Sinnoh Arc: Giratina
The guy with the cactus haircut slowly turned around. "You're too late, kids. Whatever you wanted to accomplish-you'll never make it." Behind him, Dialga and Palkia straightened up again. Their eyes were dark and the chains around them glowed bright.
"Oh, by Arceus... No..." Jacky held her breath. "Stop that right now!",
"You have no business here anymore." The guy laughed. "I, Cyrus, will reach my goal and no one will stop me. Dialga, Palkia... Attack!" The two roared. Dialga reared back and shot a powerful beam at them. Energy gathered on Palkia's arm and it sent it after them in one motion. Absol jumped away and Gardevoir teleported. Mari and Jacky ducked and the attacks left a deep crater in the ground. "Uaaah!" Jacky slapped her hands over her head. "Dialga, Palkia! Please! You have to listen to me! Stop it! You're not in control of yourselves! You must come back to your senses, or all of Sinnoh will suffer!",
"They can't hear you, my dear." Cyrus grinned as Palkia shot a beam of light skyward, and a powerful Draco Meteor rained down on the Spear Pillar. "Mari! Jacky! We've got to get out of here! NOW!" Gardenia shouted over to them. Cyrus swung himself onto Dialga's back. "Hahahah! Go, Dialga!"
Dialga formed mystical glowing stones around himself and sent them off at its foes. "Get out of here fast!" Mari grabbed Jacky by the wrist and yanked her along. Absol and Gardevoir followed them. "Don't let those little maggots get away!" Cyrus shouted. "They shall be punished for even trying to defy ME!"
Dialga roared loudly and sent another Roar of Time in their direction. "Skarmory!" Mari called out her flying-type Pokémon and withdrew Gardevoir. She jumped on the steel bird and it pushed itself off the ground. Screeching, it soared into the sky. "Noivern!" Jacky jumped onto the back of her dragon and reached out to Gardenia so she could climb up behind her. Then, both Absol and Leafeon were withdrawn and Noivern followed Skarmory. Palkia screamed and pushed off as well. It formed a sphere in front of it and a powerful Hyperbeam was unleashed at them. Skarmory narrowly dodged it. Dialga threw its head back and fired a off a Flash Cannon. Jacky leaned forward and Noivern put in a dive. The bullet whizzed over them. Then suddenly, both flying-type Pokémon ended up in a space in the air where they've been before. "What the...!" Mari looked around. "What is happening?!",
"A time trap!" Gardenia exclaimed. "Don't forget, Dialga is the master of time!"
Colorful spheres formed around them. Cyrus grinned. "Very well done, Palkia... Dialga. Now destroy them." The two reloaded attacks. "Oh no! We're not getting out of here!" Mari screamed.
"We're screwed..." Jacky squinted her eyes in despair. "That's it! We're finished!" The two legendary gods fired attacks at the two, when suddenly, a loud, third roar followed. Something came rushing from the direction of Veilstone.
"What is that?!" Jacky screamed in a panic. The shadow kept moving toward the attacks Dialga and Palkia were firing at them. A blue sphere formed and a powerful Dragon Pulse shot out, destroying the two counterattacks. "GROOOAAAAAAAH!" The shadow reared up and a Shadow Ball at least the size of a truck tire whizzed through the air and thundered against Palkia. The ruler of space roared and the spheres around Mari and Jacky shattered. Dialga hissed and fired a Flash Cannon at the new attacker. The shadow dodged and another Dragon Pulse hit Dialga. Skarmory and Noivern were able to move again. "It's Giratina..." Gardenia realized. "It's broken out of the Distortion World!"
Cyrus cursed and Dialga attacked Giratina, but the shadowy monstrosity again dodged and dropped before a portal suddenly opened near Jacky and Mari and they were pulled inside. Mari screamed, but even Skarmory's dogged attempts to resist were useless. They were sucked in like into a black hole.
They came out in a world so strange that it seemed almost unreal. Islands floated in the void, waterfalls flowed up in reverse from the bottom to the top and there seemed to be no end to it. "What the... Where are we?",
"This... must be the Torn World", Gardenia said. "The world where Giratina was banished to by Arceus... But why did it send us here?"
Another portal opened as Giratina returned to the world and disappeared into nothing. "Maybe it wants to show us something..." Mari muttered. "Skarmory! Follow it!" Skarmory nodded and flew off, even though gravity seemed to work differently here and it had trouble flying at all. Noivern followed them.
They penetrated deeper and deeper into the black nothingness, when suddenly, they could perceive a red glow in the depth. They recognized a gigantic creature floating in front of an island. It had six golden ribs surrounding its neck and six shadowy claws protruding from its back. "Is that... Giratina...?" Mari asked. Gardenia nodded. "Yes..."
Giratina hissed before turning to them. "You saved us, Giratina," Jacky remarked as the Pokémon looked directly at them. "Why?",
'Dialga and Palkia are out of their minds', the renegade Pokémon replied. 'The red chains are formed by the crystals of the three lake guardians, Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie, who are connected to Mount Coronet. In fact, they were born the same way Palkia and Dialga were... their origins are intertwined, hence why their strength can be used to restrain them. The power embedded within the red chain can shackle even the most powerful deity, and its might can be used without restraint...There is only one who can stop them now. And that... is Arceus himself. That spiky-haired joker is after his relic, and he must never get it. Stopping them is almost impossible at this point.',
"But... wouldn't it be enough if we destroyed the red chains?" Mari asked.
'It would, if you were able to withstand the strength of the gods of space-time', Giratina fixed them firmly with its eyes. 'Even my power will meet its limits when fighting off against both of them. Their uncontrolled rage also disbalances the space-time continuum, which makes it increasingly hard for me to even travel between the realms. Look around you... their riot is polluting my world, and defiling it. It's making me angry... I can see from the Altered World into the real world, and I know that, despite my hatred against them, this must not be allowed to continue. You humans must stop these clowns, there must be a reason why Arceus has faith in your kind. My power alone won't be enough. I may never have been on Arceus' side, but that doesn't mean I don't care about this universe... To create a new world would destroy the old order and everything in it. This affects not only you, but me and everything else.' Then, it opened a portal. 'Go back to the real world and do what you have to do. Find a way to destroy the red chains... and prevent this... individual from chaining the power of Arceus. This is your only chance. I shall offer my support, only this once.',
"Are you sure the power of the chains is strong enough to shackle a literal god?" Mari questioned.
'That of one might not... But he has two of them.',
"... Fair point." Mari looked at Jacky. The latter nodded. "Thank you, Giratina." Then, they flew through the portal and came out in the real world once more.
