Chapter 4:eyes of a hawk
Izuku paced back and forth in his room, nervous that he failed the exam and the fact he couldn't get in contact with Clint in a week and he really needed his mentor.
He kept pacing till his mom busted into his room on her knees with a letter in her hands."I-izuku y-your letter from UA came" She said with tears in her eyes and flapping the letter in front of his face smacking his nose lightly causing him to chuckle and grab the letter.
He smiled at his mom and gently closed the door and set the letter on his desk and glared at it. 'Alright izuku Clint,Kate and mom all said no matter what they would be proud of you and you have to believe them' he thought as he took a deep breath and ripped open the letter and saw a metal disc fall out.
He jumped back a bit then stepped closer and pulled an arrow off his shelf and poked the disc, turning it on and showing a UA loading screen that was near 100%.He kept watching till a tall hobo looking man appeared on screen.
The hobo man scratched his stubble and yawned before speaking "since I have to do this one for you and I want to take a nap, let's get right into it. You scored a 92% on the written part of the exam and got 32 villain points which by itself isn't enough but you also got rescue points for helping others. So all together you got about 50 rescue points bringing your score to 82" The person said before the device shut off.
Izuku stayed there for a moment in shock then started shaking and laughed loudly. He kept laughing till he ran out the room and scooped his mom in a tight hug while crying. "I did it mom! I did it!" He yelled before setting her down.
Inko smiled softly and tearfully and hugged Izuku back. "I'm so proud of you, Izuku but remember to please be safe, okay?" She asked while rubbing his cheek with her hand.
Izuku nodded to her before he went to grab his phone to call Clint when he saw a voicemail from him in his inbox and opened it while putting the phone to his ear.
"Hey kid, i-im sorry to do this but yeah I gotta leave Japan for a bit. Kate too we got a bit of trouble to fix up but we hope you made it into that school, we will try and get in contact at some point"Clint said over the message but sounded more distressed. "Look i have to go but uh it was nice having another student kid i'm proud of you" He said before ending the message.
Izuku slowly pulled the phone away from his ear and wiped a tear and smiled softly. 'Thank you for everything you two i'll make you proud' he thought before clutching his fist and thinking about school.
Izuku took a deep breath as he packed his backpack for his first day at UA. "And you have your notebooks and your tissues and books, oh what about your bow and arrows?" He could hear his mom asking in the background and he smiled lovingly to her. "Yeah mom i got it all now i have to go, love you" He said walking out the door.
He walked through the halls and saw a class 1a but was surprised by the size of the door. 'Damn must be for the giant students' he thought and was about to open the door when he saw Uraraka running to the door.
He watched her and smiled. "Hey don't run you aren't late yet trust me" He said as she stopped and hunched over gulping in air. "Good to see you made it Uraraka" he said before opening the door.
"I insist that you take your feet off the desk this second" Was heard by the tall teen and he was standing in front of Bakugou who glared back. "Why should I?" Bakugou yelled back. "Because these are the desks our senpais sat at" The tall teen yelled before spotting Izuku. "It's him" He said, walking over to him.
Izuku looked at the teen before raising his hand to stop him. "Hey, look i get that i look late but i'm not we still got a few minutes" He said as he walked past the teen who opened and closed his mouth a few times.
The teen turned to izuku who knocked Bakugou's feet off his desk causing the blonde teen to growl. "N-no all i wanted to say was thank you for snapping me out of my selfishness and showing me that you knew a lot about the test by blowing up the zero pointer to help save her" He said pointing to uraraka, who blushed and sank away.
Izuku looked at the teen with a raised eyebrow, "What's your name my man?" He asked
The teen stood up straight and smiled "My name is Tenya Iida, I went to somei middle school and I wanna be the best hero i can be" Iida said while beaming and causing a few others in the class to chuckle at his actions.
Izuku smiled at Iida and leaned back in his seat. "Alright Iida, nice to meet you I'm Izuku but i think you should sit down and hush up before that dude up there blows a gasket" He said pointing out the hobo man from his acceptance video.
Iida sputtered and walked to his seat quickly. The hobo man watched him walk then glanced at izuku and then the rest of the class before sighing.
"That took too long, that shouldn't happen again or you will all be gone" The hobo said before pulling out a juice pouch and slurping it down. "I'm Shota Aizawa, you can call me or sensei" He said before pulling out a sports uniform. "Put these on and meet me at gym alpha you have ten minutes" He said as he walked out the door.
Izuku was one of the first people to get his uniform and run down towards the locker room and started taking his blazer and shirt off. "Damn man what kind of workout did you do for arms and shoulders like that?" He heard the red head next to him ask before he smirked. "When your main way of fighting is a bow and arrow gotta make sure to always pack some guns for back up" He said making the redhead laugh.
