So far, it was a typical normal day at Beacon. Everyone was in the cafeteria enjoying lunch after morning classes. Teams RWBY and JNPR were sitting together as usual, but they were missing someone.
"Hey, where's Jaune?" Ruby asked.
"He said he had to do something then he'd meet us here," Ren answered.
"He should've been back right now though," Pyrrha said worriedly.
"Eh, he probably is just a dog again and can't walk that fast on stubby legs," Yang said.
"Bark!"
"Uh, no offense Zwei."
"Grrr," offense was taken.
The cafeteria doors were loudly forced open.
"Oh hey, it's… Jaune?" Ruby said as Jaune looked worried.
"Oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god," he said repeatedly as he rushed passed them, drawing the attention of the other students. But that wasn't the only noise that was being made, there was a high pitched meeping noise coming from something in his arms.
"What the heck is he carrying?" Weiss asked.
"It looked like a rabbit," Blake replied.
"What..." They watched Jaune go to where Team CVFY minus Velvet was sitting.
"I'm sorry!" Jaune shouted as he reached them.
"Jaune calm down," Coco stood up. "Sorry for what? And why do you have a rabb-"
"It's Velvet!" Jaune held the squirming rabbit up.
"What? What do you mean Velvet?!"
"I bumped into her on the way here! And then we started chatting and my semblance activated! But I was fine! And then I looked down at a pile of clothes and something was rustling underneath and… and... Velvet... rabbit!" He answered hysterically as the rabbit started meeping in fear louder.
"I… what?" Coco's glasses slid down, showing her shocked eyes as they darted between them. "I don't… how.. I mean… oh my god Velvet!" She snatched her from his arms and held it close. "Shhh, it's ok Velvet, it's going to be ok," she tried calming her down.
"...oh my gosh," Ruby said, voicing the thoughts of everyone in the cafeteria. If Jaune did that… could he do it to humans or just faunus? What animals would humans turn into if not just dogs? How does it all work?!
"It's going to be ok Velvet," she rubbed the rabbit's back. It was now calm in her grasp now.
"What's going to be ok?" Everyone's head snapped to the source of Velvet's voice to see her approaching. "What's going on?"
"Velvet?!" Coco shrieked. "Y-you're ok?!"
"Yeah… why wouldn't I be?" Velvet's ears drooped a bit. "And where did you get that rabbit?"
"I don't- but you-" Coco incoherently babbled before pausing as the gears in her head turned. "Jaune!" Said boy was already halfway across the cafeteria.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," he half succeeded in hiding his smile.
"Get back here!" Coco grabbed a tray and charged him. He dodged the first few swings and then started to run away.
Coco gave chase to the prankster, swearing up a storm about how much she was gonna kill him. Zwei gave chase to Coco, barking at the woman to leave his friend alone.
"...can someone explain to me what just happened?" The real Velvet asked.
"Later," Yatsu said as he picked up the non-Velvet rabbit. "Come on, let's get you home."
The next day, Jaune actually did turn into a dog and was missing after classes. No one paid any mind to it and assumed he was hiding in his dorm again.
Pyrrha entered their dorm and found that he wasn't there. Shrugging, she sat down and started browsing on her scroll. All was normal until she came across a montage of posts by Coco. They all were pictures of a little yellow dog in various outfits, some looked like literally baby clothes.
Her eye twitched.
She got up and marched to CFVY's dorm and practically broke it down with how hard she knocked.
"Hello?" Coco opened the door slightly and poked her head through. "Oh hey Pyrrha." A bunch of relieved barks came from her room. "Oh no you don't." She put her foot up to block Jaune from escaping, causing him to whimper.
"Coco..."
"Can I put him in one more outfit first?"
"No."
"Uh, fine, killjoy." She looked down at Jaune. Consider this a lesson, don't prank me like that again." She removed her foot and Jaune came zooming out and hid behind Pyrrha.
The door closed and Pyrrha looked behind her. Jaune was in a little sailor outfit. She tried and failed to not smile.
"Bark!" He slammed his front paws down in a pout.
"I'm sorry, but you just look so cute," Pyrrha admitted. Jaune huffed, turned around, and planted his butt on the ground unamused.
"Ok ok, I'm sorry," Pyrrha kneeled down. "Would you like help getting that outfit off?"
Jaune quickly got up and put his paws on her leg, looking up at her with pleading eyes.
"Ok, hold still….. And there we go," she got it off in a few seconds. "Better?"
"Arf!" Jaune wagged his tail.
"Good. Ok so, maybe we should give these back to-"
"Grrrrrr RAWR!" Jaune leaped forward and took the sailor hat in his mouth and violently shook his head from side to side.
"Hey, can I have the outfit ba-" Coco opened the door and paused. "HEY!" She tried to get it out of Jaune's mouth, but he was a determined lil pup. "Get your greasy mouth off that before you tear the fabric!"
Jaune growled in response and tugged harder.
Pyrrha stood to the side as she watched the angry tug-of-war. This was far from what she expected her time at Beacon to be like, but she wouldn't trade it for anything.
Now, why would Jaune pull a prank like that on Coco? It's not like she unleashed a mini A-10 Warthog on him or anything, right?
