Chapter 5:A team up
Going to school at the number one hero school is less exciting than one would think. First there are more normal classes then hero classes and the teachers may be heroes but they still teach regular subjects.
Izuku adjusted his tie and cracked his back in his seat and looked at the blonde haired teen. He thought about how he reacted back in Aldera when they were called to the principal's office to discuss them both passing the exam and chuckled.
He kept up his chuckling until Bakugou snapped his head back in his direction."Can I help you?" He asked Bakugou, who just growled, causing Izuku to smirk and lean back in his seat as he watched ectoplasm leave the room and got excited knowing it was hero training.
He looked over at the other students and could feel the excitement leaking off them and smiled. 'I wonder who will be teaching us, I hope it's someone good like and not someone like All Might' He thought.
"Hey Deku, Who do you think will be teaching us?" Uraraka asked as she rocked back and forth in her seat.
Izuku was about to answer before he heard a laugh that made his eyes widen and stomach drop. 'N-no why does it have to be that asshat' He thought before gritting his teeth to keep his mouth shut.
He watched as the door burst open and the rest of the class burst in excitement to see the number one hero. He clenched his fist underneath his desk and slowly started breathing in and out to calm down.
All Might smiled to all the students and looked over the crowd before letting his gaze stop on Izuku for a few seconds longer and his smile dropped for a quick sec. He coughed into his hand and brought his smile back up and grabbed the podium. "Greetings young heroes of japan, today is your first hero training day" He said, causing a group of yells.
All Might gave off his signature laugh before raising a hand. "Now today we will be conducting in one of my favorite exercises when i was in UA" He said before raising up a flash card, causing Bakugou to sit up and let off a feral grin.
"Combat training, This is where these extras learn their place" Bakugou said out loud causing Izuku to scoff and roll his eyes.
All Might snapped a finger to get the students attention and pulled out a remote. "Now students, what's a hero if not prepared so here are your costumes" He said, pressing the blue button and revealing shelves with cases that had the students' numbers on the sides. "Now go get changed and meet me at gym gamma" He said before leaving in a trail of dust.
Izuku stood up and waited for everyone else to move before walking over and grabbing his case and the second one beside it and started heading towards the locker room excited for the day. Unknown to him someone was staring at his back with squinted eyes.
He walked into the locker room and looked everyone inside over and saw everyone was mostly fit with a tall teen with tentacle arms being the shrugged his shoulders and walked over to a locker and started getting undressed and slid his compress shirt off before sliding a sleeveless one on immediately.
All Might stood at the entrance and waited till he saw the group of students walking out into the light. He smiled at the costumes "They say the actions make the hero but there isn't anything wrong with saying the clothes make the hero too"He said before seeing a missing student. "Where is Young Midoriya?" He asked, causing the others to look around.
They kept looking around until they heard a whistle and looked back at the tunnel and saw Izuku walking out.
Izuku decided to honor Clint's costume and went with black leather vest with red on the pants with combat boots and had an archers glove covering his thumb,pointer,and middle finger.
Izuku looked at the others and raised an eyebrow. "Aren't we here to do some training and not ogle at everyone's costumes?" He said causing some of the others to look forward while Uraraka ran over to him.
"Wow nice costume deku, Looks really practical for your whole sticht" She said smiling brightly at him causing him to cough lightly.
"Your costume is nice as well fits the space theme hella" He said with a smiled while Uraraka rubbed the back of her head,blushing.
"W-well i should've been more specific to not make it skin tight, it's embarrassing"She said looking down.
"Nothing to be embarrassed about young Uraraka" All Might said spooking the two before he pulled out cards. "Today you will be conducting in a two on two hero vs villains exercise, the villains will defend a bomb in a building while the heroes try and either capture the villains or touch the bombs, Now you will pick lots to choose teams"He said while reading the cards.
Iida raised his hand and scratched his chin. "Wouldn't it be better if you chose the teams based off of the quirks we have and which ones would work best together?" He asked while Izuku walked up to him and patted his butt with his bow.
