up and roundhouse kicking him in the head as another dragon swung his sword down at me. But I was quick to block the attack before running my feet up on him and kicking him in the jaw sending him backwards. The two others that came out on either side of me and I flipped backwards as they crashed into each other face to face. I swept my legs to knock one dragon out giving him a ridge hand in the neck and then I punched the other in the gut before pushing him away. More came at me as I smiled with confidence taking them on and using my skills I was able to take each one down till more were in piles on top of each other. I saw they weren't getting up and I knew they were not going to fight with me anymore, I wished my parents were here to see this.
I was feeling proud till I felt something attack me from behind and I started rolling on the floor as I felt a pair of smaller claws and scales against me. I looked up to see a smaller dragon with huge teeth too big for his size trying to grab at me. I growled as I tried to push him off of me as we both continued to wrestle on the ground. "So you are the little pest that has been making a fuss in here", he said
"Yeah and you are the annoying midget dragon that mom told me about", I said, punching him in the face off of me
He rolled backwards till he stopped and hit the wall. I walked over towards him and I placed my foot down on his chest, causing him to wriggle underneath me. I threw one of my tessens down by his head as he gulped looking at me afraid. "Mom was right, you are about as wimpy as a wet noodle", I said, I put my other tessen in front of his face "Now where is my mom and dad?!"
"I will never tell you!", he yelled
He choked as I stepped harder down on him before he coughed out. "Alright, alright they are in the main chamber, the master has them ready for his feast", he said, barely being able to speak "Head through the doors, you will find them there"
I stepped off of him as I kept my tessen to his head. "He is not going to making a meal out of my parents!", I said, as I pulled away and took off running
I ran through the defeated piles of dragons till I reached the big red wooden doors with golden dragons painted on them. I slowly opened the door and there was pits of fire everywhere and I gasped hiding in the shadows peeking out to see Mommy and Daddy on the ground wrapped tightly in chains looking really hurt. "Mom! Dad!", I called out, softly
But when I tried to go out to help, I heard heavy footsteps forcing me to hide again and I could see a very large dragon enter the room with a red cape tied around his neck. My parents struggled against the chains on the ground trying to get away, but the big dragon kicked my Mommy in the stomach making her yell out and roll against my Daddy. "Callista! You stay away from her Dragon Lord! You are nothing but a monster!", Daddy yelled, looking at him with anger "I won't let you hurt her!"
Dragon Lord suddenly punched up at my Daddy's face making him fall on his shell, making blood come from his snout. I gasped softly and I snuck closer in letting my hand grip my tessen, waiting for the right moment. Dragon Lord then grabbed at my Daddy's chains wrapped around him letting his sharp teeth show. "Then I shall have the pleasure of devouring you first so you won't have to hear your precious wife's scream when I slowly tear her to pieces", he said "Such a shame my soldiers didn't catch that little shell freak of yours to join the party"
He unsheathed the sword and swung it above his head about to attack at Daddy before I threw my tessen across the room, sending it right to Dragon Lord's face slicing at his forehead. He roared in pain as he pushed Daddy away back down to Mommy as he growled angrily. "Who dares throw at me?!", he said
"That would be me", I said, walking forward with an angry face "The little shell freak!"
