Here's another chapter of Puppy Arc. Enjoy.

"And here is the backstage room for you," the receptionist said as he opened the door for Pyrrha. "Well let you know when it's time for the interview."

"Thank you sir," Pyrrha said as she stepped in, sat on the chair, and sighed.

Today, Pyrrha had an interview on a live talk show. She would rather be doing anything on this nice Saturday, but that was the burden of being a celebrity fighter she supposed. She put her backpack down and opened it to get some things out.

As she unzipped it open- "Ahhhh!" She jumped back in startlement as a puppy's head poked out of it. "J-Jaune?!"

"Arf!" He panted happily.

"Jaune," all panic was lost as she scratched his ears, "That was mean you little… wait, what were you doing in my backpack?

Jaune thought he could enjoy his Saturday the way he wanted, but waking up as a dog put a wrench. He doubted the movie theater would let him in without calling animal control or something, even if he walked up with money in his mouth. It wasn't all bad though, he had the perfect excuse to snooze in late into the morning.

He was so comfortable that he didn't even notice he rolled off the bed into Pyrrha's backpack until he woke up… and decided it wasn't a big deal and tried to go back to sleep.

The shaking in the dark startled him awake but he couldn't do much, not in his current shape. The best he could hope for is whoever was taking the bag wasn't stealing it.

"Did you sneak in there so you can watch me?" Pyrrha asked. Too embarrassed (and literally unable) to tell the truth, Jaune nodded at that. Pyrrha sighed. "Jaune I appreciate you looking out for me, but don't you think you're going a little overboard?"

There was a knock at the door. "Are you ready Miss Nikos?"

"Yes, just give me a moment," she replied. "Jaune, just wait here for me please?" Jaune gave her a salute. "Thank you." Pyrrha then left for her live interview, leaving Jaune all alone. It didn't take long for him to get bored waiting. He wished Pyrrha left her scroll behind or at least there was a tv or something. But alas he was stuck with only his thoughts to keep him company.

Eventually, the door opened, and Jaune's excitement was squashed when it was just some janitor. "Whoops, this is 105, not 106," she muttered to herself. "I'll just…" she paused as she saw Jaune, her expression slowly turning to anger. "You…"

It took Jaune a moment, but he recognized her as the ETPA employee that almost euthanatized Zwei.

… uh oh.

"I lost my job because of you," her angry expression turned to fury as she stepped closer. "I've dreamed of getting some payback on you. Guess it's my lucky day. Come here!" She lifted a mop up high and brought it down. Jaune was faster and dodged it. "Hold still!" Jaune didn't comply and continued to run around the room as the former ETPA lady swung her mop around like a madwoman, uncaring for collateral damage.

Jaune hopped up on the makeup desk and ran, dodging swing after swing that broke lightbulbs and mirrors alike. For one mirror, Jaune had to stop to avoid falling glass, but it gave her an opening to strike him, sending him tumbling to the wall.

"Not so tough are you," she spat out with an evil smile. "No other dog to help you out of this you little shit." She walked up and grabbed him. "I don't care if some glorified fighter adopted you, runts like you don't des- Ack!" Because she didn't know Jaune was actually a huntsman with aura, he was only pretending to be knocked out and bit her finger before running out of the room. "Get back here!" She gave chase.

Jaune ran as fast as he could. In all honesty, he could have taken her, but Pyrrha trusted him not to get into trouble. That being thrown out of the window he opted for the next best thing. GTHO.

He eventually went through a slightly ajar door and entered the interview room, where Pyrrha sat on a couch with the interviewer in front of cameras. Hearing the woman's footsteps from behind, Jaune quickly formulated a plan called "Operation: Get away from the scary lady by being Pyrrha's adorable puppy" and sprang into action.

"And that's what made you choose Beacon over Haven?" The interviewer asked.

"More or less," Pyrrha replied. "But it was also-" they were distracted when a bunch of behind-the-scenes workmen gasped and moved out of the way of a charging puppy. "What the-… Jaune?!"

"Bark!" Jaune replied happily as he jumped on the couch next to her.

"Jaune, what you- how- I don't-…" Pyrrha was at a loss for words. Why couldn't he just wait?! This was so embarrassing! "Jaune go back to the room."

Jaune paused and then huffed.

"Jaune, back to the room." She pointed to the door.

"Arf."

"Back to the room."

"Arf."

"Back to the room."

"Arf."

"I said go back to the room!"

"*whine*"

Pyrrha wasn't falling for the sad puppy trick and picked him up and held him up in front of her.

"Listen here buster, you…" in her peripheral vision, she could see an angry woman looking at her from the door... no, looking at him. Pyrrha didn't know what was up, but quickly realized Jaune came here to escape her. Her eyes flickered back to Jaune, showcasing very convincing puppy eyes. "… you… are lucky you are adorable." She set him back down. "You can stay."

Jaune barked happily and chose her lap as a comfortable seat.

"Might I ask who this is?" the interviewer asked.

"Oh, this? This… is my best friend, Jaune."

"Welcome back," Ren greeted.

"Hello!" Pyrrha greeted.

"Arf!"

"I take it your interview went well," Ren said.

"I take it you watched it?"

"Sorry, I didn't not," Ren pulled out his scroll. "However, the two of you went viral."

"Oh God… how bad is it?" Pyrrha asked.

"Blog posts, clips online, and memes. It's mostly memes," Ren explained.

"Oh dear."

"Does it help if I said Nora made some?"

"Not really."

"Would you like to see them?"

"No thanks."

"Bark!" Jaune walked up and Ren held his scroll down to show him Nora's memes. His front paws danced as he saw them.

Ren's scroll then pinged with a message. "Ok, I'm going to help Nora in the library. See you guys for dinner."

"See you soon," Pyrrha said. The moment the door closed, Jaune's semblance activated or deactivated, and he was human again.

Pyrrha quickly looked away.

"I'm still clothed," Jaune said.

"Ok, good," Pyrrha turned to address him. "Jaune, why was that woman chasing you? Did she think you were a stray?"

"Not exactly. Do you remember when I told you about how Zwei and I were at the ETPA clinic?"

"Yes."

"Well, she was a former employee of there, and she recognized me."

Pyrrha gasped. "Did she do anything to you? Did she try and hurt you?!"

"No no," Jaune lied. "I just…" He could tell from Pyrrha's expression that she didn't believe him.

"Give me her name," the anger in her voice was present full force. "I don't like using my reputation for favors, but how dare she try and hurt you!"

"Actually, I don't think that's necessary," Jaune replied. "I think someone else will take care of it for us."

The former ETPA rubbed her arms nervously as her boss surveyed the damage she'd done to the room.

"S-sir-"

"You're fired."

Thanks for reading, have a good day :)
