Chapter 9: Why Don't You Listen?
Maura arrived at the hospital. She walked at a casual pace as she made her way to the nurses station.
She gave the nurse a polite smile then said, "I'm looking for my wife, Jane Rizzoli."
The nurse took a minute looking at her computer screen, "Room 212."
Maura thanked her then went to the elevators.
When she entered the room a nurse had just finished checking Jane's vitals.
Maura heard her quietly say "good luck" to Jane then turned and smiled at Maura as she left the room.
"Hi." Jane said with a sheepish grin as Maura glared at her.
"I distinctly remember asking you to refrain from reinjuring yourself."
"I didn't sprain my thumb again. I broke my collarbone." Jane told her, "which technically means I didn't reinjure myself."
Maura sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, "You're going to be the death of me, I just know it."
Jane reached out to Maura who took her hand and Jane pulled her closer. She kissed her on the cheek, "I'm sorry, I'll try to be more careful."
"Please do." Maura said then sat down on the edge of the bed and squeezed her hand, "but honestly Jane, maybe rollerblading isn't for you."
