Chapter 2: Learning a bow

Izuku groaned softly as he rolled out from under his covers and sat up in bed, He looked over at his alarm clock and sighed.

'4 am is really early for training but it makes sense since i only have a few months to learn all i can' He thought, stretching his arms by raising them above his head.

He stood up and went into the bathroom to shower and brush his teeth before he went and got dressed in a tracksuit and grabbed his phone off the charger.

He let a deep breath out of his nose as he was cooking eggs and rice to eat before he left when he heard his phone ding in his pocket, 'Who is texting me this early?' He questioned and looked at his phone.

"Hey kid, try and be here by 6 alright, I got a guest who should be able to help with training" Clint sent him the text but Izuku smiled softly knowing he was holding his word and would make him a hero.

Izuku ate his breakfast before filling his water bottle and keys, walking outside the apartment and locking the door, he started jogging to the warehouse address clint told him to go to.

Izuku was huffing as he walked towards the building, while red faced he took a deep breath before walking inside looking around, "Hello?" He yelled out not seeing clint anywhere.

He walked around a bit more before he was strung up by his ankles and hanging upside down.

Izuku struggled not to throw his breakfast up this fast and looked around as best as he could till he heard two pairs of footsteps.

"Well Clint, he sure is skinny like you said. Think he could build up in time for the exam?" A female voice said with a smirk to her voice.

"C'mon, even you were a nobody before i took you under my wing, Now get him down" CLint said, chuckling softly while walking in front of Izuku, "Good job getting here on time kid".

Izuku was scared for a sec till he was dropped landing on his back "ow". He groaned out before rolling onto his forearms pushing himself up,Looking up he saw clint but another person.

"Who is she?" He got out before coughing while trying to stand up.

"Names Kate kid, Think of me as hawkeye 2.0, better, cuter, and more loved" The now named Kate said while leaning on Clint, Who glared at her and scoffed.

Izuku looked at Kate and grunted as he pushed himself up "Why did you hang me by my ankles?" He asked while rubbing his legs from the rope.

Kate chuckled and walked over to Izuku before throwing an arm over his shoulders leaning down, "Because we have to work on your observation skills and that was to see how much we gotta do but now i see we have a lot of work ahead of us" She said before walking over to a bucket of sand.

Clint walked away to the other side of the warehouse and set up some targets "First i wanna see if you can even hit the target kid, so here" He said while handing a bow to Izuku.

Izuku looked the bow over before grabbing an arrow and tried to pull the arrow but couldn't even pull it back at all, "Ugh, you make it seem so much easier to draw the bow" He said before setting the bow and arrow down pouting.

Clint and Kate chuckled at him before Clint rubbed his head, "Trust me kid it took a lot of training which is why we are here kid, now I want you to slap the sand in this bucket" He said, leading him over to the bucket.

Izuku looked at him questioningly and thought over what he was told to do, "If I slap the sand, not only does it help callus my hands it helps me get the motion of pulling the string back…" He started muttering, causing Kate to laugh out loud.

Kate grabbed izuku's shoulders "Now as much as it's cool seeing you talk without air we are on a time table so get to slapping" She said pushing him slightly closer to the bucket and stood over him.

Izuku gulped then looked the bucket over and counted in his head then slapped the sand and winced, but he swallowed the pain and kept slapping the sand slowly making the level in the bucket lower.

Clint and kate watched him and smiled, "He's gonna be a great archer dontcha think?" KAte asked Clint who took a sip of his bottle, "No he'll be the best one there is he has the drive for it and soon he will have the skills, all we have to do is get him into UA then they will be able to help him even more than us" He said while watching Izuku.

This was just the beginning of his training soon he was able to start practicing drawing the bow and even hand to hand with Clint when kate was days he would do his target practice and was able to finally hit a bullseye after two month of constant the new diet he gave to his mom was causing him to grow and bulk up, He went from a measly 5 foot 5 inches to a nice 5 foot 9 and had a nice amount of muscle on him.

Izuku smiled to himself as he had just pinned Kate while doing wrestling drills and luckily got her down bringing the score to 195 kate-18 izuku.

"Alright nerd get off me you got lucky this time"Kate said from under him with a smile on her face at her all but adopted little brother who she was happy to see grow into a beginning archer.

Izuku got off of her and held his hand out for her to take and helped her up before looking over at the door of the warehouse seeing Clint walk in with a case with him, "What's that clint?"He asked walking over to him.

Clint smiled softly and set the case down in front of them, "This squirt is your official brand bow and quiver with some arrows, i called in a few favors and got these made for you so you don't have to use me or Kate's bow during training" He said while holding the bow out towards Izuku.

Izuku looked at the bow then at Clint, "This is for me?" He asked while taking the bow into his hands and running his fingers over the bowstring and smiled softly, he looked back at clint and hugged him, "Thank you"

Clint froze for a sec before smiling and hugging Izuku back. "No problem kid, Now c'mon david said this bow would be better than mine and I wanna see if that's true" He said with a chuckle and walked over to the target.

Izuku laughed and put the quiver on after loading the arrows in and walked quickly over to Clint and pulled an arrow out and aimed at the target, "Think it'll go through this time?" He asked while keeping an eye closed, taking his time to get the aim right.

Kate walked over and looked the bow over in his hands "I think it will, You have been close lately plus the strength training has helped" She said looking him over and stood next to Clint leaning in "You got him a suit too didn't you?" She whispered to Clint, who returned a nod, Causing a small smile to appear on her face.

Izuku let the arrow go and watched as it hit the target slicing through it causing it to swing back and forth while izuku jumped up and down yelling, "Yes it did it, I am no longer the weakest!" He yelled before grabbing Clint and Kate in a hug.

"Thank you two" He whispered and let go as he wiped his tears "Without you two i wouldn't be even close to what i am today, Clint getting me the skills to use this bow and Kate helping me with hand to hand but also you both helping me in confidence" He said while looking them both in the eyes.

Clint smiled "Now don't get too big for your quiver now we still have four months before the exams which means four months of training because we have a lot more to cover, So do you think you're ready?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at Izuku.

Izuku smirked back at him "Please I've survived this long so how about we go plus ultra and get to it old man" He said, causing a chuckle to come from the other archers.

"Let's get to it then shrimp" Clint said while punching at izuku as Kate ran over and threw a jumping kick causing izuku to dodge both of them in a two on one exercise but he never let his smile drop knowing he could be a hero for sure now.