My tessen came flying back to me as I caught it, making the Dragon Lord look at me with red glaring eyes. Even though he was much bigger and stronger than me I didn't move. My parents looked to my direction looking at me with fear and relief. "Ellie", Mommy said, softly
"Ahhh the little one I nearly made me a light snack before devouring the main course has grown", Dragon Lord said
"I know you", I said, glaring at him "I was told of what you did to me on that night to me and my mom and dad...Dragon Lord"
"Well please to see you are able to witness the demise of your precious parents, but I think I shall make you my first entry of choice", he said, rubbing his claws together at the edge
"Thought you were smarter than that by now, guess not", I said, taking out of one of my swords behind my shell, letting the blade touch the floor "You can't defeat us, nothing takes down a Hamato"
He laughed wickedly at me. "You really think a child like you can defeat someone like me?", he asked, pointing the sword that was stolen
It was much bigger than me, I looked at it a bit scared but I knew I had to be brave and I had to save my parents. "Wise parents told me you shouldn't judge a book by its cover", I said "You might just be scared of me"
"What a brave little turtle you are, nothing ever frightens me, but you will be terrified of me when I am through with you!", he said, before roaring coming at me with high speeds
He swung his sword at me before I flipped backwards avoiding the attack before jumping up on my foot round house kicking him in the face and taking my tessen slicing him across the face. He roared holding his face as he looked back at me with streaks of blood coming down from his face growling at me. I glared back as I held a fighting stance growling back. "You fight well, but we have only just begun", he said
I stood in a stance waving my fingers towards me. "Bring it on", I said, with an angry look
He charged at me again and I took my sword clashing my sword against his, running towards him. His strikes were harder than my own even harder than my parents when we did matches. I tried to sneak in an attack by smashing on his foot, but it did nothing to him as he continued to slice at me as I dodged his moves. I back flipped trying to get in another attack but he was quick to avoid it. Our swords clashed again as he growled down at me and I gave him an angry look as I spun my sword around making him loose the grip on his as it flew up in the air striking the ground. I pulled out my other sword and did a somersault towards him before jumping up in the air. But before I could strike him, he gripped on to the blades of my swords making me look at him scared before he threw me away making me crash on the ground. "Ellie!", Daddy yelled
"Leave our daughter alone!", Mommy screamed
I tried to get up but a heavy stomp forced me down making me have a hard time to breathe as I looked up to see Dragon Lord had the sword pointed down at me with his metal boot on top. "You can't win, you will never win!", I said, trying to shove his foot off of me
"Foolish child, I am thousands of years old and have the most strongest and skilled training of any mortal, what makes you think you could-", he said
But before he could say anything else I growled and kicked my leg up to hit where it hurts the most, thank you Uncle Raph for telling me that. I flipped up pulling out my tessens slicing at his face again before knocking my fists down on top of his head smacking his face to the floor, before he growled looking up at me with the scratches I made.
"Yeah well I am 6 years old and I learned this from a rat!", I said
I did different attacks on different parts of the body before giving a tap to his chest, causing him to fall to the ground face first. "Told you nothing takes down a Hamato", I said, kicking him in the head
I picked up my swords and my tessens from the ground before putting them back in their holds, then I turned around to face my parents with a smile. "You were right, Sato Oshi strike never fails", I said
"But how did you..?", Daddy asked, looking at me confused but amazed
"I do extra practice before bedtime", I said, walking towards them
They looked at me with smiles of relief, but I then noticed they were starting to look scared as I came closer. "Ellie! Behind you!", Mommy cried
I saw a huge shadow come running up behind me quickly and I couldn't even turn my head to see what it was till I felt a hard hit on the back of my head and I screamed out in pain as it really hurt. I went falling hard to the ground and when I tried to look up I couldn't move anything and my vision looked like I was underwater. I tried to call to my parents, but I felt like I couldn't speak or do anything. It started to become dark around and that's when I saw Dragon Lord's huge shadow cover me and he had the huge sword swung above his head, about ready to strike down on me. I shut my eyes tightly trying to curl up as much as I could, but nothing came. I slowly opened my eyes and I saw my Uncle Raphael fighting against him blocking his sword with his sai's to save my life. I could hear muffled yelling as I saw Uncle Donnie had freed Mommy and Daddy from the chains and started running to fight against Dragon Lord. They looked really angry and they were fighting so hard and fast that he started to struggle really quick. I tried to get up by using my arm, but my head felt so heavy I slumped back down to the ground. For some reason my eyes started to slowly close and I tried to keep them open, but it was getting hard to as they started to get closer and closer together.