"Calm it there Iida, But remember heroes work together with other heroes they haven't met so this is good to get us in the mindset to find out ways to work with people we don't have connections too" He said, ignoring Iida who was red faced and yelling about him touching his behind.
"Right you are young Midoriya" All Might smiled towards Izuku who rolled his eyes and walked back to the back of the group to wait for his turn to pick a lot.
Izuku walked up when it was his turn and pulled out a ball with the letter "H" and looked around for his teammate. "Hey, Are you letter H?" He heard someone ask him and he turned around to see a tall purple haired teen, that looked strangely like their homeroom teacher.
"Yea-" He said before he went limp. "Good, you're gonna help me win got it. Now get walking" The teen said, causing Izuku to numbly start trudging towards the group.
'What the hell is this?Why can't I stop or control my movements?'He thought as he watched himself move without his permission and tried thinking how to break whatever quirk the teen had.
"Good luck deku!" Uraraka said before giving his arm a light punch causing Izuku to come back into control and shake his looked around and saw his partner looking scared before he walked up to him and grabbed his ear.
"What is your deal huh?" He said quietly in the teens ear and yanked it.
"I have to do good today or won't let me stay in this class and being a hero is all i want and if i take out the number one examinee and since you got last yesterday I figured it worked out" The teen said as he pushed Izuku away. "But since your girlfriend decided to break my quirk we have to actually plan"
Izuku stared at the teen with wide eyes before pinching his nose in between his fingers. "Look i get you wanna do good but all you gotta do is ask me to help, i wanna be a hero too so i get wanting to prove eyebags senior wrong but trying to sabotage me is foul" He said before he followed the class into a spectator room and sat on a bench and went through his quiver of arrows.
He looked up when he saw the teen staring at him. "You gonna come over here and help me plan or you gonna take a picture? I wanna know if i gotta pose or not" He said chuckling as the teen jumped before walking over and sitting beside him.
He sat there in silence for a second before sighing. "Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot, I'm Izuku Midoriya, Nice to meet you" He said holding his hand out to the teen.
The teen took his hand and shook it slightly. "I'm Shinso, Nice to meet you too" Shinso said before adjusting his suit pants. "So, what's with the bow and arrow? That part of your quirk?" He asked before looking around as Izuku started laughing.
Izuku wiped a fake tear and smiled. "No i don't have a quirk but i bet you i'm the third best shot in the world even above snipe" He said before laughing harder as Shinso's eyes went wider than ever.
"Y-you're quirkless?" He asked ,receiving a nod from Izuku who was screwing an arrow head on, "wow and i thought i had it hard" He said before looking at his hands.
"Let me guess, you have a mind control quirk?" Izuku said ,making Shinso nod nervously, "Neat we can use that today, now c'mon it's show time" He said before slinging his quiver over his body and stood up,following the directions to the building.
Izuku looked around the areas of the objective and saw a building that could see the inside of the building clearly. He smiled before turning to Shinso. "Here's the plan, I am going to go sit on top of that building and give to overwatch and then you will go inside and use your quirk to stop whoever gets in your way because as far as i know no one else knows your quirk, right?" He asked, getting a nod.
Shinso looked at Izuku then at the building. "Wouldn't it be best if we were together tho, I have some hand to hand training but i don't think it'll be enough?" He asked with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Izuku patted his back and smiled,"Look i do best with a distance between me and my opponent but if you want" He said before pulling a small club out from his pants pocket. "Here, you can use this if the time calls for it but trust me they won't be expecting me to be away from you taking them out" He said with a smile before he heard All Might yell start in the headset and run towards the building and shoot a grapple arrow up the side and start climbing it.
"Um, All Might sir, Is Midoriya allowed to do that?" A pink teen asked, while others murmured in agreement.
"Now Young ashido, Midoriya is being smart and playing to his field and using distance and scouting as a way to do his best" All Might said before turning back to the screen.