Izuku finished getting changed and ran out to the field and saw Mr Aizawa standing there waiting.
Mr Aizawa watched everyone get in a line before he pulled out a baseball. "Today we will be conducting a quirk apprehension test and yes you can use your quirks, Katsuki Bakugou you got first in villain points step into the circle and throw this at full power" He said tossing the ball to Bakugou.
Bakugou grunted before grinning madly and throwing the ball before letting out a huge explosion. "Die!" He yelled as the sound of the explosion was heard launching the ball sky high.
Mr Aizawa looked at the phone in his hand and then showed the score of '708.2'. "This is just the beginning but i want you all to do 100%" He said looking at everyone before stopping at Izuku, who stared back without fear, causing Aizawa to smirk "Whoever scores last place will be expelled without any objections" He said making some of the students get scared.
The tests themselves were hard for anyone with a quirk meant for it but Izuku did his best he could sure he was either near the front or the middle but he wasn't doing awful. Izuku was watching Uraraka do her ball throw and watched the ball sail up into the air before seeing her score of infinity and clapped.
Izuku took a deep breath as he walked into the circle and held the ball then glanced at Mr Aizawa. "Excuse me but you said I can do whatever I need to do to get the ball as far as I can right?" He asked Mr Aizawa who nodded, causing Izuku to smile.
Izuku walked over to a tall raven haired girl who blushed at him walking straight to her. "Excuse me,miss you wouldn't mind using your quirk to make me a bow, would you?" He asked with a wink causing the girl to blush even more and nod before making a bow.
He took the bow and smiled to the girl and winked again as he walked back to the circle and got a feel for the bow. 'Man this bow isn't the best like the one gifted to me but its better than a normal bow' He thought before he put the ball on the bowstring and pulled back and let it fly.
He watched it sail for a bit before he looked at Mr Aizawa. "So sensei what did i get?" He asked while leaning on the bow.
Mr Aizawa looked at Izuku and grunted. "You got 509, Which isn't bad" He said while watching Izuku walked back to the class.
Mr Aizawa pulled up the results of the class. "It would take forever to go over your results separately so here are all of them" He said as they appeared.
Izuku looked for his name and dropped the bow in his hand to the ground when he saw his name in last place. "What the hell!" He yelled as he clenched his fist hard enough for his knuckles to turn white as he glared at the ground.
Mr Aizawa looked at Izuku and sighed. "Look I warned you to do your hardest and you failed so leave before i have to escort you out myself which won't be pretty" He said before ducking under the bow.
Izuku glared at Mr Aizawa before he took a deep breath. "Spar me and let me prove i can handle myself and that my lack of a quirk or without my bow or arrows i can still be a hero" He said as his passion burned in his eyes.
Mr Aizawa sighed then motioned Izuku towards the ball toss circle. "You have five minutes to land a hit on me or knock me out of the circle, Yayarozu you're in charge of keeping a timer" He said before he launched a front kick at Izuku, who barely dodged.
Izuku leaped back and looked at Mr Aizawa's stance and charged in with a superman punch then a left high kick when he landed before yelping as his foot was caught and pulled backwards making him do the splits.
Mr Aizawa's eyes widened a bit when he saw no reaction from Izuku being in a looked Izuku in the eyes who smirked. "What? You didn't see that coming?".
Izuku smirked as he spun his right leg around and kicked Aizawa in the shin, making him hiss in a breath, before he stood up and shot down and grabbed one of Aizawa's legs and raised it trying to trip him but Aizawa jumped and kicked Izuku in the side of the head making him drop his hold.
Izuku took a few steps back and bit down on his teeth and watched Mr Aizawa take two steps towards him before he was in Izuku's guard, causing Izuku's eyes to widen, before he was tripped and held down by Mr Aizawa.
Mr Aizawa leaned down towards Izuku's ear and whispered to him. "What? You didn't see that coming?" He said before standing up, "Times up, now all of you, get changed and go home" He said before he started walking away,before he stopped and turned to the students, "That includes you Midoriya" He said and walked off.
Izuku stretched as he walked out of UA campus and smiled to himself. "Hey midoriya" He heard behind him and turned to see Iida,Uraraka and Momo running to him. He smiled at them "Hey there all of you, Are you guys also walking home?" He asked.
Iida and Uraraka nodded while Momo shook her head. "I'm just waiting for my driver to get here but i was hoping to talk to you more when these two said you were leaving" She said with a slight blush before making it go away.
Izuku looked at her before smiling. "Oh well i'm more than happy to talk to you all more but i do have to be home sooner or later, so here give me your numbers and we can make a group chat and talk more when i get home" He said while getting their numbers then running to catch the train.