"Ellie! Ellie! Can you hear me?", a voice said, as I felt myself being turned on my shell
I tried to open my eyes, but I could only do a little as I saw my Uncle Mikey looking down at me worriedly with his hand on my cheek. "Eleanora, hang on, keep looking at me okay sweetie", he said, as he continued to stroke my head
"Uncle Mikey...help...it hurts", I said, quietly
I saw my Daddy come down on the other side of me and I felt myself being picked up carefully by him, looking very scared. "We got to get her out of here!", he said
My Daddy and uncle ran with me as I looked to see Mommy jump on top of Dragon Lord gripping a hold of his head and twisting it very fast and hard, before pushing him away causing him to crash into a small pit of fire in a big metal bowl making fire go on the floor. My eyes started to close again as much as I tried to keep them open, they slowly closed and I fell asleep against Daddy's chest. I don't know how long I was asleep for till I started to wake up to bouncing against something. My head was still hurting, what Dragon Lord did was really hard. I looked up to see Daddy was running with me in his arms in the tunnel that I knew was to home and I could hear him, Mommy, and Uncle Donnie talking. "My baby, its okay, you are going to be okay honey", Mommy said, looking down at me with tears in her eyes kissing my head "What's happening?"
"I am not sure, I won't know, not until I get a proper examination in, I have to get that swelling under control", Uncle Donnie said
"Please be careful with her, she might have a concussion", Daddy said, looking down at me worriedly
I tried to say something but I just couldn't. I was just hurting so much that I wanted the pain to stop. "Stay outside, I will do everything that I can", Uncle Donnie said, taking me from Daddy's arms as I saw Uncle Raph keeping Mommy and Daddy back
I saw them looking at me as I tried to reach out to them with my hand, but my eyes started closing quickly that I fell asleep again.
Leo's Pov…
This could be any parent's worst nightmare. Nothing could prepare you for anything like this. My little girl had suffered a terrible injury and I wasn't able to stop it. Seeing how she hard fought to save us to get us out of harms way, I couldn't of been more proud to see how she used such precision, strength and courage in her skills that she demonstrated against our enemy. But when I saw the attack unfold and my daughter hit the ground, how can you describe your world just shattering right in front of you? Seeing your pride and joy not moving and now her life is hanging in the balance, not even knowing if she was going to make it.
We waited outside of the lab what seemed to be like hours and as soon as Donnie came out, everyone gathered but my wife and I were quick to him to check on the welfare of our little girl. I was hoping that she would be pulling through and would make a recovery, but when he looked at us, I knew something wasn't right. "She has suffered a hard blow to the head causing a severe injury and she has slipped into a coma, if she hemorrhages, I will have to do surgery", he said, looking at us with grief
Those words hit me like a ton of bricks and I could feel myself lose my breath and everything just stopped working. My heart stopped, my knees were almost about to give out from under me, and my train of thought stopped working. "Ellie...", I said, softly, as tears started to roll down my face, as I hid my face in my hands
I could feel to the grip of my wife surround me as I immediately latched on to her as I cried into her shoulder. This wasn't suppose to happen, not for my daughter. This was the last thing that I ever wanted to happen, I wanted to make her first patrol a special one and now it was just turning into a nightmare.
The first two nights I never left Ellie's side as she slept on with being hooked up to oxygen and a heart monitor. I just didn't want to leave her thinking that if I did, the worst possible could happen to her. I barely got a wink of sleep and didn't even bother with eating, all my mind and focus was on my little girl. She continued to lay there not even moving an inch and all I could think about was how I wasn't able to stop that attack, that it should be me there and not her. It kept repeating in my mind over and over again, telling me how much of a failure I was as a leader and as a father.