Izuku grunted as he pulled himself all the way up and looked at the view before looking at the building and trying to see which room the bomb or other team were. 'It's kind of dumb on All Might to put me in an area with a building of mostly windows' He thought with a chuckle and saw the room the bomb was in.
"Hey Shinso, I can see the bomb, It's on the sixth floor and it looks like both Kirishima and Sato are there should be an easy win but i'm gonna let you show off those close quarter skills you talked about earlier alright" He said into the headset as he pulled a flashbang arrow out of his quiver and lined the shot up.
"Can you try and get sato out of the room and follow me?" Shinso asked over the comm and Izuku hummed a response, before putting the arrow back in the quiver and messed with the buttons on his bow picking a new arrow.
He took the arrow out and smiled. "Can't ever go wrong with an explosive arrow" He said to himself before he aimed the arrow at the bomb before he tilted down towards the third floor and let the arrow loose,breaking the window and hitting the wall creating an explosion breaking the wall.
"WHAT!" Bakugou yelled while watching the screen. "There's no way that damn nerd is good at anything or skilled enough to land a shot like that!" He screamed out, causing Jirou to wince at his volume.
"Why would you say that Bakugou? Doesn't midoriya have an archery quirk?" Karminari asked as he walked closer to the raging teen.
"Don't say my name you extra and no way that damn nerd is quirkless, so there shouldn't be a way the nerd is this good!" Bakugou yelled again before looking at All Might.
"Listen well Young Bakugou and students even if Young midoriya is quirkless it doesn't mean useless, He has shown his skills in the entrance exam and scored first" All Might said before turning back to the screen. 'Way to go you hypocrite tell the students this but you said the same things about him that day' He thought to himself feeling a pit in his gut.
Shinso ran through the building as he heard an explosion and looked around for either of the villain team members and smirked behind his capture scarf as he spotted Kirishima run out from a corner. He counted down to three before stepping out in front of him causing Kirishima to skid to a stop.
"So you wanna have a manly fight to the death, huh hero? Well alright then i'm itching to show off who is the better man" Kirishima said before he hardened his fists and charged towards shinso and threw a wild jab, that shinso ducked under and threw a palm at kirishima's stomach.
Shinso hissed as he felt his palm sting and say Kirishima had hardened his stomach before the impact and looked up to see him smiling, "I gotta say man you sure pack a punch but it won't be enough to get past my hardening" Kirishima said with a smirk.
Shinso jumped back and pulled out the club Izuku gave him and took a deep breath. "You wanna see who the strongest man is right?" He asked planning to use his quirk.
Kirishima smiled and nodded his head. "Yeah man" He said before he dropped his arms and let his quirk go.
Shinso smirked before walking over to kirishima and pulled out the capture tape and tied it around his wrists. "Go sit down against the wall" He said before putting his finger to his ear. "Midoriya, I've captured Kirishima. How is it going against sato?" He asked while walking up some stairs.
Izuku sucked his teeth as he watched kirishima run out the door leaving sato alone before he groaned. 'Guess i should go handle sato' He thought before pulling another grapple arrow out of his quiver and shot it above the sixth story window and attached it to the edge and yanked it tight. "God this is gonna suck so bad, damn you Clint for teaching me these bad ideas" He said before moving his bow into its staff form and using it as a zipline.
Uraraka was biting her nails as she watched Izuku zipline across the buildings.
"Geez you seem quite worried for our class archer, dontcha uraraka?" Mina asked with a smirk as she poked Uraraka's side, causing her to jump into the air and wave her hands.
"No no, i mean i am worried but it isn't more than a normal friend would be" She said loudly while blushing bright red.
Mina giggled and rolled her eyes. "Sure it's just a normal friend thing to worry but don't think i'm not onto you two my ship senses are tingling" She said before walking back over to asui.
Uraraka let out a deep breath before going back to biting her finger while watching izuku take a heavy body shot from sato.
