Kara went to the kitchen and poured herself a cup of eggnog or tried to. The eggnog dolloped into her cup like a thick yogurt than the usual consistency of something close to nearly melted ice cream. She looked around to make sure no one was watching as she lifted the cup and took a tentative sniff. It didn't smell off, but it didn't smell like any eggnog she'd had. She took a sip and her frown deepened as it was not eggnog, but she couldn't put her finger on what it was reminding her of though.

"Who made the eggnog this year?" Kara asked Danny in a low voice as he sidled up next to her.

"Wolf." Danny said.

"It's really weird." Kara murmured as she passed her cup to him. Danny took a sip and wore a perplexed expression.

"Maybe it's how the Australians have their eggnog. It's not bad, but it's very sweet and thick." Danny remarked before he took another sip.

"You trying the eggnog?" Miller asked.

"Yep, it's something." Danny remarked as he didn't hate it. But he wasn't entirely sure he loved it either.

"Man, it's so good but you need a spoon to eat it." Miller said.

"Wolf." Danny called

"Yeah?" Wolf asked from the living room where he was chatting with Ravit.

"You make the eggnog?" Danny asked.

"Eggnog?" Wolf asked, confused as he came over to the group while other party goers were wrapped up in their own conversations to notice what was going on.

"The eggnog." Danny said as he gestured to the large punchbowl and ladle that Wolf had brought to the party.

"That's not eggnog, Mate. It's custard." Wolf told him before he took a sip of his beer.

"What?" Miller asked.

"It's custard, I was told to bring a dessert. I made custard." Wolf explained.

"But it's in a punchbowl." Danny stated, as if Wolf had broken some kind of dining etiquette by putting a dessert into a bowl made purely for drinks.

"Yeah, my family loves custard so I always make a large batch and it's easier to carry it in a punchbowl and dish it out." Wolf said in a matter of fact tone, as it was practical and made sense to him. Clearly it didn't for the others as they realised they were drinking part of their dessert. Wolf wore a bemused smile as he suddenly realised what was going on.

"We've been drinking the custard thinking it's eggnog?" Burk asked as he'd caught the tail end of the conversation.

"Apparently." Kara said, she felt a little stupid for confusing custard for eggnog.

"You Americans are weird." Ravit said before she snorted a laugh as she topped up her wine.

"I was wondering why you were all drinking it now before dinner instead of waiting for dessert. But I didn't want to say anything in case it was some American tradition that I didn't know." Wolf said.

"No, it's not." Kara told him. Wolf and Ravit laughed as everyone looked a little shocked and betrayed as they looked down at their cups.

"It's really good custard." Miller said.

"Mmm, yeah, probably go great with the apple pie that Kara made." Danny added.

"It's amazing with all kinds of desserts." Wolf assured them.