The third night I kept my daughter's hand in my own as I kept rubbing my thumb over her soft skin, praying for her to wake up and shine those bright blue eyes like she always does every time I see her. "Leo", a soft voice said
I felt the warm soft hands of my wife touch my shoulders as I could feel her cheek rest against my temple. "Sweetie, you haven't eaten or barely slept in three days, you must be exhausted, you should rest and get some food into you", she said
"I just can't Calli, I can't leave her, not now", I said, shaking my head, drying my wet eyes with my hand "This is all my fault, if I only was able to break out and stop it"
"Leo you can't take the blame for everything that goes on in this family", she said, pulling a chair beside me sitting down "There wasn't anything we could of done to stop it...it...it just happened too fast...we just couldn't"
"It should be me there, not her", I said, softly "I made a promise to her, the night she was born, that I wouldn't allow anything happen to her and now I feel like I have let her down and I don't even know if I can forgive myself"
"Honey as much as you and I want that to happen, you can't dodge every bad thing that comes your way", she said "She did what she did to save us, she knew what she had to do and I am sure she knew what could of happened, but I think that didn't matter to her as long as she got us out"
"I just want her to wake up, I can't stand seeing her like this", I said, gripping my daughter's hand tighter "Its nothing but torture and its eating me alive"
"Believe me neither can I, I keep praying every second of everyday", she said, softly with a sigh "That a miracle will happen, but I know she will have the courage and strength to fight back and come home to us, she is strong and smart as a whip, just like her father"
I looked up at her and she gave me a sad smile and I pulled her into a hug as I could feel her soothing kiss against my head. "I miss her Calli", I said, softly crying into her chest "I miss our daughter"
"Leo, believe me, I do too", she said, softly crying herself
As the night went on we just stayed with her, with the occasional visits of her uncles, grandfather and aunt bringing flowers and her favorite stuffed animals in the room, hoping that would help bring the healing faster. Each giving words of prayer and love to our little girl, hoping she will pull through. But even with love and prayers it didn't seem to be showing any improvements in her condition and the fear was starting to set in. Calli had left to make us tea to help us get through the night as I stayed with Ellie. She looked at peace, even though her head was wrapped in bandages and an IV drip needles were in her left arm. "Come on Ellie, please fight back, come home, we all miss you", I said, softly
I heard the door open and I saw my brothers come with Splinter with Splinter carrying a small bundle of peach blossoms, Ellie's favorite flowers. "Anything on the little princess?", Mikey asked, hopefully
I shook my head looking down to my daughter as Splinter came up behind me resting his paw on my shoulder, making me look up to him. "Your daughter's spirit has been grievously injured Leonardo, and we have all been praying for her since that very night it occurred. We have all done what we are able to do, now its up to her to find the path to return to us all", he said
"I know we all have, but I can't keep seeing her like this, it pains me as a teacher and as a parent", I said "I mean who wants to see their own child in this state?"
"No one does, but you have got one tough, smart and brave little girl Leo, she doesn't give up that easily", Donnie said "We just know she will make it"
"Yeah like she always tells us nothing takes down a Hamato", Mikey said
"I just really hope you all are right", I said, softly "I just need something from her, something to give me a least more hope"
"Only time and her strength will tell my son", Splinter said, resting the peach blossoms beside the other vases of flowers next to the table beside her bed "Come everyone, let us leave them be"
Everyone started to leave beside Raph who stayed in his spot, and he came walking over to the other side of Ellie sitting down beside her. "You know I snuck in here the other night when you were passed out and just started to talk to her about the good things that have happened while I was with her, that could be something you should try", he said
I thought about it for a moment before giving a nod. "I will try anything I can, I have to get something from her", I said "Thank you"
Raph looked down to Ellie before giving her shoulder a rub. "I hope you wake up soon princess, I need my wrestling partner back", he said "I love you"
He kissed her forehead before getting off the bed leaving the two of us alone. Maybe Raph's idea may do something, it would be better than just sitting here and doing nothing. I moved from my spot on the chair till I sat down on the bed she was lying on and I laid down beside her pulling her close to my heart carefully. It was like when she was little and would fall asleep on me right before bedtime when I would read her stories about ninjitsu legends or past missions we have had and she would snuggle in close for warmth. My hand stroked her head softly as I continued to lay there with her, trying to think of what to say. I was looking back at all the moments we had together, trying to pick which ones would I think would be best to get a response.