Izuku grunted as he felt the sugared up sato slam his right fist into his ribs and coughed before stumbling back. "Damn man i feel bad for any purse snatcher you find in the future" He joked with a smile before quickly letting a stun arrow go as Sato caught it and stared at it as it went off.
Izuku took the time to set his bow back into its staff form and twirled it before slamming the end into sato's gut then raised it to smack his nose causing the giant teen to yell out and clutch his nose as he stumbled back. "They say the bigger they are, the harder they fall right? Well how hard do i need to hit you with jolly yellow?" He said with a smile before he ran at sato and jumped beside him and wrapped his arms around the teens neck and tried to get a chokehold locked in.
Sato,who was still blinded and hearing a ringing in his ears from the arrow, felt izuku trying to get a chokehold in and grabbed the smaller teens wrist before throwing him over his shoulder into a pile of boxes and rubbed his eyes and reached for his sugar packets, only to feel a strong cloth wrap around his wrist.
"Sure Midoriya i'll handle both the villains while you take a nap" Shinso said with a small smirk before he ran at sato and took the club in his hand to hit sato's knee, resulting in a loud crack and sato falling to one knee.
Izuku groaned as he got up and smiled before letting two arrows land on either side of sato and stood up straight. "I'd move if i was you shinso, because it's about to be electric in the air" He said before pressing a button on his bow and watched bolts of electricity zap sato, who yelled and groaned before he collapsed and was unconscious.
Shinso smiled before tying satos wrists together and touched the bomb as All Might yelled out that the hero team won. "Good quips legolas" Shinso said as he watched izuku pick up the used arrows.
Izuku chuckled and checked the stun arrow before throwing it to the side. "So we have jokes now jr? Because we can spend the whole way back making jabs at each other" He said as he watched the recovery girl droids get sato and walked down towards the class.
Shinso grumbled as he followed izuku and undid his quirk on kirishima, who wasn't in too down of a mood and commended shinso on his skills causing him to kept his hands in his pockets before he felt the club Izuku lent him "Oh yeah here's this back" He said holding it out to Izuku.
Izuku smiled and waved his hand. "Keep it man, never know when you'll need it again" He said before he walked into the spectator room and saw the other students side eyeing them causing him to groan out loud. "Let me guess, you guys know?" He asked, receiving a few nods making him rub his eyes. "And let me guess y'all don't want me to be a hero now or do you think i can't do it?" He said with venom in his voice.
Uraraka walked up to izuku and hugged him with a giant blush on her face. "You can be a hero no matter what Deku because even without a quirk you beat two strong people" She said while looking up at him in the eyes,causing him to smile softly.
He looked up from her and looked around the room and saw others nodding and others looking away from him earning a frown from him and he walked over to Shinso and sat down next to him.
All Might coughed and caught everyone's attention. "Now that was a good way to end the day but first who was the MVP of that match? Yes, Young Yaoyorozu?" He said pointing to the tall girl.
Yaoyorozu cleared her throat before she started speaking. "The MVP would be Shinso because he was the one to focus more on capturing the villain team than showing off some and doing dangerous moves. While Kirishima and Sato did a good job as villains they both made the mistake of splitting up after the explosion. Izuku would have been MVP if he stuck with shinso the whole time instead of leaving him to be" She said before looking back at All Might.
"I'm an archer,get it through your head. I do better when I can see clearly and farther than any one in this room. If I can't use my abilities to their full potential then why should i let you all use your quirks to your full potential. Like Aizawa said yesterday, always do your best or you're out of here" Izuku said from the back of the room before he closed his eyes and held his bruised ribs.
All Might felt his smile shift before he felt his time limit running low. "Enough of that arguing students, Now for all of you to go back and change back into your uniforms and i will see you all again" He said before he ran off
Izuku stood up slowly and dragged his bow behind him as he walked back into the locker room and changed out of his costume and into his uniform. He sighed softly and grunted as he felt the pain in his side and walked out the room and towards recovery girls office and was thinking ahead to the future of hero school.