"You know right when I found out your mother was pregnant with you, I was really hoping that my first child would be a little girl. After hearing the story of my father's daughter, my sister, I wanted to be like him and raise her under his guidance to become a kunoichi how he wanted to. Seeing you for the first time, how could I describe that feeling of being so proud and blessed to been able to be your father and be the one to raise you. When I looked into your eyes, I saw something, I saw you grown up and it was everything that I could of imagined how you would turn out to be. I know its a long time away before you are but now I couldn't be more proud and happy to see how far you have come. You showed pride, heart, strength, and courage in every training session we had and to tell you the truth you even mastered things quicker than I did when I was your age. I was surprised yes, but that only made the moment much more awarding knowing you would have the skills you would need to take on this role. There wasn't a moment gone by since you were born that I haven't been thinking of you and how proud I am that you will take my place as leader when your time has come. I look back at all the moments we had together as father and daughter and I cherish them. From when you took your first steps, to your first work of art you created, to when you started your first day of training, you just keep accomplishing so much each day. I know you will be the leader that this clan will need you to be and so much more. I know you will make so many good changes and differences in the world. I will tell you I was scared for tonight, but I knew I had to let you show your strength and skills, I thought you wouldn't have had to deal with an injury this severe ever, especially not on your first patrol. Eleanora I am so sorry that this had happened to you and I wish I could of stopped it, I want you to know that everyone loves you so much and they are very scared for you, we all want you to come home. Please find your way back, I can't lose you, it will break my heart. Be my brave little Green Bean and find your way back, please wake up", I said, softly kissing her head letting tears escape from my eyes once more
I still couldn't see any response from her. I thought now that this might be the end and I wouldn't be able to see those bright eyes and see that beautiful smile again. I feared that my only child would be dying in my arms this very second. I had let her down and I couldn't do anything about it. I brought her small hand into my own taking it carefully and I pressed my lips against her head kissing it softly. "I love you Ellie, I love you", I said, softly
I sighed softly and just when I was about to get up and slid off the bed, that's when I heard a soft moan. My head whipped around to see slight movement coming from my daughter and I quickly knelt down taking her hand. "Ellie, Ellie can you hear me?", I asked
"Daddy? Mommy?", she said, very softly
There was more movement as she moaned turning over on her shell. "Calli! Everyone! Get in here quick!", I called out "Come on Green Bean, you can do it"
Calli, my brothers and our father came rushing in through the doors and went to the each side of her seeing our little girl finally moving. "Baby, baby, Ellie come on honey, we are here, we are here", Calli said, rubbing her head softly
Ellie continued to moan till she finally fluttered her dark blue eyes slowly open. "Mama? Daddy?", she said, softly with a smile
"Oh thank goodness!", I said, immediately hugging her in my arms
"My baby, you are awake!", Calli said, in happiness hugging her tightly around us both
Everyone began to cheer happily as we just held her tight, just feeling immediate relief wash over us to know that our daughter didn't lose the fighting battle to stay alive and that she was finally awake and here with us once more. She had fought her way back and didn't give up us. "What happened? Where am I?", she asked, as we pulled away, as she looked around
"You are home sweetheart, you were knocked out pretty hard on the head", Raph said
"We thought you weren't going to make it, we were so worried about you", I said, kissing her head
She sat up with a groan rubbing her bandaged covered head. "Ow, he got me good, worse than when I fell on my head on Uncle Mikey's skateboard when I was four", she said
"Way worse than that dudette, your head swelled up like a balloon", Mikey said
"You had a pretty serious injury Ellie, you are very lucky it didn't cause permanent damage", I said
"Very lucky indeed, Uncle Donnie said if he had struck harder and lower, you probably wouldn't have waked up ever again", Calli said "But we are just so happy you are awake, its going to hurt for a little while, but you will be alright now that you are awake"
"You guys weren't kidding when he fights like a hundred ninjas", she said, with a small giggle
"Oh Ellie what were you thinking?", I asked "You could of gotten yourself killed"
"But Daddy, he was going to kill you and Mommy", she said "I couldn't of let that happen, he was going to eat you both"
"We are telling you this its because we all love you, we couldn't lose you Ellie", I said, looking at her worriedly
"I know", she said, with a nod
"Believe us honey, if he had taken you away from us, we would be doing things we would regret for the rest of our lives", Calli said
"I am sorry, I just wanted to be a brave ninja like all of you", she said "From all the stories you all have told me, I wanted to be just like that"
"We understand that you do, but Ellie you shouldn't have had to put your ownself at risk for us, its our job to protect you", I said "Not the other way around"
"But that's what you do for a team, you take care of each other, no matter what the price is", she said
Splinter stepped forward resting his paw on top of Ellie's hand. "You are growing more wise beyond your years my granddaughter, have you been drinking out of my tea of wisdom?", he asked, with a hearty chuckle
"Who told you that?", she asked, with a giggle "I thought my ninja sneaking skills were getting good"
He chuckled again. "No one my dear, but you do speak the truth, a true ninja will do anything in his or her power to keep their family safe no matter the consequences", he said
"It's what you always told me from the start", she said "I would do it again if I had to"
"Well we won't be letting happen again not anytime soon", I said, shaking my head "Its going to be quite a while for you to recover, but what matters is that all of us are together and you saved us"
"She actually saved someone else too Leo", Calli said
I looked over at her as she gave a small smile. "What do you mean Calli?", I asked, sounding a bit confused
"Tonight I found out the reason why I was feeling sick this morning, it turns out that the family is going to be growing again", she said, with a bigger smile and resting a hand on her plastron "Everyone, I am pregnant again"
A look of shock came to my face as I could feel my heart stop at her words, as everyone began to happily cheer for the news. "Are you serious?", I asked, with a huge smile forming on my face
She nodded with a hearty and tear rolling down her cheek as I immediately leaned over the bed to hug her tightly to me as we embraced. "I didn't think I was, I thought it was just something I ate, but sure enough we did it", she said
"Oh Calli, this is wonderful, I can't believe it I am going to be a dad again", I said
"Am I getting a brother or sister Mama?", Ellie asked
We slowly let our embrace go as we faced her. "You sure are big sister", she said
"Oh that's awesome!", Ellie said, throwing her fist up in the air "About time!"
All of us started to laugh as Splinter placed his paw on top of Ellie's head. "You have shown not only wisdom, courage, spirit and heart in your battle tonight my granddaughter and despite what you endured you still fought your way back home, and your kept your family safe and even your unborn sibling", Splinter said "We are all proud of you"
"Thank you...grandad", Ellie said, softly, letting her eyes slowly close
"The danger has passed, now we can let her healing begin", Splinter said
Everyone started to slowly leave the lab as I covered up our daughter more with her blanket and tucked her stuffed turtle in close to her as she latched on to it mindlessly. Calli rubbed her shell and shoulder tenderly before placing a kiss to her cheek. "We love you Ellie, if you need anything we are just right outside", she said, softly
Ellie began to sleep on peacefully with a small smile forming on her face. The tension in the air around me was lifting and I felt myself finally being able to relax and everything began to slow down. Knowing now that my daughter was now on the road to recovery to where she will soon be back to herself again was a gift to me that I will forever be grateful for. I knew she would be able to fight back, Calli was right she was smart and strong as a whip. I felt a pair of my wife's warm hands meet my shoulders as she stood behind me and I pulled her in closer by the waist. "I am so glad our prayers were answered, I don't know what I would of done if the worst had happened", she said
"I wouldn't neither, but tonight was a gift, a gift that no one will ever be able to comprehend", I said, looking up to her with a smile "We have our daughter safe and alive and we have our second child on the way"
"He or she is going to have the best sister ever", she said, rubbing her plastron softly
"That they will", I said, as I started to plant small kisses all over on her plastron as Calli giggled
"And they will for sure have the best daddy ever too", Calli said, pulling me closer hugging me tight
